Perfect beach motel for the price you pay. 2 minute walk to restaurants and the beach. Only complaint is the room had sand when we got there and was really hard to keep the room clean tracking back sand from the beach everyday. If i knew they didnt vacuum i would have brought my own. GET THE TRAVEL INSURANCE, A HURRICANE DOES NOT WARRANT A REFUND.  In our situation,  Hurricane Debbie was in the area and I wanted to cancel but could not.  Luckily it JUST passed by the time we got there and it was sunny.  This is a small motel and I'm assuming they cannot afford too many cancelations.  The office staff was SUPER nice and the motel was so clean, looks like it was recently renovated, very cute place.  Parking is SO tight, but my car was parked so close to my room, which was convenient.  The shower was dirty and they didn't bring towels after we requested.  About a block walk to the beach. They have 3 grills in the back and picnic tables, excellent for a family get together.  Check in is done by entering a code (which is provided via email) on your room door and it automatically unlocks.  You will use this code to unlock every time, no key cards are given.  The place feels very safe.  The pool was very clean, I recently stayed somewhere else and the pool water was cloudy, yuck.  I loved the coastal decor/theme.  Price point was fair.  I definitely will stay here the next time we're in town for sure! read more

Very charming decor, and friendly staff. We ran into several issues the first day with the room we were staying in (plumbing, and electrical), which tarnished our stay. We contacted the office for help and they were very apologetic and fixed the issues promptly which was much appreciated. They also partially comped our first night stay as well which was not expected, and a pleasant surprise! This would be a great place to stay for a night or two but not for long term stays longer than a couple nights in my opinion. The bed we had was a very thin and firm mattress. I've never understood why hotels insist on crunchy, thin, & hard mattresses. Why not make it more comfortable for your guests so they can get the rest the need? The parking situation was very tight. It's a tight space all around and that makes it difficult to maneuver. They do have a pool and we enjoyed it all to ourselves for one evening. We might stay again if it were only for a night or two, and that is only because the beds were very hard. read more

I actually really liked this place. The room was perfect for 2 people, fully remodeled, very cute. I also liked the check in system with a keypad lock and not having to worry about a room key. Perfect walking distance to local restaurant/ bar, Bonzer Shack (which is delicious) and right across from beach access. The only small complaints I have are the super tight parking lot, not many tv channels available, and the towels could stand a good bleaching. My husband and I had a wonderful little getaway for our anniversary at the See Sea Motel!! Perfect location; the beach is right across the street, tons of great restaurants close by, movie theatre down the street, etc. Our room was small, but very clean and had everything we needed! It was nice not to have to check-in, we just received an email with the code to get into our room and any other information we'd need during our stay. Overall a GREAT place for the low price! The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the parking lot is a very tight fit! read more

We checked in Sunday, and we leave Friday. Today is Tuesday, and I feel as if I'm in the middle of a Clark Griswald vacation. We stayed at here in 2019. It was neat as a pin, and housekeeping took care of our needs (trash removal, replenishing towels as needed, etc.). We had such a nice experience, we knew we'd be back. Even with concerns about COVID, we felt good about traveling because we knew the See Sea took cleanliness seriously and wanted to spend our 18th anniversary here. Little did we know that we'd be disappointed. When we walked in, we noticed a strange mildewy smell. The wall beside the door looked to have been damaged and sloppily painted over with a screw sticking out, and behind the kitchen table was a long scrape. There weren't any closets or drawers in the bedrooms, and the carpets and fabric bedsides were stained. There was something under one of the beds (maybe tissue), but we aren't sure. We are living out of our suitcases because there isn't anywhere to put our clothes. There was a thick coat of filth on the baseboards and on the bottom edge of the tub. The tub also had mold in the seams, and there was no place to set anything. The sink was a pedestal style which would be fine if there was another place to put toiletries. We ended up moving a small table from one of the bedrooms in there just so we'd have a place to put our toothbrushes. The worst part was the bathroom wall that had brown smears near the toilet paper roll! Also, in the bath there were 2 wash cloths, and there were 4 of us. My husband called and was told they'd bring us linens, but no one came. My husband found another wash cloth inside a small cabinet in the living area. I, on the other hand, ended up washing my hind end with a hand towel. My husband called again and was told that they didn't have any extra except for two wash cloths. He said that we could use those, and the guy said he'd bring them right over but never showed up. That evening I felt that things were getting ridiculous considering what we were paying for this place, so I decided to call. I told the guy about the room being dirty, the lack of linens, and the brown smear on the wall. I was told that they didn't keep extra linens on hand, and we'd have to wait until tomorrow morning when housekeeping arrived between 8:30 and 9. The man seemed concerned about the bathroom wall and said he'd make a note of it for his manager. I also asked him to have his manager call me, and he said he would. My husband and I decided to purchase our own bath towels, wash cloths, disinfectant, and gloves. That way we'd could all take a shower, and I was also planning on cleaning that horrible brown smear off the bathroom wall. Not long after we returned from the store, a man knocked on our door (I'm assuming he's the one I talked to over the phone.) and asked to see the dirty bathroom wall. He left and returned with cleaning supplies and cleaned it off. He reiterated that when housekeeping came in the morning, if we caught one of them, we'd be able to get clean linens and have the room cleaned. We got up and kept checking for housekeeping. No one showed up. My mom stayed here again, so we could take our daughter to the beach. Around 10:30 she saw the housekeeping cart. She asked the lady if we could have linens and was told that they only supplied enough for each person upon arrival. My mom explained that we didn't have enough even then and was told if they had extra, she would bring them by. My mom asked about the dirty ones and also about trash pick up and was told they didn't pick up anything until we checked out. She did give her some trash bags and pointed her toward the dumpster. Mom ended up emptying the trash and taking out the dirty linens. Later, the lady brought linens which we were grateful for. I don't know what has happened to this place, but I do know that we will not be back, and we will make sure to caution everyone about staying here. We still haven't heard from the manager. read more

Perfect size room with all the amenities you could possibly need (microwave, single cup coffee maker, oversized mini fridge, toaster oven, free wifi, swimming pool etc.). 1st Stay 3 years ago: awesome (first summer they opened). 2nd Stay 2 years ago: cancelled via a hurricane (compensated w/their insurance). 3rd Stay 1 year ago.. The once clean and fresh room has shown wear after a couple years but that said was still in comfortable shape. We had a bad experience however that sadly involved the management and a 911 call. Around 6:00pm we somehow got locked inside the pool area. The See Sea manager (Beth) forgot that she works in the hospitality industry and, via phone, proceeded to insult me and accuse me of criminal activities. She wasn't in the capacity to get us out (she explained that she was a half hour away) so we had to call 911. Apparently the hourly person she employs was supposed to have locked and secured the pool area earlier in the afternoon - but did not. Therefor, in Beths mind, we were at fault for being in the pool and getting locked in at 6:00pm. And having to call 911 to get out stressed both us not to mention the first responders. Thanks Beth! (And I'm not sure why the pool has to close mid-afternoon anyway). I did reach out to upper management (Leslie) and the reply was along the lines of "we'll look into it." As a former resident and a frequent visitor I can say that hospitality has become scarce on the Outer Banks so I'm not surprised how I was treated. Paying well over $100 per night meant nothing to the Manager - who clearly hates her job. read more

This hotel is completely remodeled and very nice. Parking can be tricky if you have a large vehicle but they were working on making larger parking spaces in front of the hotel for us big vehicle drivers. We had three rooms rented and each room was large and had a kitchenette. The rooms and hotel grounds are very clean plus the deep pool was nice. I will definitely stay here again! read more

Mostly cute inside our small room with no furniture besides the bed. The shower curtain is rounded out of the shower so be prepared for a puddle. Our towels smelled of cooked seafood/old bay which was odd. A few weird smudges of unknown substances on the wall in addition to stains on the sheet. Couldn't find the WiFi information and couldn't get in touch with the office for help. On the plus side: the AC worked like a champ and kept us very comfortable overnight. First impression is not great. Tiny driveway parkinglot very small. If u have a big truck don't bother driving thru lot. Very cramped, if u cherish your baby, park outside in the 6 spaces that are on the outsides. There was no office when we arrived , only 2 friendly girls sitting on bench outside the assigned locked room that she states is the temp office (room 3) . We were given room 20 above the pool, small yet super clean. Was decorated cute and loved the retro kcup pot and microwave. Room comes with 2 bottles of water and 4 coffee pods. Only 2 lamps in room and one was missing a bulb. When we arrived the room was damp and warm but cooled off quickly with wall a/c. No chair just bed and small bathroom. Basic tv. No movie channels or fx or anything. I wouldn't pay $200 for this room again but it was 4th of July weekend and all hotels were booked or well over $300 and most require more then one night to rsvp. read more

Recently renovated which was well needed. Looks great but they need big time help on customer service, reservations and standing by their booking commitments. They have outsourced property management so be careful when booking. We went through Expedia, got the wrong room and then would not make us whole for the mistake. Move on and look elsewhere. Found See Sea to be very clean and a great location right by the beach. It's been renovated recently and the room was very cute and tastefully decorated. I stayed in a king and the room was larger than I expected. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom super clean. Keurig, microwave, fridge, dining table right in the room. The pool was small -- but okay considering the ocean was literally across the street. Checked into our room via self check through their website. (Yay for technology) The office wasn't manned but they were reachable by phone and they let us park in the lot before our 3 pm check - in time, which was a huge benefit for us weary travelers. The parking lot is super tight and tricky to navigate if you're driving a SUV, but they do provide overflow lot info on the confirmation email. I found the price to be on par or slightly less than the other chain hotels in the area. Within walking distance to some yummy restaurants. read more

The owner is so cool and very helpful. He also has a parrot that greets you at the office. Rooms are in peak condition. The wood paneling took us back to a time when we were young. Although we are disappointed with no wifi, the cable box was a nice surprise. The other patrons were quite the characters and very social. Towels and matching sheets were provided, however the lack of soap was a letdown. Great value, prime location, and we will definitely be patronizing this motel in the future. read more
