Great location that is right close to the Wright Brothers Memorial and it's on the beach. I stayed here one night during the off season. The room was small but comfortable enough. There's only about 18 inches between the foot of the bed and the far wall. Small table with a single chair, dresser with a flat panel television, mini fridge, coffee service and an in-room safe. Bathroom was similarly tiny but functional. This is not roomy at all but really, how much time do you spend in the hotel room? I will have to say that it was NOT very quiet and it would likely be even worse during full season. I could easily hear slamming doors in the evening and conversations in the next room. The air conditioner/heating unit was also not silent. Breakfast in the morning was pretty standard for a free breakfast. Omelets and sausages in a warming tray were fine. Breads for tasting, yogurts, some cereals, juices and fruits. Perfectly adequate. You can't beat the location and I got a great deal for the price. If you're looking for fancy, you'll be paying a lot more. Get some ear plugs and you'll be fine.

Booked this room on hotel.com which had a bunch of good ratings.... It's been a nightmare. Had to change rooms the "ocean front" room was absolutely disgusting... trash under the bed, ( makes me wonder if the sheets were even changed) and roaches. called about it and was told they weren't able to do anything because the manager wasn't there. Found another roach, called again, and we got another room at 1am. Mind you we have a 6 month old with us.. our new room seemed alright. It smelled like a farm... the next day we found a roach. Will never be coming back.

We paid almost $2,000 for a suite double bed for a week that didn't have any kitchen amenities besides a mini fridge and a microwave. The continental breakfast was a water bottle, juice a granola bar and an orange every day. Worst part about this place is the cockroaches!!! So gross

Stayed here 2 nights with my dad and 2 little kids. I was so happy to get a room with two beds for a good price when our original hotel booked us for the wrong dates and had nothing available. Upon seeing the room, we were pleasantly surprised, it was updated, very clean and not too small. We had the two little kids, one of which I intended to have sleep in a pack n play. I set up the pack n play with plenty of room - there would have been enough space for three of them if I had needed it! There were a few bugs but can't say it was preventable as it was probably because my dad kept opening the door and going outside so much (several flies, 1 cockroach right at the door, and a single flea after my kids rolled in the grass for a while). The a/c and everything with moving parts worked great. All except for those curtains... we were in a first story room facing the street - an excellent spot for unloading the car especially with little kids running around in the grass. But the curtains are my biggest complaint. I could not seem to shut out all the street lights, and on the 2nd night, there was someone shining headlights directly in my eyes at about midnight. During our visit, the staff were so so so nice and helpful. I asked one lady about food suggestions and she gave me excellent information. We ended up getting gluten free pizza from Slice and it was phenomenal. Oh the pool! It was great. A little cold for his time of year but perfect for a short dip. There was a volleyball court in the sand out back on the way out to the beach, and across from that was a huge bricked-in grill which could have been really fun to gather around with a group. There was also a nice little outdoor shower area so that was handy. For the price, everything was pretty great. I would definitely stay here again. I'm torn between 4 and 5 stars but the other ratings don't seem to do it justice so I'm bumping it up to 5. The lack of a hot breakfast was explained to me at check in, they said they aren't allowed to cook right now (covid rules) but I feel that they offered a fair alternative of juice, fruit cup, granola bars and water, and besides - they gave me a really great price on my room so how could I really complain?

This is the views we had from our hotel!!

This hotel was an amazing experience for me and my family. All the ladies working at the front were so nice from the time we checked in to the time we checked out. They were exceptionally kind to my daughter as we were there celebrating her birthday. Every morning when we went to breakfast they made a big deal about being super kind to her. The rooms were very clean and updated. It has great access to the beach. The lobby area was a very comfortable place to sit and hang out and have great family time. WE LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

Great location too! A couple things worth mentioning though. Our room was very damp. And not just a little humid (we lived in FL for 15 years so we understand humidity), but like our clothes felt wet when we put them on and paper gift bags were soft. We actually turned off the air and opened the slider to air the room out a couple times. If I had to take a stab in the dark, there's likely a serious mold issue behind the walls. There was mold growing on the AC unit. Another thing about the area in general (not just the hotel)...flies. Be prepared to have them tag along with you EVERYWHERE. They were in every restaurant we went to, by the pool, at the beach, in the gym, in every store. It was the most bizarre thing. Just everywhere. Also, I didn't realize how dog friendly this hotel was. We have two dogs and love them, but our room clearly had a dog in it previously with signs of hair on the AC unit and in the carpet. I wish we'd have brought our own pillows as the ones in our room were down pillows and even with 2 of them, they still fall flat. Overall, the location, price, service, and amenities were totally fine but those things like the room being super damp, the flies, and pet hair were just little nuisances that I think people should be aware of.

First and foremost, the Kitty Hawk Pier made planning our wedding from a state away incredibly easy. Every single coordinator we worked with was friendly, accommodating, and genuinely invested in making our day special. Emma, especially, answered what was probably 2,839,028,392 emails from me and my million questions with patience, professionalism, and kindness every single time. From the very beginning, the entire team made us feel like our wedding was special and unique--not like they simply do this every weekend. The level of attention, care, and personal service they provided to make our wedding perfect was truly incredible and so appreciated. The food was AMAZING! We had several food allergies among our guests, including me--the bride--being allergic to gluten. The team went above and beyond to make sure everyone could eat safely while still enjoying an incredible meal. We had the mahi and beef, and our guests could not stop talking about how delicious everything was. We were also so impressed by how quickly and efficiently everyone was served. Every single employee we encountered was incredibly helpful, kind, and attentive. From the bartenders and servers to the managers, everyone went out of their way to make sure we and our guests had the best possible experience--and we truly did. Having the hotel right on site was an absolute dream. The hotel staff were incredibly accommodating, and our guests were very happy with their rooms, the restaurant, and the pool and beach access. The gym even had Peloton bikes! The entire setup made the weekend so convenient and enjoyable for everyone. I truly cannot stress enough what a dream venue this is for anyone who wants to get married at the beach. Being able to have all of our guests check in and be done traveling, have the most beautiful beach ceremony, and then immediately move inside to air conditioning while still enjoying the incredible views over the water was absolutely perfect. Having access to the pier for photos was also such a special bonus and gave us so many beautiful memories and pictures. The Kitty Hawk Pier truly gave us the beach wedding of our dreams. From the planning process to the food, staff, accommodations, location, and every little detail in between, everything was exceptional. We will be forever grateful to the entire team for helping us create the most perfect wedding weekend and would wholeheartedly recommend the Kitty Hawk Pier to anyone looking for a beautiful, stress-free, and truly unforgettable wedding venue!

First, some of the issues I have: The room layout puts one bed very close to the air conditioner and because they have the old-fashioned hotel style AC units, that leaves at least one person getting directly blasted with cold air all night. Using pool towel clips to put a towel over one side of the vent did help but reduced the efficacy of the AC and made the room warmer for everyone else. Breakfast is nice (and free) but the setup of it seems to be done as if this is a business hotel and not a beach front hotel. The cereal choices were all boring adult cereals, the bread for toast was VERY whole grain (as in it had pieces of grains in it), and the only milk they had was white milk (for example). Adding a small amount of more kid-friendly breakfast elements would go a long way. The outdoor pool is sheltered from the wind by the sand bank and gets really hot in the sun, a lightweight shade over the whole (or part of) the deck would probably be a welcomed addition by most people. As for what's great about this place: The location includes a beachfront pool + small snack shack with beach access which is directly across the road from the hotel itself. This gives the best of both worlds with beachfront access as well as having better parking and more room on the hotel property. On non-weekends the price is super affordable for a beachfront Marriott property. Not to mention the only Marriott property on the Outer Banks. It's very close to great food options, many walkable. Stuff for both adults and kids is easy to access. It's also not far to many interesting sightseeing or cultural things to see. All-in-all, I would love to see some minor changes but even with some flaws this is definitely a 5 star option.

The price was around $200 a night, so I certainly wasn't expecting anything luxurious. Unfortunately, even with pretty low expectations, the stay was disappointing. When I arrived, there was no shampoo or soap in the room. I then noticed a cockroach crawling up the curtains, which I took a photo of. I also found multiple different types of hair around the room, which made it seem like the room had not been thoroughly cleaned before I checked in. The following day, I called around 1 p.m. and asked if housekeeping could clean the room. I was told that 1 p.m. was already "too late" to request cleaning, which I found pretty ridiculous. After some back and forth, they said they would make an exception and send someone. Nobody ever showed up to clean the room. The toilet also didn't flush properly, which I documented as well. I can overlook an older property, basic rooms, and limited amenities when the price reflects that. What I can't overlook are basic cleanliness issues, a cockroach in the room, plumbing that doesn't work properly, and housekeeping saying they'll come and then never showing up. There are definitely better options in the Outer Banks. I wouldn't stay here again.

The Oceanfront Gazebo was really nice, the beach wasn't crowded, and the pool was also nice! I appreciate the updates they have done to the place overall. My BF who loves free hotel breakfast, was disappointed that their breakfast spread didn't including hot foods like; eggs and bacon or sausage. The closest thing they had was a prepackaged breakfast sandwich you heat up in the microwave, which in his words "isn't the same". However, they did also have a waffle maker. Sidenote: I do wish there was a vending machine in the four seasons building. Complaints/Suggestions: The shower in our room only had a fixed glass wall, that only covered half of the entrance to the shower. (No tub) Which, I mean it's not my house, not my flooring lol but that caused a lot of water to splash out and get into the main bathroom floor. Which is just a poor design choice by someone; in my opinion they need something to completely block the water from getting out while you shower. Next, our balcony light didn't really work. Just flickered a lot. In addition to lighting issues and it only really happened 1 or 2 nights during our stay. But the main room light & fan is controlled by a remote thing attached to the wall. After turning off the light one night, while lying in bed, it turned itself back on. Then would flicker or like turn on and off a few times in a row. Not a big deal, but annoying lol This went on for about 5 to 10 minutes before we turned off the 'main switch' on the remote and that main switch turns off the light and the fan. Lastly, I do think the hotel was pretty clean and our room was clean. However, our last night we did see a roach on the ceiling. We ended up losing track of it while trying to get it outside. But then during a 2am bathroom break my BF saw either the same one or a different one on the bathroom floor. Again, we didn't see any all week, just the last night soooo Idk how to judge that. The roach brings me to 3 stars but without it, it would be 4 stars.
