After not having water for a couple days and PG&E letting us know the exact problem we contacted a few different places asking for estimates. I trusted the 1st Class technicians to use the most appropriate and cost effective ways to clear a stoppage. A number of months later, they did not clear the stoppage properly and I had to call another service. Rather than snaking the pipe, they decided to cut the pipe to clear the stoppage. That was expensive and unnecessary. It's unbelievable they took advantage of me and situation, and clearly capitalized on my inexperience. Do not trust these guys as nice as they are. Something that was a simple snake job cost me several hundreds of dollars. Those two technicians should be ashamed of themselves. What a couple of opportunists. Buyer be definitely aware. read more

Our water heater was leaking and I immediately called my home warranty company, received a scheduling call and First Class Water Heaters was out the next day, which was on a Saturday. Zenus came out and assessed the leakage because water from the water heater was running through the wall on to the front door walk way. Zenus was able to stop the leak but suggested that there might be some water damage inside the wall and in the platform. He referred a restoration company to me that came out the next day. It took a few days to get my water heater replaced because the restoration had to do their part first. As soon as they were finished I called First Class Water Heater and I had a brand new water heater installed the next day. Zenus was very pleasant and professional. The team arrived here promptly and did a quick, but excellent installation of our new water heater. We have had the unit for about a week and it has worked efficiently with not a single drop of water from a bad weld. So, no problems with the installation crew at all. The office staff on the other hand left a bit to be desired. We had to call them several times to find out what was going on. We spent an extra day without showers because nobody called to tell us about needing to contact the warranty company for yet something else. This was strange, as the warranty people had already told us that the job had been approved and assigned. I didn't know anything about this company, except that they were listed as an authorized repair vendor for my Noritz water heater. Jayme Perez arrived right on time, a day after I called, and quickly diagnosed the problem we were having with our Euro style water heater. Apparently we should have been doing more maintenance all along, and Jayme was able to flush the system and do a full system maintenance for us. While it's only been 24 hours, the problem seems to be fully corrected and it's working better than ever. I was impressed that Jayme didn't try to sell us a new heater, telling me that "this heater has a long life left and if you treat it right, should be the last one you need". I thought the prices were a bit high, but I always think that, and Jayme did offer us a senior discount which helped a lot. One thing that I always ask is whether the person that comes to your house is an employee of the company as I find these days that many service "companies" you call are just referral services. Jayme reassured me that he is an employee of the company and wouldn't have it any other way. I find that reassuring, as a company will be more likely to stand behind the work of one of their own. Charles Yocum from First Class is about as close to a modern-day knight in shining armor as you can get. Our water heater decided to geyser the day after Christmas. We initially had set up an appointment with a different company, but there was a scheduling mix up and we were looking down the barrel of a 2 week+ delay before anyone could come out. We reopened the case when the error was discovered and our home warranty company contacted First Class Water Heaters to come out to access the situation a lot sooner than the other company would have been able to. Charles was very prompt, performed the diagnosis, and thoroughly explained situation to us in easy to understand language; letting us know what we were up against. He took it even a step further by assuring us he could try to perform the repair by the end of the next day. But the real magic happened shortly after, when he contacted the warranty company and was able to expedite the job, and come back out later that evening to fully perform the repair. He did an amazing job, and I have to say, after having no hot water for 8 days, I don't think I've ever taken a more satisfying shower. He really was professional and there for us in our time of need, the price was very fair, and the service was fantastic. I rarely post reviews on Yelp but felt compelled to recommend Jamie Perez & FCWH. I had to have my hot water heater replaced and after delays (NOT FCWH fault....the delay was because of my home warranty program) I got an appointment to get the unit replaced. Jamie is the guy to ask for if you go with FCWH. He assessed the problem and made the recommendation for replacement. When my home warranty program finally got the paperwork done and the hot water heater ordered, he was the one sent to do the job, and boy am I glad! Jamie was glad too, as he knew what he needed to have ready to get the job done. Our experience with First Class Water Heaters was AMAZING thanks to Trey! We needed to replace our old water heater and we were referred to this company by a coworker. Trey came out to give us an estimate and went above and beyond to help us! He was honest, kind, patient, informative, and didn't hesitate to jump in when we needed help. First off would I would never reccomend this company for anything. They called me super early the day they were suppose to come fix my water heater. They said the helper truck broke down they would have to re schedule. I told them when I placed the order this was super important. My husband and major health issues. The girl would not listen to me. I tried to call back and they would not answer the phone. I told her I needed to talk but she put me on hold and talked over me everytime I talked. I have called back since 12/24 and no one ever calls me back. When they see that I am the one calling they don't answer my calls. I think that is the roodest thing. My husband ending going into the hospital for an infection because he could not take a shower. We just got a gas water heater replaced by Gerson Herrera from FCWH. The nicest guy, very professional, tidy and patient. Our home warranty company contracted them, and we were apprehensive based on past experiences with subcontractors, but we got really lucky with FCWH. The company is great to work with: got an unusual-size water heater in just 1 day and offered to install it the next day, called 30 min prior to arrival as requested, and Gerson was very careful to remove the old water heater from a very tricky location in a house with tons of outdoor stairs for access. No complaining, just got to it and finished the job as quickly as possible on Friday night so that we have hot water over the weekend. 5 stars! read more

Our home warranty company connected us with First Class and Gerson Herrera, their local plumber, came promptly to assess the situation and do the R&R. He clearly knew what he was doing and worked hard all day to get us back to hot showers by the evening. Disappointed the workers came out to fix the water heater they started the work they didn't have all their tools and had to use some of my tools they replaced the part incorrectly and tried saying that they needed to replace the whole unit they put it back together incorrectly it wasn't sealed PG&E had to come out and stop a small gas leak very unprofessional...... I should have written this a while ago, but now you can get a couple months down the line with our water heater still working! The backstory is that our water heater had stopped working (it shut it self off). Kurt come out and fixed it, but he was honest and said it looked like it might be an intermittent problem the might pop up again because it wasn't super clear what the problem actually was. He gave us his work phone and told us to call him if there was any continuing problems because he could get out to us faster than if we called the front desk. Two weeks later it turned it self off again, and we gave him a call. Two hours later on the same day he and his boss showed up to solve the problem. His boss said it was a weird thing with the pilot light that shouldn't be a problem on a water heater this young, but he had seen it before with the particular brand where it had begun to fail and caused this weird intermittent shut off problem. They ordered the part fixed, it when it came in, and a few months down the road it is still working great! The were friendly honest and I would call them again. read more

While I found you to be pleasant personally, your tech is either confusing my job with another household (i.e., I never asked to have the water heater moved across the room -- there is nowhere else it could go in that room), or engaging in a bit of CYA. And, once again, no one called me on Thursday; my call log verifies that. So I'm not sure who "tried to call" me. Your tech and office manager did a poor job of communicating with each other, you, and me. Charles came to my house to resolve an issue that I had ongoing for almost 2 months. The water heater was going off every few days and with the home warranty would be at least 2 or 3 days to get a technician. They kept sending a technician from another company (4x) to fix a water heater issue. All what those guys did for me was to start the water heater, but never, in fact care to resolve the issue. Now Charles in other hand came in and finally tackled what the problem by cleaning the filter that appeared to not be cleaned in years!!! Issue solved! Charles was also very friendly and was happy to answer my questions about the issue. The previous guy from another company didn't even know what was wrong and would refuse to verify if it was a part i malfunctions. In fact the person told me to find another company! I was baffled. This company was very difficult to deal with. We had no choice because our insurance company set us up with them. Our water went out and it took 3 visits to even determine it was broken even though all 3 times it wasn't working. On all 3 occasions they did not call us to notify us of a time prompting us to call them. They no showed the first time, the 2nd time the plumber essentially called us idiots because he said our water heater was fine only for it to break again 2 hours later and the 3rd time he was an hour late and no calls to notify us after my brother and I alternated taking days off work to be sure someone was home. The receptionist was extremely rude when calling as well. At no time did we sense any urgency from them to try and help us out. We have 3 kids and we just needed an answer to our hot water issues all to no avail. It's now 12 days later and ultimately we scraped the plan to move forward with this company opting to do it ourselves because we didn't think it was worth the trouble. read more

Called to have my water heater looked at because it was leaking and they came the same day. My husband works nights and was sleeping so I had to take care of it on my own. Charles and Pedro came out and were VERY knowledgeable. They really took the time to help me understand what the issue was and how to resolve it. On Wednesday morning I noticed I had no hot running water in my home. I called my home warranty company that day at 8:30 AM to expedite the repair of my hot water heater. They put out a blast to their vendors to see who could help me ASAP. Well...First Class Water Heaters responded within an hour to tell me they would be at my home within 1-3 hours. Unbelievably great customer service. Enrique was at my home by noon and told me I needed a new water heater because the pilot light wasn't working and the tank was contaminated from corrosion. I received a call back with an estimate from First Class 30 minutes after Enrique left my home. Then I received approval from my home warranty company for a new water heater. Enrique and First Class called again to set an appointment for them to install a new water heater. The next day Enrique was at my home at the stated time and did a great installation! I couldn't believe I had hot running water by 11:30AM the very next day!! Enrique was awesome!!! BEWARE: This is a low class outfit. The person they sent didn't hardly speak english, created more of a problem and then left. I am under a home warranty program and my problem is covered and I showed him in my booklet that it was covered, but the guy tried to get me to pay an additional $150.
