Harold ROCKS! I came in just after noon on a Saturday, and was helped right away. Small shop with a huge lot (picnic or bbq heaven I'll bet) and fair prices (standard rate for a small SUV). Got me in and out in about 10 minutes, and I passed (not that Harold can influence that, but it sure was good to hear ol' Bessie is hanging in there legally). Very clear explanation of what I was signing and what happens next: he e-filed with DMV when it passed so I'm good to go, but was also given a paper receipt to verify in case issues arise. I have done the smog in this shop for many years starting from $38 as I always have the same person doing the job. Last year, it was $40 for my other car. Somehow this time, I encountered a new person, who I told him that I paid around $40. However, he told me $47 is their price even if I shop online. He said that he already provide some discount. If not, the price is $50 something. When I came back home, I retrieved my last year receipt, which was $40. I also checked online to see if the other smog check stations went up. He taught me a lesson. I will make sure to shop around and do my homework before I take my other car for smog check next year. Never go without price checking. read more

I needed to get a smog check and First Class Smog was recommended by family. I requested a quote through Yelp and George replied with a flat-rate price that included the Yelp discount within a few hours. No appointment necessary so I rolled up to the STAR Certified/Test-Only smog service the next morning and was greeted by George. I mentioned the quote he gave me and he set me up to get the truck tested next. It wasn't busy on a weekday morning so the wait wasn't bad at all. I passed with flying colors. I paid George and he had the results electronically sent to the DMV on the spot. The private parking lot is small, but there is some side-street parking if there are no spots in the main lot. Look for Classic Auto Body & Repair shop and the Smog Check banner. This was my first time here and the service was great! Highly recommend this shop and I'll be back. read more

They said it wouldn't go below $60, but then they lowered it to $55, but Yelp and Google ads said it was $40, which was strange, but they said they would do it for $50 and said they couldn't do it anymore.
