Circled a bit to find the shop, but once I found it was in the back of the plaza, I was able to get serviced right away. Very small shop, I was the only one there. I found this place while searching for coupons for a STAR certified smog check center. This place had the best deal at $36.75 plus processing fee which came out to $45 total. They had a sign mentioning credit cards will get a surcharge added, which I didn't know beforehand but luckily I had some cash to get my smog check done for $45. I liked that they offered water and soda in the waiting room. Everything was done in less than 15 mins. Glad I got this done and over with. I would come back if the price remains competitive in the future. read more

I meant to write this review right away, but life gets in the way. I was procrastinating in getting my Star Certified Smog check. I went to my usual place the Friday after 4th of July and it was CLOSED! I began to scour through www.smogtips.com from my phone to search for a coupon and a place that would get me in right away since my license plate tags were due in a few days. I saw a coupon deal that was comparable to my regular place, and decided to give them a call. I spoke to George, who happens to be the owner. He said he would honor the coupon from Smogtips.com & there was currently no wait. The place is pretty tricky to find, hidden in an industrial complex on the corner, but there is a smog check sign in the driveway where you enter. George greeted me right away, and I was IN & OUT in 15-20 min! Now that's the type of service I'm talking about! After my coupon, the bill was $45. No problem! Still cheaper than other places that quoted my car. George is a one-man show who does everything. He told me that typically the wait time is approximately 15-30 min ..he only does smog checks all day long. Best to call to see how busy he is. Very clean establishment. I will definitely consider him again on my next smog check! read more

I have been to this Smog Express three times in the past couple of years. Once for my car, once for my son's and just yesterday for my wife's car which I needed to get the smog check done to transfer title as she had passed away back in May of this year. Each time I left completely satisfied with the service, cost and time efficiency. George had me in and out of there in about 15 minutes each time. Classic Bait and Switch Scam... I called to get a quote for the price of a Smog Check and was told $45. I purchased a Groupon for $30 off the price of a Smog Check. When I presented the Groupon to the owner, he said "Oh that's a different deal" and still charged me $40 (So same price I would have paid without the Groupon). I really don't appreciate this shady business practice. Response: Why wouldn't you quote the "regular" price when someone calls to ask about the price of a Smog Check? Do you automatically quote everyone a discounted price without telling them that it is a discounted price? How would someone even know what the "regular" price is then? read more

negative stars for this place. went here for a smog check. straight up scamed me. He said one price on the phone you get there it's a total different price. The quality of work was horrible. I'll never go here or recommend any to do your smog checks here!! they try to up charge you in every was possible. the technician didn't even throughly smog my vehicle. the car passed even though it wasn't suppose too. he offered to try to pass my car illegally which is against the law. i will be reporting him to the BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair) Luckily i went elsewhere for a honest smog check. Had a very horrible experience here at Smog Express. Went in for a smog check the guy that works at that location or idk if he's the owner (George). He was very shady he smog checked my vehicle then notified me moments later that it will not pass unless I pay him extra money so he can pass it. This quality of service was horrible and ridiculous. Why would you offer to pass my car at a higher price or even offer that In general. It's a plan simple pass or fail.
