I used to go to First Class Smog in Buena Park for last few years for all smog checks, but the place was too busy on the day that I called, which is why I ended up here. I think I will start going here from now on. Shop is cleaner and owner (Eddie) is friendly. Funny thing is I recently had my wife's car serviced at his brother's shop located on Orangethorpe & Valley View. This is a STAR certified test only center, which is what I needed for my car registration renewal. At the time of my arrival there was only one car ahead of me so I was in and out in about 15-20 minutes. All necessary documents were transmitted electronically to DMV and I got a paper certificate as well, just like at other smog test places. There's decent amount of parking but tend to get all taken up as there are numerous other car repair shops in this center. If you can't find parking, just park right in front of this shop and Eddie will take care of moving and parking the car somewhere. Price was comparable to other smog test centers, but didn't require having to use a coupon or Yelp check-in to get the lower price. read more

My mechanic recommended this place to us since it was time for our smog and registration. We went in the afternoon on a Monday and we were worried that our car might not pass since we had just recently gotten it fixed. I've been here three times. First time, they sniffed my car no problem. They found the water pump was leaking. Second time, I arrived at 930, but there was a lineup and I couldn't wait. Needed a smog test to register my vehicle and drove by on the 11th. Saw a note posted on their front door stating business will be closed and will reopen on the 14th. Fast forward, Sat the 18th, checked yelp again to make sure they were going to be open. I did see a previous posted giving this place "1 star" for not being open and answering calls. Guess they were still closed. Owner Eddie did reply with his cell#. Gave him a call Say morning and he answered, he assured me they will be open by 9am. Drove there and they opened at 9am sharp. Was assisted by a gentleman and he took my car in for the inspection, took about 20 mins from start to end. Used the help check in for the discount and total was: $38. Eddie did call me later that day to make sure everything went wel, I did appreciate that. He did explain why he had to close for the family emergency but not my place to state the details. I took my 05 G35 Infiniti on 01/11/22 for smog test and the guy there in charge who's the owner said my car passed everything but he failed it because a bit of black smoke was coming out of the tail pipe I asked him how can you say it passed then say it filed due to the bit of black smoke when they don't even put anything in the tail pipe to read the emissions it's all by scanner know, I knew this guy wasn't being honest and full of crap because he said there was an issue with my engine and it could be major problems that might cost a couple of grand,I know how to work on cars and there was nothing wrong with my engine so I took my car to get re tested @ Abel and Sons Star Certiffied @ 13453 E Imperial hwy Whittier Ca the owner Abel did the test and my car passed, Abel from the shop said my car never had any issues he doesn't understand why it was failed in the first place,Abel said that shops like Master Smog have a quota with DMV wich means they have to fail a certain amount of cars to meet requirements from the DMV Don't take your car to Master Smog in Fullerton he will take your $50 and fail your car read more
