I recently received the dreaded smog check letter from the DMV. I was doing some freelance work in Fullerton and decided it would be convenient for me to have it done somewhere there which led me to finding this place. It's not visible from the street. It's actually on the backside of Fullerton Car Wash. A tiny hut is hidden back there where you can get your smog check done. I gave it high marks thanks to it being the cheapest and quickest smog check I've ever had done. Plus the fellow working here was very pleasant and friendly. I read the Yelp reviews and clipped their digital coupon. I didn't use them in the end because it felt like they are gaming the public with their coupon fine print - discount only for cash payment. Went there Monday and had a hard time finding them since they are embedded in a large car wash. The cashier said they were closed (it was 4PM). Came back the next day at a little before 2:30PM. The same cashier said, "I think they are closed but you can check around back..." Found the guy. Pulled my car around back. Handed him the coupon. He said that's the cash price. Do you have cash? I said I only have $42 on me. How much is the card price. He said $60 [plus the additional cert fee]. I asked if I can pay him mostly by cash and the remainder on card. He said no. You can come back after you get the cash. I said if I leave, I'm not coming back. If the point of the coupon is to get people to come in, it worked. I even went in twice. I understand that there are credit card merchant fees but it's not $20 for a $40-60 transaction. They lost my respect and trust, not to mention business.
