Average for the area for sure. You can get the same flavor from most cafe's and save yourself some money. Totally not against it but also not for it. Service took longer than expected. Overhyped place and the food was not good. My daughter ordered a med rare burger and got a well done burger. The baguette was so tough it cut the roof off my mouth. Service was poor, not once did our waiter ask if all was ok or if we needed anything. Stopped by to grab a bite. 4 people, 4 order and a beer. I don't know if we speak and act like a tourist but when the bill come, the waited asked us if we wanted to add a tip. The food is not cheap, the bill came out to be a little over $136. I know a 15% tip (servis compris) is already included in the check. This is required by the French government since tips are also gauged in taxation. Because of this, a tip is no longer necessary but it's so hard to say no when asked. read more

Loved this place! Absolutely such a great location by the Eiffel Tower. Perfect place to eat, sit, relax, drink, and enjoy Paris. Actually I think this was the moment I fell in love with Paris. We were one of those tourists who got drawn into this restaurant due to the proximity to the Eiffel Tower. You even get a partial view if you get seated outside. The menu is available in English which was very helpful. Upon arriving we were able to snag a table for 2 within 15 minutes. The menu consists of pizza, pasta and a few traditional French entrees. We opted for a French Onion Soup, Linguine a la bolognaise, and Ribeye Steak and Frites. The soup was good and flavorful with tons of cheese with every scoop. The Linguine a la bolognaise was very bland. The steak was nothing special either. I think airplane food would have tasted better. IMO, the food was average at best. We got ripped off by our server today. He demanded a 20% tip and obviously since we didn't know the proper etiquette we obliged. Tipping in Paris is not customary like in the US. Even a sit down restaurant should be only 5-10% max. Worst of all, the food wasn't even good. Don't come here. Looks like other tourist fell for the same trap. I should have read these reviews before coming here. The problem with yelp is all the inaccurate "elite" posts get pushed to the top when the true post from legitimate experiences are at the bottom. Yelp should fix this so that customers can review the true experience from real people. read more

This review actually makes me really sad because I was really excited for this meal. *trigger warning: complaining about lame food* When a friend and I had a quick trip into Paris, we really paired down the must eats and sees. This was on the list. The location and aesthetics were beautiful. Directly by the Eiffel Tower is a huge plus. Buuuut here are the main points for someone hungry. Firstly, the escargot was actually delicious. So flavorful and tasty and I loved them. Secondly, the rest of the meal was so underwhelming... just bad My friend got Turkey Milanese and the turkey was tough, the spaghetti on the side was so bland. It needed ANY kind of spice or flavor. I got the prawns with risotto. The risotto was undercooked, bland and slimey. The prawns were seasoned thankfully but then.. to put the cherry on top... this whole meal made us SICK. Monday, May 16th 2022, 8pm: Robert the waiter was so nice enough to have me try an escargot since I've mentioned that I never had before. Since I was scared to not like it and not eat their serving of 12, he was kind to make that one piece special just for me! So I thank him so much for that! Tasted like mussels texture and came out still simmering in pesto and olive oil which gave it a nice flavor, not bad at all!! We ordered: French Onion Soup -So robust, not too salty, had lots of sweet white onion and also the cheese was delicious too. The ciabatta bread inside was nice and toasty despite being soaked in! Ciabatta Garlic Bread - Crunchy, yummy, buttery and garlic goodness! Tasted like it was freshly baked and the garlic with herbs really packed a punch. Medium rare steak with salad and frites - Steak was a bit chewy but really the flavor of it made up for it! Fries were freshly hand cut and the mesclun salad had a nice light Italian dressing in it. Prawns with Risotto - I'm sorry to say but the prawns lacked flavor, really needed salt. Also after peeling the shells off, you'll find some muddy residue from the shrimp heads and find yourself eating a much smaller prawn than what it looks like (looked brownish and grossed me out tbh) lol.. The Risotto was really nice, had kind of a cheesy texture to it and after peeling the shrimps I got to enjoy both at once but again, had to throw some salt in it for flavor. Pasta Carbonara - Very simply dish but really nice buttery and creamy taste. Bacon in France I find that it's different, they cut them in thicker sections and I believe it is cooked along with the sauce, which gave it that porky smoky flavor. All in all, this was a very nice place, good food and nice waiter staff. Food took a bit of a wait (or maybe felt longer since we were HUNGRY) but besides that, definitely satisfied with both dishes and service. Who would have thought I would found a great Italian restaurant while in Paris!? This was by far my favorite restaurant while in Paris, the food and service were overall great. This is one of the few restaurants in Paris that is opened late and it's located just a few minutes from the Eiffel Tower. I came here twice, once for dinner and then again for lunch. Both times I ordered the spaghetti bolognese which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. To drink I ordered the sweet wine that was on the menu (a must if you love sweet wines like myself). Everything was very affordable, my food was 14 euros and my glass of wine was about 6 euros. No reservations needed and the decor and ambiance is very casual. If you love Italian food and you're in Paris then this place is a must. read more

Firmine was recommended to us if we in the Eiffel Tower area so we tried it. It is a quick walk from the Eiffel Tower. The wait staff was very friendly. They were welcoming and very accommodating when it came to our lack of French. The restaurant is small and they make efficient use of every inch of the place. We had garlic bread and burratta cheese and prosciutto for appetizers. We order pasta bolognese (I can't remember the French name they had for it) and chicken Alfredo. All the dishes were very good. The lack of five stars comes down to the price. While we saw the price for the food ordered what we did not see was the price for the Cokes- 9 euro a piece! Once again, it's Paris and very near a major attraction but 9 euro for a coke that cost the restaurant maybe .25 euro? It was too much and the cost outweighed the benefit. read more

The hostess' are friendly. The waiter was ok. But we got seats at a table at the curb under the trees and when the wind blows parts of the trees leaves , pollen/seeds land on you and in your food. 10€50 for a coca cola is nuts. I question it and I got a shoulder shrug. Extra flavor in the dirty plates and water caraffe they bring you. Avoid this place its kinda gross enviroment and the food is not that good. The beef a la Ragu is like beef stew with watery marinara sauce. A can of chef boy ardee is better and is 18€ cheaper. Very sad this failed to meet expectations and the 110€ bill. Touristy but nice. My suggestion is to not order the steak. This is a pizza pasta place for sure. If you want a good steak look elsewhere. Otherwise this was conveniently located near the Eiffel Tower. It was crowded but the wait staff was very good at quickly getting you a table and if the weather is nice, I recommend sitting outside. If you have a larger party, they will quickly throw some table together. Just walk up to the outside entrance and stand there until personnel asks how many in your party. They will then frenziedly arrange tables and seat you. The lasagna and kids Penne was pretty good. Those are recommended but like I said earlier the the steak was good but had a lot fat. read more

Wanted to have lunch near the Eiffel Tower and we stopped by Firmine, which was around the corner. We got the Basil Ravioli and their Carbonara. The basil ravioli seems like a pretty small plate at first, but there is a ton of rich cheese sauce on it (really tasty cheese sauce at that), so it was really filling for me. The cheese sauce was actually pretty good when dipping the free bread into, if you needed to change things up. The carbonara is pretty popular here for very good reason. It comes with a raw egg yolk and once you mix it in, it makes the pasta taste divine, so don't shy away because of a raw egg! The pasta was cooked to perfection and I couldn't have been more satisfied with a bowl of pasta! read more

After a great Seine boat cruise, we were ready for dinner. It was a 10 minutes walk from the Pier & we arrived here at around 7 pm and they were busy. Luckily we were seated in about 15 minutes as we were okay with inside seating. Outdoor seating was at least 1/2 hour. One started with a strawberry Mojito which was excellent & two of us had a Grimbergen draft which was very tasty. For starters we wanted some Calamari based on reviews but unfortunately they were sold out. So based on our kind server's recommendation we ordered the Ravioles au Basilic which were rich, creamy and decadent. For main, we ordered Spaghetti Carbonara, Regina & Salmone Pizza. Two of us wanted to share the pasta and pizza so they cut our Regina Pizza in half and gave us an extra plate which was a nice touch. The Carbonara was some of the best I've ever had. Both pizzas were also excellent. Right balance of cheese and sauce and I wasn't sure about a tomato based smoked Salmon pizza but they pulled it off and it was very good. The pizza! WHOA! We just took a stroll at night to the Eiffel Tower and started walking around to find transportation back to our air BNB. Unfortunately it was late (or fortunately) but I'll digress for now. Although they were near closing, they said they would let us order a pizza if we'd like. Wow, I wasn't prepared for this pizza! First off in the states the pizzas are good of course, but the cheese I think is what makes it stand out. We ordered a few beers and a pizza with 4 different cheeses. But what I wasn't expecting is the cheese to be the best cheese I think I ever eat. This pizza took me for a ride with its taste of melted creaminess. Seriously I don't know how else to describe it. The crust was thin crust and toasted to just the right consistency. This was an orgasm of the mouth, is that even allowed to say? What an incredible experience. I will say that if you are near the Eiffel tower, this is a must to go to. If other pizzas are as good as this, then this is gold! The service was also amazing and I found it to be very refreshing when a waiter can come by and (although closing time is near) just be so accommodating and calm since he stated we could stay as long as we would like since they were cleaning anyway. Although we didn't take advantage of their hospitality we stood a few more minutes until I knew they were close to closing. A wonderful experience indeed! Service here was just astonishingly bad - we spent way over an hour trying to get two drinks and a pizza, and that was after 10 minutes trying to find someone who would seat us. My gf is Latina, so maybe all the reviews about how racist this place is are right. That said, I don't generally knock off points for service, and the pizza and drinks were both very good, although VERY expensive (something like 70 euro for two drinks and a pizza). 4 stars for great food, selection, location, and value. Steps away from the Eiffel Tower, this place is a great break from an Eiffel visit. They have outdoor and open air interior seating making this a perfect place to unwind. The selection of pasta and pizza are superb! Their pizza is AMAZING! And the price point is ok. My only beef is that the service is quite slow. There are a total of three servers and these poor things are running around like crazy trying to tend to everyone. You see so many patrons raising their hand trying to get service and they just can't keep up. Perhaps Sunday is their busiest night? First night in Paris & I wanted AMAZING food. Firmine did it right. We had an aperitif (champagne & kir Royale), the best onion soup for app (it's huge, glad we shared). She had tagliatelle carbonara & I had crispy bass with spinach in olive oil & lemon. We had amazing wine suggested by the server & I wish I took a note of it. It was divine, we each had 2 glasses. The service was so friendly & wonderful. The ambience-Parisian bistro you would dream about from seeing in movies, etc. I had to stop myself from going back because with only 5 days, I needed to see more places!
