a glass of beer sitting on a bar
Shannah H.

Really enjoyable dinner for my husband and me. After a very long day of travel - marked with less than ideal snack eating - we were ready for proper food to prepare us for our next day marathon. I found Fireworks after searching for recommended Italian restaurants (surprisingly not many in the area). We ended up not ordering pasta at all, opting instead for the plank grilled salmon. It was Asian-inspired, with a miso rice cake and Brussels sprouts. Delicious and a HUGE serving!!! We also ordered a local beer. Fortunately for pumpkin lagers are on tap and loved up to the hype. This is a popular place. We didn't have reservations, but the bar had open seating and since we're in our grandparent meal era, we were able to grab a chair at 5pm without issues.

Bread board appetizers and a martini

Chris our server was funny and attentive. I love the openness of the dining room and the cocktails were great. We both chose the lemon chicken which was cooked perfectly with the potatoes. I would like to see them have several Different types on bread in the bread board appetizer. Every try I g else was great. We will be back!

tomato cheddar soup cup with bread + butter board

Wandered into this spot as the first big snowstorm of the season was approaching, and it was perfectly snug, warm, and cozy, with food to match, for a cold traveler. We had a bread board (just all kinds of bread + butter!), and I enjoyed a tomato cheddar soup cup. Our server seemed ready to go home, but with the impending weather, that was understandable, and it was still a pleasant experience overall. I would definitely return under better circumstances and try more of the menu!

Salmon dish

I really enjoyed my visit. We had made reservations, and so were seated promptly. We both ordered the blood orangesickle mock tail minus the nutmeg and it was delicious! We ordered the baked feta with flatbread which I thought was very good. My husband had the salmon and I had the gnocchi. Both were cooked well and tasted good. I'll be honest here, the salmon comes with some sort of rice cake situation. I tried a little of it from my husbands plate and thought it was the most delicious thing served all evening. Sadly, it wasn't part of my dinner so I didn't get to eat anymore than my bite, but I highly recommend, if you like salmon, get it for the rice cake thing. We also had tres leches cake for dessert. Very yummy. If I have one complaint it's that their dessert menu is lackluster. That might be a me thing, but I just didn't like the dessert menu-the tres leches was a special. The service was good, or food came out in a timely fashion-the appetizer first, then the entrees. We arrived at 620 and left around 740, we didn't feel rushed and we didn't feel like we were waiting an unusual amount of time. Everyone we saw seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Homemade mushroom and potato soup.

I went to the fireworks restaurant next-door to my hotel in Keene, New Hampshire. I wanted a rusty nail cocktail, but they didn't have any Drambuie. The bartender said he would make something similar and it was a perfect match to what I wanted. I had the homemade mushroom and potato soup, which was delicious. I had the Osso Buco, which was wonderful and came with garlic, mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts. And I tried the apple crisp with ice cream on it and it was wonderful. I recommend this place wholeheartedly.

The bill alone will tell you how this place does business. Asking customers to pay their employees health insurance and then nickel and diming them just for asking for a very small cup of sauce without being told so. It should be the employers responsibility to pay the health benefits of their employees, not the customer's responsibility. I don't like to patronize restaurants with owners like this... if anything, this should be disclosed before hand.... Thank goodness I ordered just a pizza, imagine if I was in a group with the bill being over $100?! I will not be returning or recommending to anyone. Manager said tbe reason I was charged for a small cup of marinara is that they are just like any other business and if you want more sauce you gotta pay for it. Luckily this week I went to a different restaurant and they did not nickel and dime me for more sauce! I'll be telling people to go there!

Spilled Tea Cocktail

Amazing service, I came here after a swim meet and the food was amazing. I had the bolognese and it was really good. The appetizers were also really good. Our server was really sweet and did an amazing job with giving us details about the dishes and drinks on the menu, and gave her honest opinions. I would definitely come back here.

I love meat, so this meat pizza is a perfect option. Lol!

Because we live well over an hour away, we make a day out of shopping in Keene and then pick up Little Zoe's "take and bake" pizza. We preheat our oven with the pizza stone inside for an hour, take care of our pets and do other dinner prep, then sit down to piping hot professional pizza! Little Zoe's offers unique combinations of extremely fresh toppings expertly arrayed on their own unique crust. The crust is light and crispy, nice and thin with a rim that is puffed but airy on the inside. Don't forget to grab some of their cookie dough so you can bake cookies while your oven is still hot! What's better than fresh, hot pizza followed by gooey cookies?!

The pepperoni has a strange sweet and off flavor. My wife and I both got upset stomachs the same night we ate the pizza. Nothing too severe, just an upset stomach. The ambiance is simple. There's a bench seat inside where you can wait for your order. I think there should be more seating options. My only other complaint is that one of the male workers who was trimming fresh basil smelled terrible--like pure body odor. It was off-putting, especially since I knew my food was being prepared around this guy. Would I go back? Maybe for the garlic knots, but definitely not for the pizza. Something was definitely off about the taste of it, and it made our stomachs upset. As soon as I caught a whiff of the stinky worker, I should have walked out. Would I recommend it? Probably, but I'd choose Cheshire Village or Athens before this place.

I went to the website, but didn't see the options for vegan cheese, so I called them and they confirmed that they did have vegan cheese. My sister called back to put in the order and the person taking our order gave us the full list of vegan "meat", put up with our waffling on number of pizzas and number of fry orders and was just wonderful. Don't be discouraged if you don't see the vegan cheese on the website right away - it is there, just select a pizza and start clicking around - or call them for excellent service! Underdog Pizza, much like Underdog himself, comes to the rescue! On pick up, the folks working told us about all the testing they have done and consistently still do of vegan products to make sure their food tastes good.. Their enthusiasm was infectious and when we got home and tried it out the testing definitely paid off. The vegan cheese was very tasty, as were the fake bacon and burger crumbles. Some solid pizzas. An unexpectedly awesome find which will help our family be able to more easily get food together when we are all in the area. They also have a gluten free crust and non-tomato pizza's to offer. And they have dairy cheese and other non-vegan products as well. Underdog pizza is conveniently located on main street in Keene - There is pull in street parking and some municipal lots within walking distance. They are kind of a "hole in the wall" style place with some seating and a Ms. Pacman game. Good for take out but if you are just out in Keene for the day, there is the option to sit and eat your order there. Their logo is delightfully 80's. Thanks for making our holiday easier.

2 People 2 Adult Beverages…read more1 Appetizer 1 Pizza (4 topping, Large) $64 (before tip) We were in the area and needed to eat. We saw Brickhouse Pizza & Wings and decided to stop in. We were greeted and told to sit anywhere we wanted. Ambiance: It's a smaller, fairly echoey restaurant, but it's a pizza joint... it's kind of to be expected. After a few, our waitress came and I ordered waters. For some reason our table was missing the drink menu... all others had one. It took a few minutes for our waitress to find one for us. I ordered the Galaxy Lemonade, Jennie chose the Bahama Mama. We were both very disappointed in our drinks. Minute clearly had the Blue Curaçao in it, but there wasn't even the tiniest hint of the Empress Gin... a gin with a very distinctive flavor. It was so lacking that I actually asked our waitress if it was forgotten. I think the drink should've been great, but the curaçao was overpowering the gin. There was 1oz of each liquor. I think 3/4oz BC and 1.25oz Empress might've made it better. While Jennie prefers sweeter drinks, the BM was VERY sweet-forward, lacking flavor from either rum. We are all about the "well-balanced beverage"... neither of these were. Our appetizer (5 Buffalo wings) & pizza arrived at the same time. I thought the wings were great. The heat/flavor ratio was damn-near perfect. Jennie felt they had a bit too much heat... I disagree :) Our thin-crust pizza was also great. Toppings: garlic, tomato, banana peppers, & pepperoni. I feel there should've been much more garlic on it, as it was ordered as a topping, but overall, the crust had a perfect crispness all the way under, so it could be picked up by the edge. We both enjoyed it! The food is worth picking up, but if I'm going to sit in a restaurant for food and drink, I'd like to enjoy the drink. For that reason, we probably won't be back.

It got very loud with everyone talking on top of the 70s/80s music that was playing. There were ample staff to keep up with the surge, and our waitress was attentive and pleasant, although toward the end a little scattered. The decor is fun, if not a bit dated. Bathrooms are clean. We ordered a garlic bread appetizer which provided 8 pieces of bread. We ordered the Chicken Marsala, chicken Parmesan sandwich, chicken Parmesan with pasta, and chicken Olympia. I had a bowl of flavorful minestrone before my dinner, my spouse had a house salad. Unfortunately my coffee was cold, but it was bold and tasted okay. They don't list non-alcoholic beverages on the menu or their prices. My spouse ordered just a plain iced tea, but we were shocked when the bill came and we were charged for each of the refills ($10.50!). My daughter ordered a lemonade, which came in a cute branded bottle. It was very good, not too tart or sweet. After dinner, we each ordered dessert: Choco cake which has a cute little mouse on top, the orange revani which was extremely sweet, and the limoncello cake which was by far the best of the three with a delicate flavor. The servings of food were generous and we were impressed with the quality, especially the chicken. We could easily cut through it with a fork. The sauces were pleasant and not acidic. For the four of our meals (with leftovers) and the tip (and the insane charges for the iced tea) we paid $197, which I felt was somewhat reasonable. I just wish they were more upfront about their beverage prices and refill policy. Most restaurants don't charge for tea and coffee refills.
