As a human, I recently visited Firestone Grill in Bakersfield and I have to say, I was really impressed by the quality of the BBQ. Always happy with my experience at Firestone Grill! Service is fast, even though it always seems busy and food is always really good, even though it's always served fast. I either get the regular cheeseburger or tri-tip sandwich, which both are huge and are two meals for me most of the time or a bonus for my wife lol...and I love that they are not greedy with their sides! You can get a small order of fries and share them! The tri-tip is served on a fresh, crusty toasted French roll with bbq sauce and plenty of juicy, tender tri-tip cooked perfectly! I add the homemade salsa and YUM! The burger sad to report is a frozen patty, which is odd to me, but is still seasoned and cooked great and the add on's i.e. lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mayo and a nice thick slice of cheddar cheese with a toasted bun make it delicious! read more

Made a simple request for a water cup with a lid, since I was taking my meal to go. The girl at the counter said she couldn't do that, I could only have one of the tiny ones with no lids. I offered $0.50 to cover the cost of the cup. She said she'd have to check with someone. She asked the owner back behind her and he gave a very annoyed response saying that they couldn't do that and I'd have to pay the full drink price of $2.50. I told him I just wanted a water cup with a lid and he looked even more annoyed and said it would mess up their inventory. Lame response and horrible customer service. Poor management!! For some weird reason the waitress held two of our ID's from our table of 8 in the full-service area. First of all who does that? You don't start a tab if you're doing full service. She then failed to give them back and because it was such an odd practice, the two people forgot she took them. One lives on the east coast and the other lives in Fresno. My husband had to drive 4 hours round trip to pick up the ID's and couldn't call because they have no phone number! The manager was extremely lame about it and didn't give him the time of day. I have been coming here for years...always considered it a decent sports restaurant/bar. Now I find out it is a Political Haven. I rushed there to lunch to watch the US women soccer game with England, only to be told, after I ordered, the restaurant was no showing it on their many TV's, because of "political issues". They just couldn't resist jumping on the political bandwagon. At lease have the guts to post a big sign at the door telling people you have taken your political position, so we don't order our food and then find out. Found out they just changed their happy hour from everyday 3-6 to Monday -Friday 3-6. Happy hour is the only reason why I choose this place. If you sit at the bar or service side it's just mediocre.... nothing to rave about. Would be a four star review if they didn't change their happy hour... also trying to get a hold of them is near impossible... I don't think they even have a phone in the building! This place is awesome! If you want to just chill, get a beer, and watch some sports this is the place to be. I like that there is a bar in the middle of the restaurant with multiple tv's surrounding the place. I've tried the tri-tip cobb salad and it is delicious. It's smokey, fresh, and fulfilling. I also like the basket of fries that you can share because it is huge. The tri tip sandwich is delicious. I come here almost every week because everything is good and the prices are decent. The Tri-Tip sandwich was absolutely delicious! The French fries were fine, just a bit too much salt. The ambiance was really fun, and there were plenty of TVs to watch the games from different angles, no matter where you sat. We ended up sitting at the bar, and the bartender was super friendly and attentive. The only downside was that the TV sets were a bit too high up. Watching the game was a bit uncomfortable, and my neck hurt after a while from tilting so far back. If possible, I think they should lower the TVs a bit. read more

Always our go to spot when we are hungry! Love their trip tip sandwich, their salads, fries, and onion rings. Everyone is always friendly and there are plenty of seats for everyone. You can go with friends, drink beers, and watch a game. I've never been disappointed with my meals here. Prices are very decent for the amount of food you get. The service is always great.
