I have been searching for an fair and friendly mechanic in Tucson since I arrived three and a half years ago and I finally found one here at Firestone by accident! About 10 months ago, the battery in my girlfriend's car died while we were at the mall. Because Firestone was closest garage, they got our business. I remember we were in a hurry and they totally bent over backwards to help us out. Fast forward eight months later, she is having issues with the battery they sold us, and they replaced it with no questions asked and only charged $15 bucks to get it done. So when I had a similar problem with my car we came back and the service was just as prompt, friendly, and honest as before. The prices are fair, they were upfront and forthright with what they were going to charge, and they didn't pressure me into services that I didn't want or need. But what has impressed me the most is that they don't talk to or treat you like you are an idiot. They explain things in plain terms and answer your questions thoroughly. Mechanics / garages are the hardest thing for me to recommend, but I would stake my reputation on this place, they will not do you wrong! read more

I came to this Firestone to have my power steering system looked at and fixed after the Jiffy Lube on Oracle did a poor job the previous day. Long story short, the mechanics at Firestone revealed that one of the hose clamps installed by Jiffy Lube was not secured at all, and my power steering fluid was obviously flowing freely from this huge leak. Firestone only charged me the $20 inspection fee, fixed my problem and topped off my fluids and oil. They were extremely professional and most importantly, did what they said they would do. Best part is that it is part of the Tucson Mall, so you can kill time in the mall instead of sitting in the waiting room (although their waiting room looked much better than Jiffy Lube's.) I am a cheapskate at heart but I was happy to pay the $20 to have Firestone fix it properly. Jiffy Lube was trying to sell me a new power steering pump for $300. I would highly recommend going here! They are even open on a Sunday! I had a nail in my tire the day after Cinco De Mayo and I was bummed as Discount Tire wasn't open. I wanted to try this place since it is next to the mall and all the reviews. KIM D. was amazing! He was very nice and knowledgeable. They only charged $20 for my tire and I only had to wait for one hour, which was fine as this place is next to the mall. Very happy. He didn't try and sell me tires and said my car was in great shape! This place has my business now as they are honest to women and very friendly. This is easily the best shop in Tucson for autocare when it comes to customer service. The shop is fast, thorough and polite. The sales manage Christian is a funny guy who keeps things vague a bit much by saying "essentially" tons of times but he definitely makes you feel at ease about the work that needs to be done on your vehicle. The mechanics here are good at what they do no matter which one works one your car. The store manager, I think his name is Kim (strange name for a guy but whatever) seems to know what he is doing when he employs his team. Even if a mechanic is not the fastest one there, that mechanic definitely does not just rush your car in and out of the shop just trying to make a bunch of money. The sales associate Alex is a very intelligent and young kid who holds himself very professional when he speaks to you. I have been to this shop 3 times over the last year for oil changes and they caught a suspension issue the first time. They replaced my tie rods and I ended up buying a lifetime alignment but they have only had to align it the one time and I have had it checked every time I have gone in. They have this skinny mechanic named Brian who did the alignment and it hasn't gone out since. They hired two new mechanics since I have come to this shop and I have noticed that since then their shop is by far one of the cleanest shops I have seen in Tucson. One of the new mechanics, I think his name is Shawn, talked to me for a bit while he was cleaning, he was very polite and attentive even though he was sweating and seemed busy with cleaning that shop he made time to chat with me for a bit which was nice. This shop may not be the cheapest in Tucson, but when it comes to guaranteed work, great customer service, professionalism and cleanliness. It by far outdoes every other shop I have been to in Tucson and it doesn't have dealership prices. As long as they keep this up I will never go to another shop again. read more

There's nothing worse than having plans on a Sunday and walking out to a flat tire on your car. Firestone was able to fix my tire in a pinch, quickly and efficiently, and for a modest fee. So far most other place I've gone for tires/tire repair have been really hit or mess but the people at Firestone seemed really professional and put-together. I'll admit I haven't had anything other than tires done here so I can't speak to their other work but they were very straightforward about what to expect and there were no surprises or attempts to upsell us. Did I mention they're open on Sundays? I discovered that's not as common among tire shops as I thought it was. read more

I have written few reviews and only write when I feel truly compelled to do so. Kim at Firestone Complete Auto revived my belief in customer service. You know when you are tired of getting destroyed over and over by the cable companies, and the cell service companies, and every other company out there? This place restored mine. When driving home from getting my starter taken care of, my air conditioner completely shut off. They ordered a new part for me, had it installed, and because I had to wait and come back to the same place, they provided the service at no cost. The air conditioner was no where near my starter, and I have a very old car, and it just happened to fall apart. Kim could see I was really frustrated with my car and wanted to provide me complete service so he did so at no cost to me as a customer. Over a year ago I bought tires online and had them sent to this Firestone to get mounted. Recently I noticed the tires had "inside" embossed on the sidewall. It turns out they were mounted incorrectly. When I brought this to their attention and had my receipt in hand, the manager immediately scheduled an appointment for me to bring it in. My battery was dying on a 100 plus degree day today. I stopped in at this Firestone because they were nearby and I'd had good service from them once before. Despite the fact that they were absolutely slammed with everyone getting ready to travel for the 4th of July holiday, the manager checked my battery for me, confirmed it was failing and had one of the guys replace it for me, all in under an hour. There's a Firestone on Ina in Tucson that I swear by. They are amazing and polite. They aren't pushy and always treat you well. I always went to them for anything, knowing it may cost a little more than other places but worth the customer service and not being lied to about issues that didn't exist. When I moved, I thought my local Firestone would be the same. It's not. This location does not meet the same standards. I went in today to have my tire pressure checked and was told they could not check my spare tire without ripping the cover that is on it. They said it was too fragile and couldn't do it. I knew this wasn't true because I had to ask them to check it when my light didn't turn off and the dude was avoiding doing it. He told me the light would turn off when I drove around. I went to another shop down the street who did it with no problem. Should I also mention that all 5 of my tires (spare included) are from Firestone?!? I've been a loyal customer for years and spend way too much to be blown off like that. Completely disgusted with this encounter. Also not my first time having issues with their staff. I will be going out of my way to go to the other location and I recommend everyone avoid this one too. read more

I love that they are open on the weekend. I had a flat tire and many of the places my road side assistance company tried to take me were closed. It took less than an hour to replace the tire. I was told by both Brake Max and Brake Masters that I need rear brake pads and the rotors resurfaced to the tune of about $200. I knew they weren't being honest with me because my brother had checked them out and told me they were fine. I wanted a professional opinion, and these places had no problem lying through their teeth to me. However, the gentleman here at Firestone by the Tucson Mall was very honest with me. He told me I didn't need my brakes done at all, probably for another year at least. Also, I was prepared to fork over about $400 for some other work I thought needed to be done. They honestly told me I could wait on that too, and I left with a smile on my face. It is so refreshing to be able to trust someone to tell me the truth about my car. I had a bad experience with another corporate store last year in california but I did have a lifetime alignment on this car so made appointment. They installed two new tires in back, and checked and adjusted alignment along with oil change and inspection. Very professional. In and out in prescribed time. Courteous. Great service from Alex and Kim. Honda told me that with an appointment it would be 1-1/2 hours. Firestone got me in and out for an oil change in about 30 minutes. Everyone there is super helpful and nice. I've been there twice in the past two months and they've been nothing short of amazing. Especially Kim, the past two times I've been in there he's always explained everything they are going to be doing and everything was also done in a timely manner. Definitely will be recommending this place to family and friends. I don't enjoy ending up at a repair shop but going there makes it a little less dreadful. This place is a joke and full of ripoff artist. I took my civic in for a service and was told that to replace my a/c condenser and fan would cost me over $600 and that was with their 25 percent discount. The condenser was priced at $240, same exact model online cost $32.00. And the fan was priced at $126 same one online cost $41. And the drier needed was quoted at $59 and online only cost 7.99. I would think twice about taking a car to this location even for an oil change. Looks to me like they are in the business to rip people off that don't have a clue about fixing cars. I feel bad for all the old people and I'll informed people out their that get raked over by this company on a daily basis. read more

Much better than the Firestone on 1st and Wetmore...I came here for an oil change and I also had a flat. The employee explained that my oil change was performed fine, but he suggested that I take my flat tire back to where I purchased it (Discount Tire) because they would not be able to repair it. He did not try and sell me an entire set of tires or any other BS, although he did give me a quote on how much comparable tires would cost there. 4 Stars because I felt like I was really being helped out, but they are slightly pricier than their competition. read more

We have 2 vehicles always use firestone. This location is horrible. 1 vehicle was only to be balance not listening they rotated now car unsafe drive. 2 vehicle oil change rotation alignment. During all this nothing mentioned about half inch crack deep enough showing belt. They did NOTHING. Stated tires were a 6 and all were 4. Never said battery near failure status nor brake needing flushed. Tech walked away chatted w random driver 20mins causing normal 90min process to be nearly 2hrs. Tech James very reckless when driving vehicle in out of bays. NEVER use this location. read more

The guys at this Firestone are amazing. Kim is so helpful and nice and understanding (I have had some crazy car issues and I know nothing about cars but they never make me feel silly or stupid). They always explain EVERYTHING in detail from what is wrong to exactly what they are going to do. They have proven themselves honest and trust-worthy and I would rather pay what they charge for their amazing service and guarantees then ever take a short-cut with my car somewhere else again. I've been to this location multiple times for getting flat tires fixed on my car. They are very friendly and accommodating, they always give you all of your options and prices before that start work on your car. Most recently I got a flat tire and went to a different location to get it fixed. After 2 and a half hours of waiting they finally fixed my tire but broke my tire pressure sensor and would need to replace it. They told me that they would order the part and call me when it was in. After two weeks of waiting they still hadn't ordered the part and we're refusing to order it until I made an appointment. When I took it to the Tucson Mall location to get it fixed there instead they ordered the part and had it fixed in a day. Great experience, no hassle. Highly recommend this location. read more

This may sound silly but being a young woman I've never gotten my car serviced without having the mechanics either be condicending or trying to sell me on services I know I didn't need. At this shop I felt respected and comfortable as soon as I walked in. They took exactly as long as they said they would which was perfect. And when I came in to pick up my car they said things that were in yellow on the diagnostic sheet were easy enough fixes that I could do them at home. Usually I'm used to the whole sheet being in red and not one thing was this time. It was quite wonderful! Lastly The two gentlemen that helped me were helping an older gentlemen when I walked in up, the man was a bit loud and confused about something to do with the oil they used in his car and the two mechanics were patient and understanding in a situation that could've honestly gone the other way. It was very impressive. This place is fantastic and I'll absolutely be back and have already recommended to several people! read more

I've been asked before where do I take my car for check up,I always tell them of this Firestone all the employees are great. there has been many times they could have sold me something I really didn't need but they never did,in fact they awlays looked to see if they had coupons so to give me a discount,they are honest people and they explain everything if there is anything to be done they lay it out on the line,honesty. I always feel great when taking my car here. Kim runs the store with integrity and is a very fair and trustworthy man. They always go above and beyond when i need help on my Mazda and it's a great feeling.They also never try to sell me anything i don't even need and they never pressure me to make a decision, something that is foreign to these other big chain "shops". Christian and his staff at the Firestone store on Oracle and Wetmore (Tucson Mall) delivered one of the most impressive customer service experiences I've ever had. I brought my car in for a routine oil change during the last hour Firestone was open. Despite my calling last minute, Christian was very kind over the phone and said it was no problem to perform the oil change and have my car ready 15 minutes before closing. When I arrived, he educated me on the best oil type for my car based on its mileage. Most auto-repair shops will recommend changing oil every 3,000 miles, which I believe is too often. I have always changed mine every 5,000, which is exactly what Christian recommended as the perfect time to do so. I picked the upgraded high-mileage oil type per his recommendation since my car has over 75,000 miles on it. I did not have a coupon, but Christian offered me the one currently advertised anyway. I went into the adjacent Tucson Mall to meet my dad for dinner while the Firestone staff worked on my car. When I was almost done with dinner, I noticed a voicemail on my phone from Christian. I called back, and Christian explained to me that my serpentine belt was cracked beyond standard, and that he had called me a couple of times to gain permission to replace it. Christian said the belt was so cracked, he did not feel comfortable with me driving the car without a replacement, and notified me that he had his staff start replacing it despite him not being able to reach me. He said he did not want me to feel as though the replacement was forced, so that he would do it complimentary. The charge quoted for this was approximately $112. I thanked him over the phone and returned to pick up my car. When I came in, Christian showed me the old belt. He explained to me what the standards are (1 crack per inch belt I think he said), and showed me how worn my belt was so he could help me understand why the replacement was necessary. I offered to leave him a tip for replacing the belt complimentary. He kindly declined the tip and simply asked me to return to Firestone for future auto work. I only have very basic knowledge of auotcare. I cannot express enough how much I appreciate Christian's help, both educating me on how to properly maintenance my car, justifying his decision to replace the belt, and doing so complimentary since he could not obtain my permission prior to starting the repair. I am still shocked that he would do something of that cost complimentary, and already in addition to offering me the discount from a coupon that I did not have. I would recommend this Firestone to any one of my friends and family and will continue to go to this auto-shop while I still live in Tucson (and will seek another Firestone store when I move).
