Called the day prior to ask if I could make an appt for next day (Sat) for two new tires to replace mine. Had two other new tires added a couple months ago. Verily easy to schedule on phone and went in next day. Greeted by Sean as I entered Sat- and just the nicest person to visit with as he got all set for me. My appt was at noon and although al the service itself was a tad delayed, it worked out well for me. I had a really nice waiting room with coffee choices and water available to get if wanted. TV in there but not on and truly all I need is phone to get things done. When appt was complete, I was already in lobby and Sean let me know only one tire guy there due to call outs and explained why it stretched a bit. It was fine, I understand and then as checking out, we chatted and spoke about the awesome rural places we both reside. He spoke of his family and way of life and that few minutes just made it so much more pleasant to get this necessity completed. I showed up late morning needing a battery put in my Ford Transit. They were quite busy, but the manager told me they could take care of the under the seat battery swap if I came back in 2 hours. True to his word, I returned 2 hrs later and an experienced mechanic had me back on the road in less than an hour. Service with a smile. I highly recommend this location! read more

I made an appointment to bring my motorhome in to get the AC charged. I took a half a day off of work so that I could get this done. I showed up today and the manager was gone. He had to go to the Audi dealership to pick up some parts. The little baby mechanic said there is no way he's going to service it because he doesn't work outside. I went and had some lunch and came back. The manager said that he couldn't do it because the AC unit would overheat if they pulled it outside. I run a very large company with a lot of heavy equipment, but it's across town. I know for a fact that it won't overheat. We charge air conditioners outside all the time. It was just a lie to pacify the little baby mechanic that needs a pacifier. Edit- I just want to stay that the manager, Shaun (sp?) is one of the nicest and most accommodating shop managers I have ever met. However, I don't know if I'll ever go back as long as that teeny tiny little itty-bitty mechanic is still working there. Trust me, I saw him talking with some other customers yesterday when I went to schedule my appointment and that guy is the most insincere, self-important, person I have ever seen. Went to Tanque Verde location 2 years ago for brake service...the quote they gave me was $1800...I took my vehicle to Mikey's auto...they fixed the problem for $400...all the issues brake max told needed to be fixed weren't needed at all!!! Fast forward 2 years later...wife's vehicle started to over heat...I kind of knew that it's probably just a thermostat issues or a sensor of some sort...so I decide to give brakemax another chance...they're very close to where I live so it was just the convenience and maybe they might have changed with the upselling tactics and dishonesty....nope! They never called after the diagnostic test or whatever...I had to call them...first they tell me I need two new tires, my a/c was fine and my water pump was leaking....and I needed a new thermostat...over $1200!!! For replacing the water pump and thermostat and oil change...so I asked how much just for the thermostat and oil change? Over $500...so I told them let me call you back...I called Mickeys...explained the situation and problem...they told me the price brake max quoted was crazy! They told me the part is roughly $30 and it's about an hour of labor...probably at the most $200...including an oil change! When I picked up my vehicle I told them you're ripping people off and taking advantage of people who don't know...the guy at the front counter just said OK. Please don't ever go there...I was foolish for thinking they may have changed after the first time...nope...the absolute worse place I have ever dealt with...and I never ever think about writing reviews!!!!!!!!! read more

Cordial and efficient when I took my vehicle in. They provide a quiet room to wait in if it won't be long. They made sure I had transport to and from home when I needed it. They're listed as a service provider in my insurance company's referral area, which put my mind at ease a little more. I just discovered the Breakmax on Tanque Verde. I had brakes done on my GMC truck. They did such a great job. I then took my Mercedes CLK for an alignment. It was pulling to the left. Found a bad wheel bearing. all fixed and the car is driving great. Adrian worked on both vehicle. He takes pride in his work and does a wonderful job. Even found the last shop I was at put in the wrong battery. He checks out your vehicle completely even when you go in for something simple he is extremely thorough. Above and beyond! I don't care if your slammed and busy I went to Jack Furrier tire and auto care turned me away. I came in by myself in a Landrover without anybody in my car and far from home. I had a tire spewing air. He did not even care to look. He said I'm busy I'm sorry I can't. So they told me to go to Brake Max and the owner came out personally looked at my tire and put the spare on free with only 20 mins to close. Update: 6/7/2022 (5 stars for the district manager) I received a phone call from the district manager, he was very apologetic and sincere. He also was professional and courteous. He didn't make excuses, which I appreciated. He stated he couldn't change what happened but wanted to make things right. He refunded my payment in full. Though I appreciated what he did and his level of service, to date, I stand by my first statement. He did say that there would be changes at that location so my experience won't happen again to someone else. I hope this is true. I did see some posts here saying they had no problems so good luck to anyone else who goes there. read more

Buyer Beware! Daughter went into Brakemax with a coupon for $29.99. Manager said the coupon was for 5 quarts and her Toyota SUV took 6 qts. Charges were for $81!! This was only for a blended oil change. No other services were performed. This place will obviously take advantage whenever possible. How can you trust them to work on your car and not overcharge you for parts or services??? My wife and I are very upset as we recommended the place. Stay away!! read more

we went into this shop and asked for a estimate on repairs. we have full extended warranty and asked that we just get a estimate on repairs for issue. they wrote a list of needs a mile long then treated me. bad for not wanting them. then then over charged me so much that the warranty company reused to pay it all because it was over market value for the repair. best part was the repair called for under two hours of work. this is a slow store that wants to pay the rent of the three customers a day that they get. do not go here read more
