I used this business before and after I retired from the US Army, so that's why I was so shocked to have what happened to me the other day. I stopped by because I needed tires replaced on my vehicle. I bought the tires from Walmart and requested them to be installed. To my surprise as he was asking for my information and while typing it into the computer, I heard him say "Normally we don't install tires that were not bought by this business". Not loud enough so others could hear him. I then decided not to pay him no mind because I been here so many times and received excellent work. But, when he ask for my phone number and as I gave it to him he responded by motioning his finger to his ear as if he couldn't hear me and wanted me I guess to talk louder or repeat it. As I black man I've seen this type of racial behavior before so I quickly said never mind and exited the store. This guy has a reputation of this type of behavior towards blacks but I never had him wait on me. I will never go back to this place but I will make my point of view noted on Yelp. read more

Had issues with an over heating engine. I didn't even make it 24 hours before the engine over heated again. Had to get a tow and they said they missed the bracket/ rod and the technician didn't check the specs for my car and didn't know about the fan. (Apparently that was the problem) had I known about that I wouldn't have gotten new tires that they said I needed. I knew I was going to need them soon and had planned on replacing within the next three months. So I paid $1201 on Saturday. Had to take off work Monday (loss income, thanks Firestone) and now have to pay an additional $930. Do NOT use Firestone unless you want to be paying for the same problem multiple times. I will say this kind word, the staff up front is very polite and respectful. I'm more upset about the technicians. read more

Bad business model. Will confirm your appointment just to call you & tell you they don't have anyone to do the work and offer another day you didn't make the appointment for. They told me there's no way not to accept the appointment. And as for the hours of operation just give your business to someone els. They leave early shop is basically empty from workers at 2pm. Plenty of other places happy to do the work for money. Hard to schedule around, inaccurate hours of operations, poor communication & Im just not confident in the skills of this crew after speaking to them. Best to avoid. read more

So glad I brought my car here. These folks were transparent and reasonable with my car care, and they fixed it up so much that I swear it feels like it drives better than it ever did before! Seriously, driving my 2007 Ford Focus drives MUCH smoother than it ever did before my check engine light came on. My engine started overheating and the power steering completely stopped working on a Sunday, when few if any mechanics were even open. Firestone was one of the only places open, so I managed to get my car into their lot. They were really busy and backed up, which they told me right away. They made it clear that they might not be able to get to my car that day, but that they'd try. I really appreciated this transparency, especially since most other mechanics I've ever been to seem to grossly underestimate how long it takes to complete a repair. I was fine keeping the car there, since I couldn't really drive it anyway. These guys actually ended up calling me sooner than I'd expected to update me on what they'd found and what they'd recommend. I was impressed by how on top of things they were - I've rarely been called by a mechanic without having to give them a call myself first. And I was glad they told me what their recommendations were before completing any sort of repair without my permission. We did have to talk about price for the repair, but I think our end deal was very reasonable all things considered. They got everything taken care of, they were polite, and they didn't try to hide anything from me. I should have known better after my previously similar experience in California. Aggressive up-selling of their credit car (no, I don't want to save $40 and take a hit to my credit score), and high pressure sales. Obvious blurring of "alignment check" and "alignment", seems to be a Firestone cornerstone, so they can upsell you on that too. Yes, it does say "alignment check" on the quotes you get, but it's not really clear what that involves, since the sales guys are too busy running their mouths. You car almost certainly needs an alignment after you get tires - which is why I asked, and didn't get a clear answer. And as a bonus, rebates - feels like it's CompUSA in 1999 - no doubt many people will not get around to filling these in. I'm sure Firestone thinks this is all OK; after all, upselling is common in big automotive chains like this. But shame on you. Be clearer in your quotes and ditch the aggressive sales people. tl;dr this place seriously floods when it rains and their insurance won't cover the damages to your car. I hardly ever give 1 star reviews but I need to warn people about this place. We recently brought our car here for an alignment and the garage flooded due to a rain storm (seriously flooded -- there were cars floating out into the street). Our car had about 2 feet of water in it. Now, I understand that things happen but the way this company handled everything has been a nightmare from beginning to end. Firstly, they would not share their insurance information with me. This was a red flag. One employee actually saying the words "that's above my pay grade." Other things that were said to me while I was trying to get insurance info from them: "Oh flooding happens here all the time. We just tell people to call their insurance companies. That's why you have insurance right?" Excuse me, no. Why should I file a claim with my insurance when my car got damaged at your garage? The manager finally got involved and said that he will not file a claim for us until we pay the bill for the services they provided. Lol. Seriously? Our car got totaled on your property and you are refusing to file a claim until we pay for the now worthless alignment? My husband ended up calling corporate directly to try to file a claim that way. After waiting more than a week to hear back, we were informed that this garage doesn't have flood insurance and since the rain was an "act of God" they will not be covering any damages. So I guess leave your car here at your own risk? I'll be finding a new place to get an alignment from now on. read more

I LEFT MY CAR IN THEIR CUSTODY FOR SIX HOURS AND NOW IT'S TOTALED. This garage should be shut down immediately but they are still preying on unsuspecting customers. Read other reviews. Go literally anywhere else. One star is one too many. Full story is below. ====================================== This shop floods every time there's a heavy rain. Guess what they don't mention when you bring it in... On top of that, they did nothing on my work order before calling me to tell me it was complete. They then tried to tell me I had to pay my bill before I could have my car towed away and that they weren't going to cover any of damage. These guys give mechanics a bad name. My vehicle was involved in the July 6 flood (it made the news) and they have stonewalled and refused to accept liability. The shop told everyone to go through their own insurance. Firestone Corporate says "Sorry, good luck." How this is place is still in business is beyond me. I dropped the car off at around 9 in the morning and asked them to: - put on the new wheels and tires I provided. They were in the back seat. - perform a standard alignment - do an oil change. They called me at about 4pm to tell me it was done, but it was raining something unreal. I told them I'd be down once the weather broke. Welp, I went down at 5:30 to find Banksville Road closed with cars from Firestone that had floated into the road and up onto the median. I parked at the BP next door to try and figure out what to do. I was not allowed into the shop, but while I was waiting to hear about my car, I heard the manager tell the tow truck driver that this is THE THIRD TIME THIS YEAR his shop has flooded like this. No wonder he called me before doing any work on my car... I finally got to see my car and noticed that the wheels and tires I brought them were still in my back seat. I bought new wheels and tires after hitting a pothole on 79N which bulged the sidewall and bent the rim. How the actual h*ck could you do an alignment on a car and not notice a damaged wheel. Wouldn't you see that and think, "Huh. Damaged wheel and tire... brand new set in the back..." The only way any of this makes sense is that they just didn't do it. To add to that, I popped the hood and found black oil and a dirty oil cap. I was about to drive over 1000 miles through the Appalachian mountains. Would have had a pretty tough time proving my engine failed because I had been scammed at home, but there it is. I got back from vacation and went to see the car on July 17. They had it sitting outside. The associate gave me my key so I could go look at it. Foot wells still full of water, seats and steering wheel covered in mold and the smell inside was unreal. No effort was made whatsoever. Didn't even shop-vac the water out. I tell them I want to file a claim against their insurance. The associate tells me that he filed a claim for me earlier that day (TWO WEEKS AFTER THEIR GD GARAGE FLOODED WITH MY CAR IN IT, MIND YOU). I told him I'd be towing it to a shop and taking the key. I specifically asked him if I have to settle out before I take it. He says I'm all set to take it and nothing is owed. I have this entire conversation on video... Then, the boss calls me the next day and says I have to settle my bill! "We need an invoice to file a claim," says he. I don't have an MBA or anything, but I'm pretty sure after it's paid, it's called a receipt, you crook. So he's telling me I cannot take my totaled car that they are not paying for until I give him the $250 he feels entitled to. Recall that this is after his associate told me to my face and on camera that he filed a claim for me already, so one or both of them are outright lying. Throughout this entire process I was repeatedly told that there was no phone number for me to call to file the claim myself. They said it's all handled through their computer system. I finally wised up and went to the corporate website to look for a number. Had a claim number, a promise of rental reimbursement, and the info on my bill taken (seemingly to be voided) within 5 minutes. A week later, some schmuck tells me it's an act of God so I'm out of luck. Good thing I never got a rental. Unbelievable. read more

I don't leave reviews but this place can't be trusted. I took my car there for inspection and they quoted me $1700 of work in order for it to pass. Took it elsewhere, and magically it passed as is. Grand total was about $50. granted, some items were close to needing replaced, but they still pass. So glad I gave it a second thought or I would have wasted about $1650. read more

I recently took my VW Jetta in for a suspension noise and a new set of tires. On the phone I was quoted close to $400 for the tires and inspection out the door. It was closer $600 because they didn't include all of the fees, tax and such. Took car in for continuous suspension noise. Firestone stated everything looked good and tight in the suspension. They even claimed to have driven the vehicle and said there was no noise. I took the car to the dealer for an oil change without even asking them to look at the suspension and they noted that I should change the stabilizer bar links. The guy that me and my husband spoke to stated that we MUST buy 4 tires just to have one bad tire changed. We just wanted one tire to be replaced. He didn't offer anything else just dismissed us. 7/2015 I took my minivan back as usual to have an inspection done and upon getting it back I noticed that a front quarter panel and light assembly had been damaged. Jeff suggested they would put a replacement turn signal light assembly but did not accept my body shop estimate for the quarter panel. It seemed pretty obvious that one of the techs may have run into the interior or exterior wall of the building they are in as the flat grey paint was on the car. I spent several months getting the run around from their conflict resolution department higher ups after escalating the issue with corporate. They give the appearance that they will return your calls then never do; all in the hopes that you will give up I would assume. I didn't but they still try to settle with you for less. This isn't the only time they tried to sell me a line of crap either. They once did an inspection for me the year before and insisted the brake rotors be replaced when I had just replaced the pads myself after the initial inspection and they were in good shape. I've heard other horror stories recently too. read more

-- PLEASE READ MY REVIEW BEFORE CONSIDERING THEM FOR STATE INSPECTION -- I have a 1999 Nissan Sentra and I went to these guys a week before my inspection expiry date, after reading these google reviews. I drive this car almost regularly, so I know that the front axle is making a bit of creaking sound due to rust issues. I gave them my car at the end of the day (around 4 pm) for inspection and until 15 mins before they close (which is 7 pm), they never bothered me to call. I called them up to inquire what's the status. They said "Sir - we were going to all you and wanted to inform you that you have to do some work on the car in order to pass the inspection." When I asked them what all things need to be done and how much that amounted to, they said "..... and it's coming to $1300 .. oh no, just a moment, its $1203.65 incl of taxes." I almost jumped out of my window, as none of my previous mechanics told me any issues with the car. I was so worried that I made an appointment with one of trusted mechanics, but wanted to sell of my car because of this huge cost (my mistake). Somehow, I waited for my mechanic to give me an appointment and when I took it to them, they passed the inspection like nothing ever happened to my car (as usual). They gave me estimates as below:- 1. Inner tie rod end (left inner) - $89.99 (Actual price on rock auto is $7.65) 2. Inner tie rod end (right inner) - $89.99 (Actual price on rock auto is $7.65) 3. Left CV Complete Assembly - $159.99 (Actual price on rock auto is $50.99) 4. Right CV Complete Assembly - $159.99 (Actual price on rock auto is $50.99) Bottomline - Please think twice before going to these guys, because they are no less than car showroom dealers. They will charge you less for inspection in Pittsburgh, but come up with this huge list of repairs. Yay! I'm a fan - So Far ... Fingers Crossed. I made a random stop on my way home to check on the price for a tire mount since this place is only few minutes walk from where i live. Came back next morning around 9am (Sunday) to drop off the car for the tire mount along with few other fixes including brake pad/rotor replacement and alignment. After reading some of the recent negative reviews - I was hesitant at first about doing the extra maintenance (brake pad/rotors and alignment) here but gave it a shot since the the price quoted for the brake pad/rotors and the alignment was much better than few other places. The turn around time was a bit longer than I expected but I can understand since they ran into few issues as they were working on the car. read more

We took a Jeep Commander in for inspection emission and it needed a CAT Back, no problem. We come back leave the shop the check engine light came on and it was smoking, we brought it back. They said they left a sticker on the exhaust and there was a code for speed control causing the light to come one. It was not on before or we could not have gotten the emission sticker! I offered they fix it or we are taking ti to the dealer. Needless to say it is on the way to the dealer. It is no coincidence I am now having problems when I did not have any problems before we brought it in! I do not trust them try your luck if you dare. Got new front brakes and an oil change - it was the BEST car shop experience of my life! They were so polite and helpful and it was not just me. Every person who called or came into the shop got the same experience. The staff are all around pleasant and the work was done in a timely manner. I had no appointment and they took me right away with a full garage of other cars. The current deal for front brakes was $99 and that included the pads, labor AND resurfacing the rotors! My oil change was $22.49 for the synthetic blend oil and new filter. Plus they checked my back brakes and rotated my tires for free. I will be going back when I need work in the future. I just wanted to say how awesome this Firestone is! I noticed I had a nail in my tire with a leak at 6pm tonight and I panicked bc I have nursing school clinicals at 6am. Missing or being late to a clinical is a big deal, so I couldn't risk not making it in the morning. I had originally called 2 Costcos in the area that were open until 8:30 pm (where I had purchased the tires) and they both told me there was no way they could squeeze me in. I then called my nearest Firestone (this one, open till 7 pm) and the gentleman said to bring it right in. I got there at 6:20 pm and they were done by 7:10 pm (they stayed late to finish it and were super nice about it too). My wife and I recently visited this Firestone before a big road trip. The previous week we had a tire blow out and replaced at a place on the turnpike, so we were a bit concerned about any other tire issues or alignment issues. They gladly took the time to go over our car and drive it around the block before telling us that everything is fine, and they don't need to fix anything for us. I completely expected to walk out of there spending money on something(new tire, alignment/balancing, etc), but we didn't. My wife had tried to find a quality reliable place to take our vehicles. We tried a few but always received horrible service. We needed new tires on one of cars and we gave Firestone on Banksville ave a try. I believe they were running a sale on tires and that's what drew us in. We received such great service, we have been going back ever since. I believe it has been 3-4yrs now. We take our cars there for oil changes, inspections, tires etc... We usually just drop our car off in the morning and let them know we don't need it until later in the day, but they typically call me an hour or so later letting me know it's ready! I have met several people that work at this location and have always had great customer service and quality work done on my vehicles! Thank you!! read more

I come here more then I would like to.I do not have anything negative to say about the customer service, professionalism, the amount of time it takes them to complete my services, or the atmosphere. All are very good. The customer service is always very nice. They explain what they recommend for your vehicle, answer whatever questions you may have and do this with a nice demeanor. They always welcome drop ins, however i prefer to make an appointment. The work is always completed in a shorter time then they initially say, which is nice. I, however, think that the service charges are a little high, like most places. I would also like it if they offered at least one childrens tv station or coloring books for when kids have to wait too. That would make the wait experience easier/more pleasant. Overall, i think the service and care here is very nice or I wouldn't have trusted them for the years I've chosen to come here. read more

I normally wouldn't leave review twice for 1 place but what happened tonight made me want to write another one. Since My work is far from this store (40 mins drive), i had to drop my car off to be fixed and pick it up after work (8pm). The store is closed at 7pm but when i arrived at 8pm, i still see the store manager (Laura) and couple other mechanics working on customers' cars, which impressed me by how hard they work. So what happened was i wasn't able to unlocked my car because my key fob doesn't work for some reason (and that's the only way I can unlock my car for now). I knocked on the door and Told Laura what happened. I felt so bad because it's out of their business hours. Without thinking, she ran right out to my car and helped me to open the trunk as requested, with the hope that I can get in the car when the trunk open (my car is an SUV). She even showed me to get a new battery and where to get it for the key fob. Without any luck, she grabbed another mechanic (I forgot to ask for his name) to help me open the trunk. He tried and tried and tried for a good 15 mins and finally got it open. I was so happy that almost cried. If only they didn't work hard and still be there when I came, if only the manager and the mechanic wouldn't have a strong work ethic, i would be stuck there still and waited for AAA (and who knows what time they will come). thank you very much Laura and the mechanic, who could have turned away and said "sorry it's out of our business hours/ i don't know what else to do for you/you can get a new key fob battery/ call AAA", but didn't do so. I did, am and will continue to bring my car here to fix because i know this is the place i wouldn't be taken advantage of for being a girl, who doesn't know much about car.
