I paid $130 for an oil change for this and will now have to spend hundreds of dollars in Ubers to get around town until the shop *hopefully* gets back to me in the next 1-2 days. Awful. UPDATE: I returned to the shop to have it reattached, they said it was done. I double checked to ask that the front driver side wheel cover was also secured as that had been hanging down and dragging. He confirmed it was. Once I drove home and got there, I heard it dragging again. I double checked and it was still hanging down, dragging, and now the whole wheel cover is shredded. How do you miss that??!! I called back to tell them I need a replacement and they're claiming it's not their fault and that they didnt touch that. My car was driving absolutely perfectly before the oil change and they're telling me it's a coincidence that the piece that THEY REMOVED and reattached to change my oil is now dragging and damaged.

I normally dread going to any kind of automotive repair shop because I fully expect them to try to rip me off any way that I can, but I could not have had a better experience. I explained what I needed to Scott and he made sure to have someone fill my tires immediately and even though they didn't have time to change my oil in that moment, he made sure to have them check to see how my levels were doing before I left. While I was waiting for them to put air in the tires, he struck up friendly conversation, gave me tips about not having too much weight on my key chain (and gave me a free carabiner), and had me try some of his pickled garlic cloves when we started talking about food. He had absolutely no incentive to be this kind to me, knowing I didn't live in the area - it was purely just his generosity and authentic kindness. I WISH this place was in Los Angeles! I'm seriously considering driving to Phoenix every time I need something for my car since it was such a notably great experience. The office has a ton of awards hanging up and they are well deserved! Absolutely delighted and that's why I have used Tech Plus Automotive for 3 cars, BMW M550i, Toyota Highlander Hybrid and now BMW X5 for many years. They are the most honest and thoroughly professional auto shop I have experienced. Their work is timely and often costs less than originally quoted. Ownership changed hands in 2022 but many of the highly skilled mechanics remained and the front office service advisors are top notch as are the original highly skilled mechanics who remained and providing quality repair work. I am extremely disappointed with how Buddy's Auto Repair & Alignment handled a serious issue after…read moreservicing my transmission. Shortly after their transmission service, my transmission failed while I was out of state. The service center that inspected the vehicle documented that the transmission fluid level measured approximately twice the specified operating range at operating temperature...was over-filled. They also found low and fluctuating pump pressure and diagnosed an internal pump failure, ultimately recommending replacement of the transmission due to so much internal damage. When I spoke with Brian, the owner, on June 19, I explained what the other shop had found and asked whether the transmission might not have been drained properly before being refilled. Brian immediately responded that it was his "best technician" and that he wouldn't have forgotten to drain it. He told me he would speak with the technician and promised he wouldn't "blow me off." He never called me back. After waiting eighteen days, I called him myself. Instead of following up on the concerns I had raised, the conversation took a very different direction. Brian stated the transmission had been slipping and shuddering (two of the EXACT symptoms I reported to him during our first conversation after experiencing transmission failure) and that this had been documented on the inspection. None of that was mentioned during our first conversation, even though he had the invoice and information in front of him at the time. When I originally picked my vehicle up after the transmission flush and fill (along with wheel alignment and drive belt replacement...general maintenance items), they told me everything was fine and did not mention anything being an issue after working on my vehicle. The original invoice states the transmission was refilled to the proper level using eight quarts of transmission fluid and that the vehicle was test-driven. The subsequent inspection by another service center documented a transmission fluid level well above the specified operating range. Brian ultimately offered to refund the invoiced total amount I paid for their service plus an additional $500 as a customer satisfaction payment. Considering I ultimately had to spend approximately $5,000 to replace the transmission with a remanufactured unit while being majorly inconvenienced when out of state, that offer did little to address the financial impact. What I found unacceptable was the lack of communication, the failure to follow through on a promised callback, and the unwillingness to meaningfully stand behind their work when I was facing a very large repair bill. I hope sharing my experience helps others make an informed decision. I can only speak about my own experience, and based on how this situation was handled, I will never go back to this business.
