After noticing the light was still on, I had a mechanic Bryce take a look at it. He used a scanner on my tires to find the sensor was going bad. He was able to take me that day, and within a hour, I received my car back! Great service with helpful people in a timely manner. I don't normally write reviews but because the service was so bad at this Kaneohe Firestone, I had to write one. I took my truck here to get the tire pressure monitors changed. simple right? I got my truck back with more problems that weren't there prior to taking it to this Firestone. I went back to tell them about the issues. They denied any responsibility and said take it to the dealer. The worst part was the attitude given to me by the male employee at the counter. when I came into the store, nobody was at the counter. The male was on the computer and laughing at something that he was looking at. He completely ignored me for a couple of minutes and finally looked at me annoyed that I interrupted him. He didn't say anything and nodded at me. I couldn't believe the way he acted towards me. I told him about the problem and he made an appointment for me to bring the truck in to be looked at. As recommended installer this Firestone mounted and balanced my rear tires uneventfully. Courteous and let me know the crew had to stay after their closing time to complete all the work from a busy day. No problem. Dropped off for an alignment a few days later. While waiting, i received an email report that my front end had parts that were no longer serviceable and I needed both front and rear replacement tires. I called and was told the inspection wasn't done yet but vehicle would be ready when I got back since requested alignment could not be done with the issues found. The car was still on the rack when I arrived. I was walking from outside to check in with the front desk. I overheard someone in the service bay cussing with reference to my brand vehicle and parts were not available. I heard instructions to tell me it would be hours before my car could vehicle would be out together. I was asked if I wanted to wait or come back. Alignment could not be done due to front end issues with multiple parts needing replacement. I asked why the report said my tires were worn and recommended to be replaced. I pointed out the sticker was still mostly on the tread surface and I drove it easy maybe one trip to town. These were new tires the store had installed a few days earlier. Told me if i had an issue with the tires I should take it up with the company I bought it from. They just install them. At that time was offered to do my alignment if I wanted even though the parts were not available saying it wasn't that bad. No thank you. Not one time and not the lifetime package. Background. Had tire replacement done at recommendation of my mechanic who did a tuneup and brake service with flush and fill. Front end was checked at time of service. They screwed up the most basic of services. I discovered a flat tire on a Sunday and had to get it patched asap so ended up at Kaneohe Firestone. They patched it. Later on, my tire pressure sensor warning came on. But there was no flat or loss of pressure. I know these sensors can be pesky and I'm super busy so I left it that way, knowing there was no issue with losing tire pressure. Then I had routine service at the dealer and that warranty should cover what I thought was a bad sensor. Turns out, the tire pressure sensor warning was on because there was no longer a sensor in one wheel and it was the wheel that Firestone Kaneohe patched. I have a newer vehicle and am the only owner. That was the ONLY time a tire needed any work; the flat repaired by Firestone. That is the tire that the car dealer discovers NO LONGER HAD a sensor in it. Firestone did an internal patch on the tire, meaning that had to take the tire off the rim during patching. The dealer could not understand what Firestone did, other than maybe they put a new stem on the tire that was not equipped with a sensor. The dealer said they could not warranty it because there was NO SENSOR to inspect and send back to Toyota Corp. Again, Firestone was the ONLY one to have done anything to that tire. When I talked to the Firestone manager, he gave me the "ok we will get back in touch with you" and never did. Brushed off by the manager. If I add it all up with replacement of the sensor by the Toyota dealer, a simple tire flat repaired on a Sunday ended up costing me $565 and change. Firestone has banners up touting customer service. Lies. Guys, a flat repaired by what is primarily a tire store is the most basic of services. And they effed that up to the tune of $565. You have been warned. read more

This is my first on yelp but I had one incident before... to make it short, last year the mechanic did not tightened the lugnuts on three tires where the driver tire started to wobble on the road. Today I failed the safety inspection, my window tints were too dark, I had the car for almost ten years and no modifications were made. Not usually my style but Customer service is horrible especially when you talk to Kathleen who is supposed to be a manager. Someone from the staff messed up on our appointment and she couldn't even admit to the mistake but instead argued and made excuses that it was our fault. Well also said all calls are recorded and monitored so obviously it would have the conversation of when the appointment was booked. Never giving my business here again after this. Our family has been coming here for years but she didn't care and said that's okay go somewhere else. I hope that they really have phone records cause then she'll know she was wrong. I brought my car in on a Wednesday. It had been slowly leaking air and I knew there was a hole somewhere in my tire. They were able to accommodate me quickly. I told them that I needed it to be done by a specific time due ti needing to pick up my kids from school. They ended up finding a nine inch nail in my tire that punctured in two places. Therefore, it couldn't be patched. They offered to put on my spare tire for me or to purchase a new tire. I opted to just get a new tire and they had it changed by the time I requested. I scheduled for the install on a Monday, a week after they arrived, after never getting a notice that they had even arrived. I had to call them back the following Thursday, several days after they had re-opened, and they acted like it was my fault for not calling ahead. What type of Mickey Mouse business does that?! One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. Booked a 3pm appointment, and the team did not begin work until 4:30pm. When I asked about the delay, the manager (Richard) basically told me it was my fault for booking the last appointment of the day. I told him I didn't think the whole situation / explanation was very professional, and he told me I clearly "didn't understand how cars work," and "there are lots of other auto shops out there, you should try one of those." On my way out the door, he called out that "there's probably good auto shops on the mainland too" -- was he implying that I should leave Hawaii because I wasn't satisfied with his service today? I used to receive excellent service here...but my last 2 visits here were less than expected. In fact, simple things like placing a liner on the floor mats so the oil from their boots don't stain your carpets in a luxury car...should be AUTOMATIC! Who wants oil stains on their carpets!?! I have been coming here for over 15 years. However, I've since learned that 2 key employees left working here. Marty I know retired., he was great at communicating and customer service. The other employee was a good mechanic/supervisor. He left abruptly...I don't know the details but probably tired of the BS. I didn't check if the job was done right before leaving...just assumed it should be working properly as assured. Right? Well I got home and said to myself I better check if my rear light is working. Excellent customer service! I has a screw in my tire and called to try to get it patched. First I tried Goodyear and Lex Brodies who said they were booked for the day, I didn't even think of Firestone but a quick search of tire places near me led me here. 345 I called, the gentleman who answered was friendly and yay they could take me right away! Got there and the friendly and efficient customer service continued from the phone. The gentleman who helped me at the counter and the one who rung me up were very kind and helpful. Best of all the job was done by 500. In and out! Tire all patched up! They do an inside patch where they take the tire off and do a fire seal that is supposed to last the life of my tire, and I have a 1 year warranty, all for a reasonable price. Excellent experience! I was told that the hours online and what was posted on their front door was not accurate, and they were closing within the next 15 minutes. Even as I write this, it still shows this Firestone location as "open" online. I'm really disappointed in the lack of care and customer service. You set up an appointment for, let's say, 9 am and get there on time. Your car most likely won't be moved from where you'd parked it until 2 hours later (and that's if you go in and say something). What's the appointment for then?! After they've completed the work on your car, you have to hunt the parking lot to see where they've parked it. Gave one star because it's required. Schedule my apptmt at least a week in advance and my appmt was at 9am and was advised my vehicle would be done by 12pm. At 11am I was advised that my vehicle was next to be serviced. At 12:50pm, I noticed my vehicle wasn't worked on so I asked another customer what time their appointment was and they stated their appointment was taken at 11 but they came in late. However, they had already started working on her vehicle. Because i was upset, I asked for my keys and the receptionist didn't even hestitate....she didn't question, apologize, reschedule, or anything. No customer service!! I had fan belts replaced at Firestone and was informed that water pump may have a leak. After a few weeks, I noticed coolant on the ground and went back to Firestone and asked to have water pump checked to make sure that was the source of the leak before replacing. They did a diagnostic because my "check engine" light was on but I already knew that it was the thermostat because they had done a code scan on a prior visit. Diagnostic reviewed nothing different. They also did a radiator/coolant test and bill me for both $199. I refused any more work done when they said it would take another $900 to complete the work (thermostat and open manifold to check for leak) they are not sure where the leak is coming from. It would have been apparent if they did a pressure test and it would have shown that the water pump was leaking and no other test or opening the manifold looking for leak would be necessary and checking all the hoses including heater hose (what does the heater hose has to do with coolant leaking) We never use the heater in Hawaii. I felt they just wanted more work to increase charging the customers for unnecessary repairs and that is why I refused to have them do any more. I don't feel that I should have been charged $199 for no repair work done. It was wrong diagnosis (still did not find source of leak) and diagnosis that I already knew of (thermostat) and Firestone wanted $932.43 on top of the $199!!! read more

They asked where to park- he stood there with attitude, glaring, as if they should read his mind - then disappeared. They waited- then went inside and found him there. Then they changed the tire but did not let him know and let him wait there for 2+ hours. He went in to complain - got smirks - no apologies. At 1:45 the day of drop off the "manager" Richard leaves a message saying their backup due to technicians calling in sick. I asked why he called so late as I had to cancel my pickup ride. Richard said he has no control of people calling in and he had to call everyone before me to cancel them also. I said if someone calls in sick it's usually in the morning so why did you wait till 15 minutes before my "confirmed" time, his response:" that's, how it is". I made an appointment on line with this Firestone for a safety inspection as it was going to expire soon. Firestone emailed me a confirmation and reservation number. When I showed up at the appointed time, the woman I spoke said I couldn't have received a confirmation because she didn't have anyone there who could do the safety check. I showed her the email I received. She was completely unsympathetic. She told me that this happens all the time with the on line booking and that I should have called!! I asked if she could take me the following week as this was the last week of the month, and my safety check was going to expire soon. She said she couldn't accommodate me. I said that I couldn't understand then as the manager how she didn't take responsibility for the mix up, and how she never apologized for the inconvenience. She just looked at me blankly. Today while running errands for my grandma in Kaneohe my dad thought that one of his tires was flat and sure enough after swinging by Firestone he was right. The location is organized, clean, and the staff was very friendly however because we stopped by about a few hours before closing they were in a speedy rushed mode in order to get everything wrapped up. $95 for a new tire and to change it out, not bad but the entire process took about an hour and fifteen minutes. I felt as though this could have been cut down by about half if all of those other "routine tests" were not conducted. It's great to know that all of the cars fluid levels (oil, transmission and water ), engine, and other tires are doing well however the issue was that one tire that had a nail in it. I get it that is a bad economy and this is a method to up sell services and products but if you all wanted to get out on time and are rushing to do it, you could just take care of just the issue which was the tire right? Either way my dad was grateful for the thoroughness, the printed report of the check up and having everything checked on again. read more

Would have say my review is mixed. Came in to have a tire puncture sealed and thought they were great 5 stars. When I needed new tires came back thinking this is a great place, wrong. Must got the bunch warmer. I made an appointment for 2, so brought the car in just before 2. The guy at th counter said give them couple hours and they close at 5. I came back at 430 think good to go right? Wrong, they were just taking the car in, didn't even start yet. I guess they don't close at 5, I'm still here and it's past 5. You would think coming in the morning right when they open would be best.. Well, quite the opposite. There's usually a line and each customer takes a while as I've experienced. Making an appointment in advance is key and still prepare to wait.. Regardless of that, the service here is really good. Their prices are cheap and the people are all friendly, from those working at the counter to the mechanics. It's a lot better than some other place that I plan to review soon! Hah. The people here are also really knowledgable. When recently buying new tires, they really were able to explain the differences and recommend whats best for your driving style. They really do care in what suits you most and isn't into just trying to sell you something expensive for no reason. In the waiting area they have a TV and a few chairs, maybe 5-7. I can't remember exactly, and there's Times and Quiznos and other shops around the area if you need to wait while your car is being serviced. read more

Granted it took 4 hours to look for the problem with my cooling fan. But it was worth the wait. Technician Ricky explained what he was doing & why it was taking so long. He couldn't find the problem. My cooling fan worked fine. In fact he ran my air conditioning & it was 40 degrees. It never got hot at all. When I called spoke to Advisor Amber she did say upfront it would take couple hours. She also gave me landmarks to look for their location such as Fire station & Times. In fact, they share the parking lot with both places. It was worth the time & it saved me money. Needed to have a tire purchased & installed. Price quoted over the phone was $86. Come time to check in I get a print out quote for $90. Saw a fee for scrap tire recycling fee $4.12. Told guy @ the counter that I wanted the old tire so put it in the trunk. So upon picking up my car the charge was still $90 & the old tire was in the trunk. I was like how can you charge me a disposal recycling fee when I'm taking the old tire with me? Sales person said that's just how it is! What's happening to honest businesses now days?
