It's been a couple of years since I've brought my cars here, since I've been doing my own repairs and maintenance, but a safety check is something I can't do on my own. They're usually pretty accommodating, but when I drove in for my a few weeks ago for my online appt, they told me that it would take about 3 hours before they could get to it. Since I couldn't wait that long, I scheduled another appt, for today (20 days later), at 2pm, and they said they could get to it right away and be done in an hour. The actual service here is okay (not great), but they're fairly proficient in expediting the service, once they get to it. One thing that shocked me, was how much the showroom degraded. It used to be a rather clean and convenient place to relax in the past (for a tire service shop). I can't believe they let the floors get this bad. They were covered with dirty scuff marks, and they removed the little coffee table, and the TV wasn't working. Just from a business standpoint, as a customer, when I see how dirty the sales showroom is, it makes me wonder how much care they put into their actual repair service. I'm glad I'm just here for a safety check. read more

I'm incredibly disappointed with the inconsistency and customer service here. Yesterday, I came in to buy two new tires and spent over $500. While I was making that purchase, they were more than happy to accommodate a walk-in safety inspection for that vehicle at the same time. Naturally, I thought I'd bring my second car in the very next day to get its safety check done as well. Despite having just dropped over $500 with them less than 24 hours prior, I was completely turned away and told they wouldn't take me as a walk-in for just an inspection. It leaves a really bad taste in your mouth--it feels like they are only willing to magically find the time to "squeeze you in" if you're spending big money on parts and labor. Loyalty and returning business clearly don't mean much here. It's a shame, because I was ready to make this my go-to shop for both of my vehicles, but they just lost a returning customer over a basic safety check. read more

I really hate to bash this place because I know a couple people that work here. Usually this place is okay, but... I made an appointment for a safety inspection online on December 14 (appointment for January 8). I called them on January 2 to confirm they still have my appointment. The guy on the phone told me that they do not take online appointments made on their website! I told him that this is ridiculous and why do they even have that option on the website?!? He told me to just come in on my appointment date and time, and they would be able to squeeze me in. So, I show up on my appointment day and a 10 minutes earlier than my appointment time. The guy behind the counter tells me that they are already booked for the day and the inspector is backed up and not going to be able to squeeze me in as promised. Then the guy at the desk says "next time you need to call in and make your appointment"....what, NEXT YEAR?!? Long story short, I had to take the FAT L on my wasted time, and made an appointment 3 WEEKS AFTER my originally "SCHEDULED" appointment. Moral of the story: Don't book your appointments online. read more

Apparently lots of places in Kailua are on a "pause" for safety checks. I had to call around to 3 or 4 places. I've never been to Goodyear before, but I am so grateful they still do them! From calling to make an appointment to actual encounters with employees they were super friendly and professional. They were so patient and kind when I walked in like a dummy without the papers needed for a safety check. It didn't take that long--but the waiting area was clean and had AC, TV and coffee--so not a bad place to wait. Mahalo again Goodyear for taking care of my car! read more

I went in with an emergency flat tire the day before Easter - Luke was amazing - they didnʻt have my tire size but he found one for me at another shop and when they said they didnʻt have time to change the tire, Luke let me go buy the tire from the other store, bring it back to him at Goodyear, and he installed it for me. I was stuck with a flat tire on a Sunday afternoon, and Kailua Goodyear was right around the corner, so I went into the store for help. A gentleman named Luke immediately assisted me and helped relieve my stress by listening to my situation. He calmly said, "Don't worry, I'm here to help." Luke even walked back to my car with me and helped put on the spare tire so I could safely drive my car to the shop to get my flat tire fixed. Once I arrived, the team took care of it quickly--it only took about half an hour to get my tire fixed. I truly appreciate and value the kindness, professionalism, and quick service. Had Goodyear Kailua put 2 brand new tires to only have the side blow out within 5 days (less than 250 miles on it) . No help or support from them and they hung up the phone on me. Truly believe they did this on purpose because I couldn't come in earlier for my scheduled 4pm appointment. They said they can't mount and balance 2 tires before 6pm. (They were upset) After taking my truck to another shop to only find out they OVER PRESSURIZED my 2 front tires to the Max PSI (50psi) To why the sideway blew out within the first 5 days. I needed two of my tires changed and the guy helping me was super helpful and nice. He accommodated my needs to have them done by noon on Sunday but we were there at 8 am when they opened on Sunday morning. The value of the price for 2 tires was cheaper than the other location we were going to go to. I still need to replace the two front ones when I get paid again. My boyfriend actually paid for my two tires. He is so sweet to do that. I would definitely come back even if it's worth the wait. These guys are pretty quick and changes out the tires fast. Highly recommend these guys. They didn't have an waters or a coffee maker out but they did have pods lol read more

The customer service is usually pretty good if you don't expect them to honor your online appointment. It happened twice and we learned our lesson. Second time took a bit of persuading to keep our appointment. These guys do good work and are usually quick. The guy that works the front is always sweet. Rushed to get to Goodyear Kailua on time only to be told by the clerk that "they reached their limit for the day" and that they wouldn't be doing my safety check- even though I had made a reservation! Google says they're open Sundays, and the website allows you to schedule an appointment, which I did, just to get there and read a sign on the door that says they're closed Sundays besides that, I went there to get tires changed and they decided to tell me that the tires I selected online were out of stock once I arrived, no courtesy call nothing. I am a fairly new customer of Goodyear Kailua. Both times I was helped by Freddie at the front desk. He was such a pleasure to work with.. so personable, helpful and thoughtful to his customers. I saw him warmly greet a few other customers by name. He let me know I could get a tire rotation included w my oil change. Yeah sure! I'll go back to work a little late for that deal! But they delivered within their initial timeline which made me even happier. Time is important. But Freddie was the icing on the cake and made quite an impression on me. we have spent thousands of dollars at this shop on tires and services as they are our neighbors and we wanted to keep our business local. they have scratched our rims to complete ruin at this point during basic tire rotations with oil change. when asked what they would do to repair the damage they lied straight to our faces and said we damaged our vehicle (though it was in their possession while damage occurred) they will deny all liability, you must take excellent photos of your vehicle and rims before they touch it and even then they know you would have to take them to small claims court for any retribution. super disappointing and now our vehicles rims are rusting and destroyed the manager (damon I believe?) will hide if you ask for them and they will just try to get you off their lot as quickly as possible they have many 1 star reviews so we should have known. read more

I had my tire patched. No issues with service and the price was fair. My reason for the 1 star rating was the technician left my car battery on with the radio playing! My car must have been sitting in their lot with the radio on for 2 hours. When I reported this to them they could only offer an apology. Been with the company going on 3 years. Right before I started I had them put on two tires for my truck. I notice during my spring detail the tires are now splitting at the side wall and they have ripples in the side wall. Will they warranty them? NO! With 10/11 32nd on them. Apparently its my fault because I don't have the original invoice and they can't look up tire purchases past a year and a half?! This is why I will go to firestone/Bridgestone. They were able to find tires I bought 10 years ago in about 30 seconds! Also told it wouldn't have been an issue if the DOT on the tires were within 5 years old but to my amazement they are from 2018 meaning they put tires on my truck that were already 4 years old! I would not buy tires from this company at all and after working for them nearly 3 years I can attest to the crappy quality of the tires compared to other brands. Got a 4 hour trip coming up in less than 3 weeks with the family and now we have to pay almost $500 for two new tires that would be under warranty with any other supplier including Walmart. read more

Please avoid this store. There are many choices for auto care that actually want your business. I took my truck in for alignment and was given a list of parts that needed to be replaced before the truck could be alligned. It was an older truck so I believed the technician. I changed all the parts (wheel hubs, upper ball joints, lower ball joints, etc.) I returned to get the alignment done and was told that the technician that gave me the list no longer worked there. The new technician gave me a new list which included the rack and pinion steering system. I left defeated and ended up selling the truck. I bought a new truck (2022 chevrolet silverado). I bought new tires for the truck and took it in for alignment. I was told that the upper control arm bushing was loose and needed to be replaced. I took the truck to a different shop and had all the bushings and joints checked because it seemed weird for a 2 year old truck with 11000 miles to have worn front end parts. The front end parts were fine. I called and made another appointment with Goodyear and asked for a safety check also. This time I was told that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced so the alignment and safety check could not be done (I have never had the steering system checked during a safety check, must be something new). I took the truck to Island Brake and Alignment in Waipahu. I asked for the alignment and if they could check the rack and pinion system. The truck alignment was completed and there was nothing wrong with the steering system. When I called Goodyear Kailua to ask why I was turned away 4 times for alignment and told that parts were defective when they were perfectly fine...I was hung up on. I will never go back to this store and I will recommend to everyone that will listen..."Go somewhere else". I am giving this review 1 star because 0 stars is not an option. It is unfortunate to have to travel over the mountain for decent auto care. read more

Omg! I've been to this Goodyear a few times. But today, Martin the mechanic put a huge smile on my face. He did something so simple but it made me happy/relieved that it wasn't something more serious or costly. My intentions were to come in early. Because EVERY time I come, I'm always told they're overwhelmed and etc, but they do try to assist me in small ways in which I appreciate. Today Martin happened to walk in and hear me talking to the guy in the front and offered to check my tire pressure. I stated that's already been done, one tire was lower than the others, but the light is still on. So I was about to walk out and just come back another day so they can take a good look at my vehicle. Glad I listened to that inner voice lol. Martin was confident in his work lol. While he was working on my vehicle I noticed the tire light indicator went off and he "confidently" said, "I know." I guess I was so excited the other mechanics said he's tha man. And we all laughed. Martin too the time to explaine afterwards why what he did worked and what I could/should do in the future. Very excellent fast service. Guy with glasses was very helpful to getting me best deal for Kelly tires and accommodated me to getting in. Service guys were very fast and efficient to installing tires and careful. My car instructions were a little complicated bit they manage to get it done. Had my spared replaced with my front driver side at ease. Drives very smooth now. Thank you goodyear. Dropped my car off on a first come first serve at 7 am for nail removal from tire, they said they can only do 10 per day. I was number 1. We requested they get us in by noon. I called at noon and they said "sorry" but we'd be ready by 6. Okay, fine we'll wait. At 5 pm they called and said they couldn't help us and we'd should go to dealer rather than paying them because under warranty. it took me a few days to write this review because i had to process what happened at this shop. i went in for a tire repair, a nail had impaled itself into one of my rear tires. i dropped my car off for my 9am appointment and received a call at 9:28am from the shop. the rep said they had "really bad news about the car". since there was a windstorm happening at that time, my immediate thought was "eff! a tree fell on the car", but alas, no. the tread was too bare to fix and i would need new tires. i should have taken the cue that this establishment had a flare for the dramatic. cut to 1pm, 1 hour after they said my car would be done and i haven't heard anything from them, so i walk in the rain to the shop. walk in and it's pitch black inside. i ask if my car is done and the response is an emphatic "yes!". i asked them why they didn't call me, and they said "power's out". well duh, does nobody have a cell phone? is my phone number not written on that work order? then they inform me that i need to pay for my car in cash because of the power outage. i'm standing there drenched from rain and i ask the manager if i can take my car to go to the atm. he hesitates and decides if i leave my drivers license and a credit card for a deposit, i can take my car. i cannot convey the amount of frustration i felt talking to the shop people, it's as if i had to initiate any problem solving activity function for them. just as i'm about to hand over my personal property as a deposit, a tech comes bursting through the doors with my car keys and the person who told me my car was done says "oh we didn't actually do anything. here's your keys". i'm like wtf?!?!! you just asked me to pay in cash for services you didn't even perform. seriously??? in conclusion, the lights were out both literally AND figuratively. read more

So it's been a while since I bought tires -which they gave us a great deal at the time. Better than Sams club.l pricing! But we recently got an oil change for our Chevy Tahoe using the $49 coupon. Service was quick ended up paying a little over the coupon amount due to the amount of oil our truck used..no biggie just $9bux ish. This also included the inspection which is always nice to "know" what's coming up or good. It took about 40mins which is short, just dropped our Tahoe off and went walking lol read more
