I was very pleased to get my Bridgestone tyre repaired and happy with the entire process, till I returned to my car and white bead lube was all over the tyre and wheel. ( I HAVE PHOTOS) I am handicapped, and it was very hard for me to clean it off from a physical perspective. I would be crazy to allow the same tech to have another chance to work on my car, or that of a friend or family member. Also the young person acting as service manager might check behind these techs, but alas being on her cell phone much of the time precludes that. I would not leave a bad rating because i know it hurts the brand, but I cannot neglect the feeling I got when I was there. They are always quick to take your name, number, address when I only called for a simple enquiry for full inspection. When i got there the clerk lady seemed busy so I sat down for 10 minutes. Another customer walks in and she's not so busy anymore. Whatever the reason or policy is, I wasn't greeted or even acknowledged. This is a grimey place bro, they just smile in your face and overcharge you for unnecessary bs. A piece of metal flew over the median while on the highway and hit something under my car and caused a hole in the coolant pipe of my car. Decided to take it to Firestone and they tried to say my catalytic converter was broken and needed to be replaced but it was just a coolant leak and a bent muffler. A $20 fix at a muffler shop that Firestone quoted me $3,000 for a new catalytic converter. Car is back to normal no thanks to Firestone. This place was great. Now it's trash. The last time I went, my truck ran perfectly fine. They said I needed to replace plugs and wires... Not a hard job. I'll do it on the weekend. Went to pick up my truck and it wouldn't even idle. Alright... Fool me once. Funny thing is. Firestone offer a lifetime alignment of a vehicle as long as you own it. So I get my tires aligned. Truck drove perfectly fine on my way to Firestone. There's a pattern here. But after they did the alignment now I need ball joints, sway bar, and control arms, also my drum breaks magically got changed to disc and my rear pads are at 3mm, and my truck won't hold an alignment. This location replaced my ball joints and upper/lower arms on my truck 1-27-23, fast forward to 5-31-23 and I take it in somewhere else to get fixed because of the shaking again. I was told the pins were missing, the bolts weren't tightened down and my tire was near coming off completely. Not to mention the wear this put on my tires and front end. Extremely dangerous position this company put me and my family in and lucky that nothing major happened while I was on the road. I would recommend you stay away from this location. read more

On November 22, 2024 my wife had a blowout after hitting a pothole adjacent to the Hixson Firestone store. She limped into the store and boy, do we wish we would have had the opportunity to read reviews for this store first. Review after review point to a pattern of unnecessary repairs being done by this store and I'm afraid we fell victim, too. Instead of replacing just the damaged tire, they convinced my wife that all four tires had to be replaced due to excessive tread wear. The car is a Subaru and we know from experience and reading the manual that certain AWD cars such as Subarus should have all tires be replaced IF the tire tread is worn past a certain point in order to avoid damage to the drive train. The tech at the store told my wife that all the tires had tread wear that exceeded Subaru's guidelines and so my wife OKed replacing all of the tires. I was away when this happened and when I returned home I found the invoice for the tires Firestone said had excessive tread wear. Imagine my surprise when I found that THE TIRES HAD LESS THAN 8000 MILES ON THEM. In tire parlance these tires were virtually new. We also have a receipt showing the tires were inspected and balanced less than 5000 miles ago and no excessive wear was noted. I complained, and to the manager's credit, he agreed to a total refund. I thought this sounded fair until I realized that, because Firestone had already disposed of the three undamaged tires, I was still on the hook for all new tires. I had four new tires installed by our usual store and returned the four Firestones to the Hixson store. The store refuses to compensate us for the three new tires that were not necessary to replace. Oh, in addition to snookering us into buying four new tires when only one needed replacing, Firestone also included a road hazard warranty for $80+ that was neither explained to my wife nor given the opportunity to decline. Nationally, Firestone has been ordered by various courts multiple times to cease and desist from including tire warranties without proper notification and explanation so you'd think they would have learned their lesson in this regard. Reviews for Firestone's other Chattanooga area stores are generally positive so this store stands out in regard to the pattern of negative reviews for performing unnecessary repairs and particularly for taking advantage of female customers. Spent six hours in the lobby, and left without the job being finished. Was given an estimate of $1,089--$1,325. Was told I needed brake pads, rotors and calipers on both sides. Got second opinion at another garage. Work completed for $80. Won't go back to Firestone. read more

technician cross threaded some of my wheel lug nuts. went back and the manager told Thomas to check them and make sure they were not cross threaded to appease me. This isn't an appease situation this is doing there job right. Thomas went and checked the torque on the lugs never checked to see if they were cross threaded. very bad service, very bad management. read more

I've been taking our van to this Firestone since I moved here five years ago before they moved it even. They've replaced brakes several times, fixed brake booster and have done tires and flat fixes. All with zero problems. About 9 months ago our serpentine belt broke. Took out the Front camshaft seal, AC compressor, harmonic balancer and lots of other damage. $3000 later we had the van back and was told that they couldn't fit all the R134a in and to bring it back if it didn't cool. This was going into the fall so it was good enough. The van squealed intermittently and finally I had enough. I took it back and they "checked it out". They said replace pulley tensioner and idler pulley. I had asked them to replace that 9 months ago but they recommended not replacing it. Turned out it was a problem. Anyhow, I was told the high side Schrader valve was leaking and it would cost $104 to fix and that I needed brakes and rotors on the front. I decided to check it all myself. Turns out my AC system was overcharged by 50psig and the power steering fluid was low. I fixed the pressure and topped off the PS fluid and now things are working perfect. This shop will take advantage of you if you don't know cars well. They Refused warranty discounts on any of the previous work even though it's a 1 year warranty. I've spent well over $10,000 with this shop and I had to remind them of the lifetime brake pad warranty and they also wouldn't warranty a $104 service from a $3000 repair bill less than a year old. I won't be bringing it back, you've lost my business over a petty $100. Congrats. read more

Second terrible experience in a row at this place. STAY AWAY! Brought my car in to get a slow leak fixed in my front left tire. Guy told me it would take about 40-45 minutes, way too long, but ok. An hour and 15 minutes later the guy says "we fixed your left rear tire, but your front left is leaking too." THATS THE TIRE I TOLD YOU WAS LEAKING AND NEEDED FIXED!! There was NOTHING wrong with tire they "fixed". Then they guy says, "you want us to fix the front left too?" REALLY? Over 2 hours to get a leaky tire fixed. I hope it's fixed anyway. read more

Absolutely the best service ever! My tire popped and I had to get a towing service. I called them on the phone and they checked to make sure they had a good tire for me. The process would've been so stressful if they didn't step in to help me. I ended up getting to the Firestone 5 minutes before closing. They finished the complete tire change 5 minutes after closing. They were so very nice and helpful. It was cheap and quick and I cannot thank them enough!!! read more

I took my company van in for a oil change - when I got home i tried the window washer - the tank was empty I returned next day and the young lady at the computer suggested that I get a large cup and steel washer fluid from a gas station next time I fill up. Wife got a flat tire in our 2017 van. She took it to Firestone to have it plugged. The two sales guys, Wesley and Austin, told her it couldn't be fixed. They also told her the tires had tire rot and all four needed to be replaced. They even pushed a credit card on her to conveniently finance the tires. She left the store feeling these two jokers were trying to use scare tactics (tire rot) to take advantage of her. She felt belittled as a female customer. We took the tire to NTB and they had no problem fixing it. They saw no sign of "tire rot" and indicated we had plenty of life in the tire. This is not the first review that points out poor treatment of women at this establishment. If you're in Hixson, stay away from these guys. Go to one of the four others in a two mile radius. read more

Complete waste. I took my 2016 Camry in to this location for them to inspect the front end do to a wobble on the front passenger side . Shaun explained to me after the inspection that my rim was out of round . I said ok, I will order one from Toyota he said ok . I paid them for there time ( $70.00+) and left . Today 05/12/2021 I return with the new rim and the paper work from the inspection . The guy who waited on me told me "they could not just put the tire on the new rim because I did not buy the tires from them" . I said ok how much is a tire like the one on the car. He then proceeds to tell me " we don't carry that tire so I left. I took my car to NTB and showed them the paperwork and explained to them what had happened . they promptly pulled it into the garage and inspected it . The diagnosis is the belt on the outer side wall has broke causing the tire to wobble . I asked about the rim he proceeded to show me where it was showing round . So Firestone, I will not be returning and canceling my credit card with you do to poor customer services, pushy sales of break packages and cabin air filter that was replaced a week prior by myself . What is interesting is you will take a tire off the rim to plug a hole even though I didn't buy the tires from you. But you will not put the same tire on a factory rim . Furthermore I would not recommend anyone who is gay or a female to this place as they seem to judge and take advantage/refuse service. read more

COMPLETE RIPOFF! First of all, when you go to their website, they offer you a list of services with NO pricing. How can you compare prices with other repair centers or tire stores. Second, they are open until 7pm, but if you come in for an oil change after 4 pm, they will tell you they have sent their staff home and to make an appointment for another day. Why be open and not serve your customers. Third, after paying $52 for an oil change and tire rotation, I got home and decided to check the air pressure on the tires and all four were low. Now I'm not even sure they rotated the tires at all. I doubt they even changed the oil. Avoid this place at all cost. If you must go here, make sure you watch the entire process and make sure everything has been completed to your satisfaction before you leave. Mark your tires with a marker of something to make sure they were rotated correctly and bring a pressure gauge with you to make sure your tires are at the proper pressure before you pay your bill. read more

I decided to being my vehicle to Firestone. I decided against until I spoke to the front end representative named Austin who was not only helpful but knowledgeable in his field of expertise. Because of Austin I will be back, he not only knows what he is doing but is nice and respectable when he told my family what is wrong with our vehicle. He actually showed us what was wrong with our suburban. (Which ended up being brakes and calipers). We will definitely be back, but only if we have Austin as a service manager. read more

I went in to get my rear break pads and rotors looked at. I was told I would be getting a free brake inspection when I dropped off my car, to determine the entirety of the problem. I took my car into Goodyear and was quoted a certain amount two days before, which is why I ended up at Firestone to begin with. Not only did I have a coupon directly from their website for a free brake, but they also have a huge banner in front advertising for a free break check. after four hours of waiting for the results of the inspection, a representative called me and quoted me $300 more than Goodyear. I told them that I would come back and pick up my car that there was no need for the service, and when I got there I had horrible customer service and was told that my coupon was invalid. The lady that was helping me was extremely rude and judgmental towards my questions, implying that I should know more about the inter workings of the car. she then proceeded to tell me that my service was going to cost $40 and did not explain why, even after I explained I had a free coupon and there is a large banner outside advertising for a free brake check. It seems like all they care about is ripping you off and getting your money. Definitely will not be returning for any services. read more

I had excellent service in Texas with Firestone but this store is just plain weird. I have a 2011 BMW 535 and that year they didn't put a dipstick in. I don't know why but when I went in for an oil change, after the car was pulled into the bay they told me they couldn't change my oil... because it didn't have a dipstick! I said, it takes 7 quarts. After barely making it to Autozone to get a battery, which due to corrosion in the battery mounts, they couldn't replace, we had to drive to Firestone. Our truck broke down in the street .... with the efficiency of a NASCAR pit crew every staff member ran outside , and got us pushed safely into the parking lot. They charged us 30% less than NTB, and let us use our own battery (which NTB wouldn't). They were kind, efficient, and honest. Kudos to this team. They're amazing ! read more

Go to an actual mechanic, not these guys. In February of this year, I scheduled an appointment and took my car (2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe) into this location for a valve cover gasket replacement, as the one that was on my car at the time was beginning to leak. About an hour after dropping the car off, I received a phone call saying that they didn't actually have the correct part to do said repair, and was asked if I would be okay with them keeping the car overnight. I declined as I needed it for school the following day. I was told I could pick my car up later that day and return later once the location had gotten the part. I agreed to this at the location. On the drive home, I noticed smoke spilling out from under my hood, and discovered that my valve cover was leaking to a much greater extent than before, and alerted Firestone to this during my next call. I called two days later to confirm they had the part and brought my car in once again. I left believing that the issue had been fixed properly. It has now been 8 months almost to the day since this, and in this period of time I have put just under 6000 miles on my car. I have just recently discovered that the valve cover has been leaking AGAIN, and from the looks of it (based on the amount of buildup of grime on other parts of the engine) not for a short amount of time. This kind of repair should last much much longer than 6000 miles or 8 months. Additionally, there is a small dollop of some sort of material at one corner of the valve cover. I fear that this might be some sort of silicone that they piped around the valve cover in an attempt to do a slap-job and get the car out of their shop. I sincerely hope I am wrong as this could spell out that they caused a much bigger problem than applying a flawed gasket. I have contacted their customer support and explained this, and am waiting to hear back. I don't want this location to touch my car anymore than they already have and am going to be fighting to have my money refunded. I sincerely hope that the location reaches out to me to see what needs to be done about this. Once again, do not trust this location for anything. Go to an actual trusted mechanics shop. read more

Here is the highlights of why I am giving this Firestone in Hixson a good review: Vehicle type: 2007 Nissan Quest (Base Model) *Wife calls to tell me the Van had a hard time starting up and Check Engine light is on *Called Hunt Nissan Service Dept and set up appointment for next day *Get phone call from Service advisor. He says it was the Cold Start ECM that was the problem and the Computer just needed to be re-programmed, and a million other things needed repair (common words anywhere you take a vehicle) $700 worth of repairs *Van was ready end of Day, after closing. Get in Van, and problem was not fixed. Drove home, was already upset about having to wait so long. *Next day, same problem, van had a hard time starting up. I drive the van to work and leave the wife and kids with the other vehicle. *On my way to work I start getting this smell like rotten eggs coming into the cabin. Could not figure out what it was. *Got an email from Service manager to rate their service and I give a zero, ten being best. *Manager calls me and leaves me a message asking to call him. *Meanwhile, I am trying to figure out what this smell was. I google it, and the great people leaving advise and reviews say to smell the Battery, it may be the Alternator not charging the Battery or it may be a bad cell inside the Battery. *Took the Van to Firestone in Hixson (Lost trust on Hunt Nissan service department) *Firestone calls me back and tells me it is not a bad Alternator, but a bad Battery. *Called Nissan Service dept Manager and to make a long story short, told him the problem and he said I "Denied" a new battery. I couldn't believe it! *looked at my receipt and the Tech checked Battery good *This is why I give Firestone in Hixson a Five star, they fixed the problem!!! read more

No one is surprised by shops trying to rip off women, however, these guys went above and beyond making up outrageous claims that my car had a faulty battery, leaking shocks, bald tires, and dangerously old brakes. My initial intent was to get an inspection for Lyft, which they had never heard of before. They not only failed my inspection due to these false claims, but also attempted to scare me by telling me all of the safety risks I am creating by not getting over $1000 worth of work done. They took the fact that I am clearly pregnant as a way to try and exploit me. I took the car back without any work done to it, and asked my husband as well as a reputable mechanic in Nashville to take a look at it. Both stated and actually showed me that the measurements Firestone claimed they saw on the brakes and tires were completely off. My car also does not even have shocks, rather it has struts, which are completely fine. Following the other mechanics assessment, I took my car to a Lyft inspection center in Nashville (still with no work done to it), and immediately got approved. Firestone owes me a refund for this inspection. read more

My wife brought her car in with a flat, they told her it couldn't be plugged because it had a hole is the side wall. Asked them to put the tire in the trunk and mark the hole, neither of which they did so my wife asked again and the guy put the tire in the trunk and proceeded to say it didn't need to be marked because it was so noticeable you couldn't miss it, so we scanned the tire once she arrived home and saw no noticeable hole in the sidewall but did notice a piece of medal that caused a tiny hole in the center of the tire which they never mentioned. Took to Goodyear the following morning to find out we had been lied to and upcharged $204 for a new tire which we did not need. Brought Firestone back their tire and the guy in charge in the morning was very respectable and returned it with no problem and apologized and said they've been having problems and complaints from this service advisor named Todd that advised us of this imaginary hole in the sidewall. Disappointing to know that reputable company like Firestone would have someone like this working for them. Hard to trust the company when something like this happens especially when you've realized he's been giving poor service and incorrect advise just to make a buck. I sincerely hope this problem is resolved because I use Firestone quite a bit but I will not do business with a company that keeps untrustworthy people on their payroll. read more

Heres a good counter review. This is not a place that you can trust. The service writers will bs you about what is wrong with your vehicle, and try to find things wrong that you "really should get done". The techs working on the cars might get it right, or they might cause major damage to your vehicle. I have had horrible experiences with Firestone Hixson, and so have other people I know. read more

My mother went to this Firestone today for an oil change. She has put 700 miles on her vehicle over the last year but is faithful to change oil once a year. She has 26,000 miles totally on her vehicle. After they completed the oil change they came and informed her she needed new brakes, new wiper blades and several other things totaling 700.00. I am amazed yet not surprised that they tried to fleece her as she is an elderly woman. Yet I told her my experience at the same place. The last time I went there I saw them get an oil spray from the back room and spray it on the boots on my axle. They got me and showed me the oil spots and said I needed 1500.00 worth of work done. Consumer beware!!!!!!! Especially women. Reason? You will walk in, and if you're lucky, you may even know what is wrong, or needs to be fixed. In my case, it was my brakes. My mistake, was not checking on sites like this to see reviews....You're at their mercy, and they will tell you that additional things (some are comical) are also wrong, and "that they couldn't live with themselves if they didn't warn you of what was seriously wrong with 'another part' or 'who installed those tires, because, they didn't put the right lug nuts on, and your entire wheel might just fall off!!'" Naturally, they can fix it, but at an additional cost. Cut to the only reason I went back there after thinking my brakes were fixed. The same rear brakes started to make the same noise this year, as they did last year. I still had my receipt of the work that was done - or maybe not done - last year. I figured they'd do the right thing and fix the problem (that was supposed to be fixed less than a year ago) free of charge. NOPE....the service mgr or sales rep, said he'd waive the labor costs, but the part that was cracked was going to run about $130. I'd already blown close to $450 last year, and frankly...what the heck? Just because I was there, would I pump more money into what most likely would not be a FIXED problem, since they couldn't seem to fix the brakes last year. So, I'm furious, and frankly am thinking of calling their corporate office, because I work a lot of hours, and need a reliable vehicle. They shouldn't be allowed to rip people off, and I'm reading a lot of the same type of complaints from others, and I'm sick of it. I'm disgusted they think we're all such a bunch of fools! read more

This is an immoral establishment that took advantage of my autistic son. Honestly, it works like a ponzi scheme, or an indentured servitude. You go in for something simple, they charge you. You leave. Whatever they did, they screwed something else up. My son went in for an alternator belt, was way overpriced $100. The belt brakes instantly because they put it on wrong. He, burned his radiator up going back. They lied and said the radiator leaked coolant onto the belt. THat is obviously backwards, n no belt broke the radiator you idiots! Then when they installed the radiator they put the a/c belt on wrong, it twisted and he had to go back for that. Totaling $1400+ from my son who didn't know any better to ask me. You come back, by something else - PONZI SCHEME. You could get better service in some back alley in Bangladesh. read more

This was the third time I brought my car into Firestone, the first time I clearly asked them to fix the back passenger side tire because it had a leak. I got my car back and they advised it was fixed, a couple days later the tire is flat again. Round two they advise they didn't even touch the back passenger side tire but the front passenger tire because they found a leak there. I now have to purchase a new tire for the back. Thinking my car should be nice and fixed up I find that I'm in for yet another surprise because all of a sudden the wheel bearing on the tire they just "fixed" is making this god awful noise. Of course this is discovered on a 12 hour road trip to Florida. We take the car back and advise that I didn't have this issue before they worked on the tire and absolutely nothing has been done to try and make it right. They have now wasted my time for 3 visits and only once did they fix the issue but they also managed to create another. Their whole plan to make money appears to be to "fix one, break another, hope the customer is stupid enough to trust us again." read more

What a wonderful, friendly place! Went in for an alignment yesterday because my car had been shaking and pulling. They performed the alignment check and explained the results and that my two front tires had been worn bald on the outside due to the alignment being off. They said they could finish the alignment but I would need new tires ASAP and they would just have to realign it again costing more money. They quoted me the price of two tires which was very reasonable but suggested I call the place I'd gotten tires from before to check the warranty. I decided to think on it and went back today and made the decision to let them help me since they were so friendly and helpful yesterday. They actually gave me a better deal on tires with a higher mileage. They quoted me a wait time of an hour and a half and I was out the door in an hour with a huge smile on my face. I will definitely be a returning customer here! They were fair, honest and friendly and super helpful for someone that doesn't know much about cars! Definitely not pushy like other places.
