Wow! I read many of the reviews on this Firestone regarding poor customer service and poor automobile service, and I am convinced that these people are filing reviews on the wrong location. I was gifted a Cadillac from my parents earlier this year, and I have never owned a Cadillac before;rather, all of my previous new and used cars were small 2-door hatchbacks....so I know nothing about big, grandma cars. I have taken it into this firestone for a new set of tires then returned for replacement of faulty valve stems...and today I took it in for a front-end alignment at noon after making that appointment over the phone with Mike at 1115am. My car recently had the control arms replaced elsewhere which put the front end totally out of alignment and in dangerous driving condition. I had purchased lifetime alignment when I bought my tires in May. I arrived at noon and they had the work finished in about an hour. The steering is tight and straight and I feel safe driving my car again. Each of the time I have come in here, I have interacted with Matt, I believe he is the manager here, and he walked each process with me step-by-step. He is an incredible individual with respect to auto mechanics. He kept processes transparent and never blindsided me with any hidden costs or other surprises. I stay in the waiting room while they work on my car and never have I heard any other client become upset or irrational due to anything we would generally expect from a mechanic (shady operations and such). I have had nothing but positive experiences here, so I don't understand the negative feedback they are receiving. I know I would be upset if I didn't know much of anything about automobiles and someone was telling me that my trip in today would cost x-amount, but I do know a lot about automobiles and the mechanics involved, and never had I had to raise an eyebrow at these guys in suspicion of being ripped off or lied to. I know this review is all ovrrr the place, but I know I can certainly rely on this place when it comes to service on my Cadillac....and I certainly trust Matt with everything he says. I had a very bad flat tire and this Firestone was the closest thing to me. I have a warranty with discount tire to replace bad tires. My flat tire was so bad it couldn't be aired up to make it there. I didn't have the tools to put on the donut. They put the donut on for me so I could make it there and THEY REFUSED TO CHARGE ME ANY MONEY. I insisted I pay something but they wouldn't take my money. I have been here multiple times. I have been a Firestone customer of about 10 years. This is by far the worst location I've ever been to. They are very rude, don't hold up to their values, and won't stand behind their warranties. I have lifetime balance align and rotate which I've paid for many times before on other vehicles. This location is the only one I've ever had a difficult time dealing with about it. They tried to claim multiple times that I didn't have it or that they couldn't do it. They also always push my vehicle to the back of their schedule. I understand I may not be paying for a service that day, but the whole point of the deal is to pay up front and never again. If they don like it, don't offer it. I also have had multiple scheduled appointments at the beginning of the days and they won't even start my car until the night time. I show up for my 8:00am appointment and they don't start the car until 4:00pm?? What's the point of an appointment then? They need better management. I had a blown out tire and unfortunately my new car from the dealership didn't have a spare. This Firestone was just a couple miles from me, so I called and asked if they could replace just the tire if I got a ride and brought it in without an appointment. The guy at the front desk, DJ, said no problem. I brought the tire in, DJ was there and he got me in and out within 20 minutes. Not only that, but another small thing is he put on a valve stem cover for me which the dealership didn't do. Overall I am extremely happy with my experience here, DJ and the other girl working there today were amazing! read more

Firestone Auto Repair has been "all over the place" in terms of quality of workmanship and results in light of the actual performance and end result of the actual work: Denying responsibility for failing to complete oil changes, resulting in horrible oil patches on driveways and other places (such as my elderly mother's garage). I am still waiting for the update to being a positive, well-managed garage, where I can trust that its results are not disasters, that need correction by another mechanic. It took close to 3 hours to get my battery replaced. I was told it would take 1 hour. Lots of excuses were given. Battery had to be delivered from parts store two miles down the road, short staffed, lunch breaks, etc. Then to make matters worse I was overcharged according to the person at the desk. I was told it was too late to give me the promised discount because my credit card had already been charged. I would never recommend this place!!! read more

Avoid if at all possible. I took my car in for a diagnostic concerned I may have an oil pressure issue when my regular mechanic was unavailable. I'd been experiencing issues with the car but the check engine light was not on, I made a decision out of caution after my last car died without a warning light and this felt similar. They told me it wasn't an oil pressure problem but a crank shaft censor that needed to be replaced as well as a lot of other costly repairs, and while my check engine light wasn't on when I dropped it off, it was on when I picked it up. I took it to my mechanic when he was available and he told me the car is in good shape and the crank shaft censor just needed to be plugged back in.. no more check engine light and the car runs great again. Lesson learned, do not trust Firestone with your car. read more

I get there, then I find out they don't take reservations at all. The guy says they're booked up for several days, so what the F? I pre-paid for lifetime alignment and tire rotation and now it looks like I'm screwed. Thank you Firestone. Whatever you do stay away from this location, very shady business practices and they will try to upsell you on things you don't even need. It seems everytime I've brought my car here they "find" something new that's wrong with it. They also destroyed the threading on my oil pan and told me it was already like that and I'd need to pay upwards of $2,000 to get it fixed. Absolutely ridiculous and to make it worse the old store manager was fired for telling the techs to do these types of things to peoples cars. You're way better off going to the 288 location, those are trustworthy people. read more

Couple years back my mom took her car there that worked on guys in the breaking the tensioner on the timing chain and try and say he didn't do it we had to take the car to the car dealership a Dodge to get it fixed and Dodge Chargers they've had a lot of cars coming there that they've messed up at fire stone the only way we get reimbursed back from it was getting a hold of somebody at the corporate office because of people and then got angry and had attitude about it I don't like it that they try and take a vantage of a senior citizen and you damn sure the car is still charging or they don't get the car back be careful with this place read more

Shoulda looked at reviews here before coming. Went in for an oil change, which took them about 5 hours to do. Granted there was a queue of people there, they said they'd call when it was ready and they didn't. I had to call them. I went to pick it up, I brought in a coupon. The guy at checkout then said "oh, well they already gave you $10 off!", implying that it was a better or equal deal to the coupon I had. I asked about the coupon again later and he changed the subject. I went home and looked at the breakdown of costs on my receipt, the coupon would have saved me 1/2 the total cost. Now, in hindsight, I should have asked what the price would have been with the coupon. Regardless, it's pretty lame of someone to take advantage of you right to your face. They also gave me a breakdown of "damages" to my car they found while changing my oil, an estimated $600 lmao. Never trust businesses like this. I won't ever be returning. read more

4/8 I worked with the Firestone in Farmers Branch TX where I live to help me set up an appointment for my Mother in Denton TX where she lives to have the front right Axle replaced on her 95 Nissan Quest. The work was performed by Harison. 4/9 The vehicle was taken back to Firestone to have the alignment done as it was not set up to be done when the axle was replaced. Something that should have been at least recommended when the axle was done due to the nature of the repair. This work was performed by Daniel When she got the vehicle back it was squeaking at first but was attributed to the age of vehicle along with recent work. By the middle of May there was a noticeable wobble and clunking in the front end on the passenger side. The vehicle was parked and moved as little as possible until I had time to take a look at it. 7/24 Went to Denton to take a look at the vehicle. Performed a "shakedown" of the front wheels. The driver side was, for the most part, solid and unyielding. The passenger side had minor vertical movement, major horizontal movement, and a half-inch in a helical movement forward as well as backward. I jacked the vehicle up removed the tire to get a better look at the suspension behind the tire and noticed that the nuts on two of the three bolts that hold the ball joint to the lower control arm were backed off a significant amount. Enough to let the control arm droop a good amount as it was pivoting on the one bolt that looked to be securely fastened. Immediately I called the Firestone that did the work on the vehicle and acquired the name and number of their area manager Shane Welborn. I called and went straight to voicemail. I left a semi-detailed message and requested a callback. 7/25 My brother called me this evening staring that he had just sent me the reply from a review that he wrote to Firestone regarding the issue and advised I call the number that was in the reply he received from Constance B. with Firestone 1-800-847-3775. Along with this reply was a number to reference the incident. 7/29 Still, have not heard back from the area manager. I called the number my Brother provided me and they acted like they had no idea what the reference number was that he was given. Not surprised, annoyed but not surprised. So I walked through the process again with the lady on the phone and was told that I would be contacted by the area manager within 24 - 48 hours. I informed her that I had already tried reaching out to him 48 hours ago with no callback or result of any kind. This vehicle takes my Nieces, Nephew, and Sister in law from place to place, not to mention my MOTHER! She also uses it to transport elderly in need that lives within the same residential area. This could have killed multiple people if those bolts would have let go going down the road. The van could have flipped, rolled, and or taken out other vehicles in the process!! I need this fixed as we will not drive the car like this and expect Firestone to fix their mess up. Alone with a thorough check of the suspension to make sure nothing else was forgotten, and I want it done at a different location than I can trust. So far all I have received is the run-around and been fed loads of BS. It is being treated as a natural everyday occurrence by Firestone. They want us to bring the car back up to them to look it over. SERIOUSLY - you want me to drive a vehicle that the suspension is about to fall off of so you can fix your mistake. in the last six months, I have spent over 2,000 with them and that's the best I can get from them is "put your life in danger!" I ask you, what kind of person would recommend that? These are the people we trust our lives with, the lives of our children, our parents, and other loved ones. Keep in mind that this vehicle went through two Technicians, and neither one could see that the ball joint was left loose. The recommendations after the alignment were staggering and I can only surmise that it was due to the looseness of the bolts, and not so much the worn suspension. If nothing else this should have been caught during the alignment. The technician even recommended horn diagnostics due to horn not sounding when attempting to activate. The horn does work and works without fault. You just have to press on the little indention of the horn on the steering wheel. They can't even get that right. I know the vehicle is old, but nothing was falling off of it. Until now! read more

Picture it: Firestone, this morning at 10am. A young, exceedingly broke college student with no free time on his hands finally finds a small break between work and class to get his wife's oil changed, for she had been nagging him for a while. Upon calling this establishment, this strapping, young, broke college student was greeted with a friendly voice in which after getting all his information, set an appointment with the young lad. After work, the lad set out to the Firestone and was greeted by an unfriendly man with bleached white hair who, to the lads surprise, said that no appointment was made. The lad soon found out that the person who he had called had somehow neglected to make the appointment, and inside the Firestone was met with a lack of customer service. Afterwords, the young man spent many an hour being nagged at by his wife, which in the end of said nagging was promised a night of loneliness on the couch in which he now awaits. Recently moved to Texas looking for a decent place to take my car. I made an appointment and took in my car at the the scheduled time. The guy told me 2 hours I was fine with that because I was working on a paper. It passed the 2 hour mark and I am wondering where my car is...come to find my car was never taken back!!!! Wtf!!!! I was in the waiting area the entire time but no one bothered to say anything!!!! The tech was still trying to take it back and I said no!!! I am not waiting another 2 hours!!! I took my previous car in for service when I was having really bad alignment problems, I'm not sure who all the bad reviews are targeting but every time I go in I ask for Trevor, by far the most professional one there, sure they make minor mistakes but it's a shop, they're going to try and find everything wrong with the car, it's their job, I had no complaints with my last car having work done here, I have my new car in there now and it's in worse shape than the last one so we will see how it comes out but normally I don't have a huge hassle with them, service does take a few days when you're doing major work but honestly they're a very busy location and have people coming in and out rushing them quite frequently, playing the waiting game is much more worth your while. read more

This was my first and last time taking my car to Firestone Complete Auto Care in Denton, TX. They took four hours to replace my rear brakes because they ordered the wrong parts. I also needed front brakes, but the shop manager only wanted to inform me that I would need new brakes in the next month or two. I would have paid to have my front brakes replaced while I was there, but I guess he didn't want the business. Now I need to take my car to get front brakes.. .more wasted time. They left my lug nut key in my cup holder and smashed a mosquite on the inside of my windshield. Her vehicle was service a mechanic shop in Austin and they installed the wrong wheel on the vehicle, I picked up the correct wheel from the Austin shop and came to Denton yo swap it out. Seems pretty easy right nope they cross threaded the lug nuts and studs needed to be replace, we I came in with no appointment and told mike my story, we he tells me right away that they are super busy but understand my situation, he gets his best mechanic to pull my car in right away so I can back to Austin, thank you Mike and crew they will take care of my daughters car from now on read more

This shop does good work quickly and is usually accommodating to a single woman with limited automotive knowledge. The down side is customer service- I have never been in this shop without experiencing a line four people deep. I feel like this store took gross advantage of my teenage college student. I told her what to get and the store talked her into buying the most expensive set of tires for her car. I realize that ultimately it was her decision but she is a stranded (and broke I might add) college student and they knew that. Five stars all the way! I spoke with Gavin on the phone a few times before my son had his car towed there. He was very professional and kind, and listened to what the issue was with the vehicle. We had already taken my son's car to another auto shop months prior and knew what the issue was, but Gavin suggested that they look the car over prior to installing the rack and pinion, to make sure it was in fact, bad, which I appreciated. As it turned out, only one of the things that the other shop said might be bad was actually bad. Communication was the best I've ever had from any auto shop. We spoke the next morning after they looked it over and he said it would be done that day. He also advised us of a couple of minor issues that needed to be addressed. The car was ready to go that afternoon, as promised, and it great working condition. Again, I didn't have to wait around like I usually do and call the shop because they're too busy and forget. We received a call hours later that it was ready. We even noticed that Jeffrey, the mechanic who worked on my son's car, reattached the flange under the bumper that the tow truck driver accidentally pulled off when towing and it was done at no extra charge. Went in for an oil change, and as I spoke with the guy at the counter, the oil change kept getting more expensive. They charged $40-$50 more than the dealership would for an oil change. Less than 24 hours after the oil change, my check engine light came on and my motor was completely out of oil. They pinched the gasket on the oil filter, allowing all of the fresh oil to drain out. When I called and said what was going on, they started out by saying it couldn't be anything that they had done, they couldn't possibly have caused an oil leak. In the end they paid for another oil change and to have my car towed, but they made me pay for my own ride to pick up my car and wouldn't bring it back. This was the most inconvenient experience ever. I had to miss a few different events because I didn't have a way of getting anywhere. So basically, if you would like an incompetent group of people to work on your car, this is the right shop for you. read more

Do not go here under any circumstances! Either they are incompetent or crooks. I took my Chevy there because I have been having some problems with my air conditioning. They claimed that my condenser line AND condenser needed to be replaced, which they quoted at $1000 (after a $100 discount). I wanted to get a second opinion and see if the repairs were covered under warranty, so I let Firestone know that I would be taking my car to the dealership. They instantly got defensive and claimed that Chevy was just trying to steal their business and that their assessment was undoubtedly correct. I ended up taking my car to the Chevy dealership and guess what? My car didn't need half of the repairs that Firestone claimed it did! Only my condenser hose needs to be replaced, not the entire condenser, which mean the cost of the repairs will only total $500. THEY WERE GOING TO OVERCHARGE ME BY $500 FOR UNNECESSARY REPAIRS !!!!! I am not one to write bad reviews, but this is completely unacceptable. They make a business out of being dishonest. Even if your car breaks down and this is the only place open in 100 miles, do not take your business here. read more

This place has gone downhill fast!! There was a man there named Craig. He took such good care of me and my car. He was always helpful and went above and beyond to help me. Fast forward took my car in to get a tire rotation and balance and it took 3 days to get in. After I left all the tire sensors were going off. Took it back and they recalibrated. Next day one sensor going off. The new guy who is a so full of BS says that the sensor went out and it was a coincidence. He was rude and told me I needed to call the dealership to verify his story. This is the same guy that told me I needed new tires but when I checked out the other employee told me I had about 10,000 miles left on my tires. Upselling is what they do best. No honesty. My husband and I are in our 80s and cannot take care of car repair! We had a flat tire due to a nail that I had run over. I took it to Firestone on University Drive to have the tire repaired. I picked it up around 11:30 pm and by 5:30 pm the same day the tire was flat again. I took it back the next day and they said they were very sorry and they would give me a big discount. The discount was that I did not have to pay for taking it back the next day to redo what they had failed to do the day before. Not getting my business anymore! read more

Never again! Last year, i changed engine oil from here. It was so-so service.. I simply chose here again because it's close.But I was totally wrong. I brought a coupon, the register guy refused to take it. But last year, the same coupon with the same car, they took it and made me a deal. But that guy(big) refused to apply it. And he just ignored me throughout. When i asked something else,(with a smile face), he didn't even give me a look, and answered as if he was angry.
