I waited hours for them to do the work he said would take about 30 minutes and then the guy working on my car disappeared... apparently went to dinner. I called the police when they refused to release my car and finally left. I had to contact corporate to get the charges on the card removed as the work was not done. Came in here late on a Sunday afternoon with an unexpected flat after an 8 inch snowfall in the city. Nowhere to change the tire that wanting a snowbank, no place to go, and these guys delivered. They were very busy, were already stacked with work, the guy at the front desk listened and said he would get me back on the road, but it might be a while. That was fine with me, and I will say that they did the job as promised, stayed late to do it at their own personal expense, and charged me a fair price. Nothing to complain about here. This is for the 5215 Milwaukee location (Chicago) Be sure to take photos of your entire car (doors, etc.) before the "service." My car was badly scratched and the response was, "how do we know it wasn't already scratched". I've been taking our second car here for over 10 years, if I was going to question something for no reason it would have happened long ago. Most clients expect some kind of loyalty from an ongoing business relationship, blaming the client is not exactly a winning strategy. I came here for a scheduled oil change for good ol' Charlie (2006 Honda Civic). As in the past, I didn't feel like I was up-charged for anything and Alan, the manager behind the front desk was pretty straightforward and honest. As part of an oil change, they do inspect your vehicle (fluid levels, air filters, tires, etc) I did have a nail on my rear tire, which they got patched quickly. He also suggested a tire rotation, as he said the front tires were starting to wear faster than the back. I told him I'll do it at Costco for free and he was fine with that; no trying to convince me to do it now for $$. He even said they might patch my tire for free too, but I didn't want to risk coming back, if they didn't, so I elected to just get it patched there. I also asked how my extremely low mileage car (under 80K, but 12-years old) should get more preventative care, considering its age, and he said there's nothing to worry about as long as I keep doing the maintenance routines. A dishonest mechanic would probably feed into that, but he didn't. He said Hondas and Toyotas are built to last and mentioned that he had a 2003 Toyota Camry, and has over 300K, and trying to push it to 500K. Their waiting area consists of 5 or so chairs, coffee, hot water, and a blaring TV of daytime talk shows (I didn't know Rachel Rey had a show, let alone, they were celebrating her 200th episode that day). There's a cool looking recharging station that you can use. It has plugs for your iPhone (early generation to lightning cable) and of course Android mini-USB plugs. The place can get loud, with the TV, incoming foot traffic, and the employees calling customers that their vehicles are ready, but then again, this isn't a library. I'm just noting this because I was counting on working and taking conference calls while waiting, and if you were planning on too, keep this aforementioned noise level in mind. Overall, the whole ordeal took under an hour, which is not bad. Pro-tip: Go to the Firestone website and look for coupons/deals; it seems there is always one for a standard oil change. BATHROOM REVIEW: A single stall bathroom located behind the kiosks, the Firestone bathroom was pleasantly decent. There was a giant dallop of poo in the bowl that I guess the flushing streams of water couldn't clear, but other than that, as I said, was decent. There was a sink, soap, and a paper towel dispenser, along with a hand dryer. Interestingly, there was no trash can in the bathroom, so not sure where to put used paper towels (or whatever you may need to discard... heroin needles?) Just kidding. Anyways, sit or squat? Five very bright stars for professional and efficient service! Thank you, Gordon!! I went to the "stealership" to check on a few car issues and they informed me that I had a nail in my tire. I asked if they could patch it up but the dealership proceed to try to sell me new tires (of course I would "need" two because they would "need to be balanced"). They quoted me around $500.00 for tires and service but backed off when I informed them I had a Firestone warranty on my current tires. I promptly made an appointment online on Firestone's website (super easy) and one of their team people called me right away to inquire upon the size of tire I needed. Drove in this morning and in less than an hour (I ate lunch next door), Gordon and his awesome staff fixed the issue and I picked up my car. I saved $500.00 and a huge headache! Gordon was the consummate gentleman and I will forever be buying tires from Firestone because of this experience. This location has been the most careful with my car, also they price match and there are no bait switches here like the other shops. Place is always full but they keep their word on what time to finish. Time conscious staff, also very helpful to all their customers,happy after having all 4 tires replaced with warranty. She arrived and they said they couldn't do it and to call back at 1:00 she called back at 1:00. She called back and they said they were still busy and to call back again at 4:00. I called them before 4:00 and asked why they are screwing with an 85 year old woman attempting to get a simple repair accomplished. They had no answer. Rude Service Manager, Technicians broke my wheel lock and put the broken wheel lock back in my car. Upon inspecting IMMEDIATELY after the service, they denied it, and then changed their story saying that they cannot guarantee wheel locks breaking if the lugs are on too tight. TLDR 5 hours to fix a flat and they're completely disorganized. My 77 year old dad with aphasia needs to get his tire repaired so I can drive him to the airport. After being told it will take "a couple hours", we call 3.5 hours in. Are told to come in 30-40 minutes. We wait an hour. Go in. My dad (again, has aphasia!) waits in line 20-30 minutes more to be told they haven't even started on it. Did I mention it's a nearly-80 year old man waiting, who has to catch a flight today!? Recently I had a nail in my tire and took it to another Firestone near my work and had an awful experience. Instead of patching my tire for $30 they told me I had low tire tread and needed two new tires at $150 a piece. I called up Firestone on Milwaukee and they checked my tire tread from a routine check on an oil change I had two weeks earlier and my suspicion was correct, that other shop was trying to hoodwink me. I brought my car in to Firestone on Milwaukee and they fixed my tire before the shop closed for the evening. When I brought my car in (big ol' goose egg on a front tire!) they didn't have a lot of customers that day, so I got fast, attentive and excellent service. The day I brought my husband's car in (nail in a tire) not so much, because I was just one of the 6 - 7 people waiting for service. A lot of customer service depends on the front counter people. Upon seeing we had a coupon each location stated it would be a 5 hour wait but without the coupon they could get it done within the hour. One location stated they could do it in an hour if we came back on Monday(of course they know people work). Bottom line coupon carrying customers are not important to them. It is hard to pick a rating for this place. I went in a year ago. They removed a nail from my son's tire for free. (The nail did not pierce the tread and my teen didn't look) Still was great for the no charge... But this visit my son went for an oil change. They then tell him that he needs to replace something. My Son refused to drive to the mechanic we use. So what was supposed to be an oil change cost $300. But part of that was a tire rotation. However, the steering was off so we had to go back the next day. They claimed they fixed it. But 2 days later the steering was grinding... I gave up dealing with Firestone and went to our normal mechanic. He told my son they left out ball joints and something to do with the shocks... My only advice I have is avoid this firestone before you get stuck spending a Grand for an oil change. read more

On a cold winter morning just after Christmas, I was turning onto a side street near my house when the asphalt buckled (yes, you read that right) under my front left tire. Loud BOOM and tire immediately went flat! I drove right to Firestone-- which happened to be open at 930am on a Sunday. Yeah. Driving on the rim w/ the hazard lights flashing was a gamble, but I was going for it!! I'd already cruised over what felt like the surface of the moon, so what did I have to lose? They were able to replace the tire within a few hours and even took a couple of cell phone pix for my insurance. This is the best place for service and tires, especially if you have a fleet of commercial vehicles. I run a small fleet of 12 cars as taxi cabs and limousines. All of my service needs are always met. The guys always take care of my cars and make sure I get the best prices possible. Very fast service. Most of the time I have an appointment, but in some cases I needed to purchase tires on very short notice for city inspection. In one particular case, they were very very busy, but coming through, as always, Gordon still managed to squeeze me in and had me out of the door with 4 new tires within the next hour and a half. On Thursday, 11/5/15, at approximately 9:00 A.M., I came in for an installation and an alignment for four new tires that I had recently purchased. I asked an employee if their work would be completed by 3:00 P.M., due to the fact that I had a very busy schedule that day. The employee told me that their work on my car would be done around Noon, and that they would give me a call when the work was completed. At about one o'clock, I decided to call to ask if my car was done being worked on, and the employee who was on the phone told me that "they had forgotten about my car". The employee then asked me if I could reschedule the work to be completed on Saturday, and I told them that it would not be possible to reschedule it for that day. I stated that it would be fine for them to just keep my car overnight in order for the work to be completed, and that I would pick it up the following day (11/6/15), after 2:00 P.M. - which they agreed to. About 30 minutes after this, I received a call from an employee asking where my lug nut key is and I told them that it was in the center console. They stated "no it is not". After the employees not being able to find it in my car, and not finding it at home myself, I decided to purchase a new set of locking lug nuts and requested that the employees extract the old ones because I had lost the key. The employees told me that it would be a $50.00 charge to extract the old nuts, which I agreed to since I had no other choice at the time. The next day after two o'clock I went in to retrieve my car. When I received my overall bill, I thought that the total cost seemed "off", and noticed that there was a charge for a "stud replacement" that was not communicated to myself in any manner from the employees whom were working on my car. This stud replacement was done without my knowledge nor approval, and in addition to that, they never actually completed the wheel alignment! I talked with Chris and told him about the matter at hand in regards to the wheel alignment and the unapproved stud replacement. He was speechless, and told me "I'm not really sure what to say other than I'm sorry and you will be taken care of". Due to the negligence of the employees, I was forced to leave my car overnight a second time, and had to return on Saturday (11/7/15) to pick my car up. During the day of 11/7/15, I received a phone call from the employees stating that the wheel alignment "could not be performed". This was due to the fact that they could not get the camber correct on my vehicle. An employee named "Gordon" recommended that I go purchase some racing control arms, because they are more adjustable and would allow them to successfully adjust the camber on my vehicle. At this point, I was frustrated at the whole experience at your establishment, and I just stated that I want to sign my bill of $0.00 and be on my way with my vehicle. After signing my bill, I got into my vehicle and opened the center console - and behold my lug nut key is in the console underneath a piece of paper that was also in the console. I was livid that the employees could not move one piece of paper to find my lug nut key, and requested my money back for the extraction and the new lug nut keys that they forced me to buy. Gordon was successfully able to give me my money back, and I was ready to leave. Unfortunately, when I tried to start my car, it was dead! I asked Gordon to come outside to help me jump my car, which he did successfully. What should have been a 2-3 hour job turned into me not having my car for over 48 hours, and half of the work never even being completed. Your establishment not only inconvenienced me by taking my car for almost 3 days, but made me feel stupid by making me believe I lost my lug nut key - which was not the case. This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced, and it is unacceptable. It's one thing to make a mistake, but to make a customer feel belittled and naive is a whole different level of poor quality. read more

I ordered tires from tire rack and planned to have them installed at Firestone. Unfortunately when I arrived and they went to put the tires on my car the tires were the wrong size. The guys discussed my options and worked to find a solution within my budget. When all was said and done I ended up with better tires and the price difference between what I paid and what I would have paid reordering the correct size was around $2.00.
