The old brass frame was just too much though the gas fireplace with its airtight and circulating fan can put out some heat. So we didn't want to replace it. Just put a solid looking wrought iron door over it. Also keep the very old Arizona Cyprus mantel. It actually has some old 44 caliber bullet scares from when used as a target in the late 1800s to early 1900s. May Dad found the long dead tree in the high plains area of Yavapai County in the later1980s. Danny worked with my better half and came up with a great door designed to fit. It did take a couple of months to build deliver and install. But it's beautiful and now that our stone & tile guy is done it transitioned this old dated fireplace into a world of beauty. The quality of the door is outstanding and Danny's friendliness and professionalism are very appreciated. The creativity in design fits perfect with the travertine stone stack and very old solid Arizona Cyprus mantel. I highly recommend them. Great quality for value.

Product was not received and we went on line again and found the on-line system updated the delivery date to be 12/31/2025. Again product was not received. We reached out and left several voicemail messages because this company does not have an actual real live person answering customer's phone inquiries. Thankfully, Travis eventually returned our phone call and said that Starfire was unaware that their vendor was shut down for 2 weeks during the holiday season and that our order would ship and arrive first week of January. This did not happen. We were then advised via online system that the order would arrive Saturday, January 10, 2026. Product did not arrive until the following week AND they shipped the WRONG product. We left messages again and Travis reached out and said he would contact the manufacturer. I requested that our order be escalated to management and for a manager/owner to contact us and I wanted the manufacturer or Starfire Direct to ship the correct product FEDX P1 at their expense for the poor communication and numerous delays with our order. This didn't happen. Online system now says product arriving Thursday, January 22, 2026. Very disappointing.

When I bought my house in Carlsbad 3 years ago, it came with a nice gas firepit that didn't work. I…read morewanted a working firepit, so I started calling every company in the area with "Fireplace" in its name. Most of them said that what I wanted -- refurbishing an old fire pit -- was not something that they did. The person who answered the phone at AMS was willing to discuss possibilities with me, and after some back and forth, I decided that what I wanted was to have AMS rip out the plumbing in the existing firepit and replace it with a new insert. AMS fireplace first sent a plumber to verify that the gas pipes were safe and functional. Then they sent a technician to measure. Then they custom-manufactured a firepit insert that fit into my masonry, and then they sent out someone to remove the old burner and install the new one. I was so happy with the result that I decided to have AMS Fireplace replace the insides of the gas fireplace that came with my house with a new one that worked better (the heat goes into the room and not up the chimney). They did this too, but since it didn't require custom manufacturing it was quick. As I write this review it is late September 2024. I expect that in a month or so I will start wanting again to use the inside fireplace for warmth. In the meantime, my grandchildren love to cook smores and hot dogs on the outdoor firepit. I've had to devious about where I hide the key that turns on its gas.

That said, AMS Fireplace absolutely came through-- they installed my fireplace logs on Christmas Eve, which I really appreciated.
