Palapa Guy Eddie and his expert crew transformed my hillside deck from a hot place to sit and sweat into a shaded paradise in just a few hours. Beautiful materials, expert craftsmanship and an eye for tropical style all came together for a stunning result. Fire resistant, water proof and a 20 year warranty, who could ask for more! Eddie is a pleasure to do business with. A veteran of palapa building, Eddie delivered a solid product for a solid price. I would recommend Palapa Guy to anybody. read more

This was such a great experience and the service was great! Eduardo came over and looked at our palapa and then provided an estimate. Once we decided to proceed he told us the date that was available and we took it. The crew showed up on time and pretty much disassembled everything and rebuilt it with stronger wood. We went with a weatherproof synthetic thatch and we are glad we did. All in all the team did a really good job and cleaned up after themselves. I would HIGHLY recommend the Palapa Guy!!! read more

Many thanks to Eddy and the team at the Palapa Guy. We worked with Jason at Valley Hot Spring Spas and BBQs to design and build our custom outdoor kitchen. We wanted a palapa roof and that is how we met Eddy and the team. Eddy came out to do a sight check and get some rough dimensions. When the bbq island had been delivered Eddy came back to confirm the actual dimensions and start the work. Eddy is the absolute professional! We had some questions about stain color and Eddy made another trip with some samples of the wood and stain. A couple days later and the team finished the install and we could not be happier. The palapa is just beautiful and all the small details really turn it into a piece of art. The contrast between the wood and the thatch, the rope at the joints, he even installed my ceiling fan for me. The palapa roof and the outdoor kitchen are more beautiful than we could have hoped! Thank you Eddy and team!! read more

Don't call anyone else. Eduardo and his crew are fantastic. I called them out to put a new thatch on my existing structure, but the structure was literally falling apart. I really needed it done quickly for a party we were having very soon. Eduardo called in the troops and had it done in a day. The palapa they put together was so much better than the one I had. It was so secure the workers were able to stand on it. They not only built a great structure, but they also put down tar paper on the plywood in between the layers to make it rain resistant. Eduardo made sure to be there before it was finished to check over the job and lend a hand to make sure it looked just right. I'm glad I didn't go with anyone else. read more

Avoid this company. If you have a problem after spending thousands they don't correct and will only give a tiny refund not enough to pay another company. They are not a licensed company so CA Contractors License Board could not help. They claim no employees and DoNot have Workers Compensation insurance. My 19 year old African Palapa, had 2 tiny hole slivers and was faded. We had parties in the rain and our BBQ didn't get wet underneath. Unfortunately, I used George from this unlicensed company. The replacement African cover has more holes than my 19yr old cover I replaced. It does not even provide enough shade and leaks very bad! Neither has plywood but old did not leak because heavy duty African thatch was used. George at Palapa Guy used the cheaper light weight and claimed Backyard escapes only had one type which was false as I got photos f boxes of 2 different yes. George refused to fix all if the large holes sent by photo and refused to replace with heavy duty thatch. Eddie gave a small refund, but in the Heat realized we weren't even getting good shade from the cover. read more

Very, very happy with the work provided by this company. The palapa thatch in the backyard was falling apart and needed to be replaced. I called and texted with Eddie and by the following week we are enjoying the new palapa. My husband and I are very happy with the results, especially the 20 year expected lifetime of the improvement. The guys were professionals, clean, organized, on time, knowledgeable and VERY GOOD at their craft. I think the job was even better than I could have anticipated. Thanks Eddie and George. We were 1000% satisfied with the palapa that Palapa Guy made for us. We had been planning this for almost 2 years - but ultimately I asked George for his opinion about the size and shape since he's been at it for 25+ years. We went with his suggestion and the results were incredible. The quality is excellent, the detail was more than we expected and the whole team was a pleasure to work with. I definitely recommend Palapa Guy. read more

I couldn't be happier with the work that George and Eddie did for us. They quickly came out to bid the job, and we were locked in and scheduled in a couple of days. The guys simply transformed our backyard. We never used to spend much time out there, frankly, but now my wife and I have coffee out there every morning, and we've transformed one of the palapas the guys built for us into an outdoor theater for family movies. Communications throughout the project were amazing, and the guys always responded within a few minutes or hours. Incredible work; great customer experience---I highly recommend these guys! read more

Best ever! Unbelievable quality! I am so impressed. Palapa Guy Eddie and his team are fantastic. We just got our sad old palapa replaced. First Eddie dropped off sample materials and gave us a quote on the materials we chose. They arrived today on time with everything they needed. They built a roof structure, with wood, and roofing paper and everything. At one point 3 men were standing on it working. It is that sturdy!!!!! They not only built us a gorgeous new palapa, they totally cleaned up everything and even re-strung the lights. This is the best money I have spent on a home repair project. "Palapa Guy" is another term for quality and craftsmanship. Call them, you will be glad you did. read more

We called Eddie to ask for help replacing an old, dilapidated palapa we inherited. He was so enthusiastic and patiently helped us choose the right size and thatch for us. He also recommended a solar light and that has worked very well for us. Eddie, you really made this update easy and we are loving out beautiful expanded palapa. My wife and I purchased a second home in Bermuda Dune, CA several years ago. Interestingly, it came with a palapa in the backyard by the swimming pool. Our palapa has a palm frond thatched cover on the top. These thatched covers only last so many years in the intense heat of the desert summers. We replaced this cover shortly after moving into this home. After several years the cover needed to be replaced again. I looked online and was fortunate to find the Palapa Guy Eduardo (Eddie) Valdez. What a lucky find. This man and his crew are the BEST at what they do! As it turns out Eddie and his crew not only replaced the thatched cover but rebuilt our entire palapa after taking the old frame down to the two wooden polls that are the base of the entire system. Eddie and his crew arrived at the appointment time and started work. He looked over our old palapa and indicated that it would look very different at the end of the day when their work was completed. Indeed, it looked not only very different but much improved from the original structure. We are very happy with their work; their work is superior. There are other important things that come along with the Palapa Guy. The guys are friendly, professional, clean up as they work and when they are finished, take all the old materials away with them when they leave. We just can't say enough about how happy we are with our Palapa Guy renovated palapa. We gave Eduardo Valdez and his organization our highest recommendation. read more

Eddie is THE BOMB!!! I took pictures of what I wanted and gave him dimensions and he gave me a price over the phone. We set a date and he showed up with his crew and knocked this out in like 6 hours ALL HANDLED BY A HANDSHAKE OVER THE PHONE! I didn't even meet him (GREAT GUY!) until the day of installation! It's rare these days to find someone who simply says what they'll do and then does it! He freakin' knocked it out of the park! Look at the picture, 'nuf said. I'm a happy guy cuz of the Palapa Guy! Thanks Eddie. You're the best! read more
