After meeting with Adam and several other contractors, I decided to go with Patio Guy not only…read morebecause of his five-star rating, but several other factors that were important to me (and probably you as well): 1) He could deliver and install my new cover within a week vs. the other guys taking months; 2) I wasn't limited to just the AlumaWood product (which wasn't modern enough for me), and (3) his price to install with an upgraded cover (insulated) was far below his competitors constrained by higher overhead and slower delivery times. I ended up selecting a Duralum cover that his company also offers, and I'm glad I did. It's just the look I was going for. I was also impressed with Adam's business model, which is built on quality and efficiency at a very reasonable price without cutting corners or sacrificing customer service. Now for the best part: A guy named Brody, his lead installer. In addition to being a super nice guy, his work is meticulous. The back of my home isn't linear, so there are bump-outs and protrusions, making the installation more difficult and time consuming. This wasn't the slightest challenge for Brody and his team. The finished product is snuggled tightly against my stucco and professionally sealed on the roof to prevent any water dripping through when it rains. I watched him work, measuring and cutting the aluminum to match my home so the fit and finish is far greater than I imagined. As you can tell from the photos, I still have work to do (concrete coating, fence repairs, etc.) to match the beauty of my new cover.

Only regret is that I didn't do this years ago. Price, professionalism, communication, demo, build and clean up were all amazing. Highly recommended and would absolutely use again.

Mario came to the house and measured the windows in question and showed me their thick binder of cloth examples. I picked a cloth that I liked and paid a deposit so they could start manufacturing the frames and awning cloths to fit. About three weeks later, I was given a date they would like to install the awnings and I agreed. Three weeks later, Mario said they were ready and asked if I was ready for install. All good. I'm writing this after giving Mario multiple chances over several projects. We've hired him two…read moretimes for three patios now -- and every single job has had the same pattern: great communication at the start, quick to collect payment, and then a slow and frustrating decline in responsiveness and reliability. First and Second Patios (2023-2024) Mario initially quoted well and seemed easy to work with. But both projects ran behind schedule. He measured wrong on the first patio cover, used visible conduit without asking, and talked us out of gutters that later caused drainage issues. On the second patio, even after giving him a two-month lead time before a big event at our house, the job was only half finished when guests arrived. He did eventually complete them, but only after multiple calls, texts, and follow-ups. Third Patio (2025) This one has been a nightmare. We paid him a deposit in early June 2025 for what was supposed to be a simple project. From there, it was endless chasing -- days, then weeks, of messages like "tomorrow," "let you know soon," and "2 or 3 days." He stopped taking calls, ignored texts, and pushed the project off repeatedly. When he finally resurfaced, he said he couldn't get the material and the price had suddenly doubled from $4,000 to $8,000 without explanation. When we refused and asked for a refund, he promised to return the deposit in 30 business days -- that deadline passed long ago. Still no refund, only excuses about being "stuck with material" or "waiting on the company." Mario is personable and friendly at first, but once he has your money, everything slows down. His pricing looks attractive, but the delays, errors, and lack of accountability make it costly in the end. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt -- three times -- but after this last experience, I can't recommend MG Awning Services to anyone. I know people reading this will ask then why did you go back to him and as I stated, we wanted to give him a chance and he was very convincing that the issues wouldn't repeat themselves. My goal was to get him to come in and also correct the issues w/ the existing patios that we have noticed but nothing. His address here says San Jacinto but his invoices states that he is in Stanton California. Mario, if you're reading this -- please do the right thing and return our payment.

Mario will not answer text message or phone calls for weeks and then will contact us stating that the patio covers are still not available from the manufacturer and even asked us for an additional $2300 from the original contract agreement stating "he under bid the project" we now have had to hire someone else to finish our patios. During the recent windstorm we forgot to retract the awning and it was damaged. I first called the original installer, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. The first thing they told us was that the damage wouldn't be covered because we didn't retract it during the wind storm, and the customer service was extremely rude. It also reminded me how difficult it was working with them in the first place, they gave us the runaround for almost 6 months before the original installation. After that, I reached out to Where Shade Is Made, and the difference was night and day. I spoke directly with the owner, who assured me I would get a call Monday morning to schedule the repair. Sure enough, Monday morning I received a call from Jimmy their GM, and from that point on everything was smooth and professional. By the very next day our shade was repaired and working perfectly again. Even better, Jimmy let us know that the repair didn't require as much work as originally expected, which actually made the final cost lower than the quote. That kind of honesty and customer service is rare these days. Thank you Where Shade Is Made for the amazing service. I truly appreciate the professionalism and quick turnaround. We could not be happier with our patio cover, the quality of the product, the customer service, the sales and technical support from Deena, and the end result. Outstanding. My original plan was to design and build something myself (my typical hair-brained plan), My wife wisely asked if I considered a kit (um, no....they make kits?) and within 10 minutes, she had found the PKD website and used their design tool to design and price our custom patio cover. We called, spoke to Deena, and set up an appt to visit the showroom in Corona, and see and touch and understand the product and ask questions . Deena was very helpful, explained how it worked, how it is built, what to consider, etc. It was all good, absolutely no pressure. The only negative thing was the leadtime, Deena was very straightforward and said to expect 3 months due to high business volume. We were hoping for quicker, but decided to order anyways about a week later because we liked what we saw. Well, the kit showed up about 4-5 weeks later which was a very pleasant surprise. Packed and shipped well, no damage at all. And yes, the instructions may not be world class, but not bad, and Deena answered all my questions throughout the build. It certainly was not the easiest project ever, but not super difficult. I had my two sons help me with the trickiest parts, setting the poles in concrete, and getting the fiberglass columns installed over the poles. Also, the electrical was a little tricky, but I was doing some fancy stuff with WiFi switches, some hidden speaker wires, and other hidden routings I wanted to look good. With a little planning and patience, it all turned out great. Took about 4-6 weekends to get it all done, including pouring footings, laying brick, and all finish work. All in all a great project to do with my boys, we had fun and will have lifelong memories, and the end product is super sturdy, classy, high quality, and adds a great deal of value and functionality and joy to the house and backyard. We love it. Well worth the money, and we love being able to say we built it! And a special thanks to Deena who answered countless questions, and quickly got us a few missing parts, and even sent some spares, all at no charge, and with a positive, professional, and enthusiastic attitude. Thanks Bill, and here is why ! ! ! Well as you would know the best support and communication a service company can provide. I did some research and to find out right in my own area of Southern Ca. was a company who could get the material ordered for me to install. Since day one and about maybe 4 to 6 phone calls and a dozen emails, Bill placed the order and in only 4 working days the kit was ready for pickup. Drove over and " Will Called " it from the factory. Mr. Miller from Amerimax was very helpful and even took time and provided me some other parts at no charge for my project. Discussed with me my project and paper work for installation and even provided me his contact number. I was a little unsure about this but everything came together and brought it home and looked over everything. It looked some interesting to see all the materials, but after reviewing the parts list and the material was ready to get started. I didn't want the standard 3" x 3" post so I purchased on my own the Roman round 8" by 8' tall columns to use. I was even able to find out the paint was also available to purchased from them also from the factory, to paint later. I'm very very happy for the support, BEST COST AROUND for the Kit, I called a number of dealers who sell and install the Alumawood product. Patio Kits Direct, by far is lower then anybody I could find. I'm a 100% disabled US Veteran and it helps to know I could count on them about all my needs. Some dealers wanted about $3500 to $5000 plus dollars, I was way under the $3k price for my 13' x 35' kit. And savings of not hundred of dollars but Thousands actually. I can say if you want a top notch company and the best support and the lowest cost Patio Kits Direct can't be beat. Product top of the line, Service White Glove and you can be sure Bill as I said, I will be letting the other home owners in the project know about your fantastic products and cost. You made my wife's day, by allowing us to customize some parts of the patio cover, and from this you all made another sale. Can say only the best comments. To start, I live ACROSS the Country in Southwest Florida. I dealt with BILL for the entire process. HE WAS AWESOME!!!! I don't know how many times I bothered him with questions, text messages, and emails BEFORE I even placed my order. He was always eager to assist in any way he could and answered all my questions. So finally my CUSTOM order was placed. He advised about two weeks for manufacturing and then it would ship, and that's what it was. Upon arrival by UPS freight, the MAIN beam was damaged during shipment. I took some pics and sent them to Bill and he had a new part manufactured and shipped out again in two weeks. Unfortunately, this was during the holiday madness and it sat in CA on a railroad car for longer than usual....Bill was on the phone with UPS trying to do what he could....but it was out of his hands at that point. (I wasn't in a rush). The new part finally arrived....damaged!!!! I took some pics and sent them to Bill, and again another part was manufactured and shipped out. The third time was a charm!!! I called Bill at 11am our time, which was the crack of dawn (7am) his time, ON A SATURDAY, to deliver the good news. He didn't answer but called me RIGHT back, and I swear I heard tears of Joy! I was so nervous they were gonna just write me off. Again, this was the MAIN beam of a CUSTOM order (not some small part). Not only did they make it right, I think (know) Bill was more stressed out about this than me! :) They did not charge me or ask me a million questions. This is a stand up company with AWESOME customer service. We loved doing business with Patio Direct. My husband not being computer literate got so much great customer service from Rosa Ramirez and his sales rep Desiree was fenominal. We are so pleased with our new patio cover. It was so easy, well I'm sure the guys had their struggles, lol, but my husband and a friend, who had previously built his Patio Direct cover, built it in 8 days just the two of them working only 4hrs a day. Both of them over 60. No issues. I love my new patio cover. It looks better, more unique and stronger than anything in our retirement community. After reading the reviews on how long people waited I wanted to add that we also had to wait. We took the pandemic into consideration and we ordered in Dec., did not get our patio til mid Feb but Desiree kept us informed every step. We were more than happy to get our product when we did in lieu of how quickly everyone's life can change if even one person in the crew is exposed to Covid. We have had to cancel so many things this year just to ensure other people's safety and I thank PKD for their continued diligence in coordinating accrual and delivery of product. I have to admit at first the idea of me building a patio was laughable. I'm the type of guy who has a problem putting together a desk my wife bought at IKEA or putting together a Christmas present for my son. I spoke with Billy at Patio Kits Direct and he assured me I could get it done, "It just might take you a couple of years" he said! In all seriousness he told me that If I had any questions throughout the process to call him and he would walk me through it. My wife Holly, knowing my skill and track record when it comes to building anything, thought it was a horrible idea. Then I told her how much money we would save by doing it ourselves. I ordered the Patio Kit that night. It arrived as promised in 14 days. A friend of mine owed me a favor and helped me with building the Patio which we got done in 3 days! It has been over a week since we built the patio and I can still do no wrong in my wife's eyes. She loves it, the neighbors love it, I love it and all in all it was a great experience. I just completed my patio build out from PKD. I went to their location in Corona and was really impressed with the display of patio coverings they had there. There was every color, style and installation guide down to the screw you could ask for. No paint chips but the actual material. I worked with Andrew, and I have to say without question he knows his stuff. He was very helpful in demonstrating how the patio comes together and the different options available. I picked my material up at the Anaheim location, be prepared to unwrap and examine each piece just in case of damage. Long process but worth it. During my installation I would email Andrew with a question and within an hour or so he and his boss made me a personal video detailing visually my answer. I did this several times and each time I would receive a video with my answer. I thought this was very good customer relations. Simple, straight forward, and fast. Andrew was great from when we met him in the show room, to talking to me on the phone throwing around tweaks to what I wanted, to ordering. The team there kept me up to date on where my order was in the process and when I'd get my kit. I got my kit in about 5 weeks. Super stoked about that! Kit went up fast and easy and was just as I imagined. 2 people over a weekend knocked out all of it except electrical, which I'm taking my time on. Pieces were all in great condition and honestly I was amazed that everything fit perfectly and there wasn't any issues either from the factory or me screwing up some measurement. Only critique: Please, PLEASE have better instructions. Your support team was great and answered all my questions during the build process, but that could have all been avoided if you just had better or more detailed instructions. In some parts, the instructions I was provided didn't match my kit. Please update them, or consider taking a video of a build end to end. I think it'd go a long way. I'm very happy with my purchase at Patio Kits Direct, the transaction was flawless. My wife and I visited the showroom in Corona and was greeted by Deena who was very knowledgeable and informative. She also answered all my questions and concerns and I left the store very happy and informed. I chose a two tone ceiling and posts which I didn't know I could do. I decided to pick up the material since it was so close to home and saved some money in the process. I called the store a couple of times to ordered additional items and silicone and was helped by Eddie and Deena who were very friendly and helpful. The only hiccup about this experience was the instructions, they're a little vague and are not very detailed they also skip some steps and do not have a diagram or picture of the hardware and screws. If you are new to building anything I can see you struggling a little to put it together, but if you call patio Kits Direct I'm sure they'll walk you through it read more

We LOVE the insulated patio cover we ordered. It came earlier, than expected (even though it was in two shipments). We had it up in one day. It was a two man job. It would have been more helpful to have a you tube assembly instruction from beginning to end, with all possible attachment options. We did call customer service, and they got right back to us, with the help we needed. I am however having our electrician come and install the fans and lights. I did order only four panels, so I had to make an adjustment on my original plan, as my an would not be centered. (I ordered 4 panels with hoping to put a fan in the center, and 4 lights on the outer part, but with even panels, and three with the electrical beams in, it was not possible to center the fan without another panel). I will post pictures once the fans and lights are installed. If I ever move again, I will order another. Until then I will tell all my friends/neighbors/family about Patio Kits Direct. read more

I have to say that I would absolutely order another patio cover from PKD. My expireince with their entire team was nothing short of amazing! Starting out my sales rep Steven Runyan, did a great job walking me through the entire process. He was very responsive and most importantly made sure I was ordering exactly what I needed. He didn't try to upsell me like most of the other companies I called to get quotes on which was another plus for me. Once I made my purchase, I was setup with Rosa Ramirez who is their customer service executive. Again, she was very responsive and answered all email communications promptly. Lastly, after reading a few negative reviews, I noticed people complaining about the time frame. Rosa kept me informed on the production and delivery of my product. She said it would be 3-6 weeks and I got it within that time frame. I will be ordering from them again and I recommend them for anyone else. read more

Andrew at PKD is amazing. Kind, thoughtful, patient. He worked with me over several weeks and many different configurations until I figured out what I wanted. I got to meet him in person when I dropped in to the office to check out the showroom. Not only is the product good, the service is top notch. He has continued to respond to requests and random questions as I piece this project together. If it weren't for Andrew, I'd have a different review... This is because the YouTube videos made by the owner are choppy, short, and full of assumptions. If these were revised, I'm sure sales would improve. Why? Because although I'm pretty handy, there are some fundamentals and tricks of the trade that are left out in the videos. The material is good, easy to manipulate but the DIY instructions are only an 80% solution. Will recommend to friends/family and likely order more. Thanks Andrew! You need a raise $$!! read more

If anyone looking to do some backyard DIY project like this. I 100% highly recommended this company. Not only it's the cheapest kits (bang for your buck) with same materials (good lasting quality) that a major contractors use but the entire team are superb, starting with my sale rep Andrew who guided me from the start, answers questions, calls n texts, and refers you to the appropriate team if needed. Starting with their website, the 3D builder quote and a lot of infos menus to their YouTube instructions, they will still work with you as you build your patio by phone or video call even though they the instructions thru email already. Just ditch the contractor and call (I bet you already use their 3D build quote). Make sure you check your city's building department for all the requirements and restrictions! Building my patio cover myself was fun and a great project for the do-it-yourselfer. Instruction are a bit generic due to varied types of installs I suppose, but Bill and Kyle where just a phone call away and always there to help. I shopped around and considered a lot if different patio covers, but after talking with Bill and looking over their website and seeing the quality of the materials made for an easier decision. Good product, outstanding service! Bill and Kyle were a joy to deal with. Bill was very patient with me over several weeks of researching the project, asking a ton of questions.....and changing my mind more than once. I had some product damage on receipt, but even though Bill was out of the country, he dealt with it promptly via email. My project was non-standard. I combined an insulated cover and lattice sharing a common header 28 feet long, and so I had several questions during construction. Kyle responded to my texts within minutes; often with a call to make sure I understood. (Now that's tech support!) Like I said, these guys are the best. Yes....This is our Patio end result! It came out better than we hoped. We live in an association neighborhood that had to approve our specs, color, height etc of this patio. They came back and approved the entire finished project. Andrew from Patio Kits Direct was very helpful and informative. He was also very pleasant to speak to, and provided a lot of helpful tips. I was so pleased with the color he suggested, matched our home and concrete wonderfully. My husband installed this whole patio himself with the help of one friend and the instruction of Patio Kits Direct. Extremely happy with the service I received from this company. I met with Bill at the Wildomar location and he took time to go over different options for what I wanted. Their website is user friendly to design the patio cover you want with the different options available . Patio Kits is a company that cares about its customers and sees things through. It's refreshing to know there are still companies out there like this one. There was a small issue when things were shipped to my house. I emailed support on a late Saturday and actually received a call from the owner within 10 min. of sending the email to resolve the issue. I couldn't believe he was willing to call on a late Saturday evening to ensure the issue didn't linger over the weekend. I couldn't be happier with my Pergola. The main person I went through was Andrew and I cannot give this dude more props. Great company as well. When I started looking at these kits, I knew nothing about headers, facia, pans, etc. Andrew spent hours talking to me on the phone and going over engineering drawings to ensure I was up to code. I wound up with a steel C beam that was inserted into the 18ft header beam and two posts. Even when the directions weren't clear, I always got a call back and a good explanation of the procedures. If you're looking for a DIY project, can measure and have some knowledge of tools I can't recommend these guys enough. Very pleased. read more

They did save some of the good posts and beams as I had asked. When installation came, they took my wood! They did not completely replaced the rotting fascia, as I was told they would during the sale. There were some unfinished points that were corrected after several calls. The shades I had were not able to be reused because they were too heavy for the aluminum so Wilfred volunteered to run to Home Depot to get some. But...when I asked for the receipt I was told it would be e mailed, which never happened. After several calls and e mails. i finally went to Home Depot myself and found out he had charged me about double. I sent a message with pictures but still no answer. I am a senior person who trusted and was grateful. Very disappointing.

I ended up selecting a Duralum cover that his company also offers, and I'm glad I did. It's just the look I was going for. I was also impressed with Adam's business model, which is built on quality and efficiency at a very reasonable price without cutting corners or sacrificing customer service. Now for the best part: A guy named Brody, his lead installer. In addition to being a super nice guy, his work is meticulous. The back of my home isn't linear, so there are bump-outs and protrusions, making the installation more difficult and time consuming. This wasn't the slightest challenge for Brody and his team. The finished product is snuggled tightly against my stucco and professionally sealed on the roof to prevent any water dripping through when it rains. I watched him work, measuring and cutting the aluminum to match my home so the fit and finish is far greater than I imagined.
