We searched far and wide locally and on the internet for a replacement fireplace surround. California Mantels in Anaheim had a great showroom but it was darn near impossible to get a written quote. They also wanted to charge for all the accessories such as a hearth and the filler panels. We then found a vendor online and saw that they were based out of LA - LA Cast Stone something or other. We drove an hour and a half there and saw their very limited showroom. The designs were also very dated and unimpressive. Most of their business was focused on fulfilling internet orders and they failed to provide us with a written quote even though I bugged the owner with text messages for a whole week afterwards. We finally found Studio Design Works - they were very responsive and yelp and met the owner, Wayne, on a Saturday morning. He walked us through the options and the pricing was very straightforward and reasonable. We picked out our favorite design and finish, ad scheduled a measurement that very day, shortly after the measurement he sent us a proposal which included CAD drawings. We put down 50% for the deposit and waited several weeks for the install. His installer Arturo was very meticulous and thorough. We had to leave during the install but came back pleasantly surprised. The new fireplace looks like a million bucks. It really is the centerpiece of the room and was well-worth the investment. Highly recommend shopping here before anywhere else. read more

I'd suggest going to their Santa Ana location and seeing the pieces in person as there is only so much you can do on a website a w photos.
