My 30 yr. old gas fireplace needed to be replaced. I had no idea how to find a company that would convert my gas to electrical, so I took a chance and went to speak with Schelle at Canyon Fireplace. She gave me information about their service and I scheduled to start the work. Schelle was very accurate with measurements and the unit that would work for my space. I had to wait a couple months to actually start the work, as this company is in great demand. At start date, Rob was on time and did a great job with installing my unit and converting my gas to only electric for my unit. He answered my question thru out the process. After 10 years of planning, my wife and I were ready to proceed with replacing our two original fireplaces with new ones. We vetted four fireplace contractors and eventually settled on Canyon Fireplace. When the project started, I was immediately impressed with Rob's workmanship. But more importantly, he is a craftsman. No shortcuts. Makes adjustments as needed based on the individual requirements of our structure. He was fastidious and extremely meticulous about his workmanship. After the second of four days, I told Rob I already knew I made the right choice in going with his company. Rob cleaned up after each day and left no tools or clutter even though I said he shouldn't bother since he was returning in the morning. We did a lot of research throughout Orange County, and once we found Canyon Fireplace, we knew Rob and Schelle were the experts we needed to handle our entire fireplace remodel. Our project included demolishing our existing fireplace, hearth, adjacent pony wall, and attached cabinet. The remodel included installing a modern linear gas fireplace, mounting a concrete mantle, installing stacked stone from floor to ceiling, rerouting the gas supply, installing two stories of new flue pipe, and adding electrical so that we could mount our TV above the fireplace. Rob and Schelle gave good advice when it came to selecting which color stacked stone to choose and what fireplace trim color would look best with our stonework. Our fireplace turned out stunning and we are enjoying it right now in this cold spell (it puts out a lot of heat)! Robb was a true perfectionist! He made sure to grout the stacked stone so that there are no gaps or open spaces, plus he thought to use a sample of our new flooring that we were going to put in after the fireplace remodel to make the fireplace flush with the wall. It took us a long while to find Canyon Fireplace, but once we did we never had to look back. We were looking for someone to build up a brick hearth, add a mantle, redo the inside with a new gas log and glass door, and an eventual painting of brick. Schelle initially had us send pictures of our fireplace and concept ideas of what we were looking for. Next she came out to the house for measurement and inspection to give us our bid. She was on time and professional. We quickly got the bid, which was quite reasonable, and then the concept drawings. We signed the contract and we were off. Next, Rob came out to complete the job. Two days of work and boom, it was done. We also contracted with them after the fireplace remodel to add a chimney cap and that was the cherry on top to complete the remodel. We used our own painter to add the finishing touch to the brick and now we have exactly what we envisioned. I want to give an honest review for Canyon fireplace and Schelle Lewis. First of all, I purchased my gas fireplace from the store, they offered a competitive price for the unit so I was happy to purchase from them. Ms Lewis said she would call when the unit was ready and I never received a call or email from them for like over 6 months. Later to find out they didn't have my correct number OR email so they weren't able to contact me (supposedly) okay it happens. No problem A few months later I asked her if the company could install my fireplace the original contractor I hired wasn't able to do it so I asked Ms Lewis. She said of course, then collects payment. Tells me I'm in the queue and she'll let me know when we are up because they are busy. Ok great I understand. They come once to inspect the job that needs to be done and says the drywall isn't completely removed and they couldn't see how the unit was vented. I told them they or I could remove it no problem and asked to be scheduled again for the install. This was back in February. It is now April 4th and I've tried contacting her multiple times with ZERO response. What a huge waste of time and money. Please give your business to someone else. This business is very unprofessional. Don't expect them to follow through with your install cause apparently they are too busy to even respond to your messages once they've been paid. read more

As if 2020 wasn't enough of a sh*t show, we had a house fire less than two weeks before Christmas. Between interviewing contractors, dealing with the insurance company and salvaging what was left of our sanity, finding Canyon Fireplace was a godsend. Canyon Fireplace finished our master bedroom fireplace a few months ago. It was a complete renovation; new mantel, new tile, new doors and an electronic ignitor. I was very impressed with Schelle's knowledge when gave the estimate. It's clear that she has years of experience and know what they are doing! The process took much longer than expected, but that's beyond their control. Supply chain issues! I will say that the customer service has room to improve - even with COVID struggles and 'being busy', I didn't understand why took several attempts to connect via phone and email. But hey - Canyon Fireplace is their own company with their own rules. I disagree with other reviews; I never felt like I was getting "scammed". We eventually always connected and when we did I felt like I was getting real information, not a run-around. The installation itself was INCREDIBLE. The owner, Rob, does the installation himself and it's clear he's an expert and doesn't cut corners. He's friendly, works quickly and takes pride in his work. His assistant is equally nice and hard working. The before and after pictures say it all! In the end, I would use them again and would go into the process with different expectations on communication. She has a patient demeanor and a keen sense of style that helped me when I was stumbling through the process of trying to find matching colors/ materials/doors. I am admittedly new to the fireplace subject and didn't really know the correct terminology at times and each time, Schelle was able to help me create what I was talking about. Installation was easy as well. The team showed up on time and finished the job when they said they would. The gentleman installing was very nice and knowledgeable as well. I completed the fireplace in two separate steps. the first part was Refacing the actual stone. We decided to upgrade our fireplace from a dark box of nothing (see attached photo) to a gas fireplace while staring at the four walls of our home during lockdown in 2020. Schelle was quick to come out and give me a quote, noting our fireplace currently wasn't up to code. Good thing we never used it. Due to the pandemic the materials were several months out so our project was scheduled to complete right before Thanksgiving. When Rob went to pick up the materials from the tile distributor he saw it was not the tile we order. They worked with the distributor to correct the error delaying our project for a couple more weeks. Since we were coming up on the holidays, Rob came out and installed the gas fireplace without the tile so we could have something nice to look at for Christmas. To our surprise, our pandemic baby came 1 month early and was born on Dec. 18th. Since I was going to have a newborn at home I asked Rob and Schelle to delay the project until March 2021, when the baby was a little older. Right on time, Rob and team was able to start the tile work March 1st, bringing our fireplace up to code. As the tile was being added it looked very different than expected and was clashing with our floor tiles. I brought this up to Schelle and she worked with the tile distributor finding a white tile that was exactly what I was looking for! Rob and Schelle have gone the extra mile to work with us and delivered the fireplace we always wanted in the highest of quality.
