    Old fireplace completely removed

We worked with Debbie the whole time and started the process to order a fireplace mantle when we were in escrow months ago. Once we got the keys, design expert Michael came out and helped us narrow down the design and measured our existing old fireplace and firebox, and discussed how it would look installed, and helped us pick a color and material finish. We went back and forth and finalized the drawings for a design we liked (Josephine, one of the LA Cast Stone designs, SoCal Fireplace Mantels' new parent company). We paid the deposit and signed off on the drawings and our fireplace went into the queue for manufacturing. Weeks later we got a call to see the final piece in the factory, and the next day they installed it. Francisco and Juan drove out in a big van and brought the pieces (mantel, filler block pieces, hearth). They set up a canopy and worked in the driveway and living room. They demolished the old chunky fireplace (but kindly helped us salvage much of the old marble stone tiles). They framed and drywalled and leveled and mudded the wall. Then they cleaned up the floor and installed the new hearth with cement and cement board, then attached the filler pieces to the wall. Then they set the mantel down in place and measured a bunch, took it outside and shaved parts off the back, then brought it in again to see that it fit perfectly. Then they moved it out of the way again, added a 2x4 horizontal structured brace to hold the upper part of the fireplace against the wall, then finally set the fireplace using cement and shims. Then they cleaned up everything and grouted every little joint between the pieces and between the mantel and the wall. It took these experts eight hours but they worked like clockwork to attend to every detail. The results blew us away and we couldn't be more pleased. The fireplace looks like a carved stone piece that should cost three to five times as much money. We picked a material finish that highlights the stone nature of the piece and it exudes a feeling of quality and craftsmanship. It is substantial but looks crisp and detailed. It is solid but has a certain lightness and effortlessness that we will cherish for years to come. 1000% would recommend getting their install team to do the work because they will do it right. Pleased as punch. We feel blessed to have found such a showstopper piece to replace our old frumpy downer of a fireplace. The room feels new, and once we texture and paint and then replace the floor it will feel like a zillion bucks.

I can't give enough praises to this business. They made everything pretty easy. We first went to their office and Joseph greeted us. He allowed us to look around and even go to the back showroom. That's where we learned that they manufactured these mantels on site. Great news so we don't have to depend on other countries, right? Then Michael from sales came to the house to measure and give advice. He's very professional and even loves dogs. He took the time to answer all my questions. After deciding that we want to go with them, we went to their office again since my husband has more construction-type questions. Michael was in the office so he explained everything again to my husband at which point I decided to change the style since now a wall has to be built. Chose the Aphrodite and I wasn't sorry. It's beautiful. Debbie who works with them in the office is very good in communicating via text and phone calls. Francisco and crew (3 ppl) came to the house for installation. They know what they're doing. They set-up a pop up tent in the front yard and brought out all their tools and materials. They had to custom fit the pieces and it was done perfectly in my opinion. There was never a time when I was worried about my purchase. Satisfied from start to finish. I highly recommend. They don't do fireplaces, just the mantels so keep that in mind.

Joseph and his team are professionals. Pricing is very reasonable, service is excellent, and quality is also excellent. Joseph made multiple site visits and several phone calls prior to any work or receiving any funds to make sure the project is done properly. Having had a lot of experience with contractors and remodeling industry (sometimes people don't even finish jobs or don't quote accurately) I can say Joseph is a gem. Highly recommend for fireplace installs.

Just had my beautiful new mantel from So Cal Fireplace put in and it turned out amazing. Michael the sales rep was courteous and very helpful with my questions and helping keep in my budget. The installer cleaned up well and made sure I was happy.

Fireplace remodel was completed in two days which included demo of the old rock facade, replacement/tape/finish of drywall and install of new hearth/legs/mantel. We are extremely happy with the results, Joseph was great to with from quote to finish. Installer Francisco and his helper did a wonderful job and left the area very clean, they have impeccable craftsmanship, are hard working and take pride in their work. Their prices vary depending on the design you choose, but are all very reasonable considering the amount of labor involved. I definitely recommend SoCal Fireplace and Mantels for your remodel/upgrade to your existing fireplace.

I can't say enough good things about SoCal Fireplace Mantels. Michael was patient and took his time explaining our options. We went with one of their largest model- Goliath. The install was 3-4 weeks after we signed and it took about 6 hours. Last week our fireplace was installed and it has transformed our living room. It is the first thing you see when you walk into our home (picture shows the view from entryway) and the "Ooh's and Ahh's" we hear from family and friends prove how beautiful and elegant it is. Thank you to Michael, the clean and courteous install crew, and the office staff we dealt with over the phone. We are so happy and pleased with our fireplace and highly recommend you to all Yelpers.

Amazing work and excellent customer service. We upgraded our hideous river rock fireplace. We are beyond happy with SoCal Fireplace! We will call again when we need to do our second fireplace. Thank you so much!!

We can't thank this company enough. Their work was phenomenal. As you can see from the pictures, everything was spot on. From the carvings, to the color of the stone... it was everything my family and I had requested upon. This company was a pleasure to work with because they were organized, honest, and the workers were trustworthy. They did not leave UNTIL they finished every detail of their job, even if it meant staying past 9:00 pm!!!!!!! Not to mention that they were affordable and worked with our budget as well. Thank you for making our house one more detail beautiful. I highly recommend working with this company for a fireplace remodel.

Living room was well covered to minimize dust spreading to the whole house

First and foremost, Socal Fireplace mantels exceeded our expectations. After trying to contact many other companies and not having any success, we turned to Yelp. Our journey with Socal started by calling them and that's when Debbie answered our call. She was really nice, and scheduled our appointment with Joseph. Joseph showed up to our consultation appointment on time. He was very detailed in explaining every step of their process, the materials they use, and answered all the questions we threw his way. They are a family operated business and that's what's great about them. You get great personalized service and amazing quality without breaking the bank too much. Their install crew is top notch. They did a great job of covering up our new floors and sectional. During demolition they even added cushioned quilts on top of the covered floors in case anything fell. They work fast and have a vey efficient process. If you're looking to update your mantel, you must give this company a chance to earn your business. Joseph is super patient, and always makes himself available to answer questions or concerns. Too bad I only have 1 fireplace. It was a pleasure working with them.

It's been over two months since Joseph helped me select the perfect fire place and I am still amazed everytime I walk into my family room. Not only is the fireplace the perfect fit and style for my home, the installation was smooth, the price was right, and the installers were professional and cleaned up after themselves. Thank you Socal.

SoCal Fireplace was the first company I called, normally I will get three quotes to compare the prices, quality and services, but, when Joseph came to my house, I knew that's it and turned out I was right. Joseph was very professional and helpfully. He took the project personally. First, I wasn't going to get the gate, he searched website try to find a gloss door that fit my fireplace box which he doesn't make money, I buy directly myself, then I decided to change the gate, he came to my house again to measure it, help me choose the color and style. At 9 PM, I text him I changed my mind on the style. No problem! He was very patient with me. The whole process started before the New Years and he was on vacation out of country, he would answer my email within a few hours to answer my questions and concern. At the same time, I was changing the floor to tiles and I would like to have the hearth in the same level as the floor, he would work with my schedule to get installed before the tiles. The installation guys did a great job. I was amazed by how they tried to keep everything clean. They cut in my backyard, one guy was cutting, at the same time the other guy use vacuum sucking the dust, it reminded me when I get teeth cleaned in the dentist office. By end of the day, everything is clean, neat and my fireplace is gorgeous! The whole experience was amazing! I am very happy and thankful. I highly recommended SoCal Fireplace Mantels.

16foot long hearth, old surround showed black metal of firebox insert.

We had a unique raised hearth from our builder and the hearth top sat back from the edge- instead of hanging over the edge. After searching for pre-cast items for years, we found SoCal Fireplace and had a custom hearth and new surround made. Joseph was so kind on the phone, met us 2 times at our house to discuss the project. The items were ready earlier than expected. Francisco and Juan, who installed the hearth and surround, were very polite, clean, precise about the installation. It looks great and cannot wait to finish the room.

Their pricing was comparable to others, but the ability to visit their in-progress projects gave me confidence. I'm very very particular, and while no remodel is perfect, Creative worked to bring my vision to life. My advice: plan everything in detail beforehand--or hire a designer. To save costs, I handled all the design myself while working full-time, which was highly stressful. Having everything mapped out helps avoid delays, last-minute changes, or compromising on your vision. Golan and Jordan were fantastic--Golan handled planning and communication, and Jordan ensured everything stayed on track. They always responded to my texts in a reasonable amount of time. Their tile crew was exceptional (I often bumped into them because they worked long hours and weekends to complete my home and were really nice and respectful people), and they tiled nearly my entire house beautifully (we're talking 2000 sq ft of flooring, 3 bathrooms, and a fireplace). I appreciated that Creative didn't nickel and dime me for small changes, and when a gas leak was discovered (due to careless cabinetry work), they fixed it--and more (we found more leaks during the repairs)--without extra charges. Despite delays beyond their control, they completed the full renovation in about six months--from pulling permits to final inspection. Major work included a new kitchen, three bathrooms, tile flooring throughout, interior paint, a new electrical panel, and whole-house LED recessed lighting. Even after the job was done, they returned to fix small issues without hesitation. That kind of follow-up is rare in a world full of disappearing contractors. I would recommend Creative for any remodeling project, big or small.

We've interviewed a few home builders, checked out their work and reputation, and eventually decided to go with Gil, Oren, and the whole team of Go Home Builders. Working with the insurance was a pain, luckily Gil had experience working with Allstate insurance before, and he helped us a lot getting the money we needed to rebuild our home. The planning process took a bit longer than what we initially planned for. The county of LA took their sweet time approving our plans. Fortunately, after 2 sets of revisions we were fully approved. The construction wasn't bad at all, they had plenty of guys working on our home at the same time. The only time there was no work, was on inspection days. The finishes was one thing that was extremely important for us. My wife and I are detail oriented and wanted to make sure we're choosing the right company to do the finish work correctly. All I can say is that they exceeded my expectations. Overall the beginning of the process was extremely emotional challenging, but the whole team of Go Home Builders made us feel like we're not alone. My wife and I are very grateful for them. I'd highly recommend.

I had a rough vision in mind for fitting a lot into a relatively small space, but wanted to see the options rendered so I could better make the big layout and design decisions. Alexis was very patient and super helpful in mocking up each iteration until we locked in the final design. Once it was time to actually break ground, Gil, Oren, Uriel, and the rest of the team were really responsive and always available by text. Unlike previous contractors we've worked with, they usually gave us an idea of what was happening the next day/week and who to expect onsite. The first ~70% of the project went really smoothly and far exceeded my expectations. Demo, framing, rough plumbing, and electrical all largely went without a hitch. We ran into some problems towards the end around communication, timeline, and subcontractor oversight -- which led to more delays when someone punctured our new in-wall toilet tank and flooded both the bathroom and bedroom. We know every construction job runs into challenges so we weren't bent out of shape by it, and we did appreciate that GHB took full responsibility for fixing the issues. By and large we were really impressed by most of their subcontractors, especially the very professional and considerate plumbing, electrical, and tiling teams! After living with our new bathroom for a while now, we can definitely say it was worth the wait, and such a huge improvement over our previous dysfunctional layout. Thanks to GHB for their great service, amazing attitude, attention to detail, and for bringing the bright, colorful bathroom of my dreams to life!

Throughout the entire process, Mike was very professional and the level of expertise he exhibited was obvious. Before Mike, I had met with 3 other contractors to compare services and quotes but what sealed the deal for me was the 3D render service Mike offered. It was affordable and it would be free if you end up going with MDM for your remodel. Mike was able to get the renderings to me very quickly and made adjustments whenever we wanted to change something. Seeing the details of the renderings really brought what we were envisioning to life and helped with the design process. Fast forward to beginning of demo/construction, Mike's employees were impressively fast and efficient at their jobs, but what really impressed me was how clean they kept our property after each day of work. And that stated true throughout the entire process of our 7 month renovation. During construction, if there were any last minute changes, Mike would always try to cater to our needs whenever possible. Even if subcontractors made mistakes with anything, Mike would make sure it is fixed and perfect right away. Keep in mind, you can't rely on Mike for everything (as much as you might want to). We did new tile, vanity, lighting, and a walk-in shower, and the quality really shows. Hard to find a contractor this consistent and reliable. Pricing felt fair too, especially for the level of work. Definitely recommend MDM Remodeling if you're doing a bathroom remodel in Los Angeles we'll be using them again.

So when we finally had our main bathroom redone after the Eaton fires he was the only contractor we called. And the results were amazing. Artin was very responsive to our texts and questions. As with any big project things can surprise you. We went shopping at Home Depot for our materials (tile, vanity, mirror, window). Along the way Artin gave us good feedback and direction as to what worked. He had a team of skilled workers (tile guy Jimmy was AMAZING, often working late to cut tile and finish off the floor and shower tiles) and all of his folks were a pleasure to work with. Artin and his team taped off our bedroom to keep dust off our room and was very careful about cleaning up as they went. We did encounter a few "ooopsies" like discovering shoddy workmanship from the prior builder and leaks causing wood rot over the years. Artin showed us everything and gave us options. He always was transparent about price and options. Because of the surprises the job took longer than anticipated but we wanted it done right. And MMM did it right. We truly feel we found the best contractor in the area. And we love our new bathroom!!
