I had a fantastic experience with Fireplace Freddie and would highly recommend them to anyone needing chimney or fireplace work. They performed repairs on the chimney of my home in Glendale, and their expertise was evident from start to finish. After the initial inspection, they developed a plan to repair the chimney, including the flue and smoke chamber. However, when the technicians arrived to begin the work, they suggested a different approach: installing a new stainless steel chimney liner instead of repairing the existing flue tile mortar joints. After discussing the options with them, I agreed that the new liner was the better solution. What really impressed me was that Fireplace Freddie completed the new installation at no additional charge, even though it involved more work and took longer than originally planned. They clearly cared more about doing the job right than simply sticking to the original scope of work. After the repairs were completed, they came back to inspect everything and make sure the work had been done properly. They also repainted the fireplace, making it look brand new again! Everyone I worked with, from the initial inspection through the final follow-up, was fantastic. They were professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely a pleasure to work with. It's refreshing to find a company that takes such pride in its work and stands behind what it does. I couldn't be happier with the experience and would absolutely recommend Fireplace Freddie! read more

I reached out to Fireplace Freddie via Yelp to get a quote on a new Chimney Cap and 2 Dampers. The representative from this Company communicated via Yelp's message system and asked a lot of questions. Then gave me a lot of information that I had not asked for. In any case I did not feel comfortable with the communication I received. I was not looking for an educational course on Chimneys. I went with another Vendor that Yelp had recommended and I am very happy with the service and communication they provided. read more

I was impressed with the quality of attention to detail and the wholistic approach to discuss the work recommended vs needed. The work performed on our chimney was quick and clean up was thorough. Also surprised of the follow up to check on how the work was holding up and still as it should be. This brought a sense of comfort and valued the extra care. read more

Repair and replacement of chimney were done most professionally. My wife and I were pleased.

Had an amazing experience yesterday. Thank you to the whole crew that came out, protected my furnishings and especially to Jose who went above and beyond handling the extra mess we did not anticipate! read more

I wanted to share a positive experience we had with Fireplace Freddie. They reviewed an assessment from our home inspector and broke it down into clear, tangible pieces of work that actually mattered for us: repairing old masonry, cleaning out the chimney, and fixing internal mechanisms so the fireplace could be safely usable again. They were respectful of our time, highly communicative, and flexible to our needs throughout the process. The crew worked quickly and efficiently, and they were friendly, professional, and easy to talk to. They took the time to explain what they were doing and why, which made the entire process easy to understand and reassuring. Pricing felt fair for both the scope and the custom nature of the work. We'd absolutely work with Fireplace Freddie again and would recommend them without hesitation. read more

Having a very positive experience. It's not handyman cheap, but they are pros. Sincere and responsible and courteous and seem to really care about the details. They worked with my schedule and have been very quiet for construction work. read more

I never thought about the cleaning of a chimney, but I've been educated, I understand proper care and safety of the fireplace. Fireplace Freddy was profession, reasonable and informative. Highly recommend getting the inspection and cleaning. read more

We hired Fireplace Freddie to inspect and fix our 100-year-old fireplace & chimney, making it safe to burn real wood again. Nick and Scott came out quickly, and used cameras to inspect. During the inspection Nick visually showed me what the issues were. He also verbally suggested the fix. After the inspection, we received pics and a price quote to fix the issues by installing a stainless steel sleeve in the chimney. We sent the pics and info to 3 other businesses to compare prices. After speaking with Nick numerous times, including 2 conversations with my old school contractor buddy who asked Nick just about every ridiculous question he could possibly think of, Nick remained cool and answered all of his questions. Nick also agreed to do the job with a permit from LADBS which they included in the price, so we decided Fireplace Freddie was the right company to do the job. Patrick was our installer. He had a co-worker, but I didn't catch his name. They showed up on time, covered the floor and furniture and did their job. It took a few days as they said it would, but they were on time, clean and friendly. Each day they came, they covered everything. Each night, they cleaned up and uncovered everything before they left. Patrick also dealt with our LADBS inspector who admittedly was not well versed in chimney repair. Patrick was very friendly, gave the inspector the information he needed including printed specs from the manufacturer, and we passed inspection w/o issue. Scott came back 1 week later to test the fireplace. He lit a fire to make sure it was all good, and it is. To sum it all up, everyone was friendly and professional. The job went super smooth, and we are able to use our wood burning fireplace again, safely.  I would highly recommend Fireplace Freddie. A+ read more

Fireplace Freddie was fantastic from start to finish. Nick came out twice to inspect my fireplace in the middle of a refresh. Both times he was absolutely amazing. He was professional, on time, and his work was spotless--no mess, no drama, just solid craftsmanship the way it should be done. No pressure and even called his supervisor to double check the recommendations he had for us. It's rare these days to find someone who takes pride in their work, and Nick definitely does. I'm already looking forward to referring Fireplace Freddie to family, friends, and anyone else who needs quality work done right. read more

These guys aren't screwing around. Our fireplace was janky. Nick came out and did a great job assessing the situation, educating me on why it wasn't working, and provided a reasonable quote on the spot. They had the job done quickly, the crew worked CLEAN. Not a speck of dust found in our house after the job was done. Don't hesitate. You can trust them. read more

great service, very happy I'd highly recommend to anyone looking to get their fireplace back in top condition!!

After 16 years in our home, it was finally time for us to make our fireplace operational. I called Fireplace Freddy who had done our original chimney inspection when we purchased our home. Scheduling the inspection, then the work and finally the quality control follow-up was seamless. They communicated at every step along the way and arrived when they said they would. We decided to go with gas and couldn't be happier with the end result. Would highly recommend Fireplace Freddy! read more

After two quotes for work on our chimney, we reached out to Fireplace Freddie's and are so happy we did. We recently moved into the house and wanted to get the chimney taken care of right away. We met first with Nick, who went over every aspect of our chimney repair work. The meeting with him was head and shoulders above the two previous companies. Nick was so knowledgeable, professional and thorough. We were able to get the work done before the fall rush and the lead on the job Blake, along with his assistant did careful and thorough work in some pretty hot weather. It seems our chimney had never been maintained so it was a real safety issue. Nick showed us what needed to be done via a camera. Blake showed us all the repairs via camera. Everything was very transparent with no surprises. What I really liked was that there is a follow up with Quality Control who inspected the work, did carbon monoxide testing and set up our gas ceramic log set. Their office was responsive and working with Cheryl in accounts was easy. The cost was in line with the other companies but the excellent work Fireplace Freddie's did gave so much more bang for our buck. And now we can safely enjoy our fireplace this winter! read more

Responsive, ease of doing business, quickly scheduled the work. I would absolutely work with this company again.

I highly recommend Fireplace Freddie. They were very responsive and educated me regarding their concerns. From Nick initially meeting with me to write an estimate, to Patrick and Will coming out to do the work, I felt confidence in them and relieved that we were having the issues addressed in a complete and professional manner. The quality of the work was excellent, and the price was appropriate for the work that needed to be done. Very pleased and once again, highly recommend! read more

These guys are really excellent and deserve their good reviews. We had a smell of gas and brought them out for a checkup. They ran a camera and told us that the fireplace had not been installed properly by the builder in 2001 and that it was a major fire risk. They showed us the pictures of the metal flume not being attached properly and exposing the surrounding wood frame to heat and fire. Super dangerous. They scheduled the work and over 7 days finished it. I kid you not they probably had 7 different people come and work on different aspects, including having a quality control team. I really liked that they brought a separate team out to inspect the final work. That team ran quality control. That team found another minor problem with their own work and they redid it. The only thing I was surprised at was the cost of the entire project. But I think I didn't understand that fireplaces can be very expensive to repair internal damage. Overall, they are one of the most professional teams in the construction and repair industry I have ever seen. read more

I used Fireplace Freddie in the heart of the COVID epidemic and their prices were very reasonable and their communication was great I have a duplex and both chimneys and fireplaces needed to be rebuilt and brought to code They did a really nice and professional job and a few weeks later after strong rain, I had a leak- they immediately came out to repair it but in the end it wasn't from their work- it was a roofing issue I highly recommend them for any thing having to do with your fireplace read more

It is rare I would right such a long review but they deserve the praise. We had a slow constant drip when it rained. They came out and gave us an estimate. Put a camera up the chimney and found the way the water was coming in. They did tell us the price could go up because there were things they would not know until they were in the chimney. The crew was amazing and worked on the chimney for three days. I have never seen someone work as hard as they did in the pouring rain. When we saw them on our Starbucks run they were smiling as it pour on them. Of course we brought them Starbucks back. This chimney had not been worked on for 30 years. There were many issues with code that had to be brought up to code. So with the extra work they did we should never have any issues again. We would highly recommend having them service your chimney. read more

My wood burning pre-fabricated fireplace had much creosol, I was told I had to replace my entire fireplace. I had a professional inspection report done and was recommended to Fireplace Frddie. Nick examined the report and told me the fireplace could be restored and proposed a list of thing to be examined and then designated the plan for restoration. The workers were professional punctual and clean as they inspected the metal flue pipe with a camera and removed the creosol, strapped the metal flue pipe down, fixed a couple of fire hazard areas and replaced the exterior cap and hood and reassembled the entire chimney. Kuno and his workers were proficient in their work and it tool two days, then Scott did the final inspection and test fire. I am very pleased and satisfied with the service of Fireplace Freddie. read more

Our old home was showing signs of water damage in our fireplace. Nick came out and did a thorough inspection, showing us the video feed as it appeared on his screen and explaining what we were seeing. Kuno and Stefan were careful to cover everything in the living room, did the work over 2 extremely long days and made sure to check for gas leaks before they left. We had a misunderstanding as to the cost of renting a lift, and they made several calls to find out why I was unhappy and then were totally fair in resolving the issue. I am sure that they fixed our fireplace properly, but I am also sure that if I have any problems in the next months, they will be out to take care of it. read more

I was recommended to Fireplace Freddie (FF) by another contractor, who couldn't get to my job, they investigated and spoke to FF about my exact needs and called me to recommend them. My desire was to replace my fireplace with an up to date model without a pilot light in my townhome in Culver City that was built in the early 70's. They knew exactly what type I needed, I did provide them with the existing make and model along with its dimensions .... it was easy working with FF, from my initial call, which involved a very thorough Q&A regarding my wants and desires which revealed all that I needed and at a cost far less than I expected. My install occurred approximately 5-6 months ago, today we will be contacting FF for two other properties today. read more

Updating my review as they reached out after I wrote this to explain some worker injuries and planned vacation that kept them from responding in a timely manner. Although their prices are quite high for the work and out of my budget, Jordan was very helpful in explaining the new code and what can and cannot be done. It looks like the unit I was looking at will not work - very insightful (and scary) as other experts in the field did not pick up on the code details of the gas vent fireplace requirements. Note to homeowners, you have to do your own due diligence on reading code requirements, installation manuals and ask a lot of questions even to the experts as they have varying degrees of understanding of code laws. Do not take anything at face value even if they are a reputable company and have 5 star reviews. I've learned the hard way. Thanks for getting back to me Jordan. read more

I got a weird vibe from them and decided not to move forward with the project. The guy who came out was late, I needed to call to figure out why they didn't call me. I was charged $125 for him coming to the house to "inspect" before quoting. I happily paid it, but then needed to call and nudge to even get a quote. The quote had little detail, not even a link to the fireplace they were recommending but lots of warning about not covering plaster and paint and holes. They never followed up after sending the quote. I would have said no thank you but hey they never asked. They got my $125 and i went another way. Be careful if your job isn't huge they don't seem to be interested. Update: Freddie called me within 10 minutes of the review going up. We had a nice talk and he refunded my credit card. Thus I am updating my rating. read more

I'm incredibly pleased with hiring Fireplace Freddy and Renzo in particular. They were incredibly responsive to all of my questions and concerns, completed all work as promised in a timely fashion, and their price was reasonable compared to some other quotes I had received to stabilize our chimneys. Definitely 5 stars. Renzo prepared a thorough proposal of work needed on both fireplaces. Edgar and Luis completed many interior and exterior repairs to both fireplaces. They were very careful to cover all furniture and carpets in both rooms. They were very helpful in answering our questions about the repairs.
