Great insight especially when it comes to our chimney. We had issues with the chimney cap and the flashing in addition to the more routine elements of cleaning the interior smoke conduit. California Chimney Sweep was fantastic! They made a prompt appointment and arrived on time. All of our conversations were pleasant and all of our questions were thoroughly and politely answered. The inspection revealed a number of issues that required attention. Potential sources of water intrusion were meticulously sealed. The area inside in front of the chimney was carefully draped to catch any debris and then a vacuum device was placed in the area. Nothing escaped into the room while the chimney was carefully cleaned. As the work was done they even noted an area around one of our windows adjacent to the exterior chimney that also could be a source water intrusion and suggested that we look into having that area sealed. We were so grateful for their helpful and careful approach to our issues. California Chimney Sweep went above and beyond expectations and did a fantastic job taking care of our chimney issues!

He opened it up, looked around, and determined that it simply needed a good cleaning and some adjusting. He cleaned the unit and the exhaust, worked on it for roughly an hour, and had it working like new, for less than half the price the other company quoted us. We had a strong soot smell coming from our fireplace, likely from years of wood burning by the previous owners. Eli initially recommended a full cleaning along with gas logs and a top-sealing damper. When that didn't fully resolve the issue, he came back out to reassess and suggested installing a full gas insert as the next step. What I really appreciated was that Eli credited us for the previous work (gas logs and damper) and helped us choose an insert that made sense. The only hiccup we experienced was with the third-party vendor supplying the insert, since we initially had to pay them directly and ran into some issues. However, Eli stepped in, handled the situation, and arranged to pay the vendor himself, allowing us to reimburse him instead--which made things much smoother. Throughout both the initial service and the final installation, his crew was prompt, courteous, and efficient.

I called DannyLee to arrange an inspection and see if any work needed to be done before I lit fires in them. I am so glad I did. DannyLee was honest and communicative during the entire process. He clearly explained what needed to be done and what my options were. The final project included cleaning two of the fireplaces, a complete reline of the masonry fireplace, repairing/bringing the crowns up to code, and adding rain caps and a fan. Additionally, I had him and Rudy install gas log sets in all three fireplaces and glass doors on two of them. I was especially impressed by their professionalism: for the masonry reline, they actually built a 'clean room' to protect the rest of our home from the dust and debris! The work required several visits, and both DannyLee and Rudy were consistently friendly, courteous, and professional. Even with the extensive amount of work performed, the pricing was very fair.
