Couldn't say enough good about this father and son duo. Super honest and great work! Would t go anywhere else

I used them to take care of a bird in my Chimney. They removed the bird, made some repairs and made an upgrade all for a reasonable price. Will use them again read more

Had them out to inspect and clean three fireplaces for a house we recently moved into. Inspected all three, but they only said one needed cleaning so they didn't charge me to clean the two others that would have been unnecessary. Then, they gave me thoughts on what needed to be fixed on each of them that I could do on my own instead of paying the extra work for a professional to do it, telling me I could call back to walkthrough how to do it when the time comes. And, they filled sand into one of the fireplaces that was left bare by the previous owner with no charge. Very friendly, thorough, and honest service. Would definitely use them again. read more

Time for some Chimney maintenance. It's been a while since the time it was cleaned. Plus time to upgrade the gas log setup while were at it. First thing, do some home work on gas logs and burners. Go with remote control, safety pilot, or stick with match lite? Safety pilot system almost doubles the price of a new gas log set. Remote control + safety pilot almost triples the cost. Decided to stick with match lite. Bought a Peterson Real Fyre 24-inch Split Oak Designer Plus Log-Set with Vented G45 Dual- Flame Burner - Match-Light (Natural Gas). That's right, Vented G45 Dual- Flame Burner. Jealous? The Dual flame Model-G45 90,000 BTU VENTED burner produces more depth with rich full flames in front of the gas logs for more realism. It also came with a Custom Grate, Glowing Embers, Silica Sand, Damper Clamp and Flexible Gas-Line Connection Kit. Took Paul's advice and bought some lava rocks to fill in all around the log setup. Good call. There's a lot of things I can do around the house but things like high voltage and gas lines aren't one of them. Bring in the pros. I called a few but really liked American Chimney Sweep. Paul and his son Vinny came over and got it done. Nicest guys in the world. Very professional. They did a phenomenal job. If you hire them you will be in good hands. Ask Paul about Mary Poppins. He's an expert. Chim chiminey, chim chiminey, chim chim cher-oo Good luck will rub off when he shakes 'ands with you! read more

Paul and Vinny re-installed my rain cap that blew off in the recent (severe) windstorms. The cap was previously installed by someone else, so it's falling off is not a reflection of Paul/Vinny's work. The price was very reasonable, and both Paul and Vinny were a pleasure to deal with. I would recommend their business and work with them again. read more

By far one of the best experiences I've had with any contractor. Paul and Vinny provided a top quality experience that I wish all services would follow. They are very knowledgeable and experienced and above all else provide an honest service. I truly believe they are looking out for your best interest. I did a level 1 & 2 service along with installing a rain cap/spark arrestor and am very happy with how it all came out. If you give them a call and they are booked a week or 2 out, that's a green flag sign that tells you they are highly sought out and in demand. A++++ read more

Excellent work, fair price, explains everything, shows up on time, nice people... what else can you ask for?

Paul and Vinnie came out today to inspect our chimneys and dryer vents. Paul is a stand-up guy knowledgeable, honest, and genuine. I'm so glad we came across his business. From the moment they arrived, I felt relieved knowing we were in good hands. Even if you have to wait a week due to peak season, wait it out, trust me, these are the guys you want to service your Chimney's. Highly recommend!! read more

Paul & Vinny were lovely. 110% will use them for the rest of our homes life. Clean, professional and friendly.

Paul and his team sure know how to make a fireplace inspection engaging, fun, and educational. He gave me a 101 on maintenance and showed me different ways to trick it out without any pressure or upsells, just a few ideas to consider. Truly good customer service and value. Thank you! read more

Paul & Cristian did a terrific job. We had a lot of soot on our HVAC filter and it appeared that the previous owner of this house didn't do maintenance on the fireplace . Fortunately we didn't have any serious issues , we did the full clean sweep with camera view of our flue and chimney , We purchased a replacement vented log set w all gas lines and necessary parts items and Cristian installed . Both services were quick and professional and both guys are friendly and respectful . They were on time for both appointments with a text prior so we knew they were on their way . Paul also demos and gives great tips on usage and maintenance. I highly recommend Paul /American Chimney . you can count on the yelp reviews . Keep up the great work! read more

One word- WOW. Impressed with the high level of detail & knowledge of all things related to chimneys. Recently used his service to clean & inspect after home purchase. No upsell, price quoted on website is accurate. What a relief to confirm everything is in good working condition with 1 minor adjustment. Highly recommend this company for piece of mind before using your fireplace!! read more

We recently moved into a new home and the previous owner hadn't been in top of things with fireplace cleaning maintenance. Paul was so helpful in answering my questions beforehand, texted 15 minutes before arriving on time, and did an extremely thorough job. They were so personable and thorough in answering all of my questions. I appreciated the recommendations they gave on which type of firewood to purchase, how to properly set up my fireplaces before usage, and they left absolutely no mess! We tend to use our fireplace nightly during the winter months and will contact them for future maintenance without hesitation! read more

One word...FANTASTIC!! Paul and his team were so informative and explained everything to me so easily. I bought this house 4 years ago and it was in pretty bad shape. I hadn't had the gas chimney looked at. Paul showed me how to work the gas line, what kind of gas logs I'd need to buy if I wanted any, and what to look out for when it comes to chimneys. My chimney had no rain cap. I had him install one that same day! He even offered to have me text him what logs online I like so he can give me some advice. Truly appreciative of the great communication, great customer service and knowledge! Will definitely be working with American Chimney Sweeps from now on read more

American Chimney Sweep - Rain cap added - Chimney Sweeps Near Me - Simi Valley, California

We moved into our house almost 10 years ago, it's glorious Southern California so we never messed with the fireplace. Recently my wife decided she wanted to use the fireplace. We called American Chimney, they responded quickly and set up an appointment. They arrived within the allotted appointment time. They came in checked out the fireplace, inspected and cleaned the flue and vacuumed. We had a gas starter and some decorative logs but the set up wasn't correct. We were advised to either burn wood or purchase a vented log kit. We opted for the vented log style. They gave me the dimensions and asked that we texted them just to make sure the kit would work. There was no pressure to use them to install the kit but they said they could. We hated all the gas log sets so we opted for tempered fire glass and a fireplace burner kit. Today they came and installed everything. Super friendly and personable father and son team. Unfortunately I didn't get their names but the worked super clean and they we really personable and friendly. Overall a great job and the price they charged was fair and worth every penny. My wife and I are very happy. read more

After Rachael Ray almost lost her home in a fireplace fire, I was so freaked out that I wouldn't build a fire until I got our fireplace inspected. It was 24 years since last inspection and cleaning...I know. With no opening for almost 3 weeks, I waited. Hesitant with the current Covid 19 situation, I messaged Paul to make sure he would come with a mask on. Mask, social distancing and Costco size sanitizer in hand, I felt comfortable letting them into our home. Cleaned, inspected and tips on what wood burns best, we are ready for the season! I recommend Paul and his team 100% percent! He knows what he's doing to make fireplaces safe! We are thankful we found him! Make that appointment!! read more

American Chimney Sweep - First fire of the season! Thank you!! - Chimney Sweeps Near Me - Simi Valley, California

I wish I could give this company 10 stars! Paul and Tristan were a God-Send! My wife and I moved into our townhome in January of this year and just couldn't find anyone to come and 'simply' take the time and look at our fireplace to make sure it's safe. That's all we had asked. After many non-replies and crazy prices, we said we would wait until the Fall. Well, that time came a few days ago. We called American Chimney Sweep, and within 1-2 days, Paul and Tristan was in our home giving us TOP TO BOTTOM service! I'm talking from educating us about fireplaces, what materials to buy, myths, truths, etc. Hell, we almost forgot to have them do the service we called them for, which was to just do an actual chimney sweep lol. They were super clean, wore masks, very very affordable, all of that good stuff. Ladies and Gentlemen, you will not be sorry...HIRE THIS BUSINESS!! ps: I could sit and talk to Paul for hours! I can tell he's a great spirit and very knowledgeable guy! Just knows a lot about life. read more

Look no further for all your chimney needs. Paul the owner/operator definitely EXCEEDED my expectations on every level! Paul is reliable, punctual, and just an all-around super nice guy. We had not had our chimney cleaned or checked for safety since we moved in almost 2 years ago. And I suspected the previous owner had not kept up with chimney maintenance. Paul told me on the phone what his prices were - and they are listed on his website. No bait & switch, no gimmicks, just extremely reasonable pricing. He arrived right on time as promised, performed a thorough cleaning and went up to the roof to check out the top of the chimney. He took pictures to show me and then did a demo of how to use my gas fireplace safely, taking time to answer all my questions. He also had me do a run through on my own to ensure I understood. I cannot emphasize what a professional Paul is from A to Z. It is refreshing. Great service, great guy. Thank you Paul! read more

I wish all service people were this honest.. Paul was so professional, quick to respond, on time, and most importantly he was honest. He didn't try to sell me the moon. He explained the situation very clearly and gave me different options... I will definitely recommend him to friends. I'm very happy. Thank you so much , Paul. read more

They are the best! Did a great job with the chimney and dryer vent. Paul and his son took the time to inform me about everything that they were doing and even spent the time going over the workings of the fireplace with me. They never seemed in a rush to leave and allowed me to ask as many questions as I needed. Top notch! Hire them! You'll be glad you did! read more

Paul and his assistant came to clean my chimney and dryer vent. So pleased! They were professional, friendly, observed COVID protocol and were competitively priced for sure. Here's where they went the extra mile. First, prompt response on Yelp, second, Paul educated me on proper use of my gas fireplace and offered friendly tips....so I learned a few new things! Third, the guy who originally installed my dryer left a huge amount of vent length on the line. Paul took the initiative to trim it down for me creating a more efficient line for the heat to escape. It's little things like this that make all the difference between just getting service performed and finding a service you will keep lifetime. Thank you Paul!! read more

Had these guys out thIs past week. Like most homeowners I assume, I have no previous experience with chimney sweep cleaning services to draw from to compare these guys to. Owner came out with a younger guy who did the work. I'm sure decades of lying down on your back and staring up chimneys is hard on the body, so I get it. They asked me if I wanted to lay down and look up my chimney to see what they were talking about. Hell no! Ok, so I've been in my house for 13 years having probably 10 fires each winter. Yes, I use those easy burning fake logs. It's a gas fireplace and I burn the fake logs and put real firewood in once it's nice and hot. I get the fire nice and raging... and with it being a gas fireplace, I simultaneously hope the house doesn't blow up. At the conclusion of each fire, I silently give thanks that the house didn't blow up or burn down from a chimney fire. So, this is where I was coming from, when I called American Chimney Sweep. I wanted knowledge and reassurance. Which is what I got and why I am leaving them 5 stars. The owner is very knowledgeable and when I first called him, he guessed correctly what kind of fireplace I have based on my neighborhood. Which is to say a crappy pre-fab fireplace... but in remarkably clean condition. Phew! It's like going for a physical and learning you're going to be okay! The nice, if a little quiet and certainly very dirty, worker shoved a huge brush up my chimney and then covered the fireplace with a plastic sheet and then vacuumed up the mess. Then they patched up the cement where it needed it. They also used a special heat reinforced cement to fill in some space inside the chimney where it had fallen out, the owner surmised in the 1994 earthquake. So, my fireplace is clean. I'm reassured. Tonight I'm making a fire! read more

Excellent customer service , plus excellent work. Called 30 min upon arrival which he did say he was going to do. Explain da process and recommended some repairs. He will be back to do them. I called a few places to get quotes for a chimney sweep service. Paul, the owner answered the phone and was very straight forward in his pricing. He was more reasonable than the local competition but did not disappoint. He arrived with his son and did an awesome job. They were very clean, thorough, friendly and I would not hesitate to use them again. Awesome job! read more

Paul with American Chimney Sweep is very kind, responsive, and professional. He will take the time to chat with you to ensure safety for your home and chimney. Although we could not go with Paul as his schedule was really booked out due to recent rains and our last minute quick deadline needed for our chimney inspection, he had nothing but amazing things to say about other local reputable and local/family owned chimney servicers. This is an indication of commitment to community, neighbors, and professionalism ensuring customers have safe homes and chimneys. Although his schedule was booked out for the few days ahead, Paul generously took the time to look at photos of our chimney and advised us of possible estimated services/replacements needed and referred us to local chimney servicers to verify/confirm with closer detailed inspection. He also advised us to pursue a level 2 chimney inspection which consists of a cleaning and detailed photos/videos scoping the structure of the chimney from verified licensed professionals. For any future chimney inspections needed or chimney repair services needed, I highly recommend Paul with American Chimney Sweep who is kind, responsive, professional and truly looks out for the wellbeing of clients. read more

Great service. Friendly. Reasonable prices! Convenient availability. I will definitely use them again.

We were very happy we chose American Chimney Sweep Paul was responsive answered on the first call and arrived when scheduled with a 30-minute heads up. Paul and Venny were very thorough and professional. Did a great job at a fair price. read more

Paul and his helper were great! We moved in to this house a year ago, and we barely used our chimney. Now that it's cold and wet outside, we tried using our chimney but the high winds plus dirty flue smoked us out. We couldn't get rid of the campfire smell, nor could we use our chimney. Unfortunately because it was in the beginning of the holiday season, we couldn't get Paul out here soon enough for Thanksgiving Day. But he was quick to respond to my questions and made an appointment 2 weeks out. The day arrives and Paul and his helper showed up early and ready to work. Paul was very polite, professional, competent, and knowledgeable! While his helper prepped the chimney for sweeping, Paul gave me a quick crash course in Chimney 101. Very informative. While his helper cleaned up and wrapped up their equipment, Paul showed me some spots in the chimney that needed some TLC. For a 60 year old chimney, he said, it's in great condition! He could've totally lied to me and charged me way more- but be didn't! Paul and his helper are honest, hardworking men. I highly recommend these guys for any chimney/fireplace needs! read more

Fireplace was cleaned and repairs were made. Friendly and reasonably priced. Will use again!

Super responsive and very service oriented. His price was very fair. No reason to go elsewhere if you're in Ventura County. Gave me valuable information for the use of the fireplace and pointed out some issues with my crown that were not properly repaired when I originally overhauled the fireplace/chimney.
