Starting with Linda (my first point of phone contact), to Renzo (owner), and Jorge (technician) - communication was excellent, as was attention to detail and cleanliness. This was for a rental property with new tenants scheduled to do a walk-through and sign lease agreement in a few days. After two months of repairs and improvements, I thought everything was ready to go - until I started taking photos and realized the gas-log fireplaces were in need of cleaning and resetting. We hired fireplace 911 to do some major work on our two fireplaces. They had to rebuild the chimney crown, repair exterior brick joints, and apply an exterior treatment with water repellent. The dampers were replaced, the flues and flue joints were repaired and sealed, and the smoke chamber and surrounding areas of the flue were repaired and gaps were filled. The entire chimney pathway was then coated with high temp mortar material. We then did an update to the look of the two fireplaces. Renzo was great in researching potential alternative solutions and presenting us with the available options. He was patient and honest in responding to my many questions. After explaining some issues I had with the original service, this business was very pro-active in responding. They sent an expert team who went over my two gas fireplaces with me, showed me the shutoff valves, and explained the procedure for summer shut off that would prevent the gas leak issues I had experienced. They also replaced two ignition modules that were weaker than they should have been, which may also help. The underlying issue -- that gas fireplace units apparently don't come with an automatic gas shutoff if they are not burning -- is still there. If you turn them on and for some reason they don't ignite, the gas will run forever, as I learned with a large gas bill after one unit was accidentally turned on without my knowledge! But that's not on Fireplace 911, but rather on the manufacturers and the building code, I guess. I'm happy now with the outcome. The team that came today, headed by David, was knowledgable and patient and listened well, which I appreciated. read more

Reza was great. Originally was scheduled for a Saturday, called me with last minute availability earlier in the week. My gas fireplace had not been working for a few months. I had called the original installers, and they wanted to charge me $500 just to come take a look, and then the repair parts and labor would've been extra. For $300 flat fee, Reza came out, took everything apart, fixed it, showed me how to fix it myself the next time, and even cleaned the glass for me. They didn't tell me that, but when the chimney sweep came for what I was told was $99 for an inspection and cleaning of the box and 5 feet up the chimney, they guy came and told me it would be $485! This review is long overdue. I called Renzo's company came to diagnose the rain leak in both chimneys in January 2024 and he was able identified all the things were done wrong by of the previous chimney repair company just six months ago ( Chimeny Cricket, please be vary careful about this company at all cost.) Renzo very quickly and professionally noted three things done wrong. - the Caps were too small, - the Chase cover's slope was wrong so there was water puddle on the top of the chase cover, -and the chimney flue pipes were too short ( another company also confirmed the same findings. One more company was not as quick and clear like Renzo in identifying all the problem, even their yelp rating are in #1 ranking when I searched. I did a tons of homework and with so many questions to Renzo about the project to validate all these. I did not take people's word after got burned by Chimeny cricket company. ) - - Renzo's office staff were also very nice and professional when I had to cancel the first call after I got sick. They were genuinely nice and accommodating on scheduling. - One can immediately tell after meeting Renzo that he is such a straight forward guy, and knows his work really well, and he is also very transparent in his answers. His working crews are also nice to work with. Since I was wronged by the previous contractor, so I have been quite uneasy and being extra careful, and trying to understand the details of the repair as U may could have imagined in advance before hiring another one.
