Firehouse Subs does a lot of philanthropic work throughout the year - discount days to honor various professions and then periodic big donation days too where profits go to xyz. Today my son and I came after a hard day's yard work to enjoy a bogo for teacher appreciation day. Turns out it was yesterday! But the mgr, Aaron, immediately ok'd it anyway after I showed him my creds, salvaging my cool dad rep! Their hot subs are the way to go. We ordered a medium NY Steamer and Smokehouse beef/cheddar brisket. At 8 inches and about $10 each they're on the pricier side but - as so many others noted - the bread is better than most and the meats are lean and thinly shaved. Altogether a really good sub. I'd probably tackle a large next time though. Fountain drinks are self-serve and dispense via a digital kiosk where you can choose from two dozen various sodas and MinuteMaid juices (Coke products). I love those dispensers, even if deciding can be a bit daunting. Clean, gender specific bathrooms and ample private parking round out the experience. One of my most favorite sub sandwiches. Their flavors are outstanding. Firehouse just does it right. It doesn't make any difference which sandwich you get, it is just a gob smackin', grubbin' sandwich. So good. I do go out of my way to have a Firehouse sub. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. I love the concept behind the business and the influences it draws from fire departments. There are real fire jackets from the Tucson Fire Department hung up on the wall by the registers! As for the subs, there weren't any wow factors. I have nothing to critique on, besides for the price! It's a little pricey for what they are. They were still yummy though! Horrible experience recently at this location. Our orders were incorrect thr staff were messing up multiple customers orders while we dined here. When we got our food, that was still made inaccurate. We didn't want them to fix it because of the type of attitude ms that were being given by staff. The restaurant dinning area climate was very hot, humid and uncomfortable. Overall it has been sometime since last eating at a Firehouse Subs and I did not miss it. I can't recommend this location to anyone. read more

Was it the mood for something maybe a little bit healthier and so we went past firehouse subs and decided to give it a whirl. It was not a normal time to get food for there was virtually nobody in the place. It was nice and clean though. I liked the patio area. I tried the spicy Cajun chicken with the loaded soup. It was pretty good. The service was professional and nice. Price was alright. I like the idea of supporting emergency services. Overall it was good and I'd have it again. I had had Firehouse Chilli before and it was always tasty, never had a sandwich. I must say I have been sleeping on this place. The bread was fresh and was very tasty. I got the club sub and it was one of the better ones I have had. This place uses some pretty good quality ingredients, and you can tell it pays off. Today was our FIRST time trying fire house subs! FOOD IS AMAZING FOOD IS DELICIOUS !!! Created our own Pastrami, and had a Turkey Sub. The reason for my 1 star is because of the Cashier Aaron. My Significant other is trying to order his create your own, and Aaron is beyond disgusting with his attitude. He asked the difference between the deli mustard and if it's the same as yellow mustard, Aaron gave us a Snarky "no", he asked for the topping and Aaron POINTED at the sign as if we are animals, of the toppings instead of respectfully saying "this sign right here provided your options of toppings" Aaron had a nasty attitude and was extremely rude and didn't smile, he was negative the entire time at the register. My Significant other just said "sorry it's our first time". He asked to make sure the sub it hot and Aaron's response was "their not cold" okay? You can simply say "oh of course all of our subs are hot in house" And We shouldn't have to apologize for asking questions when it's our first time Dinning in. The service by Aaron was just awful. I enjoyed my first time at Firehouse Subs! They made sure to enforce safety measures by enforcing masks and social distancing while inside the restaurant. There was inside seating, but tables and chairs were separated at a healthy distance. At a time when so many businesses are struggling and not a lot of people are dining in, it is sad to walk into an establishment and be treated like a burden. This is the second time we had a negative experience at this location. The (manager?) Ariel had a negative attitude and when my husband asked some questions about the combos she was visibly irritated and annoyed which made the experience uncomfortable. We realized that the small sandwiches were too small even for a little kids so my husband went back up to the counter to order another one and I heard her say a smart remark which I will not repeat. This past week, I was somewhat dismayed. I ordered the New York cheesesteak, because they still were advertising it, even though it was a special. I also asked for hot pepper relish on my sub. Well, it was a pick up so I didn't check them before we sat down to eat. The sub had no peppers on it hardly any lettuce, I don't think there was onion on it, but it was still quite good. The variety of sandwiches seemed endless with make your own option. They had a few suggested sandwiches on the menu, the usual club, tuna turkey. Then they have their specials like hook and ladder and the engineer... U have to go there to find out what they are. They gave me a sample of their corned beef deli and it was freshly cut and delicious. The club sandwich I had was amazing! A nice fresh baked it seemed bread with a warm core. The contrast in temperature gave a curious and inviting flavor to everything.... Hard to describe. The sauce was sweet yet tangy with a heaping pile of meats nestled between the lettuce and tomatoes. Today was my first day trying Firehouse Subs. I ordered off of Uber Eats, and I ordered the turkey breast with some customizations. I enjoyed the bread; the texture of the toast was just right, however I believe the roll was buttered and then toasted, or the griddle had oil or something on it, and the butter gave a bit of an off taste as to how it reacted with the rest of the ingredients. The turkey and cheese did seem high quality, the turkey did not taste smoked by any means, but there was just a pound of mayonnaise in the way of really getting to their flavors there, and I just happen to prefer a little less in the way of condiments. The vegetables were a little soggy because of the mayonnaise, as well. Overall, is it a terrible lunch? Absolutely not. Would it be my first choice over other sandwich chains? I would have to try more off the menu to widen the perspective of my palate.
