My go-to is always a sandwich--an Italian one, especially--and this spot absolutely delivered. The place has a cool vibe with fun memorabilia on the walls, and they donate to great causes, which I love. They offer a wide variety of delicious hot sauces and even have a soda machine with tons of flavors to choose from. The fresh-baked cookies were so good...I couldn't resist having two! This review is not for the employees. It's the portion size and probably company policy. We used to visit this store a lot and that was with the portion of deli meats risking me getting an attack of gout- that's how stacked up the sandwich was! Well, no need to worry about that anymore. $18 for 3 thin cuts of meat. My friend said he doesn't want to return either, and he loves their sandwiches. Or used to. But he also claimed the sandwich was subpar and barely had anything on it. read more

We arrived when there was no line, waited for over a minute to be acknowledged and another minute or more for someone to take our order. There was no sense of urgency to help is as customers. We love Firehouse subs but with lots of locations it's not hard to choose a different location. It might be worth confirming how important it is to take orders, once the order is taken the customer rarely leaves. read more

My brother and I decided to stop in at Firehouse Subs for Sandwiches after we hit the driving range in College of the Desert near Thousand Palms.. I ordered two medium subs. One for later to take for work. I ate the hero not that long after I ordered and it was cold. The meat didn't feel warmed up nor the bread toasted. I was very disappointed that I ordered caramelized onions for the hero and mushrooms and did not receive any. And on the brisket , there were only 4 measly mushrooms. I almost didn't notice they were in my sandwich. Really doesn't feel as if the staff paid attention to my order. I was charged for both to have them. There was only one guy infront of me and not many people in the store and I only saw one person pick up an order. There were 3 staff which is 1 more than usual so maybe an off day. My favorite fast food sandwich shop. Normally I eat the Italian but this time I tried the BBQ cuban and I really liked it. The chipotle sauce was good but mellow so I added the Captain Sorensen's Datil pepper hot sauce and it was great as always. The price is reasonable and slightly better than Subway, but Firehouse is way better than Subway. I like the "firehouse" theme in the dining area. The service was super. So I thought I was ordering online through yelp.... And ended up ordering thru grub hub....‍ they add additional money even though they don't do anything SO beware..... The employee at Firehouse apologized and explained what happened.... My sandwich was ready in just a few minutes but you'll receive a email stating 25-40 minutes.... WRONG.... Your order will be up quickly....this is a message you would normally receive if grub hub were delivering.... Our sandwich was good.... But it set too long because we didn't know.... Soggy bread.... As far as submarine sandwiches go this place is right up there at the top. Much better than jimmy john and better than subway. Bathrooms are clean and the service is good. Only drawback at all is the parking lot gets crowded sometimes. read more

A consistently good sandwich shop. No matter what location I am near, I always receive equally great service, great quality food that's fresh, and fast service. Second time getting a blt. Something so easy yet every time it's so messed up that I can't eat it. Why did I go back a second time you ask? Because I believe everyone has a bad day or messes up. They handled it horribly the first time so I never go to try it. So the second time here I am just craving a sub. And thought well we moved so it's a different location. Somehow they messed up worse. my receipt reflect what I wanted. The product I got did not. So still not able to try and now never will. So disappointed in the staff and managements reaction. And the owner of the first one was so rude. The second one wouldn't put us in touch with the owner of that one. Shocker. I like to give everyone a shot. I've done these jobs. Still do. I would never half ass my job the way who ever is reading what I want and then messing it up. I would expect to be fired. We paid $40 for 2 sandwiches that won't be eaten. Looking for a lighter lunch in the high heat of summer we made our way over to Firehouse. We'd never eaten at a FS, so we were curious to see what they were all about. It was great to see that they have gluten-free bread! They do not take precautions for those with allergies though. We asked them to just be careful and use a clean knife to cut it (didn't have any reaction later on). The gluten-free bread is great - nice and soft, and not overly grainy (like Jersey Mike's is). The service could have been a bit better since they weren't all that welcoming, but they were polite and answered our questions. The sandwiches, both hot and cold were tasty, had what appeared to be fresh ingredients, and were filling. Because they have a high counter it wasn't really possible to see how clean their prep area was (especially important when food allergies are a concern). It was a good lunch and we'll give FS a try again when we come across them (none close by to home or work). read more

I stopped by Firehouse on my way home from a weekend getaway in Palm Springs and fell in love with the firehouse decor, Dalmatian-spotted tables, and their delicious sandwiches. I ordered the small Firehouse Meatball Sub on white bread, which was topped with Italian meatballs, melted provolone, zesty marinara, and Italian seasoning. Today was my first time going here, I went to the one in Palm Desert off Monterey Blvd. Anyway, those are some very good sandwiches, I got the corn beef and pastrami with sautéed onions and peppers. There have been a couple times that I have tried calling in to make an order and been on hold for over five minutes and was never gotten back to you. I think it was because they were understaffed? Wow I got a medium size Hero sub lite Mayo on wheat bread a $9+ Sub free and I bought a Coke no sugar with raspberry flavor I never had that either before. Both were great the meats were top quality tasted great and not so thin you could see through and tasteless like Subway's. Everything was great especially the wheat bun too. The staff was friendly and helpful in helping me order and operating the big complicated drink machine. My son called hungry so I asked him if he wanted to try a sub. He liked his so much he wished he had ordered a medium like me he thought it was really great too. We are both from Chicago area and have only been here a year. Worse customer service not trying to relate to a customer....great food and their communication is good but they lack world knowledge

Ordered our subs... asked one of the employees for the restroom key to wash our hands. He was making our sandwich, asked us to hold on for a minute, okay no problem. Has one hand with gloves on holding the bacon and with the other gloved hand grabs the filth ridden pvc pipe with the key, hands the key and takes the bacon hand and put the bacon in the hand he just grabbed the key with. seriously common sense isn't common these days. read more

Although about the same price as subway, beats it by a mile-long. Hint: ask for their specials. Difference between medium and large subs are about $3 but about proportionally longer too so you won't save that much by buying a large. read more
