    Large Hook and Ladder

Firehouse Subs was tucked away in a plaza in the back. This place probably opened recently because I've never heard of this place until recently. The parking lot was full but still some spots here and there. The interior of this place reminded me of those diners that had those checkered tile floors. There were a lot of seating and wasn't busy when I came on a Thursday around 6:15pm. I didn't study the menu before going here but they did have a menu online. I decided to order a large Hook and Ladder ($8.15 total). I ordered it to go so I sat at one of tables. The seat was comfortable so it was a nice little wait. lol My food was ready a few minutes later. The sub was about a foot long and a little soggy because I had to drive back to my apartment which wasn't their fault. Other than that, it was delicious and pretty filling. I would say a large would be enough for two people or just one person with a huge appetite like me. I definitely will go back to try other subs because the all sounded good to me. This would definitely be worth checking out if you want something different.

    Firehouse meatball sandwich.
    Yougonnafeedme ?.

Visited this restaurant on 12-18-2013 for lunch. I ordered the meatball sandwich (large) with the regular meatballs (they offer sweet and spicy as well) with provolone cheese and Italian seasoning. The sandwich was delicious in my opinion. The staff was friendly right when we walked in to the time we left. My co-worker ordered the steak and cheese sandwich and thought it was delicious. I will be returning to this establishment.

Had the club on a sub. Very nicely toasted wheat roll with just the right mix of meat & toppings. Iced tea was perfection! I will return. Great subs.

Let me start off by saying this Amazing and delicious.i walled in and was greated right away love it...the place was clean the people where very nice and i love how you can get 4,8,or 12 inche subs that are packed with meat.this was my first time and it is my favorite place for sub i will not go anywhere else the price is perfect i am now a true fan of this place everyone should try it at least once.

Big group orders aren't a problem for Firehouse. It's awesome they labeled each one so I could hand them out easily at a glance.

I stopped by to check it out, but I'll definitely keep coming back for the UCKC Monte Cristo and…read moreLyssa--I hope I spelled that right! Trying to capture how delicious everything was in one review is tough, but I'll give it my best. First off, customer service was outstanding--Lyssa truly knocked it out of the park. She was so delightful, and I couldn't help but laugh when we both got excited about my sandwich choice. These folks really know their stuff. They treat their animals with care and expertise, and it shows. Having been to many fine dining spots, I can honestly say the quality of meat here at The Upper Cut KC surpasses them all. I'm picky about my food and can tell great quality when I see it & taste it. The Upper Cut KC deserves way more than five stars--seriously, I mean it! I also tasted my daughter's brisket sandwich--absolutely tender beyond words. And don't miss their Mac & Cheese; it's worth a standing ovation! Do yourself a favor: just go and experience it! P.S.--The Butcher Shop inside brings back so many nostalgic memories.

4 star food, 3 star pricing and wait time…read more I'm not one to complian about pricing much but $31 for just this sandwich and small side is discouraging when compared to available options in the city. I thought the brisket sandwich was fairly tasty, but it wasn't huge, the onions weren't carmelized they were grilled, and the brisket wasn't smokey. The Mac and cheese was fine and good but not great. If I lived closer and I could get the above with a soda for $20-23, I would give it 4 stars. There's nothing amazing about it to earn 5 stars even if it were priced like I wish. The place wasn't that busy, but with one register running, 4 people in line, and ringing up 2 butcher orders that came in after I was there, it took me about 12 minutes to place the order and another 20 to have my sandwich and side.
