This location is conveniently right off the highway and next to a gas station so it's easy to get to. I normally just order at the store but I was in a hurry and needed to get home to make sure my dogs weren't completely destroying the house. 35 DAYS to recover $60 for food we NEVER received…read more On September 5, 2026, my friend and I were visiting Kansas City and placed a $60 delivery order directly through the Texas Tom's app. The order was accepted, my credit card was charged, and rewards points were awarded. Although Texas Tom's uses DoorDash for delivery, we ordered directly through the restaurant. We received tracking information showing a driver waiting at the restaurant, followed by a cancellation notification stating there were technical difficulties processing the order with the store. We never received our food. I immediately contacted the restaurant and spoke with management. The manager couldn't locate the order in their system despite my confirmation. He assured me the pending charge wouldn't post and indicated he would follow up. Neither happened. The only immediate solution offered was to come pick up the food ourselves around midnight. We were two women traveling in an unfamiliar city and didn't feel comfortable leaving our hotel at that hour. We had specifically paid for delivery. We went to bed hungry. The $60 charge eventually posted, and Texas Tom's never provided a refund or the promised follow-up. Because the order was placed through Texas Tom's rather than DoorDash, I couldn't simply request a refund through my DoorDash account. I had to dispute the charge through my credit-card company, submit documentation, and spend hours following up. On October 10, 2026, I finally received a permanent $60 credit through my credit-card issuer -- 35 days after placing the order. I understand that technical difficulties happen. What I don't understand is why the responsibility for resolving a canceled order was placed entirely on the customer. I have since filed a formal consumer complaint with the Missouri Attorney General's Office because I believe the business's handling of canceled orders and refunds warrants review. I can't speak to the food because we never received it. But the customer service, communication, and accountability were extremely disappointing. A business's true character is revealed in how it handles problems. Unfortunately, Texas Tom's failed to take responsibility when things went wrong.
