I'm not sure why this Jimmy John's only has a few stars, every time I've been here I've had a wonderful experience. I came today to get a tuna sandwich, but I saw that they have a new Gyro so I decided to change it up a bit. The young lady working the register with tattoos was really pleasant, welcoming, and gave me great recommendations on what to get. The Greek Gyro itself was SO GOOD! I added a little extra tzatziki, but the meat was flavorful and tender, crispy vegetables, and the sauce was delicious. Still no response from my direct email to the franchisee and corporate. I'm not sure what they are doing here but it's unacceptable the way I was treated and I have no response from owner. While waiting for my order, I was leaning against the wall near the kitchen walkway, with part of one foot slightly inside the hallway leading to the prep area. Danielle asked me, in what I felt was an unnecessarily harsh tone, what I was doing. I explained that I was simply waiting for my sandwiches, which were actively being prepared. She then told me, "You have to get out of my kitchen -- you are a health code violation." I immediately moved back and laughed off the situation, as I was barely inside the walkway. However, she repeated herself again in an aggressive manner, despite the fact that I had already moved away. When my order was ready, the bag of sandwiches was thrown at me. This is not an exaggeration. Thrown! I then asked for her name, and she responded sarcastically, "You wish I'd give you my name." At that point, I requested to speak with a manager. Unfortunately, I cannot recall the manager's name, but she handled the situation professionally and respectfully. She listened to my concerns and assured me she would address the matter. However, as the interaction concluded, Danielle told me, "Get out of here, bitch." I strongly encourage management to review the video footage from approximately 1:00 PM today at that location. She was loud and the entire restaurant heard this embarrassing exchange. I have always been a loyal Jimmy John's customer and generally enjoy the brand and service experience. Disappointed I ordered a sub at 12. It is after 1pm, and still not here, I am 3 minutes from the location. I called at the 30 minute mark and was told it was on the way, called again at the hour mark was told it was on the way. In the beginning, God created four elements: air, fire, water, and earth. We are so lucky that God was in control of the foundations of our earth, and NOT the rude staff at this Jimmy John's. I came in to Jimmy John's hoping for some freaky fast, freaky fresh, and freaky RESPECTFUL dining, but was sorely disappointed. I ordered a BLT -- a childhood favorite and a STAPLE for any self-respecting sandwich shop. I may as well have ordered a salad on a bun. The staff was extremely rude in informing me that they were out of turkey and bacon (what other meats DO you have??) and continued to serve me mayo, tomato & lettuce on a bun. Absolutely appalling. I will be praying tonight that God helps whoever submits inventory here see their error of their ways. Worst Jimmy Johns I've ever had. The workers were too busy jacking around with each other to pay attention to their job. The bread was so thin it wouldn't hold my sandwich stuff in it, there was no mayo or avocado to speak of inside it, and they forgot to add the peppers I ordered. Gross, dry sandwich. What a waste of my money. Also, when the workers walk away from the sandwich line how about take the gloves off. They will be on the phone or ringing up an order while wearing gloves and then just go back to making sandwiches with the same gloves on. GROSS!! Freaky fast? Quite the opposite. I placed an order for one sandwich online for delivery at 11:25 today. Forty five minutes later, it still wasn't out for delivery. I called the location 5 times before someone answered. When they did, they checked my address and said it would be out the door shortly. An hour and 15 minutes later it arrived. I was in the hallway of my apartment complex looking for the JJ's driver. She was very sweet and apologetic, but I live less than 5 minutes away from the store. This is unacceptable. She also passed a truck that was in front of her, whom I assume was not driving fast enough for her. I have to say that at least this time it didn't take over an hour to deliver from their location which is literally 3 minutes away. They say they will credit the account but the credit is never there. I do not understand what is so difficult about looking at an order and making it correctly. This is my first negative review, as I usually am very understanding when it comes to the service industry. Never have I felt so strongly about making sure people know what they're dealing with when coming here, ESPECIALLY during lunch I guess. They did not appear to be busy or we would've left immediately, little did we know we would have to wait 40 minutes just to not even get our food, had to argue with a VERY disrespectful and threatening "manager" named Danielle for a refund, and then had to return to my 10 hour shift on an empty stomach! My partner has a blood sugar disorder and was light headed, on the brink of fainting, and rightfully irritable. He frantically told them we had to be back at work very soon, he needed food, & was questioning why it was taking over 30 minutes for 2 sandwiches? He was met with the "manager" Danielle saying he doesn't know who she is and she could be crazy and he has no idea who he's talking to. Threats. The little girl behind the register was smirking like it was funny the whole time. I ordered from this Jimmy John's for about two years when I was managing a business in Liberty. Their delivery speed was excellent, the food was always well made, and the orders were always correct, with only one exception when I had ordered a Diet Coke and they delivered a regular Coke. The drivers were always courteous and polite, and the few times I had to call in to the store (I ordered online), the people on the phone were great as well. I've been in-store a few times since the store I managed closed, and I found the store to be clean, the staff to be very nice, and the service to be excellent. If I have to ding them for anything, it would be that the music in the restaurant is a shade loud for carrying on lunchtime conversations, but that's an opinion call. read more

I am becoming somewhat of a "regular" to this Jimmy Johns... it is located near my new job. I have extremely appreciated knowing that when I need freaky fast service on my lunch~ that tastes delish I can count on their service! I have gluten allergies ~ so I am particularly fond of the fact that they take such care to make sure my unwich never touches the counter~ and they all change their gloves before handling it. One cashier and creator ~ Amanda ~ has provided EXCELLENT customer service each time! She is very diligent in making sure all change their gloves and my food is handled properly! If this posting was just for food I'd give JJ's 5 stars easy, but if you need a review of JJ's sandwiches to decide whether or not to go there at this point you're hopeless. Anyways, I only gave this 3 stars for 2 reasons: 1) This is the slowest JJ's in kansas city. The ones I go to downtown and in the plaza area are always busy, yet get me my sandwhich super quick (one time they had it ready before my CC receipt printed out). However, this location is never as busy as those and yet it takes 3-4 times as long to get my sandwhich. Note - its still faster than any other sandwhich shop. 2) The number 1 thing I love about JJ's is the bread, and I frequently just purchase some of the new bread to take home. This has never been a problem at other locations, however, twice I have had problems buying fresh bread from this location. The first time they gave me a hard time about being low on bread and I had to argue to get them to sell it to me. The second time they flat out refused because they were so low. Both of these times were at like 6pm - they shouldn't be that low on bread at 6pm that they can't sell me any! read more

Staff has always been extremely professional and super friendly (always young adults)-obviously trained well. And the subs, one of the best-love the bread-haven't had a sub we haven't loved. This has got to be worse than any sandwich shop I've ever dealt with in terms of product. I ordered the giant club Lulu.....HA! Nothing even remotely big about this thing. I cannot have lettuce due to an allergy, so without it you have maybe....maybe three thin slices of turkey, a few strips of bacon and tomatoes. You could get more filling 6 inches from cruddy Subways!! Add to the fact when you add a regular amount of avocado spread, it might as well be called " napkin applied" because it literally looks like they applied the spread then wiped it away to save supplies. We have been going to this Jimmy John's since they opened. If I was to review the food, it would get 5 stars however, the service and up charges are ridiculous. On our most recent visit, I ordered the #6 Vegetarian minus the avocado spread, my husband asked the cashier if he could have my avocado spread on his #11 Country Club and the response was "sure, no problem". When we got our sandwiches and receipt, I discovered I was charged $1 for the spread. I went back to the cashier who didn't have a clue how to respond and got her manager. I explained the situation to him and his response was to point to the menu and explain their policy was no substitutions, although they didn't mind charging me for the spread I asked not to get. I asked if there was another manager I could speak to and he said no, I would have to call the corporate office to file a complaint. I tried to explain how crazy this was and all they had to do was take the spread from one sandwich and place it on the other and it would have been a wash and I was again told I would have to call the corporate office.
