OMGosh how have I not eaten here before? I went in, not really one who likes subs, but I was right there coming out of Urgent Care. I got a 4" sub, cookie, and a sweet tea. The tea is great, cookies was DELICOUS, fresh, soft, YUM! I get in the truck and went ahead and ate my sub. First bite my foot started the "Thumper" thump! I sound like I should be on the Biggest Loser right now but OH WELL! I finished my sub and went back in with my "complaint". I told the people working that I had a complaint. Their faces said it all. I said my box was empty and they were very confused. I had to confess I ate it all and was back for another 4" sub. 4" just wasn't enough! Everything there was absolutely wonderful! I ordered a build your own sandwich, turkey, and provolone with all the condiments no mayonnaise no mustard ask for oil and vinegar, salt and pepper. My sandwich was hot which I did not like. I don't like hot sandwiches. My pickle was soggy and warm, which was from the sandwich there was no oil and vinegar and no salt and pepper and there was no cheese very disappointed. This Firehouse Subs restaurant has been our go-to sub sandwich restaurant for years. I particularly love using it with my T-mobile Tuesday coupon. Today however, today when I mentioned this I was instantly met with resistance and unplesant attitude. I was told thst I cannot order in the store as I have done on every other occasion. I was further told that I couldn't remove items that would effect my allergies, again something I have done countless times. I understand this upon being limited, but it seems that the store is being difficult and unpleasant because they don't want to recognize T-Mobile discounts. read more

I love firehouse subs. I've been to this location only once, service was good. Nothing unusual. My problem only lies with the food quality and cleanliness. I got the Beef & Cheddar Brisket. It was thrown together very sloppy and it was "cooked" yet somehow was still cold in the center of the sandwich. Additionally the entire location was gross. Every table was dirty and I had to clean it myself before I sat down and ate with my wife. It was completely disgusting and unsanitary. Almost made me lose my appetite. Like I said, I love firehouse. This location was subpar. I would maybe try it again to see if results are the same, but I would tread lightly and don't hold the same standard here you would with an actually good Firehouse Subs location. read more

I ordered an Italian on white bread today (8/9) with some substitutions. The woman who took my order was kind and read back my order to make sure it was right. The man who made my sandwich was efficient and also very nice. It was clean and even though there were many people, they were getting subs out quickly. This is my favorite place to come for lunch! read more

The parking lot here is less than desirable and probably hurts their business but their subs are amazing which more than makes up for the inconvience. The staff was very friendly and prompt with service. A thing of note was the manager was actually training some of the staff which is something you very rarely ever see. The store was clean and the floors werent sticky something that ive noticed in sub shops. While most people go the sub route for it being healthy I go the subroute for the variety and taste and firehouse menu is above par on both. read more

First time going to this place today and OMG I LOVED IT! Wasn't expecting a sub that size, I could barely finish it (but I eat a lot lol) but it was awesome! Nice toasted subs with a lot of filling. Good size/quality for the $, not super expensive probably only like $2 more then Subway for the same. [2 meals] I highly recommend this place if you want a good filling meal. UPDATE 2/3/14 Went back for lunch and was disappointed. The subs tasted awesome still but the subs were small and not as filling as they used to be. Friendly staff - they brought the food to my table after I ordered at the counter, and they took away the tray after I was finished. The food was good. The meat was tasty and generously portioned. I used a coupon for a free medium sandwich, so it was a great value for the price of the drink and chips! Their featured drink was a Cherry Lime-Aid - very tasty, but a bit sweet for me. I like Firehouse subs over SubWay. I had a steak and cheese. I like the way they heat the meat in a steamer of some kind. The microwave some places use seems to dry things out. My sand. was good. Nothing special here but, a good sand. Staff was friendly and the location has a good parkinglot right across from the mall so no real problem parking. I woud go back again however, I don't really like chain places. I prefer off the beat and path but, in J-Ville you take waht you can get. read more

This place is really good! The inside looks awesome. It's definitely decorated like a firehouse. It's a little different than the usual sandwich place (subways, ect..) You first order your sandwich. And then they make it for you while you wait. You can have that option to toast or not to toast. The prices are decent and they have the coolest drink machine!! I made my husband order a drink just so I could use that drink machine. They have every drink possible basically and you have a choice to add cherry flavor, strawberry, grape, ect! Can I give 6/5 stars?! The Firehouse Subs in Jacksonville, NC is amazing! The staff are very friendly, and clearly have a cohesive, fun environment. I had a cater order which came out exactly how I ordered it. When I realized I forgot to order around someone with an allergy the lady working the register immediately offered to make another sub, even though I was the one that didn't place the order right. She was so friendly I chatted with her a bit and learned she was actually the owner, Sondra. She was super cool, down to earth and very helpful. She keeps a clean store, offers quality food and great customer service! I highly recommend Sondra's restaurant! read more

Disappointing. Ordered a Italian combo sandwich. It was a ham sandwich with a few slices of tasteless salami wrapped around the ham and a bottled Italian dressing poured on. The only discernable flavor besides the sweetness of ham (not welcome on an Italian sandwich) was the dressing, and it was poor quality,commercial grade, mass produced, unhealthy and unwelcome on a sandwich. I should have known better than to order from a chain sub shop. The staff was pleasant and the facility appeared clean from the dining room, but it's not a deli so there isn't much work done by staff preparing sandwiches. Portions are small and honestly quite tasteless. A variety of hot sauces for consumers appeared neglected and unsanitary. I would not return. read more

I love me a good sandwich!!! I just moved here and noticed a lack of quality sandwich shops. I had only been to Firehouse on one other occasion but was impressed. My wife and I went for lunch and I'm happy to say we were very pleased. The restaurant is fairly small and they were pretty busy with a very long lone but the service was excellent the staff was very polite and had our food within 10 minutes. I had the smokehouse beef & cheddar brisket (which I strongly suggest) and my wife had the Italian. We were both very happy with our meals and we have very different tastes so this is saying something. read more

Ate here for the first time on Sunday. We'd never tried Fire House subs before - actually never even heard of them until a few months ago. It was seriously a great experience. We were greeted right away and our cashier was very friendly and helpful. The name on our receipt said Sondra/Sandra..something of that sort, I believe. Our subs came out super quick (Italian and Meatball) and tasted heavenly. The same cashier even went around and checked on us and others dining in. The prices were very reasonable and we can't wait to come back and try another sandwich. You know a place is good when you already can't wait to return! read more
