I finally tried Cook Out yesterday with my son. As soon as you walk in, the digital menu is very visible above the register. That was nice. The seating is sufficient I believe. There was a steady flow of customers throughout our dining experience. The service was pretty good. The young lady taking our order was very nice. We had a short wait for our food. We both ordered a tray. I had the double burger tray with chicken nuggets, fries and tea. The burger was pretty good. The fries were good. I'm not sure how good the nuggets were because I received only three of them. I thought that was a stingy portion. The sweet tea was way too sweet. I did not expect brown sugar water. Crazy sweet. I asked for a cup of water so I could dilute it. My son had the burger tray with a walking taco and quesadilla. He enjoyed all of his. He eats Cook Out at college, so he knew what he liked. Overall I did enjoy my meal. The burger, service and ambiance overshadowed the nuggets and tea. I would probably eat at Cook Out again. read more

Great customer service!! Went in. The drive-through was greeted right away. Placed order for two chili dogs with onions and cheese and a regular fries. Nine dollars for all!!! that's such a great deal my experience was with MICAH at the window he was awesome. very personable. Young man was polite but the speaker made it a little hard to hear and understand him. Drive up was busy. Thank you for giving me plenty of napkins because I pulled over to eat this monster. Sad thing was that the bun was soaked in liquid. I just tore it in half and tore off the bottom. It was a mess but still a good hot-dog! Had to open the door and use my water bottle to wash my hands. I've been to this location 25+ times and I guess it's my fault that I expect my food to be right. It's always messed up they try to rush the order instead of just making it right the first time. And when I ask for the entire order to be remade I get eye-rolls and excuses. Also, they always ask for the food back and double check and make sure that I didn't drive all the way back up there and waste my time just to tell them that their food is wrong. I have never tasted delicious chicken tenders and crunchy and oh my God juicy in the middle and the best hamburger I've ever tasted in my life it is seriously a very good place to get your just a little meal even if you just want a little milk frappe or something ice cream the food is the most delicious smelling and delicious tasting food. I had really seriously ever eaten and I haven't had a hamburger in probably a year but they added sautéed onions and oh my God it was so juicy delicious and I wanted to leave a review. I've only been here twice and both times it's been drive-thru so my review will be based on that. The menu can be confusing as there are multiple choices and options but that is part of its charm. It will take me a few more visits to really know the menu, but if you don't see what you want I always ask for it anyway. Both times I have been pleased with the burgers, fries, onion rings, shakes, and Cheerwine floats. Let me start off by saying i work in fast food service and, i understand where i was in the wrong and why the employees were frustrated. i pulled up assuming my car would fit i in fact DID READ THE SIGN. i just assumed my smaller car would still fit considering it was a smaller car in front of me. i was wrong and quite literally was going to back up. Before i got the chance i had two employees being very rude telling me to back up. it's not what they said it's how they said it. me getting off my shift and also being pregnant i get defensive and very upset so i copped an attitude back. then as i am waiting they were actively cussing and talking shit about how i didnt read the sign. as a manager in fast food service that's VERY unprofessional and i'd fire an employee over that. i understand we get frustrated but go talk ur shit out of customer ear at the end of the day the customers pay ur bills so we treat them with respect. read more

A NC staple! I remember when I first tried Cookout over 20 years ago and was blown away at the deliciousness of their food. Nothing fancy and it's usually greasy and messy, but it's always good :). You can't beat their trays with your choice of a main item (burger, bbq, chicken sandwich), two sides and a drink. Get the cheerwine! It's the perfect balance to all the salty deliciousness ;). If you're really hungry, get a shake! They have 40 flavors and they are really yummy. Banana pudding has always been a fave! My go to orders are a cookout style burger tray with fries and/or onion rings, cheese curds/white cheddar bites, hushpuppies OR a cheddar style tray OR a BBQ sandwich tray. I've been to a few cook outs throughout NC and have never been disappointed. The fast food joint sells your basic burgers, chickens and hot dogs with all the typical unhealthy sides that I enjoy. LOL You have a huge selection of milk shakes to add to your heavy meal. Might as well go for one of those yummy creation shakes to wash down that meal. We generally order drive through so I cant comment on the inside. The food is soooo cheap, omg you can feast with a big meal for under $10. The service is ok. I like to stop once a week and get one kind of shake. But out of about 10 shakes 2 have been right. The good, bad, and ugly. This place serves extremely fresh custom itemized grilled burgers in an exceptionally quick efficient manner. The burgers are always perfectly cooked and the orders are always right. The small downside is if your not a regular and aren't familiar with the menu....it wil catch you off guard as there is only one that can be viewed at its right at the window. So you have to make quick choices from a large number of selections which can be frustrating. I'd recommend snapping a picture if the menu do you don't feel rushed the next time you come. BLT was on a hamburger bun, the onion rings & curds were perfection, just the right amount of crunch (breading). Cannot get anything better for the price! Came here twice during my weeklong trip. The first time was late night and I had a chili burger and small chili fries. I went through the drive through and was impressed with how fast it was. Yes there are 2 windows, but that usually doesn't mean there still isn't a wait. The fries were so good that I returned for the larger size the next time a couple days later. I had the cook out dog(coleslaw, chili, and more) and large chili fries the second time. The food was really good both times, and the people and service were great as well. You know what are you getting here. It's consistent and great fast food. The 5 dollar tray is what everyone gets. For 5 bucks you can get a burger, chicken wrap and a quesadilla and a drink.
