Big Signature Soup - Baked Potato Soup
Nancy B.

This was my first time going to cheddars! It was a very lovely looking restaurant, but with a casual feel Our server was John and he was probably the most polite and attentive server I've ever encountered, especially in Jacksonville! What a nice surprise to have sweet, hot croissants as a complementary "welcome to cheddars" appetizer! We had ordered the chips and queso with a spoonful of ground beef as our appetizer. John had mentioned that the spoonful of ground beef was no extra charge. We all ordered some sort of tea and they were all complementary refills, which was a nice surprise ! Hi, had ordered the baked potato soup because I had enough to eat with the chips and queso. Again, John was just so helpful and attentive that he gave us to go cups for our drinks and a few extra croissants to take home! it was an extremely pleasant visit I will definitely be going back!

Lemon Pepper Chicken Meal

This was my first experience dining at Cheddar's and I have to say it was a home-run! I enjoyed the lemon pepper grilled chicken meal and for dessert the chocolate fudge caramel cake was beyond heavenly! The warm honey butter croissants were magnificent and I could not help but to have several. I should mention it was early afternoon on a weekday so I cannot speak to the service on weekends or evenings, however my server was attentive and ensured that I enjoyed my meal. I love the variety of the menu and this restaurant is a must try, eat and enjoy!

I haven't been to cheddars in a while. My dinner felt cold and the manager Josh took care of it expeditiously. He came back and checked on our satisfaction. I've always loved the croissants, scratch made mashed potatoes, and their drinks. I still do! Thanks again Josh!

Slim chickens receipt

Got the chicken family bundle tender meal for pickup. We got our food before the estimated time which was great and Much cheaper than slim chickens. Big plus

The staff was very warm + friendly, they were also so professional and considerate, they made us feel welcome. The design of the establishment is upscale modern, bright and exciting! The service was quick, we never waited long. The food was wonderful! The croissants they bring out are absolutely a m a z i n g. I had the Monte Cristo and it was heavenly. Will be back!

We've been here twice. Food was absolutely delicious and servers were accommodating. I love their croissants. The place is ok, needs improvement for cleaning.. the table we had were sticky and the floor had some napkin from the previous customers...

I went to Cheddars for the first time as per recommended by my friend. I must say, they left an amazing first impression. When approaching the door, our door was opened by a hostess and greeted by a second. We were promptly taken to our booths and our server was very friendly. The restaurant is decorated very nicely and had a great atmosphere. I love that they offer games and show photos of certain dishes/drinks on a mini tablet for easy access and payment. Once you order drinks they give you a free honey butter croissant and whoever created that is amazing. Of course our food was delicious. My baby back ribs fell off the bones and were extremely tender. I highly recommend their watermelon Vodkarita for fellow fruity alcoholic lovers. We look forward to coming back to try more!

Cheddar's Painkiller

Cheddar's painkiller is a must! It's like a pina colada with coconut flakes on the rim. It is delicious but the only catch is a limit of 2 per person. Why Cheddar's why? Haha Their honey croissants is also a must for appetizers! The service is fast and great. The waiter checked on us multiple times. Food is delicious and the indoor decor is unique and beautiful. Great place for casual dinner! There's a good amount of parking and curbside pickup too!

Maybe a wee bit more ham in the Monte Cristo, please? I couldn't find the turkey...

While visiting town and staying in a nearby hotel, I popped in for lunch and dinner on consecutive days - both times I visited, I was immediately greeted and seated, then offered a steaming hot, sticky croissant roll by the server. Their offerings are pretty basic - classic comfort food standards with a touch of Southern flair - all touted as "scratch made" meals with TGIF-like photography and descriptions on their placemat-style menus; fancy chicken tenders, Country Fried Steak (or Chicken), Chicken Pot Pies, classic appetizers and fresh-off-the-frozen-seafood-truck offerings like salmon, white fish and tilapia. For dinner the first night, I had a couple of boozy cocktails from the bar - including a spectacular Patron Margarita ($10) - before ordering the Coconut Shrimp appetizers ($9), which featured six small, but nicely fried, butterflied shrimp served with their tasty "Painkiller" dipping sauce - a Piña Colada sauce made with "...fruit juice, crushed pineapple, coconut and stuff...", according to my server. For dinner, since I was still in the mood for shrimp, I opted for the New Orleans Pasta ($13), which ended up being an offering of overcooked shrimp, mildly smoked sausage, sautéed peppers & onions served over penne pasta with a disappointing alfredo sauce that was billed as "spicy" but was simply thin, greasy and tasted like it came from a jar. Since the Monte Cristo caught my eye the night before, I tried it for lunch the next day - mainly because I was a huge fan of the tasty and massive deep-fried sandwich feast Bennigan's offered for years; smoked ham and turkey with melty cheese, wrapped, battered and deep fried with fruit preserves and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Unfortunately, this version reminded me of the "Where's The Beef?" commercial - mine arrived with two thin slices of ham (maybe) and such a small portion of turkey I had to hunt to find it. While perfectly fried and served with the best broccoli & cheese casserole I've ever sampled, for $10 the lack of protein was pretty pitiful. All total, the service was spot-on - friendly, polite, engaged, but not hovering - but I could tell in the evening they were understaffed, much like all restaurants I visited in the Jacksonville area. And while the price points seemed spot-on for "scratch-made" fare, they're not really itching to impress diners with small portions and lazily-prepared plates. Maybe again, another day....

Black ball of mold
Miranda F.

I just want to let people know that this restaurants was one of my favorites but not anymore because our chips and queso were not the greatest, the chips were soggy and my baked potato had mold in it and a black ball of something gross. Not coming back for awhile.

Fried Shrimp

I dined alone in the bar area. My server was really nice and I told her that I was eating very healthy. I didn't have any of the croissants so I can't speak about them. I ordered the 8pz salmon cooked as rare as they serve it. I ordered the broccoli and a side house salad with it. The salad came out and it was large and very good. II brought my own dressing so I can't speak on the dressings. When the salmon arrived, I noticed it was a strange looking color. The salmon was extremely disgusting. I would highly not order this! Probably the worst salmon I have ever had. The server asked me how it was and I was truthful with her about it. I ended up eating it because I was hungry and she came over and told me she didn't feel right about charging me full price and she gave me 25% off which I thought was really nice. That was a good move and I did appreciate it. Also, the kiosk which you pay on was so dirty and had so many fingerprints it was disgusting.

Don't go here, food is either over cooked or leftover from day before. Waitress was not pleasant at all.

We were greeted quickly upon arriving into Liliana's Colombian Restaurant and Bakery by an older gentleman, you could tell he has pride in this restaurant the way he spoke and helped with everything. The food, we order tostones for an appetizer. They were crispy, light, and simple. Could've used a bit of salt personally but the garlic sauce they came with really made up for it. So good! The steak had a ton of flavor, and the yellow rice was solid, though my family actually liked the white rice better overall. We ordered a mix of plates with yellow rice and fries, others with white rice and tostones. I went with the arroz con pollo (classic choice), and my youngest had the chicken nuggets and fries. Only downside: my meal came out about 10 minutes after everyone else's, which was a little frustrating but not warrant for complaints. Our waiter was really sweet, a tad slow checking in sometimes, but he was super accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. He even got honey on the side for my kiddos nuggets. Odd request but it's a thing. A big surprise but we got a free choice of a pastry at the end, which was really nice. My kids picked flan and said it was light, firm, but still creamy. Not too mushy. In the end the vibe is very family friendly. They play Latin music in the background, but it's quiet and chill, easy to drown out and still enjoy. I would love to see this place flourish, I know they deserve it, there's a lot of love put into this place. If we're ever in town again, we'll be back.

I drove nearly an hour to get to this restaurant, excited to try the oxtails. Upon arrival, I was told they were no longer being served because they were out. This marks the third time I've driven there specifically for oxtails and was unable to get them due to being out of stock. This wasn't late in the afternoon either--I arrived right at lunch opening. I know what some of you are thinking: why not call ahead? You're absolutely right. That mistake is on me, and I've definitely learned that lesson. On a previous visit, I tried the shrimp and grits, and I'll give credit where it's due--they were actually phenomenal and easily the best thing I've had there. Unfortunately, my other experiences haven't matched that quality. The last time I visited, I settled for the brisket burrito. While sweet and savory can work together, this one was overwhelmingly sweet and just didn't hit the mark. I also asked for a Diet Coke and was told they only had Sprite, regular Coke, and water, which was surprising. My wife ordered the biscuits and gravy, which had almost no flavor. For a southern soul food restaurant, that was pretty disappointing. I don't plan on coming back. I'm not mad--just disappointed. I hope this review helps others avoid making a long drive expecting a specific dish only to find out it's unavailable.

Located in a relatively convenient spot from anywhere in the Jacksonville area, the restaurant has lots of room for customers, and so I've often found a table even in some of the traditionally busier times of day. The food and the service are always reliably great. Omelets, pancakes, French toast, and even hash browns (which, in most other diners, along with their fellow traveler in undesirability, grits, are best avoided), are far better than most other diners. A lot of thought, care, and, presumably, serious on-the-job training must go into the food. The efficiency and dependably rigorous quality are not surprising in a military town. If you're visiting from elsewhere, you will be humbled by the atmosphere, at certain times, when the young service members are having meaningful, hushed meals with their beloveds. Thinking of the hard work, brutal training, and potential life-threatening danger that such absurdly young looking people are enduring will make your worries about mice in the garage, smudged eyeglasses, and forgetting your travel pillow feel awfully insignificant and trivial. Unless you're a fleshly flaneur like me, in which case, a travel pillow and a heating blanket, are still pretty nice. Service is fast and just the right amount of attentive and friendly. On my most recent visit, Elaina was particular kind and efficient.

There was one gentleman in front of me. A staff member briefly stepped away from another customer, asked him his name, told him his order wasn't ready yet, and then went back to helping the previous customer. Another employee appeared to be resolving an issue with a different guest. Once he finished, I politely asked if I could grab my order since I saw it sitting on the shelf and confirmed that I had already paid. He said yes. As I was checking the bag to make sure everything was there, the to-go worker (who I assume handled those orders) spoke to me rudely and asked what I was doing. I explained, and she then shoved my drinks toward me and immediately turned to help the customer behind me, very politely, while I still needed assistance. The server was pleasant, and even acknowledged the lengthy wait assuring us that the manager was aware and that our food would be out in the next 3-4 minutes. 20 minutes later lukewarm pancakes appeared (not warm enough for butter to melt on). The manager never appeared to offer so much as an apology. At the check out we requested to speak to the manager so we could relay our feedback regarding the visit. We were advised that he as simply too busy - and the cashier said she could pass along the message. This was after the other cashier said "oh no - another complaint!". When I asked for the general manager or district manager name and contact number so I could follow up, the employees indicated they were new and didn't know their names - other than possibly a first name of "Ed" as the purported district manager. But they didn't know how to contact him. God forbid there is ever an emergency in this store. It could burn down and no one in senior leadership would even know. Terrible that the local managers don't even have enough interest to talk to patrons. Sad - just a sad excuse for a restaurant. If you have a choice, a gas station would provide a better dining experience.
