Stopped in to try a meatball sub. Large meatball sub with chips and drink came out to $20.36 after tax. It wasn't bad, but wasn't anything spectacular. I probably could have made the same thing at home but it would have been more flavorful. Maybe the other sandwiches are better? I am open to trying this place again for something else. Second, I also saw they had a new chicken Parmesan meatball sandwich on garlic toast, so I also wanted to try that. Third, the sauce bar is now gone! I loved how firehouse had so many sauces out before, but I guess post covid made that go away. Hot sauce for me is a need for these kinds of sandwich, but thankfully firehouse has their own packaged individually which was fine, just unfortunate that the variety isn't there anymore. Service is ok, which is why I'm knocking down a star. I had to ask a lot of questions. First she asked what kind of drink and chips I would like. The way the cashier said it made it seem like it came with it. However when I saw it ring up, it was both an extra charge. I told her I only wanted the sandwiches. When I ordered the second sub, she also asked chips and drink, which I had to ask again if it was included because I told her I only was going to order 2 sandwiches. After, she threw away my receipt without asking me, so I had to ask for it to be reprinted. Lastly, when I asked about the hot sauce she told me "over there." I torn on how to complete this review. The staff is friend and the service is good. BUT if I can't get right was a business this location would be it. First the person taking the orders wasn't paying attention so he charged me for 4 sandwiches instead of 3, ok fine simple mistake manager refunded. But then he gives my order to someone else. The confused look on my face sent a red flag to the other customer where she double checked the order and realized it was not her order. To only make it home and my turkey bacon ranch sandwich is a veggie ranch sandwich. Hints on why I'm not sure how to rate I will give it 2 stars because the staff is friendly.. My husband, sons and I stopped in to order sub sandwiches for dinner one evening. We ordered our favorite subs, ie. Italian meatball, Italian, turkey, etc., The artisan sandwich makers asked if we wanted our bread toasted? Some of us did. They are very good at the Henderson location in Eastgate shopping center. The restaurant is clean and organized. They observe the COVID19 safety and cleanliness guidelines. Social distancing is in place with face masks. It was overall a positive experience. Our sandwiches were delicious. I love the sauce they use, it's a little sweet and addicting. Inside the sub restaurant is memorabilia from fire departments. So yes that was me. Upon entering was greeted with great customer service. There were snafus going on between the employees that night but the acting supervisor quickly got in there and made my sandwiches. Even apologizing for the time it was taking. Opted for the Hook and Ladder, and Chicken BLT with some desserts of course. I got smalls as I didnt know what to expect. They were offering a garlic bread and this had my attention. Both of the sandwiches were made very well. I was impressed with the bread honestly. I had other questions but it didnt seem that night was the right night for any type of inquiries. Interior is several table and chair arrangements. The staff was cleaning up so everything was very clean and tidy. The interior is very neat. With lots of Firehouse Memorabilia that adorned the walls. Would recommend - pricing is high for the portion size but the food was good. The acting supervisor was very nice and hospitable. I really love Firehouse subs! The reason I started going there, was because they had a gluten free bun. Unfortunately, they are having trouble getting the buns, from the distributor now. All of the sandwich places, in my area, are having the same issue. Besides that, Firehouse subs are a great option, in my opinion. They are always very fresh! They also have a public safety foundation, that has donated over $75 million dollars, to equipment, training and supporting hometown heroes! I really love that about them!! read more

The sandwiches are awesome, they're better made, larger and filling portions enough to share a large and fill two people. Totally sh*ts on subway. I seriously went two days back to back. They don't offer curbside pick up, which I don't get why, like even Party City offers it during covid they just leave all the good on a shelf unattended, seems like anyone bound just come in and grab whatever order items. Inside there's plenty of space for a long line, not like there is one lately, but the tables aren't separated, nearly as far apart so although there's signs that mention social distancing it g doesn't really seem enforced at this location. I guess it's not really like that many people seem to be dining in. Little does she know today is a very difficult day for me as I just put my 12yr old pup down. I was hesitant to interact with people, but my emotional hunger was kicking in. Her pleasant greeting when I walked in and her smile calmed my spirit. I'm sure you all want to hear about the store though.. its clean, the staff are friendly, and of course the food is delicious. Upon arrival, told me I could either wait for them to make it again or get a refund TOMORROW 3. Just this weekend alone when I was spending a lot of time in the Sunset Station area, I visited the local Firehouse. This Firehouse is in the far end of the Mark's Street Walmart Supercenter Shopping Center. The upshot is that parking could be an annoyance. The parking lot is busy. On the other hand, inside Firehouse was busy on Friday night where it was dead on Sunday afternoon. Regardless, they make the sandwich from scratch and it takes a few minutes. If your the kind of person that gets fired up about waiting, the neat firehouse theme might put some water on the flame. Firehouse was started by real firemen. And that fact shows in the attention to detail from the wall to the trash can. There is even a donation jar for firemen. Besides, if you order a combo you can snack on the chips, brownie, or cookie. Firehouse features the Coke Freestyle machine. At Firehouse you can get the combo medium or large. Regardless of size, the price is slightly large. For close to $10, they really should serve the large size. With that said, a half star deduction for a price that would be too high with a large upgrade. Similar to the price, the taste and amount is large. I ordered the meat ball sub on Friday and the Engineers Club on Sunday. The meatball sub smoked away the sub I recently chowed down in New York -New York and is a few steps up the ladder above Subway's meatball marinara. The texture, temperature, and quality was just right. Over and above the meatball sub, I appreciated the Engineer's Club. This is a delicious sub with the same wheat or white bread option that Firehouse offers. The Engineer's Club is loaded with turkey, swiss cheese, mushrooms with tomatoes, lettuce, mayonnaise, and other ingredients. When it comes to the sub industry, the fires always been burning. People love subs and the landscape is full of sub shops. Firehouse is one of the better sub chains. The inside is pretty spacious and deco themed like a firehouse. Cute table tops decorated in Dalmatian print. Service wise, order and pay first, cashiers taking your order are cheerful. Another server will come by to serve your food. No long wait in line, food came out promptly. I ordered the Pork Sandwich. It's featured prominently on the menu on the wall. The Kings Hawaiian bread is what attracted me to it. Sandwich reminded me of Kalua pork sandwich, with slaw and mayo dressing. Good amount of meat filled my sandwich. Pork was tender, had a smoky flavor to it. Did not taste any spices though. They must rely on the hot sauces for the added kick because there is huge selection of hot sauces for your sandwiches. The combo comes with chips and a drink. Oh the drink fountain was pretty unique! Lots of soda flavors to choose from. The food here is always good. I try to go to any of the chain restaurants when I'm out because I know the quality to expect. The only issue I had at this location was that after we recieved our food and sat down I wanted to buy another drink. I waited at the desk for about 10 mins waiting for the lady to come back from the back room so I could purchase the drink. I could see her reflection talking to another associate around the corner. The rest of the food makers saw me waiting but wouldn't help me. Hopefully next time the staff will be a little more attentive to the customers in the store.
