It's been awhile since I've been here but it was close to where I was and just wanted to pick up something quick for dinner so I stopped by. There were two men working, they were both nice and since I was the only one there my order was taken and made pretty quickly. While I was waiting, a couple of people came to pick up their orders but other than that it seemed pretty slow for dinner time. My sub was good, not the best in the world but being a chain restaurant it was good, plus I like that they support public safety though their Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation which provides different resources as well as equipment to firefighters. I'd say it's a bit on the expensive side but again I'm happy to pay a little more in order to help support their mission of helping firefighters. read more

For as many years as this location has been around it's always been a solid spot to visit when I'm in the mood for a tasty sub. As with other locations, I love how their bread is always fresh & toasted perfectly. They offer a nice variety of hot & cold subs. I appreciate how the sandwiches are made consistently here. Whether I choose to order in store or through the app, they're usually super quick. Online orders are completed by the given time & made accurately whenever I modify them. Employees here are typically friendly, as well. They do a good job at keeping the store clean but sometimes it can be a little hectic during peak hours. Overall, however, it's usually kept pretty tidy. They've expanded their menu in recent years which can always be hit or miss. In their case, it's definitely a hit. They offer limited-time sub flavors along with their tried & true go-to's. It's good to change things up once in a while but I'll always be loyal to my favorite Hook & Ladder sub. Located on the corner of University and Stirling, this Firehouse Subs is generally pretty consistent. We ordered ahead in the app and it said it would be ready at 6:20. Was ready about 5 minutes earlier so that was nice. It's always kind of empty in there but somehow they have been in this plaza for a long time. It took a while for either of the employees to acknowledge me being there but I guess cause they were both busy making sandwiches. The sandwiches last night were fine but nothing special. Order was accurate and they remembered the pickle which other locations usually forget. The bread was just toasty at the front and back end of the sandwich rather than all throughout. The hot subs at Firehouse are good. When I saw they were for limited time are offering a French Dip sandwich. It was an Excellent sandwich well seasoned & auju dipping sauce, good topping Swiss chesse, onions & mayo. There were no other customers there when I arrived and there were dirty tables and stuff on the floor. I did not leave because I've eaten here for a long time with no issues. I always order through the app so can't talk about the direct customer service but my order is always ready, the staff are attentive when I walk in and need to ask questions or make changes last minute (like switching out my chips). My sandwich's have been a hit or miss so I guess it just depends on who makes it! But I've always been loyal to firehouse. Somehow I had like 11,000 points on their app. Not sure how when I do not eat here very often. I was notified they were increasing the amount of points you need to redeem a free sub. Anyway, that got me to visit them. The cashier, who I believe is the manager is difficult. I ordered a Hook and Ladder. I asked three times to verify they would not put mayo on my sub. He said no. No mayo. Great! I asked for extra pickles. He said we don't have any. But next time you come here we will. When I was leaving I asked if they have any red wine vinegar. He said we only have it mixed with oil and oregano. I said ok. Please put it on the side. I get home and taste what was in the container. Luckily I did before putting it on my sub. It was straight oil!!!!! Nothing else. I threw it away. And guess what? I looked at the sandwich and see a bunch of mayo on it. I took off as much as I could. Anyway, I split the very large sandwich with my Mom. She loved it. I thought it was ok. Not bad. What if I were allergic to mayo? This guy didn't care. Firehouse sub, you guys have one of the best meatball subs in the game the way the cheese melt on meatballs it taste so good and the sauce have a little sweetness to it. You can't beat it for. Sure. Anytime that I have come here I have never had a single problem and honestly that is amazing because I come here quite often! The place is insanely clean and they have minimized tables and space them out so you are always 6 feet away from people. They also told wear masks I'm encouraged touchless transactions as much as possible. Allow their sub or a little on the pricey side you are getting what you pay for it in my opinion because they are so much better than Subway or other sub places chain wise like this. I get the meatball sub and OMG is at Heavenly. It is always toasted to Perfection and the sauce that is absolutely delicious and seasoned exquisitely. Not even one star I would give them after my horrible experience tonight. I placed an order for pick up at 8:15pm. I get to the store at 8:30pm and the doors locked. They were not closed as their hours are until 9pm. There were two employees inside. A young man was sweeping the floor while a female employee was standing behind the counter looking down at her phone. Neither noticed me standing there so I knocked. The female employee then proceeds to walk to the pick up area and yells loudly with an attitude "WHAT'S YOUR NAME?" I give her a look like WTF and point to the door so she can let me in. I was not about to yell back at her from outside the restaurant. She again yells the same thing with more attitude this time. I mouth out my name and she grabs the bag and hands it to me while I'm still standing outside. I asked her to confirm the order was under my name and she just went "mhm" and closed the door on my face and locked it again. This is unbelievable to me as I have never experienced anything like this anywhere. I was picking up my sandwich after the gym so I was starving and was actually planning on eating it at the restaurant instead of waiting until I got home. I will never come back here again. Reading the previous reviews, I wouldn't be surprised if this is the same "manager" everyone complains about. Can't believe an establishment such as Firehouse which works with the firemen of this country would allow such a horrible person with the nastiest attitude to work there. I definitely emailed their customer service and am waiting to hear back. From now on I will drive the extra mile and go to the Plantation location where I've never seen this kind of rude behavior. Oh to makes matters worse, my order was wrong. I asked for no pickle spear which was marked in big letters on the receipt taped to the bag that had my order and yet when I got home, there was a nasty soggy pickle spear right on top of my sandwich. I go to Firehouse Subs every so often. My favorite sub from them as the hook and ladder. This time I ordered it with extra mustard and no mayo. Maybe they heard no mayo or mustard because there was absolutely no mustard on the sandwich. I happened to run out of mustard a week or two ago and still haven't bought it. Otherwise I would have added the mustard. The sandwich was so dry. The meat seems to be pretty high quality for fast food. It is thinly cut and they are generous with the amount they give. I also got a bag of Lay's chips and a brownie. The brownie is pretty good from them. It was fresh. They are open for dine in eating but I brought my sandwich home. It was huge. I will come back here but will pay attention about the mustard next time because it really does make the difference for me. read more

I said that's ridiculous and she said she wouldn't give me free food, so I'd have to pay. I pointed out the app allowed me to order and the error -- ridiculous to begin with for a sub place -- was theirs. She hung up on me. I called back and there was no answer. I was already almost at the store -- yes, this messed up my afternoon -- so I stopped at the store. She said to cancel on the app, the app says it can only be cancelled by the store, which she claimed she could not do. I filed a complaint with the customer service email system and they wrote back that they would forward my concerns to the store! This is insane. So at the end of the day instead of having lunch picked up for my son, I had Firehouse Subs steal $15 from me and make very clear there would be no recourse, I guess other than me disputing the charge with the credit card, which puts the burden on me and on the credit card. First had to verify they were open because the open sign was off. Apparently it was the manager working up front sweeping the floor while talking to someone on her phone through ear Bud. Never acknowledged me once. As I walked out I stated that it would have been nice to be greeted... she instantly became inflamed with her voice and language. This place is a joke, how it's even staying open is beyond me. The staff could care less about working and more about personal things. The lady was on her phone while working the ENTIRE time she was making food. No white bread, no tomatoes, no sauce. I asked for NO LETTUCE. The guy repeated my order and again I said no lettuce. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I ordered through the app for pick up at 11:30, the store was closed upon arrival. I requested a refund from customer service and was told I'd be getting a call from the local store. No one called. I called them myself a few days later. They took down my info and said I'd get a call from the manager. No one called again. Since that time I have made multiple calls to the store and emails to customer service, but I have never received a call back or a refund. There's about three people sitting there with their phones in their hands so of course they're doing deliveries to black girls behind the counter. I just sat there and then I noticed one of them long braids. The braids are everywhere flipping the braids. A chain is a chain is a chain....or is it? With so many great sub places in Davie, Firehouse is not usually at the top of my list. My kids do adore the place, though. The subs are not huge like LaSpadas but the meat is very tasty and the subs are served hot. I enjoy the "Hero" with turkey, ham, and roast beef. Occasionally, I have treated myself the NY steamer with Pastrami and Corned Beef. It is not authentic NY deli but it is tasty. This location's food is pretty consistent with every other Firehouse Subs I have ever been to. So what differentiates this one? The very slow service. Servers are very friendly but they move at a snail's pace. This was not just on one occasion but on several visits. Knowing this, I tried to place a phone order yesterday so the order would be ready for pick up when I got there. I got cut off in the middle of placing my order. I then tried to call back several times but there was no answer. When I got to the store there were only 2 parties ahead of me and my order still took 20 minutes to prepare. 20 minutes for two subs? At a chain? That's crazy! With do many options for great subs in the area including LaSpadas, Mr M's, Sub Center, I will not be coming back here unless the kids insist or the service improves. read more

Horrible customer service. I ordered online through the app with two separate orders. They gave me one of my orders and then refused to make me my second one "because the order didn't go through the system" even though I showed them the email receipt as well as the in app receipt. They refused to make my order or offer me a refund saying it was an online issue and that I needed to figure it out myself. After that, when I asked to talk to the manager, the manager had the audacity to talk back to me, call me racial slurs, and offered no solutions whatsoever. I have never seen this low of customer service in my life. I hope that this manager gets fired as she has absolutely no right managing anything. In case ownership sees this, the manager is the black women with glasses.
