Service was good. We had the buffalo chicken rolls which was good. I thought the chili was delicious--meaty with good flavor.

I don't know what happened to this place. It used to be a great place with great service. It is now the complete opposite. Hostess is openly hostile, tables go uncleared, bathrooms are a mess, food orders are wrong, and the strangest thing is that you can't read the menus. They are so old and worn that you literally can not read half of the items!! It is bizarre. We were a group of four and each and every menu was illegible. How can you operate a restaurant if your customers can't read the menus? Also, refills on soft drinks are not free....$2.50 per soda!!! This place is in desperate need of new management. We recently visited this restaurant for the first (and last) time. Nope, just no. The pizza crust tasted like the pre-made crust in a bag on the shelf at the supermarket and the sausage on the pizza tasted freezer-burned. Service was inadequate. We had to wait almost fifteen minutes to pay. This was a late lunch and the restaurant was half empty. read more

Oh my goodness what incredible food. Another person put on here that the food was not memorable I'm not really sure what he had but the item I had was absolutely incredible one of the best things I've ever ate in my life. I even had to get a spoon to keep tasting the sauce. One of the servers Olivia D recommended that I get the shrimp stir fry. She was not even my server but wow what a meal I had.. you know it's a great restaurant when they can make shrimp good without even worrying about cocktail sauce. The atmosphere is very inviting and open there's plenty of room to walk around even with people in it. Great outdoor patio area. They even have intimate rooms for like a date night. I just wish there was a game going on so that I can stay here longer to watch the game. So whenever I'm in the Cincinnati area I'll definitely we'll come to this unique spots. Firehouse Grill is one of those places people settle on when no one in your party can decide where to eat. It's a huge barn of a place, and even when they have a good number of people inside, it still feels empty most of the time. There seem to be an ample number of wait staff ambling about. Despite this, it still took us a few minutes just to get someone to acknowledge that we'd been standing at the hostess station waiting to be seated. A woman finally stopped by and asked, "how many," as though we weren't the only two standing there. She wasn't pleasant...nor was she unpleasant...she simply went through the motions, fulfilling her basic obligations. The fact that she escorted us to a table where a gnat circled our heads well before food was served did not bode well. The menu is uninspired and outrageously expensive. For example, you can get really good street tacos for under $4 a piece at trendy joints like Bakersfield OTR or Mazunte...Or you can decide you're not good enough for those places and instead pay $4.66 per taco at Firehouse Grill (their "street tacos" trio is $13.99). The tacos weren't completely unfortunate, but they were by no means on par with any other street taco I've ever eaten. They came accompanied by a side of viscous, flavorless, electric-yellow mango salsa, which had the consistency of baby food. My second side of regular salsa looked dated and tasted metallic, like it came out of a can or jar. The fishy-smelling fish taco consisted of one whole blackened filet stuffed into a small corn tortilla, making it a challenge to eat. My girlfriend's chicken pesto sandwich was essentially one whole, unseasoned chicken breast slapped between two pieces of ciabatta bread with a squirt of pesto sauce and Swiss cheese. It was as bland as it was overwhelming. These kind of restaurants, where no one really cares what they're doing, where they're just going through the motions of a restaurant without taking the effort necessary to be a really good one, annoy the hell out of me. You may not experience the worst meal of your life at Firehouse Grill, but I guarantee it won't be the best one, either. read more

We had a work event here, and it seemed to go very well. The appetizers were brought to our party room (there are several such rooms), and they exceeded my expectations. Especially enjoyed the fried pickles. My only comment concerning event management was that the staff moved our party to a different (larger) room without having told us beforehand. That would have been no problem, but we had printed flyers for our out-of-town guests, leading to a bunch of our guests hanging out alone in a deserted room before we found them there. Grilled cheese literally inedible for girlfriend. Came out cold. Wanted to give the place a try despite reviews...hate to say we won't be back, as the atmosphere is great. But heed other reviewers advice: they don't take the kitchen seriously. Even bartender admitted food comes out cold constantly. 2 stars for really nice bar. Great beers. Just okay. Went here for lunch with coworkers on a Monday. Service was a bit slow I felt. I got a veggie burger and it was honestly a bit mushy and bland. I asked for the burger that was supposed to be spicy with chipotle mayo but it did not have that. Not sure if I'd recommend. read more

So easy to put the ingredients that should be sizzling in the oven then add the cold stuff. When I order nachos I want the cheese to be sizzling when it gets to my table. Yikes this is a cold mess. My experience could not have been worse. I was catering a doctor's office and ordered my food (over $100) to be picked up at 11:30am. I arrived, paid and waited and waited. I kept asking where my food was and was told they were packing it up. No one apologized and the manager, Chris did not want to deal with me when I asked for him. I FINALLY got my food at noon and raced to the office, 30 minutes late. to my surprise, the order was completely wrong!! It was someone elses order. I packed it all up and drove back to restaurant. The hostess LAUGHED and said "Ha, I knew we gave you the wrong order". I was fuming. Got my food again and back to doctor's office, after 1pm and doctor was gone, a total waste of a lunch. Chris the manager wanted to give me $100 gift card. I said I wanted a refund since the order was well over $100...and left my business card...Still Waiting. I will never return. And I cater 3 days a week at offices for work. Their utter lack of concern for a major screw up was really disgusting. read more

Then we waited another hour to order our food and one of our orders came out a whole hour after everyone else had finished their meals. No one said sorry. I've eaten here several different times, mainly because you could dine on the patio with your dog. That policy has now changed and Firehouse Grill is no longer dog friendly, so I won't be returning. I can put up with mediocre food and service for the opportunity to eat out with my dog, but not otherwise. The service is hit or miss whether dining inside or out and the food is marginal bar food. It's a shame about the change in the dog policy, because that was the biggest draw for this place for me. Overpriced food that is marginal, at best, is not worth a future visit if I can't eat on their spacious patio with my well-behaved and quiet dog. read more

Held an event with them in January for a party of 40 on a Sunday night. The evening started off on the wrong foot with a sour smelling room. The management quickly moved us to another party room which was awesome, but it wasn't as cozy or as nicely prepared as the other room (the issue in the room should have been seen by management, it was a leak in the roof that had grown mold and smelled horrible). When we got to the next room we were happily say and enjoyed the night. however there was only one server for 40 of us ordering off a limited menu. It took a long time to get drink refills, and alcohol, which limited the restaurant ability to make money off us (we have people in the party that would have drank 3X as many as they did if given the opportunity). The food came out in a reasonable time, and it was hot and consistent. I would come back again with a group of 4, but i do not think I would book this place again for a large event. read more

We always have great service and a great experience when going to dinner at Firehouse. The food is always fast and delicious. Today we got a carry out order, and from them taking the order over the phone, to my wife picking it up, was a great experience. The staff are friendly and polite and labeled all of our to go boxes. My wife had ordered an extra side of ranch and the host made sure it was in there for her. Highly recommend Firehouse! read more

While the food and staff were good, the restaurant is desperate need of repairs. Multiple areas of water damage and (what looked like) mold on the ceiling. Water was dripping right next to our table, and it was not raining. One foot more to the left, and it would have been in my food! read more

My wife and I were driving through Blue Ash and found The Firehouse Grill and decided to give it a shot! The inside was HUGE!!! Plenty of room for large parties. Good size outdoor eating area, but was closed due to preparations for the Blue Ash Fireworks which are right across the street. Our waiter was awesome going over each part of the menu and recommending things that he has tried and liked. I ordered The Chief Steakhouse burger, cooked to my asking of medium. Order came out quick and hot. Sandwich was awesome and my wife said her wrap was very good as well. We will come back!! read more

The Firehouse Grill is a new independently owned neighborhood restaurant that has now been open for about three months. I went there with a large group (40+), so I don't think it is fair to review the service at this time. I got the Blackened Chicken Cesar Salad, and enjoyed it very much. I liked the way they serve the salad with the chicken off to the side instead of on top of the greens. This keeps the chicken hot and the salad cold until I'm ready to introduce them to each other. We ordered the 4-alarm wings for the table. I like my wings extremely hot, so to me, they weren't that over the top hot (My table mates disagreed). They were very moist and wet with just enough sauce. The prize however, goes to the outdoor patio. Back in the day when it was the old Watson's Brewery, the patio was always hopping with live music and cocktails. I hope this tradition will stand. The venue and the concept they are trying to build deserves four stars in my book. I will definitely be returning, whether for one of their pizzas and beer out on the patio or to try their Sunday Brunch. read more

Went here for dinner on a Friday with a party of 7. Had Phil as our waiter in a booth section and he could have seemed a little more chipper to be there. Not sure if he was pissed he had a table of 6 adults and one child and not 8 adults (hence bigger bill) but he seemed liked he was more than excited to help us out. We ordered our drinks then our food. My stepdad ordered the special soup for the evening and it came out and it wasn't very warm and my stepdad who never complains asked if Phil could "zap" it. Yes he asked him to microwave it( he is old school) but as a restaurant worker, server whatever, you NEVER MICROWAVE ANYTHING. Phil brought back the soup which he had microwaved (we know this because the crackers that were already put in the soup, were still on the soup) I couldn't believe that this server thought this was acceptable. He then came back to ask if he "took care of the soup great for ya" like yeah good job Phil for selecting 60 seconds rather than 30 seconds to rehear the soup. All of our food came out ok, minus the fact none of our food seemed hot, like it had been sitting up on a non heated shelf for a while. Even our 6 year old complained his pizza was cold, and he loves pizza! However Phil's mood changed towards the end of the meal once the bill came once he saw how much it was and how his tip may turn out in his favor. He immediately turned into the sweetest nicest guy ever! I don't plan on bringing a large group here again, I was having a meal to introduce my parents to my bf's parents and this was just an embarrassing place to come to. I hope management can step up on training their serve staff. read more

This location seems to be a challenge for every restaurant that has come and gone. The building is enormous. The owners of the Firehouse Grill have made nice use of the space, we are looking forward to having a happy hour on the patio once the rain clears up. A couple of us from work ate there for lunch yesterday and were pretty pleased. The service was very good. Even though we were there right in the middle of the lunch rush, there was no wait for the seating, we were greeted promptly by our server, and received our food in short order. The food was good, but nothing to right home about. I got a crunch burger, or something like that. It had smoked gouda, which was a nice change. The burger patty itself was pretty dull, but was cooked to temp. It's tough to compete with Sammy's burgers right around the corner. Overall it was a good experience, and a great atmosphere. We'll definitely be back and will look forward to trying other menu items. read more

I came here two days in a row while on a business trip. It's a big, spacious place to watch a game. The food is about average for a sports bar. Street tacos: I tried the tilapia (okay) and short rib (very good) tacos. I didn't get a chance to try the pork. Firehouse chili: Very good chili with good heat (I recommend adding the fresh jalapenos). Poutine: I wouldn't recommend it. The short rib is good but the demi glaze isn't as good as a real poutine gravy. Buffalo Chicken Rolls: These are pretty good. Though by the time we ordered them we were a few beers into watching conference tournament basketball. Chicken wings: Pretty good. The buffalo sauce was pretty good. Beer cheese nachos: This was okay but I thought the chicken could have had more flavor. Firehouse pasta: Potentially could be better. The cream sauce was a bit watery and the noodles are overcooked. I'd stick with making a meal out of the other items. read more

This place is sort of too sleek for its own good. It really looks like a chain, with the big glossy menus, the food items to choose from, and the demeanor of the staff. But it's not! Which is its blessing and its curse I guess. If you are going to be a "local" business, why come off feeling super corporate? The place is huge -- the former Watson Brothers -- and it is never a problem to get seated, even during the lunch rush. And in the temperate months, they have a decent amount of relatively pleasant outside seating. The food is fine (pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, salads, etc.) but again, you feel as though you are dining at a chain. I typically stick to the sandwich/soup/salad combos, but the pizzas do look tasty and more than enough for one person. They do also have a decent selection of local beers and wines/cocktails. As for the prices, you can find better around the Blue Ash area, both for food and for drinks. Still, I always find myself back here at least once a trip, because it's an easy destination for a business lunch or happy hour. read more

After a hard day's traveling through airports, a coworker and I went to the Firehouse Grill because it was recommended to us by someone familiar with the area. I have to say, it was fairly disappointing. I ordered the meatloaf, which our waiter informed me was a "house specialty". My coworker ordered a NY strip, which came with asparagus and mashed potatoes. When my meatloaf arrived, it was served on buttered toast, covered in the garlic mashed potatoes and marinara sauce (!). This presentation was unappetizing to look at, but it tasted OK. Not exceptional, mind you... but OK. When my coworker's steak arrived, it was cold. I don't mean tepid, lukewarm, been-sitting-up-for-a-while, I mean COLD. The mashed potatoes and asparagus were likewise room temperature at best. When she sent it back to be warmed, the waiter took it to the kitchen, returned five minutes later with the plate still cold. We asked to speak to the manager, who gave us the "deer in the headlights" look and kept asking "What should I do?" Uh, call me crazy, but actually warming the food on the plate might be a good start, buddy! After he left to attend to this, the food finally arrived warm(ish), but by that point we were both disgusted. This is a kitchen faux-pas, not the server's fault, but both the server and the manager made it clear by their expressions and lack of performance that they weren't surprised and didn't care. While the quality of the food was acceptable enough to rate the extra star, I would give this place a miss. read more

Real nice and huge bar. The food was decent, but nothing Special. Started off with nachos with pulled pork, beer cheese, jalapeno peppers lettuce tomato onion and sour cream. It was good, but the pulled pork lacked spice/BBQ to make it pop. For my entree I had a blackened filet mignon salad with vinaigrette. Once again good, not great... And the portion was a bit light for a salad ment did your dinner. I get bit giving a lot of filet mignon, but I'm talking not even getting much salad. Lettuce tomato onions that s*** is cheap as f*** and more of it should have been provided. So my overall review is cool place, great atmosphere, food was ok not great. I had heard about this joint for a while because they always did the "Bengals Pep Rally" here. But, had never been. Well...I stopped. And, now, I'll be back. The atmosphere is what I would call, "Uppity Sports Bar" It looks very fancy. The tables are tall and big. The building is enormous. It's just very ritzy for a sports bar...but that's exactly what it is. I just had a normal burger and fries..and HOLY CRAP! It was tasty. The burger tasted almost exactly like one from Ruby Tuesdays, but the bun that it was on was amazing! The fries...also great. My wife had a buffalo chicken egg roll and she like it something fierce. The server we had, Brandy, was amazing. Very attentive, helpful and nice. All in all, it was just a great dining experience. read more

This review is based on my experience today. Also, take into account it just opened last week. This place is about 1 min from my work in Blue Ash. Wanted to give it a try because it seems pretty busy when I drive by. I am not sure I will be going back though. Ill break it down below. Service: It's hard to judge on service when you have 3 different people waiting on you. We sat at the bar to eat. I had one lady get my drink which took forever to get (she comped it for me). Another waiter take our order. There was no consistency in the service. We really did not get checked in on either, had to flag them down. Food: This will be my biggest complaint. My friend and I bother ordered pizza, simple right? I ordered mine with extra cheese. He ordered his with olives, pepperoni and cheese. See the common thing here? It's cheese. It goes on a pizza. Well, when I got my order, there was barely enough cheese to cover the pizza, let alone extra cheese. My friend got his with black olives, he ordered green. They took his order back. I was close to being done with my pizza before he got his second pizza. During the time we were waiting. another waitress came back and asked if he wanted cheese on it. This goes back to my common topic of cheese being on a pizza. When his final order came back. All they had done was scrap off the black, put green on. The had decided to leave the cheese off. There was literally 4 specs of cheese on his pizza. The manager did comp his meal which I would have expected after the mess up. The meal took about 30 mins to get to us, which is not bad for the rush they were having. I can't recommend this place due to the lack of attention paid to food, simple food at that. The service also needs to be stepped up to focus on the customers. I will try the place again, but it will be a couple months, so hopefully they can get it all straightened out. read more

I'm pretty disappointed with my experience at Firehouse. I needed a bite to eat for dinner on a recent business trip. This place came recommended by the hotel I stayed at. The service and beer selections were both very good. However, I ended up getting sick after my meal which was a real downer. Another thing that peeved me was that my meal was brought out to a guy sitting down the bar from me. When they realize the mistake a few minutes later, they just moved the plate over in front of me since the guy had not yet eaten it. Typically, I would expect an option to have a new order brought to me instead of the one already made. I was dying of hunger so I just went for it but continued to question how heavily the guy may have breathed over my food. With so many OTHER food options in the area, I would expect there to be some extra effort put into their operations. read more

Was looking for a decent happy hour, well this is right near work so I decided to try it after reading the website. Anyway service was good, but lack of a decent happy hour menu. Only 2 food items included? What is with that? Great beer selection but a little higher priced for the type of venue. The chili was ok, if you like spicy make sure to add the jalapeños because it is not at all. The Thai wings were kind of bland, not crunchy and overly sweet. (What can I say, I am kind of a wing snob). Having been in the industry for over 20 years and traveled all of the country, the value to what you get is not the greatest. They need to lower the price a bit, and offer a better happy hour menu especially for food. read more
