Great pizza. Ordered the 8" vegan margarita with Daiya. Couldn't leave the thing alone.. It's not as expensive as people are yelping for one or two people as it would be a large family, obv. Go ahead, treat yourself. You deserve it. read more

Pizza and a free sauna. After a 7 hour train ride, an awful lunch in Silverton, and the need to use a bathroom really bad, Fired Up was a delicious medley of the right amount of cheese and the right amount of great staff. My only complaint was essential to the blistered flavorful crust; it was crazy hot but it was due to the authentic wood burning stove that cooked your made to order pizza licketty split. I ordered a pizza with shrooms, artichokes, olives, and prosciutto, and I regret that I didn't order more. Find a spot right next to the counter where the air blows on you the most and FYI, they sell a Colorado-made ginger soda, Zuberfizz, and they ain't jokin around, only get it if you're a die hard true ginger fan. This is no Canada dry folks. read more

This was pretty good. I had the pesto pizza with pepperoni. The ONE negative I had with it was that then whole bottom of the pizza was drenched in oil, likely from the pesto. It was a bit much, which was sad, because the pizza was very tasty otherwise. I'm giving it a four, instead of a three, because the others I was with didn't have greasy pizzas, and they enjoyed theirs. read more

Excellent service and the food was fantastic. I got a specialty pizza, my son got a kids cheese pizza with pepperoni, and my husband got the Superior pizza and he loved it. We also shared the spinach and artichoke dip. The dip had goat cheese in it, which I'm not a huge fan of but the toasted bread made up for it. We had to wait about 30 minutes at 8:00 at night. The place was very busy and I now know why. I highly recommend this place. read more

Great little pizza dive in Durango and they have amazing salads! We look forward to returning when we visit Durango again!

The only complaint I have in regards to this place is I don't eat here enough and that there is some question of whether their gluten free crusts ever touch gluten. There is so much flour everywhere in the kitchen, and sitting in stored bags in the main eating area at times, that it is rather impossible to escape flour in this joint. That said, I am not a celiac sufferer, so I eat their pie with gusto. Mucho gusto! Great toppings and regular crust. read more

I love the town of Durango, reminds me of Austin but cooler weather. This place is legit. You can watch them toss the dough and slide into fire oven. Pizzas come out thin and crispy with lil burnt edges. So feeling good! read more

The pizza here was soooooo good! The Bacon Bleu Cheese was delicious! We also ordered the Meat Works which was really good too. They had a few Ska Brewing beers on tap which was a nice bonus (we went there the day before and really liked their beers). The wait wasn't terrible for a Friday night, about 35 minutes. We topped off our meal with cannolis. Great pizza, would come back next time I'm in town! read more

Love love love this place. During our 3 day stay in Durango we ended up eating here twice, it was that good. We had the pepperoni pizza and two salads and they were all really good, especially the pizza!! Our first waiter Max was amazing! He was friendly and helpful with information about Durango and beyond. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. read more

Food is delicious, if a little pricey. That much hasn't changed since my last review. However... Service is HORRIBLE. As a fellow server, I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Super friendly but slow and/or inattentive? I'll tip well. A bit moody but efficient and present? I'll still tip 20% or more. But when my last three visits to this restaurant have yielded nothing but inattentive, rude, and painfully slow service...as well as unnecessarily large tabs...well, let's just say Fired Up certainly lives up to Durango's reputation for piss-poor service. It's a pity. But I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. read more

Solid pizza and apps, if a bit on the high side of the price spectrum, particularly considering the size of the pies. Start with the jalapeno and mozzarella dip, which incorporates goat cheese and is delicious. Fired Up takes a tasteful route with this dish by serving it with sliced baguette bread rather than chips, and this adds to the delectableness. As for the pizza, I'd say that one will enjoy their pizza here, but not be blown away. The crispy thin crust that results from the wood-fired oven is tasty, but something in the sauce and ingredients lacked the oomph I wanted. Still, I gobbled down the pizza and it was enjoyable, if leaving me a bit hungry. Overall, good not great and a bit pricey (although it seems that's the case everywhere in Durango). read more

Wow can't remember the last time I had pizza this delicious. Everything is fresh and the restaurant is quaint and clean. Being from Austin, my beau and i have our standards about good pizza. We split the Durango style pizza adding sausage and pepperoni. It was amazing. You don't leave feeling overly full or with an upset stomach from grease/too much cheese. Pizza perfection at its finest. We came back AGAIN the next day and ordered a different pizza-honestly it doesn't matter which pizza you order from here. It's beyond delicious. Everyone that works here is generous and friendly. Also the owners-Tad and his wife- are awesome. read more

Damn. This place came highly recommended by friends, but I was pretty disappointed. To try and be fair it was super busy when we first got in, but it calmed down by mid meal sooo no excuses. First the food was ugly and not tasty. I love most foods, but the crust was burnt along with the ap, the chicken on the pizza was sooo bland :[ the appetizer looked like a child cut and then burnt bread and slopped some kind of mush into a bowl and dumped it on tray that was too big for it. the server apologized because they "have a new person they're training" The servers were nice, but they were really slow even after it got less busy. Overall meh experience. Maybe I just went on the wrong night read more

So delicious and fresh menu options! Tables weren't as clean as I would have liked. A little sticky. Service was good and food was good. Glad to see restaurants open for business and we were happy to support local. read more

We stopped by on a Saturday night. The wait was about 45minutes. After being told there was a 30-45 minute 30 minutes later. We started to look for another pizza place when they called our table was ready. Glad we stayed. The grand salad was delicious. The chicken pesto pizza was excellent. Definitely worth the wait. All the staff worked hard and never stopped moving. One of the best run restaurants we have been in. read more

Visited a week ago. Very busy but we're seated quickly. Table in the center isle was not ideal but was ok. Good selection of beers and a wine or two. Pizza was delicious but not the best I've ever had. Very trendy in downtown Durango. Try it! read more

Absolutely the best meal I've had since I arrived in Durango, and as good as any pizza I've had anywhere - better than 90% ! We felt when we walked in the door that we might be on to something special. We could smell the pizza, and we saw the small, wood-fired oven. We were stoked, even though we'd had previous dining experiences in the area that weren't so hot. We were greeted immediately, seated immediately, and attended to immediately. The service started out great, and got better. Our waitress was very professional, (training a new recruit), and really on top of her game. She made us feel comfortable, appreciated, and important as customers. All that was before we sampled the food. They only serve two sizes of pizza, 8" and 12", both seem kind of small to my appetite, so my wife and I decided to have a 12" with a large, Caesar salad to see if that satisfied our hunger. There was really nothing quite for us on the specialty pizzas, but the waitress informed us that it was 1/2 price topping day, so we built a three-topping pizza on the Margherite base. They have three bases, the Margherite (tomato sauce), and two other that were not tomato-sauce based. Maybe we're old-fashioned, but we still like pizza with tomato sauce, and don't even consider anything else to be quite pizza. We were very pleased with our Caesar salad - no anchovies, , very fresh, and very tasty. The parmesan cheese they shred on top of it actually had flavor to it, unlike a similar one we had some place else a few days back. We liked it, and felt it was a decent value. The pizza was OUTSTANDING. We had mushroom, kalamata olives, and garlic cloves, and, even though there could have been more garlic on it, this just became one of my favorite pizzas. The ingredients were fresh, and tasty. The sauce was excellent, and the crust was perfect -to die for. It was cooked to perfection, and only made me wish it were larger. This is one pizza that is very difficult to eat slowly. You will want to attack it like a starving dog. When the waitress asked us if we wanted dessert, I told her, "If I were going to have dessert, it would be another one of those pizzas." Granted, it costs more than a chain pizza, or a delivery pizza, but I would rather pay more and eat one of these, than pay less, and eat five of anything else. THIS PIZZA IS DAMN GOOD ! I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Durango, or just driving through. The service was outstanding, timely, and courteous. The food was PERFECT. Yeah, you can go cheaper somewhere else, but you'll be sorry. The few extra cents you spend will be worth it to your taste buds, and your stomach. read more

Ordered stuffed mushrooms and they were DELICIOUS. Six to an order. Had to share plate with my wife as my plate had food stuck on it. Realized a bit later that hers had chewing gum on the bottom of it. Not sure how that got through the dishwasher and out to our table. Meatball sandwich was savor and mmmmm good. Skip the chips and get the coke slaw, a treat. Pepperoni pizza and meat lover? Pizza were a hit. One per person. 4.6 stars. read more

This review is a while in the making but the memory has not faded a bit. I have been to all 50 states and over 23 countries, and have had pizza in nearly every location I've traveled. In all honesty, this is the very best pizza I've ever eaten, and my wife says ditto for her. From the very first bite to the very last bite, and yes we ate every bit of two pies, our taste buds were in sensory heaven! The crust is to die for, and the sauce and toppings are perfectly portioned so one savors everything exactly right together. After just a few bites we asked to speak to the owner and master chef, who graciously came to our table and spent 10 minutes with us answering our questions. He trained in Italy; does everything by hand each day; uses only the finest ingredients (many imported); and has had to train his staff to not pile on sauce, toppings or anything that will overpower something else on the pie - in other words, every bite is the perfect blend of wood-fired crust, sauce, cheese and toppings. When we said we were from the DC area, he immediately knew our best touted pizza (Two Amys), but his pizza blows them away. I begged him to consider opening an east coast store in our area, but alas, we will have to await a return to Durango. read more

The pizza at "Fired Up" was very delicious. If you like Italian style pizza, this is a good place to go. I recommend the Margherita pizza and the Wifey pizza. But I'm sure that the other pizzas probably taste just as good. I would give it 5 stars, but the pizzas were a bit small. You might want to order 3 pizzas for a party of 4. In conclusion, the food was tasty, there was great service, and I'd definitely come here again. read more

If you walk into this kinda hip, kinda cool pizza place expecting your traditional Americanized pizza, you're in for a surprise! The pizza here is super thin and mostly devoid of the smothering sauce found on inferior pizzas and it's baked in a true, wood-fired oven. You can even watch! The list of ingredients will be unfamiliar to novices but be adventurous when you build-your-own. If this seems daunting, you can try some of the house specialty pizzas to get a feel for how that unusual ingredient list comes together in really awesome flavors! I had the Smokey with smoked mozzarella, fennel sausage, and onions. WOW! Don't ask for pan crust, they won't do it. The point of the thin, crispy crust is for you to taste the goods; not hide them in dough! If pizza isn't your thing, they also make a number if really great salads and artisan sandwiches. Again, expect creative combinations of flavors from ingredients not normally found on a menu. BTW, the kalamata olives are a taste sensation! The appetizers will be familiar if you've spent time in traditional Italian restaurants. Try the Roasted Stuffed Mushrooms; they're really yummy! Lastly, there's a small bar if you'd rather have a libation with friends but the focus here is the pizza! Enjoy! read more

My family of 13 had recently ordered about 7 pizzas from this place, we expected greatness from this place. We were disappointed. It's a cute restaurant with decent service, but the pizza was just "ok" at best. They definitely use good ingredients and it's not bad pizza by any means, but it was so bland! My fiance and I split a pizza. I was still hungry (they just have the 12") but I didn't think it was good enough pizza to spend the money on another one. I always want more pizza so this says something. If I am paying a premium for pizza, I want it to be " I can't stop stuffing my face" good, so I won't be back. read more

When my wife and I lived in Italy, wood-fired pizza ovens and fresh ingredients were the norm. Coming back to the U.S. and the Pizza Huts, Dominoes, etc., was so disappointing. Fired Up Pizzeria - All meat deliciousness, with pineapple and extra mozzarella. - Pizza Near Me - Durango, Colorado

We went to Fired Up last night for dinner and were quickly seated. We only got pizza, so my review does not account for other food items. They have a slew of specialty pizza that apparently only come in the 12" variety, even though the gluten free options make it seem like 8" or 12" pizzas are available for the specialty pizzas. I ended up with an 8" build your own pizza with pepperoni and bacon. I wish I'd gotten a 12", as the 8" left me hungry. That's frustrating since my pizza cost roughly $14. If I'm going to spend that kind of money on pizza I shouldn't end up hungry. My wife and Mom got a 12" meatball (specialty) pizza and they enjoyed it thoroughly. Pizza was excellent, but portions were small for the price. read more
