Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. They had a DJ playing some Spanish jams. The music was loud but I was still able to hold a conversation with my friend. The fries were good, the serving size was great for 2 people to share. The chips and salsa were also good. And the cucumber Margarita was delicious. My friends and I came here on Friday night to celebrate our birthdays, and honestly, it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. When we arrived, security checked our IDs and told us the wait for our table would be about 15 minutes, which was fine. He said we could grab a drink at the bar while we waited. But the place was tiny and completely overcrowded, with almost no room to stand. We still ordered drinks and tried to make the best of it. Then, one of the servers (dressed as Catwoman for Halloween) rudely told me to "get out of her way" because she couldn't get through. There was barely any space to move, and instead of politely asking, she had an attitude like we were in her way on purpose. It felt really unprofessional and disrespectful. After waiting way past an HOUR, we noticed another party that arrived way after us get seated before us with menus and chips already on the table. When we asked about our table it was just an inconvenience to them. The staff seemed irritated anytime we tried to ask a simple question. Eventually, we asked for the manager, and the person who came over (dressed as a "king") and told him how unfair the treatment and service we were getting. At that point, we decided to just leave and take our celebration elsewhere. Overall, disorganized, and the staff were extremely rude and unprofessional. Its a small space with a fair sizes patio. I needed a restroom and don't have to be told to make a purchase or at least be gracious and extra tidy about it. A margarita it was! Came to eat after going thru the mission inn Festival of Lights. The wait wasn't so bad but you can see that the spot was busy. The isn't much indoor seating so most of it is outdoor patio seating. Recommend bringing a jacket since the heat lamp wasn't working where we were sitting since they did not have any gas tanks. The music can be a little loud but the server was nice enough to turn it down so that the tables near the speaker isn't Yelling at eat other. Service was quick even though it took a while for us to be checked on after seating us. Our server was very nice to acknowledge that they are super busy and that their service is a bit more slow, so he gave us an extra shot of liquor with each of our drink orders. The food coming out of the kitchen was pretty slow and it took a while for the server to bring us chips and salsa. Once the chips came then everything else followed within 10-15 min. Now for the ingestible items.... - drinks: plenty strong as is without the extra shot and it was not super sweet. Good job bartender. - chips and salsa: chips were hot and seasoned. The salsa was a perfect level of spice and flavor. I normally don't describe something as fire, but that salsa was FIRE. - fire up fries: good level of crunch with the fries. It was not soggy at all. Couldn't tell if the cheese was actual melted cheese or some sort of queso cheese, but it was good. The chicken pastor was okay? Mostly tasted like steamed chicken thighs with some light seasoning to me. The fries with the liquid cheese, pico de gallo and guacamole was delicious - molcajete w/ rice and beans: rice was bland. Salted but nothing special. The beans are whole pinto beans and it seems like they put some of the birria consommé in it? It was red and had some strands of meat or something in it, so definitely flavorful. Molcajete came out super hot as expected. The sauce was well seasoned and has a nice kick. The chicken in the Molcajete again felt like it was just boiled chicken... the beef was a bit tough because it was not sliced against the grain. Would come back for appetizers, drinks and vibes. Highly recommend this appetizer, it was delicious. Then for the main entrée I had their popular tacos, came in serving size of 3. Drinks: Plenty of selections to choose from when you're trying to get drinks. From bottled or on tap beers, to well drinks. I had the Mule, which was really good as well. Next time I come here, I definitely want to enjoy a beer, and a game. Seating: They offer indoor, and outdoor seating. We sat outside, so I personally didn't see inside, and how many seats they offered. But for the outdoor seating there was plenty, and we had a party size of 6, that easily sat comfortably.
