    Tomato Basil flatbread
    Marianne P.

Outstanding! Went here for dinner on a Sunday night. The location used to be Pizanos pizza. The restaurant is beautiful. The decor is very stylish. I had the tomato basil flatbread. It was amazing. My friends enjoyed their choices as well. The chef was on Hell's Kitchen. Our server was very nice. She did double duty as server and bartender. I will return.

Having found this place on the North shore restaurant month list and then looking at the menu I was already psyched to check it out. It did not disappoint. When you walk in there's two directions you can go, right or left. To the right is the dining room and bar area, to the left is the family section. The family section is a very impressive concept. Adjacent to the tables it's got a few arcade games so that young kids can entertain themselves and their kids menu offers a special "toddler" style which just means that they cut the food up for you so you can enjoy your own food a little easier. It's very clever to offer these options, and even more so to separate this section from the general dining room. Of course, we were here for the more traditional dining experience in the main room. With full window siding, white tablecloths (covered with a white paper cover for easy clean-up), adjustable table lights, cloth napkins, white brick walls and several hanging lights and fans this space strikes the perfect balance between high-end and casual. The dining room is very comfortable. We ate lots of food on this visit, I really wanted to try out as many things as I could. We started with the tomato basil flatbread. The base is actually a thin croissant crust, a really unique spin on a traditional dish. This was the best flatbread I've ever had! Just the right doneness, a perfect but simple balance of flavor, and amazing preserved tomatoes on top make this dish something special. For our mains we ordered the lobster roll pasta and the picnic chicken. The pasta was great. Very buttery with a good amount of tasty lobster pieces throughout the dish. The picnic chicken was excellent as well. It was cooked perfectly and still juicy. The topping of sweet and spicy peppers really brought it all together adding some much needed acidity to chicken. It comes with your choice of two sides, I opted for crispy brown butter potatoes and cacio e pepe green beans. Both sides were excellent but I was really impressed with the cook and seasoning on the green beans, the parmesan and pepper flavor really shines on these. Completely full, and with leftovers for the future, I still couldn't leave without some dessert. We ordered the apple bread pudding and the gelato sundae. The bread pudding is quite the big piece, it was like a slice of cake made into bread pudding! With lots of great flavor and a moist texture this was a great finish. It comes topped with some fantastic gelato as well. The sundae has 2 flavors of gelato over a bed of strawberries and chocolate and was devoured and enjoyed as well. I haven't been this stuffed in quite some time, this isn't one of those places where you leave hungry. All throughout our dinner the service was spot on. The waitress was friendly and checked in often. Our server brought us extra plates so we could share and they removed our used plates and utensils promptly and with a smile. I even had the pleasure of talking with the chef/owner for a bit before things got busy. She's working hard to fulfill her vision and I'd say it really shows in the concept and small details. She asked for any and all opinions, the good, the bad, and the ugly. This was really a perfect meal, I wouldn't say I have any complaints, but I'll offer a few small notes I have. For the chicken, I would have liked more peppers. Getting some in each bite would elevate the dish further. The crispy potatoes could use a slightly smaller cut to really get a crispy texture. The bread pudding would benefit from more apple pieces, it was delicious but it wasn't apple forward. A bit more of the maple sauce or syrup that it came with would be welcome as well. Those are all really minor things but those tweaks, I feel, would improve the experience. They've only been open a little over a week but I'm blown away with the effort on display here. I'll certainly be back to try even more dishes. Overall this is an elegant and family friendly spot that's upscale in design but doesn't break the bank. A must try!

Awesome dinner. It was fun to pick the items on the grazing board as a starter. We had the detox salad, lobster pasta, smash burger and keto chicken stir fry (special). In other words, there was something for everyone and lots of healthy options. I would order any of the dishes we tried again.

Lobster roll pasta - good flavors but a little dry

Came here in search of comfort food, and while it didn't deliver on that, the food, service, ambience were all pretty solid. Interesting location in a random spot in Glenview - we've crossed it many times, really glad we finally tried it! This place is pretty unique - it looks nice, cloth tablecloths covered with kraft paper, contemporary coastal designs and leather chairs, it even seems to have semi-separated sections for families (with kids) and those without. In the same areas as the family section, there is a little play room with video games and toddler toys to entertain the young'uns while waiting for food or while the adults talk after a meal. The staff is amazing - everyone is so friendly and welcoming, huge smiles, thoughtful and attentive service. This is a great place for anyone - families, girl get together, date night. The only callout is that it can get LOUD here, whether it's the bare flooring or just the crowdedness, it can be hard to talk/hear in this restaurant. We ordered the kid's charcuterie board ($12) was absolutely adorable and SO creative. It wowed us in terms of presentation (on a cheese board) and the amount and quality of food (fresh berries, grapes, croissant bread sticks, waffle fries, deli turkey slices, half an avocado), and reminded me of an adult cheese board - what a great idea! They quickly brought us a little kid's plate to help make the food and portions more manageable. We also ordered lobster roll pasta ($38). The lobster pasta was good, could've been better, and apparently is a popular choice. The flavor was certainly there - you could taste the lobster throughout, balanced with a squeeze of lemon, including on the pasta itself. The pasta was cooked al dente, in a good way. And there was a fair amount of lobster pieces in it (don't expect huge lobster tail chunks), but there wasn't enough sauce. The pasta ended up a bit dry. The smashburger ($17) was promising, but the waffle fries left something wanting. The burger itself was packed with double patties, and a bunch of other deliciousness, including some type of relish that gave it a good bite. If you're not a fan of pickles, you might not like this burger, but if you are or don't mind it, then this burger is one of the better burgers I've had - well balanced!

Came here for a late date night and sat at a high top by the bar. The service was quick and our server was attentive throughout the whole night. We got the lobster Mac and cheese and the lobster sliders. The lobster sliders is like a lobster roll cut into thirds. The truffle lobster mac and cheese was priced at $40 but the portion was very large. Both were delicious and I definitely would get them both again. We also tried the espresso martini and the pear martini. Loved both but the espresso martini was very strong. It definitely kicks. Lastly we ended with the strawberry shortcake. Highly recommend. We truly enjoyed everything we ordered that night and can't wait to be back again.

Excellent food and ambiance! Love what they have done to the place. Great drink selection and nice menu! Had the lamb chops with mashed potatoes and broccoli and blueberry bread pudding. The owner Jamie greeted all the guests. So excited for her new restaurant to thrive in Glenview!

I'm in heaven! Huge range of gf options - almost everything on the menu has a gf option, plus lots of vegan and dairy free options. Dedicated range, oven, griddle and fryer for gf. 2 kiddos have celiac (wheat allergy) so we appreciate this!!! Everything we had was so flavorful and fresh. It is a bit pricey ($35 chicken, $19 burger). We sat in the kids area which I think is wonderful if you have very small kids, but otherwise is a bit loud and lacking the ambience of the main dining room.

Getting yummier and busier every week. Last night 4 of us shared wings to start. One person had soup and chicken meatballs for his entree. Other entree photos below. Forgot to take photo of gelato sundae which was a huge hit!! Love that managers and owner are checking in with diners. Way to go!!!

Based on the great yelp reviews, I decided to try this restaurant for takeout tonight & it did not disappoint! Between three people, we shared the lobster pasta & lamb chops (2 double cut), which came with two sides. We chose broccoli oglio olio & the mashed potatoes. Both were very good, and the lamb chops were delicious. The lobster pasta had tons of lobster, and the pasta is clearly homemade, and it had great flavor. We will definitely order again!

This time around, we decided to head down there for dinner with our 7:15pm reservations. First off, it was super busy but we were promptly and warmly greeted by Ms. Ava who told us that they were clearing some tables for us. The interior decor remained absolutely stunning and I love the sounds of hustle and bustle alongside ambient lighting. When we got seated, our waiter, Taha, introduced himself and immediately put in my request for two Strawberry Rose Palomas, Lemonade, Moroccan Onion Dip in addition to the Hot Honey Holumi. Taha was kind and our drinks and small plates and hot mezze were delivered at the speed of light. I also want to note that we were constantly being checked up on, our empty drinks were filled up again, empty plates were taken away without us having to say anything. This alone deserved a gold star from me!! But I digress. The Strawberry Rose Palomas were strong but sweet at the same time. They weren't so watered down and were light and refreshing. My mom loved her lemonade although the caveat here would be to be a little lighter on the ice. Mmm.....the Moroccan Onion Dip was fantastic per usual. Tangy, succulent, all the same. The pita bread was so good as well. It was fresh and warm and we couldn't get enough. The Hot Honey Holumi was alright but I wasn't big of a fan. Besides the topping, it didn't really taste of anything and I think I could have done without it. When it came to the main meals, my dad and i ordered the grilled chicken kabob plate and my mom got the grilled branzino. When we received our food, my dad could not stop raving about how good the chicken kabob was. The rice was plentiful and the chicken was juicy, well portioned and big. Seeing as though I'm definitely a spicy girl, I ordered some extra harissa and it was delicious. Spicy and added a great kick to the chicken kabob plate. To continue on this savory journey, my mom absolutely loved her grilled branzino. It was so flaky and flavorful. It had been deboned and with the additional squeeze of lemon, it was absolutely delicious. It made my heart huge to see how satisfied my parents were with their meals. I, of course, loved my grilled chicken kabob. The chicken was cooked well with it being juicy, succulent and tender. It paired well with the rice which again was plentiful. The harissa was the perfect compliment. **Chef's Kiss** We finished the night off with the warm sticky date cake which was not too sweet but sweet enough. It was soft and gooey all at the same time. It paired nicely with the whipped cream on the side. I, as well as my parents, enjoyed it. With my overall experience this time around compared to my previous one was night and day. Honestly, the customer service this time around was light years different from my first experience which was not great and very unfortunate. Because of tonight, I could tell right away that this was an establishment who actually cared about the dining experience of its patrons. To me, a place could have the best food in the world but if the customer service lacks, your whole dining experience is lost. Although my initial experience here was not the best, this experience showed me that errors can be rectified and experiences can be turned around. Our overall experience tonight was great and I will definitely be back, bringing along others with me. The price here is pretty up there but like I always say; you get what you pay for and this experience is definitely A1 and well worth it. Shoutout to Jordan, Taha, Ava and the rest of the crew! Thanks for turning our dining experience around and we hope to see yaall again soon! The team is constantly circling the restaurant to make sure tables are cleared and food comes in a timely manner. We had people with allergies at the table and the team was accommodating and our food had the allergy labels in them. The team was very professional and kind! Food was so good! Everything over all was delivery but some highlights from the shared dinner were the eggplant spread, the brussel sprouts, and date cake. Warmed pitas were seasoned well and texture was fluffy but not too soft where it wasn't able to hold its shape. I could have the sweet potatoes latkes everyday! The lamb ragu hummus and short rib were good but we found the actual protein was a bit dry and flavor subdue compared to their accompaniments. The spicy brisket kabobs were good but we were stuff so we had to slow our roll. The Date cake was delicious! Perfect amount of sweetness for those both sweet lovers and non lovers! 10/10 recommend. We'll be back for brunch sometime!

My family is fully a savory meal crowd, so we loved having options that weren't just two eggs with toast. The food came out fast and had so much flavor, for the price you really can't beat it. Though I'm more of a fan of savory I couldn't help but be intrigued by their sweet offerings -- the Dubai chocolate waffle? Churro waffle coated in cinnamon sugar? Banana bread French toast? The list goes on and on, these flavors are so unique and I can't believe that I can find them all under one roof. I had to try the carrot cake pancakes, and they truly tasted like carrot cake. Our server Miriam was awesome with our orders, she came by to check on us and not too many times, and was there to help us with leftovers and leaving stuff. She struck a nice balance of not being there vs being here too often, so that's Ace's in my book. Since it was Mother's Day, it's crowded and a bit loud but not too loud where it was too obnoxious, except for a few people who had no manners at all on dress, but that's another topic I won't go to, for now. Tables, plates and silverware were clean, and one can still get around, even with one table behind us with a handicapped person, it didn't crowd up much at all - it was all very reasonably spacious. Walker Brothers had special hours on Thanksgiving, from 8:00 am to noon. We arrived at 10:40 am, the line was pretty long, extending to the front door. This was expected, this was a great choice for breakfast or brunch for friends and families, especially on a holiday. There were about 6 tables ahead of us. Our wait was only 15 minutes. We were happy to be seated at a cozy but comfy booth in the middle of the dining room at 10:55 am. As soon as we got in, we already enjoyed the aroma of good coffee, butter, and delicious food! The vibe was warm, festive, and happy. As always, we were greeted by friendly staff. Maria, our server, was very friendly. She and her whole team were very efficient without rushing us. We were amazed that she constantly had a nice smile, and was attentive and pleasant the whole time, even though the restaurant was packed with families. We got one order of French Toast (my favorite), two orders of Strawberry crepes, one order of Farm-Style Sausages, and an order of Canadian Bacon. All three of us got coffee, that's always so good. The food and coffee came out quickly; everything was prepared to perfection. I dare to say that no one could beat their French Toast, something so simple but so delectable and satisfying. The portions were generous, we were happy to have leftovers. We are thankful that this Walker Brothers is doing so well and is close by. We will never get tired dining in there!

While there is an "in" and an "out" door, it seems that the host stand and cashier station are one and the same, resulting in a bunch of people queuing. Thankfully, one of the hosts/cashiers noticed, asked if I was waiting for a table, and I was promptly seated. It is perhaps a blessing that the menu lists calorie counts, for I would have ordered the Apple Cinnamon Pancake without a second thought. Only it is 1,880 calories, and that's before the ice cream upgrade that's still tempting me as I read their menu. I ordered the Blueberry instead. What I liked about these is that they weren't overly sweet, and had a hearty amount of blueberries within. I'd also like to recognize that biting into them, I didn't encounter a spray of blueberry-gut-lava that's burned me when I attempted blueberry pancakes at home. However, while not bad, I found them in no way remarkable. Neither the textures nor flavors were anything to write home about. Rather than a gently crisp exterior and fluffy interior, they were instead similar to something between custard and cake. In terms of the service: I thought it was friendly, polite, and once the order was placed, the food came out in no time. Otherwise, the service felt a little inattentive. For example, after I said I needed just a minute to decide, the server did not stop by in longer than expected. Also, towards the end of the meal, it didn't click that I was to pay the cashier rather than the waiter... a little "D'oh" on my part, but a reminder would have been appropriate and welcome. As for the vibe: there is so much wood, if you dumped the restaurant into the lake, it would float! Adding to the vibe are some lighting fixtures with stained glass, and others are decorative, but mismatched, if not outright missing. Staff wore uniforms reminiscent of those seen in old movies. Final verdict: While I appreciate what Walker Brothers is trying to do, and their prices are reasonable, I do not feel the experience was enjoyable enough to warrant a return visit. Okay pancakes, and service that could use some polish are not enough, especially with many fantastic breakfast spots in Chicagoland.

The service has always been outstanding. They know us there and greet us when we come in, and if our usual table is available, they seat us there. Their prices are very reasonable, and the food is consistently good, as is the service. I generally go with my elderly mother who lives not too far from the Grill. She usually orders something simple. I try to select different things on the menu when I'm there, but if I get anything more regularly, it would be their taco dinner. But I've had breakfasts and various lunches there. We've never been there for dinner. If you have not tried the Greenwood Grill, give it a try!

Their menu is pretty extensive, offering breakfast plates, omelettes, skillets, pancakes, sandwiches, soups, salads, and entrees, as well as a Mexican menu. We came here for a later breakfast, and ordered: +a breakfast burrito - opted for the steak, and this came with eggs, potatoes, cheese, green peppers, and onions - definitely filling, and good with the red hot sauce that they had +a chicken tamale - slightly coagulated and the masa was slightly dried out; the chicken itself was seasoned well +black coffee The only thing was that I wished the cook had worn gloves when preparing the food. This is definitely a family- owned & -operated business; there was only one server, but the service, surprisingly, wasn't lacking. They have a handful of seating inside as well as some patio seating. A few spots are available on the front and to the right side of the building. +friendly service +parking available

The patio is just okay, in my opinion. It's small and nothing is very special about it, but on a nice, sunny day, it's perfect for lunch. I've never been a huge fan of the indoor dining area either, and I usually opt to sit at the bar if I can. The staff is very kind. They have an excellent burger. It's always cooked right and I love the bun. I add avocado to mine. The fries are great too, and always the perfect amount of crispy. I consistently used to order their Turkey Club, but at some point in the past few years, they switched from fresh cut turkey to deli turkey. It's not nearly as good anymore for that reason, and not worth ordering. The only Glenview restaurants I know of that still use fresh turkey in their sandwiches are Hackney's and Meier's Tavern. Also, their Guinness pours can be questionable depending on who's pouring. Nowadays, when I go to Grandpa's, I only ever order the Chicken Kabobs. They are absolutely delicious! If you like medium spice, I advise you to ask for them cajun-style. They are best this way! The kabobs come served over rice with the most juicy oven roasted tomatoes, and this addicting peanut sauce on the side. I pour it over the whole thing. It is a must-try and no doubt the best thing on their menu. Highly recommend Grandpa's food, as most things on the menu are enjoyable. They also have Merkt's Cheese!

Then I tasted my hot beef sandwich. It was delicious and plentiful and even the mashed potatoes were acceptable. My sister had the special pot roast with egg noodles that was also great tasting with a lot of meat. Our server (I forgot his name) was excellent. He was concerned when we didn't like the soup or salad but was glad we liked our entrees. They also have a large case of desserts. We tried the baklava which was also delicious. The menu is massive - they have so many different choices, you might be looking at it for a while if you don't know what kind of food you want when you come in! We tried the corn beef omelette and the pesto flatbread with Cesar salad - both were excellent and huge portions! We also tried the baked French onion soup - a big portion and the melted cheese on top was excellent. Our server was very friendly as well. 24 hour anything's are a rare thing nowadays post COVID, so this was a nice, convenient find. I highly recommend a visit to Omega Restaurant if you want a good place to eat anytime - day or night!
