I can't really comment on the food or drinks because we actually didn't stay. We just weren't feeling the love I guess and the restaurant was completely empty except for us, so a group decision was made to eat elsewhere. The only real thing I can comment on, is that the chairs are in need of replacement. The material is cracking and they have duct taped them up. Other than that, it's a nice, big, open space that I would have thought would've had more people. We were there for lunch, so maybe it's more of a dinner place? read more

After my husband and I got settled into our hotel room, we both noticed ourselves feeling hungry, especially since we hadn't had a proper meal since 4:00am that morning (and by proper, all we had was a small bite of Chick-fil-A at MSY Airport lol). Since we also had to use up our meal vouchers from United Airlines, we figured we would just head downstairs to Fire + Spice to grab a bite to eat. Fire + Spice is located on the ground floor of the Denver Airport Mariott at Gateway Park. It is located to the immediate left if you are entering from the hotel's front entrance or to to the right/straight ahead if you are passing by the front desk. While I am not sure if it's the norm, the little chalkboard sign posted at the front of the restaurant informed guests that they could just find a seat before being assisted, so we decided to grab a table in a quiet spot, and was promptly assisted by Eric, who brought us menus and some waters. We ultimately decided on splitting chicken wings and chips + dip as well as individually ordering fish and chips and a turkey avocado sandwich. Since we weren't sure what type of seasoning/sauce to pair with our chicken wings, we asked Eric who recommended the Nashville, which is essentially a dry rub version of a buffalo sauce but without the extra tang of vinegar. The food also came quickly because I swear we had only waited a couple of minutes before Eric came by first with our chips + dip and then the Nashville chicken wings. The chips + dip were probably the best I have ever had with freshly made tortilla chips and a dual option of queso and salsa. The queso was rich, gooey, and had a bit of bite to it probably from the different combination of cheeses, whereas the salsa was hearty and refreshing. The Nashville chicken wings were also amazing as the chicken wings were tender and juicy and the Nashville rub is something I still dream about to this day. In fact, if I ever get the option again, I would definitely pick the Nashville over Buffalo wings because it was the perfect balance between salt and spice. Similarly, my husband's fish and chips and my turkey avocado sandwich were also amazing. My husband said that the fish and chips was also the best that he had and even better than the one he had while we were in NOLA (which is pretty legit considering their seafood is amazing). My turkey avocado sandwich was also hearty and filling, each of the ingredients fresh and just absolutely delightful. The fries that were also paired with my sandwich (and also paired with my husband's fish) was also crazy good. The fries were crisp, well-seasoned, and only added to the overall delight of our meal. We were also fortunate to have Eric as our server as he helped lighten the mood and engage in conversation with us turning what initially started off as a horrible morning/afternoon to a delightful evening of rest, relaxation, and good food and conversation. Eric had even explained he was initially from NOLA, which was coincidentally where we had just come from, and we just all continued to converse about different topics such as questions he had about Hawaii, our experience in NOLA, and about a fear of spiders/bugs. We had such a wonderful dinner that when Eric had rang our meal vouchers up and came back to let us know we still had extra vouchers left, we told him that he could keep it as an extra tip, which he gratefully thanked us for before we headed back up to our room for the night. Overall, I would highly recommend Fire + Spice if you happen to be in the area or staying at the Denver Airport Mariott at Gateway Park hotel. As Eric smartly pointed out, Fire + Spice is a "restaurant located at a hotel and not a hotel restaurant," meaning that the food found here is some of the best you will ever find at a hotel, something that I can 100% vouch for. Eric also made for great company as we ate dinner and had we had more time in Denver or even at the hotel, I definitely would have made more trips to Fire + Spice to checkout more of their other menu options (and converse with Eric if he was on shift as he was a natural conversationalist). Prices are also very affordable for the amount and quality of food you're given making it one of the best food options to have in a hotel setting. read more

I'm actually very surprised by a hotel near the airport's restaurant. I had the bolognese pasta which sounded great but had huge doubts on execution. I was very wrong for thinking that. The pasta was spot on and very flavorful. They also had a great wine selection and I had a bourbon barrel aged cab from Robert Mondavi. Overall feel good that if staying here you are in good hands. read more

The bison quesadillas were very bland (and made of ground bison not shredded as I was told) The one bright spot was the shrimp tempura which was quite delightful. Whenever I travel I always try to prepare ahead to figure out the best places to eat. Knowing that I would be staying at the Denver Airport Marriott at Gateway Park, I looked up at places near the hotel that I could dine at. Fire + Spice caught my eye not only because it was in the hotel but because of it's name. I knew it would be cold in Colorado and I thought to myself, who wouldn't a little fire and spice when in chilly weather. I went to Fire + Spice during dinner and when I first arrived, there weren't too many people yet. It quickly filled up with hotel guests soon enough though. Many sat in the adjacent bar area but a significant amount did sit in the main dining area. Though their menu specializes in Southwestern cuisine, they do have bit more than that. They've got ceviche, empanadas, tacos and at the same time they have pork spare ribs, braised short rib and grilled steak salad. A lot of the menu items here a bit on the spicy side (hmm perhaps a reason why the restaurant is named Fire + Spice. They have three different heat levels, "A Little of Zest," "Spicy Pleasure" and "Sizzling." I definitely felt the spice at first bite with my starter tortilla soup. That soup sure did have a fiery kick to it. It was definitely perfect for the 20 degree weather that was going on that night. My only comment for this though was I didn't see all the ingredients they listed on the menu. The menu said it had guacamole, Pico de Gallo and tortilla crisp. I didn't see any of this in the soup unless it was mixed in. The real star of my meal however came in my main entree, the chorizo chicken. The chicken was simply amazing. It was a chorizo stuffed fried chicken breast topped off with chipotle cream sauce. It was perfectly fried and so crispy. There wasn't too much chorizo inside but it was still very flavorful. Each bite was heavenly. This came with cilantro rice and black beans. I felt the cilantro rice was a little mushy and the black beans a little lack luster in flavor but nevertheless the chicken made up for it. Overall I was pretty pleased with my meal. I found this place to be a good place for some spicy food in cold Aurora. read more

We were in need of some cocktails so I ordered a Cosmo and my husband ordered the Fire & Spice Margarita. Both were delicious but less ice and more drink in the Margarita would have made it perfect! I was thrilled to see they offered a vegan option, the Vegan Sampler which had brussel sprouts, cauliflower, and carrots over a delicious quinoa mixture of black beans and corn. My husband, being the burly guy he is , ordered the Colorado Mountain Man Burger. He said it was tasty and the coleslaw very good. Beware of the pickle on top, I took a bite and found out it was super spicy! Our waiter Younes was a whirlwind of activity and took great care of us. He deserved the tip we left. We also ate here for breakfast. They have a buffet which is quite pricey ($20/person) so you need to eat a lot to make it worthwhile. The potatoes I took were not warm and the scone was as dry as a popcorn fart. The coffee was good. Our waiter was great, didn't catch his name, but he brought a pot of coffee and takeout cups with the bill which we appreciated. read more

The waitstaff was very friendly, the service was fast and efficient. They followed Covid precautions. The restaurant was clean and fresh looking. My omelet was hot and delicious. The only negative was that the coffee was awful. It seemed to be stale. My waiter did bring a fresh pot while I was there, but I didn't try it. read more

Sat at the bar and staff was attentive. Ordered a pomegranate martini and the cosmopolitan and both were well made. Also tried their crab cakes during happy hour and they were well flavored. Wish they were as hot as the plate they came on as they were served only slightly warm but they were still good. In one of the other reviews there were three crab cakes but I was only given two. Maybe it's because it was happy hour, I'm not sure, but would definitely order them again nonetheless. read more

Bar and restaurant in the Marriott - great option if you are staying there. Service was excellent. Food was tasty and quick to come out. The chips and salsa were unusually good. The green salsa was the perfect amount of spice and hotness. We got the Vegan Sampler and highly recommend it! The Brussel sprouts were to die for! Quinoa, cauliflower, carrots and hummus. How can you go wrong? We splurged and got the sweet potato casserole for dessert. OMG - so delicious. Creamy goodness topped with a little coconut and powdered sugar. Even ate the skin. Now on to dessert. Complained to Hannah that the selections were boring. She assured me the cheesecake was good. I asked her to please spice it up a bit. For an in house hotel restaurant, the menu is very good and the choices are as good as any mid priced diner. I like salmon and this glazed salmon was good sized, the slaw was unique and I'm not eating carbs so I had to skip the sweet potatoes. In all I liked it. read more

Got placed in the Denver Airport Marriott at Gateway Park by United and was pleased to find that the restaurant inside the hotel is great. Worth a visit even if you are not staying at the Marriott, but certainly a good reason NOT to leave the hotel if you are. The food was fresh and unique. Served like it was prepared by a chef as opposed to an hourly hire shlepping out your food. The spicy sauces were fresh and flavorful, the salmon tasted great, the ribs were good and the presentation was neat and clean. Prices were not outrageous, portions were fair but not huge. Drinks were well made. If you are staying at one of the hotels in the area, consider a walk over to Fire + Spice for drinks, dinner or appetizers. It's a nice place to sit at the bar and eat as well. read more

The bartender here rudely told me to eat my pasta (which in fairness I got from another restaurant) in the lobby, after I ordered over $100 worth of fish tacos from Fire and Spice. I understand eating outside food not in the restaurant, but she was very entitled and her words unnecessarily hostile. The food is also generally bad. Same with the "Starbucks" coffee. If you're not staying at the hotel, there's no reason to come here. read more

When I walked in, the staff were around a corner and didn't see me or I them. Thus I wandered around a bit until I found someone to make an order. Regardless, the food and staff were great. I ordered a veggie burger and side salad. It's easy to mess up a veggie burger, but they got it just right. The staff were friendly and attentive. I'd eat here again. read more

Just had the best experience! I love coming to Colorado. Seriously, there's truly something in the air here.. Besides the trees ... and the trees I was going to order delivery and sat at what I thought was just an island table for guests of the to hang at and charge up or do work.. Turns out it was part of the restaurant and I was asked if I was going to be ordering by Lauren, the nicest most warm-welcoming server EVER.. I said to myself, might as well check out the menu. The only thing I was interested in was the soup of the day.. they didn't have one but she told me about their Tortilla Soup.. I asked for a sample (which was no problem), got a few spoons deep and knew pretty quickly that I wanted more. I didn't know whether to get a cup or a bowl and she said I would do much better getting the bowl for the price.. she was spot on and true.. Needless to say after that build up, the soup was DELICIOUS!!! You know, the kind of food that has you actually mmm-ing.. and rightfully had to disappear completely before I could even take a breathe again. I had to tell Lauren.. Once I did, she explained how it was homemade, down to the guac and the pico-de-gallo layered at the bottom of the bowl. And I told her of the taste explosion that happened in my mouth.. literally like that seen In ratatouille, when I got a spoon full of soup, with pico, and guac and a nice chunk of avocado and the avocado just popped and the following swarm of flavors was ridiculous lol, not kidding. And that's when it made sense why it was good in a way that most can't be.. because it was homemade. And Lauren was really happy to see that I enjoyed it, and consistently checked up on me throughout my time there. Wonderful meal, wonderful service. Highly recommend. Depending on which mixologist is behind the bar, you will either have a great experience or a below average experience. I ordered the mango martini and it was more of a lukewarm daiquiri. Yuck. My friends pomegranate martini tasted like bad cough syrup. Double yuck. We stayed for taco Tuesday - $15 for 3 tacos then all draught beers are $3 per glass. The beer is a great deal but the chicken tacos were bland - no fire or spice! Shrimp taco listed as having bacon in it but none to be found. Where's the bacon Fire & Spice? Soooo.....This place was about to get a 2 but made up for it with some delicious margaritas and a chips & salsa/guacamole appetizer. We first went here for lunch around 1 pm on a Saturday. We had to hunt someone down to see if they were really open (the sign said they were). Finally got someone. We sat down and had slooooow service even though we were the only ones there. Ordered our food and told 10-15 mins later that 2 out of 4 meals were currently unavailable. Changed up our orders and waited quite some time for just average food with Marriot pricing. Later that night they did have good drinks and apps, but service continued to be slow and staff seemed to care less about the customers. We noticed other customers getting wrong items served and/or leaving half the meal behind. So again, the food is just average at best. The icing on the cake was we were told earlier in the day that our desired food was unavailable because they sold out the night before and when we returned the lady told us we could get said items now that more staff was available to prepare it. I don't know how that works, but whatever... You can satisfy your hunger here, but if you have the means/energy there are plenty of eating places nearby. read more

We flew into Denver and checked in and were soon hungry and needing a drink after travelling all day. We sat and waited...and waited. There were possibly 9 people total incl. us. When the waiter finally came I ordered a Hendricks marini, shaken and neat. The waiter left, then came back 10 min later and asked in broken English if I wanted "just the alcohol or cold?" Having no idea what that meant, I simply said, "Shaken and neat." He looked hurt and confused and walked away. Approximately 20 min later he came back to get my food order, which was spare ribs. I asked about my martini, he said it was "on the way", though clearly the bartender was talking w/ a coworker and hadn't started on it. He went over and said something to her and she threw the ingredients in, gave 2 shakes, and poured the tepid drink into the glass. It was warm and watery, and as I was unpleasantly suprised, $12. The $16 spare ribs (2 of them on a bed of Cole slaw) were unremarkable. What gave this a 1 star review was breakfast the next morning. I ordered thier standard breakfast with bacon, but asked for only 1 egg and no toast. They brought it out with ham instead and charged me full price - $12. I hardly ever do not leave a tip, nor give 1 star reviews, but they earned both here for poor service and incredibly overpriced drinks and food. read more

Buffalo wings via room service were absolutely awful. Although a large portion size, there was so much sauce that they were inedible. The smell of them alone burned your now (I love spicy food) ... The food was alright. The steak salad and the chicken chop salad was good. The tortilla soup was great and my co-worker liked his potstickers a lot. HOWEVER, the service was absolute DOG SH**. I am giving them a 3 1/2 star rating for their food, but their service I would honestly give them a 1/2 star...NOT EVEN a full star! Seriously Marriott, get your act together!
