Came here to celebrate our February family birthdays a couple of weeks ago. We've been coming to this location for years and it's always been a favorite for our larger family birthday parties (sometimes we've had 30+ people) We really love it here. I'm so surprised at the bad reviews. We have never had any problems with the food being anything but great in literally 10 years. Everything has always been fresh and yummy. We have always had friendly wait staff, friendly cooks- like sincerely, it's always been good. I don't keep it shut when it comes to bad food or nasty service.There has been a time or two over the years that the host or hostess hasn't been great but it's definitely not the norm. We had my 1 year old niece and my 30 year old daughter celebrating their birthdays together and everyone was just so kind. Even about our one year old chaos queen making a mess! It's a great place. My husband and I decided to do a casual date night on a budget and stumbled upon Fire + Ice for their all-you-can-eat special. At around $26 all day, we were honestly surprised at how affordable it was, especially for a customizable stir-fry concept. The setup is straightforward: you choose your base, proteins, vegetables, and sauces, then watch as they cook everything on a large circular grill station in front of you. They also offer a small salad bar with options like build-your-own Caesar salad, macaroni salad, and clam chowder. When we walked in, the restaurant appeared clean and it wasn't very busy (we went on a Monday). One thing I didn't realize beforehand is that you're limited to one bowl at a time for your stir-fry and the bowls are on the smaller side. So you really have to strategize and pack everything in carefully before heading to the grill. The ingredient station could definitely use better organization. The labeling was confusing, and it wasn't always clear what was what. I also wish there had been more attention to cross contamination practices. For those who avoid certain meats like pork, it's worth noting that the same spatulas are used across different dishes on the grill. Service was another area that could improve. After being seated, it took quite a while for someone to bring menus and drinks. There appeared to be only one server managing all the tables, and I genuinely felt bad for the young gentleman who was running around trying to keep up. Meanwhile, there was someone in a suit walking around who didn't seem to be assisting the floor staff, which was a bit puzzling. As for the food itself: the salad bar was decent not amazing, but acceptable. The macaroni salad was fine. The clam chowder, however, was not enjoyable and tasted very canned. The stir-fry was okay overall; I personally wasn't a fan of the sauce options, but for the price point, expectations should be realistic. Would I come back? Probably not. I had an excellent experience here! I was a bit skeptical after reading some reviews, and left pleasantly surprised. We did come on a Monday night, however, so it was not very busy. First of all, I loved the location at the Anaheim GardenWalk. Parking is easy here and the restaurant even validated. Servers were all pretty friendly and attentive as well. They have a full bar and a wide variety of drinks to choose from. The layout here is similar to Mongolian bbq...but next level! They have such a wide variety of self-serve noodles, toppings, meats, and sauces. Not only can you make bowls, but they have hamburger patties and a salad bar as well. The options are really endless! One thing I really loved was chatting with the cooks. One of the guys working saw our bowls and suggested his own flavor combo...it ended up being so good! They also made the experience fun with fire and juggling (gave me teppanyaki vibes for sure). I especially loved this spot for my daughter because she is pretty picky, and she loved making her own custom noodle bowls!!! So overall, I had a 5 star experience. I tried out Fire + Ice at the Garden Walk in Anaheim and it was certainly an experience! It is a Mongolian style restaurant and you get to pick out the food you want cooked and the grill chef will cook it for you. There are a variety of base noodles from pasta to ramen style, as well as different veggies and proteins you can add to your custom dish. It's a great place for multiple diets as they have many options. I made a stir fry noodle with the Szechuan sauce, which was so tasty, so I recommend trying it on your food if go. I should add that there are other cooked items you can order from the menu such as steamed rice to go with your dish and other appetizers. This is a great place for a family lunch or din, especially if you're planning on eating a lot. The service is great and there's a fair amount of space on the inside. You can park in the Garden Walk structure and get your parking validated at the restaurant for a certain amount of time. Check it out if you can! read more

Fire + Ice - Stir Fry Lunch - New American Near Me - Anaheim, California

They could get so much more business if they changed their approach to seating. We were there on a Saturday night around 6pm. They don't allow reservations for parties smaller than 4 people. Up to a third of the restaurant was empty while we were there, because it was perpetually reserved. And the kitchen was not overly busy while we were there. So there was no pacing required. They should just let all of the customers in! There was a line of people waiting to be seated. Lots of potential walkby traffic was lost due to seeing that line. They should break up all the tables into more modular smaller tables that can accommodate smaller parties or be joined together for larger parties. In fact I would argue they shouldn't even take any reservations at all. The mall was busy with lots of walkby traffic. While you're waiting to be seated, you can't even get a drink at the bar. In fact the bar counter itself is reservation only. I've never seen such a thing! They could have sold an extra 3 drinks to our party of 3 while we were waiting. Revenue lost. In fact they should turn their front patio into a drinking only section and let everybody who is waiting be able to hang out there with a drink. If they don't want them approaching the kitchen while they're waiting to be seated then they can control that by having waiters distribute empty bowls to seated tables. That way unseated people will be prevented from getting food prematurely. In fact there was an enormous line nearby of people waiting to get into the House of Blues. If this restaurant's front patio would be converted into a drinking only area, standing only, and people knew they could quickly get in and out for a quick drink without any seat assignment, before the show, then lots of money could be made just on alcohol sales alone. They established a counter intuitive approach to take your loaded bowl of ingredients to the cooks in a counter clockwise fashion. Customers are loading up their bowls with ingredients in a clockwise fashion. Then 2 bottlenecks occur. 1st the customers pause to figure out where to go to get to the cooks. 2nd they realize they need to double back towards the direction they came, walking against the flow of traffic in a counter clockwise fashion to get to the correct spot for the cooks. They should have the cooks operate counter clockwise, and let the customers operate clockwise. In fact there's one more bottleneck... customers get utterly confused once they get to the sauce station. If there was anyway to establish an additional sauce station, or a double sided sauce station with traffic on both sides, or have a big chalkboard above the sauce station with recommended recipes of sauces, or provide flyers with recipes of sauces when customers are seated and then they can take some time familiarizing themselves with the sauces before they get out of their seat, or have one of the staff who are reloading ingredients to also provide recommendations to customers about how to tackle the sauces. There are many streamlined efficiencies to be had, and more money to be made. If for some reason this restaurant doesn't survive, it's their own doing. Food is generally good. Asian style seems to be the best. Italian style... the cream sauce is absolutely flavorless and you definitely have to sprinkle in their various seasonings to kick it up a notch. The cooks have a variety cheeses they can add for you, including shredded Parmesan. But they don't mix in the Parmesan while cooking. Perhaps you can ask them to do so. Otherwise they just sprinkle it on top at the end. Mexican style is also an option with tortillas available. read more

Came here on a Saturday night with three of my dear friends - had to wait around 15 min, but we were walk in on a busy night so that was expected. This is a buffet style restaurant, which is great for people who can eat a lot (not me lol). Despite my limited tummy space, I was still able to snag a couple of nice dishes - one Alfredo pasta dish in which I put steak and onions (there are toppings at the buffet bar you can put on after) and a burger (you can grab a hamburger patty at the bar and then when you come to the cook station they will have buns and veggies available). Only bummer is that you have to pay for fries separately, so I just got some potato salad instead. Overall a very pleasant and fun experience! Really appreciated how hard working the cooks were, it can't be easy juggling all of the different orders and making sure of minimal cross contamination. They were very nice as well :) read more

Came on a Sunday with friends who raved about this place. It was soo disappointing. The food tastes like cafeteria food! I wanted to make udon noodles and saw (sliced steak) option... it was literally hamburger pattie. It seems like a great idea surface level, but the quality of the food along with the options they carry do not work well at all with this idea. The sauces are minimal and barely work with the food that is presented to you. It was flavorless and bland, I had to run straight to the bathroom while there. The service was awesome, the workers knew my friends and seemed so polite. It's clean and organized well, it's just the food... is terrible. I would never come back again. Love this location at garden walk. So the whole concept is you gather all of the fresh ingredients for your meal from meats, veggies, sauces, etc. once you pile everything up you take your bowl to the grill to be cooked. Honestly not a bad place to eat. They have good hours they are open, their servers are all kind, and their selection for food is vast while also not breaking the bank. I think the food quality suffers sometimes when it's a little more busy. Wish I had a good experience, but I received an unwelcome vibe. I made a quick stop here hoping to grab some beers while waiting for a friend to go to a show next door at the House of Blues. Thought it would be real cool to just check this place out and grab a cold one, maybe an appetizer. My first impression was of a waitress at the front working the day of the Exodus show who was right away rude when I asked if they had a bar. She responded by telling me they do, but she can't help me, and if I want to go to the bar, I have to go sit myself, and the bartender will help me. Okay, at least be nice about it. I ended up just skimping on the appetizers. I was no longer really in the mood to eat; if anything, I was afraid to ask more questions because she would just respond unkindly. As I was sitting, I noticed she gave attitude to a lot of showgoers who wanted the same thing, and many of them left when she spoke to them, almost like she did not want to deal with them. Rude! Anyways, I got my beer, and the bartender himself was actually cool. He was kind, not the lady up front. I wish I got her name, but oh well. What a cool concept! All you can eat, Korean bbq. You have a 2 hour time limit. But you can go back as many times as you'd like within that 2 hour window. For the price, it's a steal! I am so happy that they have vegetarian options. They have tofu and beyond meat. Lots of veggies available in the bar. The salad bar looks fresh. All of the toppings are delicious. You basically pick your bowl, load it with toppings, grab a sauce, and then they cook it in the center for you. The food is bomb. It's fun to make your own creations. read more

Having gone to college in Boston, I'm pretty familiar with Fire + Ice -- although I haven't seen one in more than 15 years! I knew there was one at the GardenWalk and when I was staying in the area, I decided to pop in for a weekend lunch. If you're in the mood for a leisurely lunch where you can chat and eat $26.99 worth of food, this is definitely the place to go. (Note: midweek prices are less expensive by about $8 for lunch.) I was there for just under an hour, as I was dining solo, and can't sit for that long without having entertainment (person, book, etc.) I love the fact that they have a tremendous assortment of vegetables, meats and sauces! Each of my three bowls, I had a different sauce. I am really happy that Fire + Ice is still here; I've known about it for a while, but since it's not super close to where I live, I haven't popped in. Came to fire and ice today for my brother's birthday. We had a party of 13 adults and children. We had a reservation and were sat down right away after we got there. The kids were hungry. Went through the cold/raw food bar with 2 of my kids and it was fairly easy. Made my kids a variety of pastas. My son went through the bar by himself and waited for his food to get cooked by himself. Got myself a bacon cheeseburger burger with grilled onions (that is pretty good here!) with the garlic and herb butter melted on top first and a Philly cheesesteak next. I felt that this visit was nice because 2 of my 3 kids are able to go through the cold buffet pretty much by themselves and then wait for the food to be cooked. Pancakes, rice (ordered from waitress at table) hotdog, and eggs were things my kids got and jello for dessert. The restaurant got pretty busy and the two guys doing the cooking handled it pretty well I think. Overall a good visit today. read more

Got there right when they opened, got the brunch price which was $26.99 and you get omelet or other items like pasta, steak, chicken, seafood etc. Lots of protein options which whatever veggies or toppings you would like. Service was very nice, as first timers here they told us how it worked and were very helpful. Since it was early, the ambiance was very quiet and mellow, people were showing up after 11. Great concept and great price. Fire and Ice is a create your own noodle/pasta dish with a pretty extensive amount of noodles, vegetables, meats and sauces to choose from. In addition, the salad bar is vast and is included in the price. Despite us being a party of 16 and the restaurant being half full, it took less than ten minutes for me to get my meal once I was ready with my ingredients. Drinks were great. I opted for a chamoy margarita that was delicious. It's not the prettiest on the inside but the outside has a great view of Anaheim GardenWalk and that location is unbeatable if you want to do dinner and a movie or dinner and dancing. I see the vision but execution was not great. It's quite confusing at first since there's Italian options (Alfredo sauce, bow tie pasta, meatballs), American options (burgers, Philly cheesesteak), and Asian options (egg noodles, udon, teriyaki sauce, Korean sauce). So it could go really great or you could be overwhelmed by the seemingly too many options and end up with a confusing fusion. Salad bar was also quite lacking. One bowl per time at the grill which was pretty small - probably half a plate. Takes about 10 minutes each time you're at the grill. Remember to put sauce on the side. Good combos I saw people make were double cheese burgers (ask for buns + cheese: Swiss, American, cheddars at the grill), and tacos (tortillas available on the side). Got a blended pina colada and it was actually so good for $10! Rimmed with toasted coconut and a pineapple slice. Not overly sweet. Glad I tried it but would not come again at the $28/person price. It is all you can eat but the quality isn't there. They do set a piece of paper on fire at the grill once in a while which puts on a fun show. read more

A Mongolian grill, with fresh ingredients, and tons of options. 1 price for everything and while all food is cooked in a huge grill, if you have an allergy let them know. I was offered for it to be privately cooked. Great service, however this time while we were there a crowd of 80 kids came in. It was mass chaos, with huge lines and those kids just kept lining up. Our friend wanted to come here so the entire group of 8 of us came by. Unfortunately for me, I did not have a good experience. While the food is good, I have to say their cooking is lacking. My shrimp and fish were undercooked and after finding out, I already ingested some of them. I ended up having a stomach ache all night and kept going to the bathroom. Even the imitation crab was still cold when you take a bite. The butter doesn't melt properly. They have a giant grilled but they only use a small portion of it to cook everyone's food. They need to spread out the food on the grill so everything can cook evenly. I really wanted to like this place but my experience forced me to give this a bad review, which I don't often do. The selection at the market station was great for dinner. I love that they offer Mongolian, American and Taco/Fajitas in their food bar. They need plain pepper at the sauce/seasoning station. The gentleman cooking (Ruben) was very friendly and talkative. He even made me a special sauce for my steak. The music here is upbeat and not too loud. Our server is attentive and kept our large glasses of water full. Place is very clean and had lots of seating. Really good pricing for what you could possibly get. I made a Philly cheese steak, a beef Alfredo pasta, Mexican pizza (the only thing Mexican about it was the tortilla), and a salad. Pretty sure all that costs more individually than what you pay here. I got a mango mojito which was good but imo a mistake cause I'm basically paying extra to eat less food. The food was decent. Make sure you ask for your bowl to be cooked separately if you're vegan or vegetarian, otherwise they use the same tools and cooking area as they do for meat eaters. The prices were too high for that experience. If the servers had been attentive at all and the restaurant nice and clean, the prices would be tolerable. We were told 10-15 mins for our party of 3 and waited over 30 mins with no communication. I did get to watch their " beer guy" and his family get seated before us with no reservation. It wasn't the hostesses fault. She was doing what she was told. It was a round lunchtime and not super packed but there were unbiased tables all over the place. Considering it's $18.99/person for the weekday lunch buffet, expectations can't be too high. The buffet included grilling options and a small salad bar. Soft drinks and other beverages are an extra charge. The grilling ingredients allow for building pastas, stir fried noodles, fried rice, burgers, hot dogs, and meats and vegetables. The salad section included romaine lettuce, four different dressings and vinaigrettes, and various salad toppings. There are signs that enforce a 2-hour dining limit, but downside is that a good amount of the dining experience can be taken up by waiting for the foods to be cooked if the grill gets crowded and the cooks are busy. Weekday lunch buffet is worth a try! Cool concept overall, not too busy, our server checked on us often, and food might not be the greatest but was decent for the price.
