I've been a customer since they opened. Owner always speaks and smiles. My wife and I like the hero's. Stopped for a late lunch. Cashier told me where I could sit. In the srea takeout customers wait? I accidentslly spilled my drink. I ssked for a rag to clean up the spill and the person behind the counter looked at me like I had two heads. I realized he didn't know what I was saying. I pointed to the spill and he started yelling at the cashier in his native language. The cashier gave me a rag and I cleaned ss much as I could then went to return the rag. No one would give me the time of day to get another rag to finish. I ate with drink spill around my plate and still on the table. I was really humiliated in my own town. Their charbroiled chicken is really good but wanted to try other kind of dish so I ordered the Pollo Parillero. I was very disappointed. It's undercooked. The meat was not easy to cut and the skin very rubbery. First thing I thought of was salmonella. I had to throw it away. I'm a trucker, I can't afford to be sick thousand miles away from home. Long term review: very good food but I feel it's my duty to warn people of a few menu items. 1. Arroz con chaufa is a very average fried rice without much chicken for the price. 2. Yuca fries have changed, now they have a thick waxy texture. Even if they go back to the old fries, those were under salted. 3. I ordered a fish bowl as I have many times before. Partially into eating, I realized that the center of the fish was raw. Of course this killed my appetite and I was definitely worried about foodborne illness at the time. I emailed Fire & Chicken about this experience right after it happened, 11 days ago, and never heard back. It is disappointing there was no communication or attempt to resolve the issue (even just a refund for the fish bowl would have been nice).
