After general contracting the building of our home, we had our share of great, good, and awful contractors. Levi and his team are top notch. We chose a beautiful strand eucalyptus engineered wood flooring for our great room. Although it was a very pretty and, with it's aluminum oxide finish, very tough in terms of scratch resistance, the ends and the tongue and groove sides of the boards were very water sensitive. Within a year of the dog dribbling from her water bowl, we had swelling and buckling in some of the cracks (see before & after pics). Levi quoted us a very fair price and assured us that his team with modern tools and equipment could get the coating off edge to edge, (all the way to the baseboards), take out the micro-bevel between boards, and that the end result would be the custom floor look that we were after in the first place. We couldn't be happier with the result!

Levi left us with a sample color chart and said they would put 4-6 samples of our choice on the current floors.

A couple of years ago, I replaced the siding on the back of the house and chimney with Hardie siding, but I did not spend the extra money to replace the soffits, fascia and trim around the roof, because that would have cost more than all the other siding combined. It turns out, squirrels like to eat paper, eh, I mean Masonite siding when they can reach it. So there are chew marks on the Masonite trim near the roof where they can perch on the gutters or roof line itself to reach it. At this point, I have gutters up and really do not want to go through the hassle of removing just those boards. I needed some metal flashing the width of the trim and bent at a 90 degree angle so it would also cover the narrow side. Home depot does not carry anything like that and if you have ever tried working with the flashing they have, once you try to bend it (without the proper tools), it starts to look like a crumpled beer can. There was a place in South Austin that did metal work, but when my handy man called them, they would not do small jobs. I Googled "buy custom metal flashing in Austin" and Montopolis supply came up. I called them, explained what I needed. They could form the flashing and custom cut the pieces to the length I needed. They also had a primed metal that would be ready to paint once attached to the house. I also needed an angle trimmed off each one - but had a template I could bring them when I picked it up. They assured me they could handle that for an additional charge. I pre-paid for my order over the phone (minus the custom cuts I would pay for later). They said it would take 24 hours. A few days later - I made my way out there on a Saturday morning to pick up my order. The office is pretty kitschy with lots of religious signs and bibles for sale. The staff was friendly and helpful. Kenneth brought my order to me and took my template to provide the additional cuts I would need. He made those cuts right in front of me. I paid for the extra cutting ($2.50 per cut). He also showed me which screws would be best for attaching to the house and you can buy those by weight (as little or as much as you need). I left with my newly cut metal flashing and a small bag of screws. Next week, I plan on having them installed on the house so the next time a squirrel tries to chew my house, they may need a trip to the dentist.

Apparently he couldn't be bothered to read two whole sentences of email and only read the one half of the word "hardie" and I was supposed to understand that he had disregarded the rest of it. Listen: Maybe if you are a builder or something that is going to buy 2000 board feet they will give you the time of day. But even then I wouldn't want to support their dishonesty. As an individual: Avoid!

    TimberTown Austin - Original incident.

I've had two separate trucks damaged by TimberTown's forklift operators while picking up materials…read more The first time, TimberTown accepted responsibility and paid a body shop directly. Shawn, the general manager at the time, assisted with that process and I'm grateful for his help. Unfortunately, the second incident has been nothing but deflection, denial, and frankly--disrespect. After the most recent damage, I submitted photos, repair estimates, and every piece of documentation their upper management requested--including trade-in paperwork after the truck was sold. Instead of taking accountability, TimberTown leadership accused both me and a third party (Covert, the dealership I traded the truck to) of fraud, simply because I followed through on what they originally asked me to do. Most offensively, they accused the sales manager at Covert--someone I've never even met or spoken to--of helping me fabricate paperwork. This person was simply trying to help me provide TimberTown the documents they requested. I've been trying to get this resolved since Fall 2023. This morning, I emailed Josh Clinksales, TimberTown's CFO per his email signature, to request that all further communication take place via email or text, as I was tired of phone calls where I was repeatedly accused of fraud. Minutes later, Josh called me directly and said: "Christian, I've talked to upper management. Do whatever you have to do. We're not going to fix or pay anything." That was the final word. This is not a miscommunication. This is a company choosing to ignore clear evidence and deny accountability, even after a repeated history of damage. I've spent thousands of dollars at this store--more than what I'm even requesting. I took a loss when I traded in that damaged vehicle because TimberTown refused to do the right thing, and I was left to cover the cost out of pocket. I'm posting this review, along with photos from both damage incidents, so that other contractors and customers know: if something goes wrong at TimberTown, you may be completely on your own. Even if they ask for estimates, receipts, or documents, it may lead nowhere. You may just end up wasting your time, your money, and your energy for them to ultimately tell you they don't care and won't do anything about it. https://www.google.com/search?q=timbertown&sca_esv=d4be40e2387352c5&rlz=1C5CHFA_enUS1114US1114&ei=8zZUaPLHMo_AkPIPraK3CQ&gs_ssp=eJzj4tZP1zcsyTIvLzHMM2C0UjWosDAzMUlONTUwNE02TEw1NrUyqDA0Tk02sjBIsjBJTjFNS0n14irJzE1KLSrJL88DAEuiE04&oq=timbertown&gs_lp=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&sclient=gws-wiz-serp#lrd=0x8644ce5015c1ae35:0x13ec280b84cd5fde,1,,,,
