December 30th at 11:48 I was in the store , I was rudely greeted by a woman named Angie that was an acting manager, she was very unprofessional, I didn't once be rude or anything then I talked to a different manager & there wasn't anything that was fixed .. I was going in the purchase something but due to the rude & unprofessional worker I had to remove myself , I pray theres a change with the people you hire or the hiring process because attitudes & rudeness should not be allowed. I had a horrible experience at Lakewood CA Finish Line and they could not take my return for some strange odd unreasonable reason so they told me to go to this store to return my shoes which I did. As annoyed as I was about them not being able to take my return at Lakewood store, i'm very glad it happened that way. I was greeted by a friendly staff who welcomed me with open arms. They took my return in a very nice professional manner and I ended up buying some stuff for my nephews while I was at it. I will never go back to Lakewood store but only come to this one! I have never been in the retail business but I can only imagine that this store out performs the Lakewood store by a lot and it's all because of the staff members! Been eyeing a pair of Asics running shoes for a while. Finish Line seems to have the best supply for them compared to Foot Locker. On certain running shoes there is a 15 day test run on the shoes. If you don't like the shoe after running in them within 15 days of purchase you can return them for another pair but you MUST have the receipt. I really like this store because of the customer service. Everyone in the store is really attentive and helpful. They make sure that you get the pair that suits you the best and will offer any advice. For example, I only wanted to try on the Asics Nimbus 12 but the representative got me 2 OTHER shoes to try in case I didn't the Nimbus 12. In a way, it's good business tactics but it still makes the customer feel like they ACTUALLY care. If you plan on buying shoes from here, be sure to google "finish line coupons" before purchasing. They have pretty good deals every now and then like $10 off $60 or $20 off $100. Overall, from both of my experiences here. If I ever need running shoes this is the place I'll be going first. read more

I'm laughing/crying at how bad the customer service is here. I went in to buy a pair of shoes in size 8. The sales associate, Kevin, comes back and tells me that the white color that I wanted was only available in size 7 (which was the self display) and brought those out as well as a size 8 pair in a blue color. Cool, awesome. I understand that products/colors run out. I totally get it, no problem. I tried on both shoes and fortunately for me, the shoe that I wanted in size 7 actually fit better than a size 8 that I asked for. So I told Kevin that I'll take the size 7 white ones. He was ringing us up, and was busy talking to my brother while doing so. Both shoes/boxes were placed on the bench. Keep in mind that both shoes were different sizes, one was blue, one was white, one was the last one left, one was a self display and one was not, etc. Basically, you can't get the two mixed up, right? LOL YOU ARE SO WRONG I got home around 2 hours later to find that ~*~SURPRISE~*~ I was given the wrong color, wrong size shoe. My mom called the store and the manager Daisy (which is actually the worst manager I've ever met; she's even worse than an IHOP manager that I once came across) replied with "Ok well there's really nothing that I can do about it, but you can always come return it to the store. We close at 9 tonight" Ok, look. You DO NOT tell a customer "there's really nothing that I can do about it". She didn't even apologize. You need to deal with irate customers accordingly...maybe an "I am so sorry for the inconvenience! We'll be more than happy to help you out. We can definitely do an exchange or return for you (maybe insert some of the return policy here), and make sure that you're totally taken care of. Our hours of operation are..." I mean... CUSTOMER SERVICE 101, Y'ALL. I worked at a big box retail store (Best Buy) as my FIRST job EVER at 18 years old, and even I knew this. This is a grown ass woman who is a "manager" (if that's really what you want to call yourself). So I drive all the way back to the mall (I live in Signal Hill/Long Beach so you can imagine how inconvenient it is to drive 20 miles round trip just because of incompetent ass sales associates), and I told the guy at the register the situation. He brings over Daisy, the "manager", and she's basically says the same thing. "I apologize (oh, now you're gonna apologize?), but there's really nothing that I can do about it". Yeah ok just get me my shoes, you suck. So Kevin pops out of the warehouse and does the exchange. Turns out that the shoes that were previously rung up, were on sale. The shoes that I wanted originally, were $30 more. You'd think that because they made the mistake, that they would just do an even exchange, right? LOL YOU ARE SO WRONG "Yeah, so that will be $27.80" So my mom and I said, "Alright, well we just took an entire hour out of my day and drove all the way from Long Beach because YOU made a mistake". Kevin replied with "Oh, what part of Long Beach?" Not knowing what the hell this question had anything to do with my complaint, I replied with "Signal Hill". "Oh, yeah? Yeah, I used to live around like the Pine area (or whatever the fuck he said, I wasn't really paying attention) so I totally know what that feels like" Bro...that has nothing to do with anything, and it definitely does not help the customer in any way. I don't care about what part in Long Beach you used to live in. YOU made a mistake, so YOU should do an even exchange for that mistake. CUSTOMER SERVICE 101. "Ok, well these are the ones you want, right" You can tell he was getting irritated, but you should never say something like that to a customer. This basically is saying "ok well if you don't want these then just leave". CUSTOMER SERVICE 101. We ended up having to pay the $27.80 because the employees suck. Workers here chat too much and are very slow. WHENEVER my friends and I come here, they never ever have our correct size. They also take a very long time to come back with your shoe. DONT get the "free" sports illustrated magazine subscription. When they told me I was "eligible" to get it, I kept on refusing saying "it's okay, I don't even like sports, it'd be a waste. And he kept on saying "it's free, there's nothing to lose!" False. I said okay honestly just so I could get outta there, and now a month later, I just got charged $24.99 on my credit card. So I called sports illustrated trying to cancel this and get my money back. But I need a "account number." So now I don't know how to cancel this. Any help please? Good spot with a pretty good selection of running shoes. I was looking for a pair for the over-pronator, which tend to be uncommon and on the costly side. Raul knew what it was all about and pointed me to a pair that I was researching online- the Brooks Beast- and they happened to be on sale. The store had plenty of space for me to run some sprints, I elected to jog, however. Good selection, large space and knowledgeable staff will have me come back when I wear these Beasts out. The 4 stars (vs 5) is due to the short amount of time I spent. I did not survey the store as most of it went by in a slow blur when I was testing out the shoes. read more

They usually have great deals here, but I must say customer service is beyond garbage. Except for one. Westin went above and beyond and took the time to help me out. But what turns me off are the workers who come to an assumption that each and every customer that shops for "Jordans" are shoe heads or whatever you call it. I asked this guy (not Westin) to tell me more about the Jordans that were coming out and what not. He just nodded his head and looked at me as if I'm supposed to know automatically about these shoes. I hate the stereotypical "Oh look he's Asian / Filipino wears Nikes" he knows his shoe game. Sadly, I don't. And I would LOVE to learn more about why x, y, z shoe is popular. My experience of a recent sneaker release with Cerritos finish line was absolutely terrible and extremely unprofessional. The shoes were initially a first come first serve release. I was one of the first 10 people there was only 17 pair. They turned it into a raffle and gave over 50 people tickets who weren't even in line. When they did the raffle Manager Scott and sale Associate Josue picked only the people they wanted . Groups of friends and workers there on off day who weren't even in line . I don't care if I don't get my shoes I just want a fair chance for everybody and the way they handle event was not fair at all . To be honest it almost seem like a race thing because out of the 50 people who got tickets 30 were probably black and not one of us won a shoe . I don't know but to me it seem like at lease one should of won. Just not fair when I did my part and now I have to pay more money to get my shoe if I still want it . read more

The most horrible and racist experience ever. I was there for a shoe release which clearly stated first come first served and when the store employers released it was mainly African Americans in the front of the line The manger Scott and the employees Yuri and Joseswa decided their going to change protocol and do a raffle after people been in line for hours. So the results of the raffles all Asian and Hispanics won which comes to find out was either people who work there or their family members won the raffle to get shoes. Scott the manager let his employees run him not one black person won. This shoe release was so bogus and unfair to the ones who was in the front of the line. This place has a lot of selection. I went there to buy Nike Air Max and the sales person was very helpful. After I bought the shoe, I realize that the size was too big so I went back the next day to change for a smaller size. It was a different sales person and she said she won't let me return because it's worn out. I wore it for just one day and the shoe looks new. When I asked why she was very rude, I felt like I was being scolded at. In the end they let me changed to my size but I had to fight for it. If I could give negative stars for this store I would. Supposed supervisors standing in shoe release lines causing turmoil so that a raffle is done at the last minute. Documented video of people in line as requested by the store of first come first serve and then raffle decided at the last minute. Employees without raffle ticket sold shoes. Friends of store staff sold shoes in clusters of 5. Refused to do live raffle after changing from first come first serve. Tickets with stubs still connected visibly winning shoes. Manager allowing staff to take trash about customers. Whole families winning shoes. Not one customer other Asian and Hispanic culture win. Raffle tickets being given to people not even in line. Employees telling customers they cannot speak to the supervisor or manager. Employees refusing to give their name. Is this the type of service that a organization like Finishline represents. Other stores commenting on how unprofessional this was handled. I was told even tho I contacted corporate yelp and surveys is the only way to get my voice heard. What is the 877 number for then? I will keep posting and doing surveys until my story is heard. This is happening at Cerritos CA and Lakewood CA Finishline. I come here every 6 mo to a year to buy some new kicks for mother. Service is great. Sometimes slow but only because it gets quite busy on Sundays. Let's start off with customer service!! Where is it exactly specially with the STORE MANAGER KATHERINE I mean why do you treat your clients like trash??? On top of that the way you communicated with me and my husband was the worst way I've ever been approached by anybody ever not just in sales! I mean I know the customer doesn't have to be bowed down to but the least Katherine could've done was acknowledge the shoe we wanted to try on and the questions we had but no she couldn't come face to face and apologize not only that but she sent another associate to cover her mess. Anyway this next associate was Taylor (assistant manager) nice young lady (at least it seemed) I greeted her and she rolled her eyes as she came to me, honestly I asked her "is anything wrong or why are you rolling your eyes at me?" She replied with "I can help you with shoes but not with the emotions I show!!!" When she told me that I was in rage and I felt devastated so I just sat in the nike track club with my husband not knowing what to do. Taylor stood their and kept rolling her eyes making eye contact and faces with the manager Katherine and telling me that if I wanted a shoe to make it "snappy" because she had to go on break soon. I asked her for a pair of lunar glides in a size 7 & some pink and orange free runs in the same size. She said ok I'll be back and while she went to the back I noticed the display lunar glide I had asked for was a 7 so I tried it on and It felt good so I was happy because I knew I'd be buying at least one item from her. At least I thought so about 5-6 minutes later she comes and says I don't have the lunar glide or the free run, I said the display is a 7 and she said to me " I SAID I DONT HAVE A 7" I then proceeded to grab the shoe from the display to show her and she runs to it, grabs it and puts it in the stock room!!!!! Like OMG could my experience be any worse???? Then I went up to another young man and asked where Taylor had gone and Katherine comes to interrupt and says in a rude manner "she's on break you know!!" & as she says that a young lady that also works their got called in and Katherine told her to help me because I was being "difficult". I honestly wanted to walk out but as soon as this young lady named Minerva made eye contact with me she told me with a smile " good afternoon mam' how can I help you today?" As soon as she said that I knew I was going to be helped out!!! I replied to her and told her the same thing I told Taylor, if I can see the lunar glides and the free runs in a size 7 and she said sure thing give me a moment and I'll be right back! She said "floor" or something like that & went to grab me both pairs I had wanted at the start & guess what?? BOTH SHOES WERE AVAILABLE IN MY SIZE! (I didn't tell minerva nothing about my previous incident at all) I did tell her however "oh I thought you wouldn't have any in my size" & her reply was "oh no we have more than one pair of each" when she said that i looked over to my husband and I told him she is an honest young lady unlike the other two, I like her (: she showed me both shoes and even showed me an athlete insole because the free run needed some more support, I was totally in love with the shoes, insole and more importantly the EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE she gave me, she even signed me up for a winner circle account, I am so glad Minerva helped me if it wasn't for her I honestly would've left and NEVER gone back to this finish line. Now If I was a manager or even a district manager or had high authority I'd place this young lady above Taylor and Katherine any day because she has potential and is much more aware of what it means to give customer service at its finest. I am just saying who ever trained this seller must have been talented and I know for a fact Katherine couldn't have done that!! They even hung up during the conversation. They kept saying that they returned the money for the item but they never did. I use to love this store. In fact I have a family member that works for the company in an east coast store. He explained this store is used as the standard for training. And it was a great store to go to. Managers and employees were knowledgeable and seemed to enjoy the experience which made it pleasurable. Since the store changed managers and locations I have decided to no longer go to the location for my athletic wear and sneaker needs. The Location: I understand leases expire and they had to take a new location but good grief it is so cramped in this store. You can barely maneuver without knocking into a display or hitting you knew a display table. The staff: They need to be properly trained if they are going to be allowed to operate the register. Two employees tried to convince me that I could only make my purchase as debit card purchase because the didn't know how to work the credit machine to accept as a credit transaction. One proceeded to inspect my card and tell me "uhhh. it says debit right there. . " Duh asshole, it also has a Visa logo so I can decide to proceed with Debit or Credit. Finally a 3rd, employee had to come over and tell them "yes, she can make the transaction as credit". I realize these are young kids, but it sucks when they just say anything to get you out of their face. And when you challenge they actually get an attitude. Bring back Jesus for some major bootcamp style training. Whip these kids into shape. read more

What's good Cali ?? I just want to take a moment to highly recommend this Finish Line . These employees make it what it is and that's a great place to pick up my favorite Jordan's. As a longtime collector of J's I know that working with customers on release days can be hard . Especially with the recent releases of all the 12's of the Banned 1 Air Jordan . The Manager, Kat assisted me with my transaction. I have been to this location prior, and she has assisted me with excellent service every time. My situation was a little harder then normal since I was shopping for someone else. I almost went to FinishLine in Macy's because I needed a specific shoe for my mother-in-law. I ended up buying a different shoe and my mother-in-law loved it anyway. Overall, I am completely satisfied with this location and I will only shop there from here on out :) read more

Even though they do seem to have a smaller selection since they moved locations. I want to say that Jonathan helped my wife and I today. He was very professional. Actually introduced himself to us. And ask our names. Shook our hands. Different but a pleasant surprise. He helped us locate a Nike workout pants for my wife. He found it. And he helped us out with our checkout process. He was able to use the two rewards cards and coupons that we had. Thank you very much for your help. Keep it up. Most of the stars earned here go to their large selection and variety of shoes offered. Also, the associates are usually very knowledgeable and can answer many questions you have regarding the shoe you are looking to buy. I was in the market for some good running shoes recently and the sales associate that helped me answered every question I had to my satisfaction and proved to be very helpful. I didn't end up buying a shoe, since they didn't have my size, however I came away knowing more about what shoe would best fit my wants and needs. read more
