Subject: Formal Complaint - Improper Repairs and Demand for Reimbursement To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting a formal complaint regarding the repairs performed on my 2022 Hyundai Tucson at Fine Line Auto Body in Hilliard. I was not at fault in the accident involving my vehicle. The other driver's insurance company paid Fine Line Auto Body to restore my vehicle to its pre-accident condition. Prior to the accident, my Tucson was in perfect working condition. When my vehicle was returned to me, it was not repaired properly. After pickup, I discovered that multiple features that worked before the accident were no longer functioning. Specifically: The remote smart parking feature on my key fob, which allows the vehicle to move forward and backward while I am outside of it, no longer worked. My navigation system stopped working. The bumper was not installed correctly. There were cords hanging underneath the vehicle. Due to these concerns, I took my vehicle to a Hyundai dealership for inspection. The dealership informed me that the repairs were not done correctly and expressed serious concern about the quality of the work. I was informed by Fine Line that if I paid to have the issues corrected, I would be reimbursed. Relying on that statement, I used money from my mortgage payment to cover the cost of fixing my vehicle. It has now been over a month, and I have not received reimbursement. It is unacceptable that I was not at fault, the insurance company paid for proper repairs, and my vehicle was returned to me in worse condition. I am formally requesting full reimbursement for the corrective repairs. Additionally, because payment has been delayed for over a month, it is only fair that interest be included in the reimbursement to account for the financial burden this delay has caused. Please provide a written response within 10 business days of receipt of this letter. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will consider pursuing further action through the insurance company and appropriate consumer protection agencies. read more

I can't recommend Fine Line Auto on North High Street in Clintonville enough! After my beloved conversion van was stolen and involved in a hit-skip accident, the insurance company deemed it totaled. I was heartbroken -- I'd only had one season of adventures in it, and it had a unique custom package that meant a lot to me. Rather than replace it, I made the decision to restore it, and I'm so glad I did. Bill at Fine Line was initially surprised by my choice, but he was incredibly thorough in explaining the repairs and costs up front. Once he understood how much the van meant to me, he was fully on board and handled the project with care and respect. He kept me updated throughout the process and made sure to get my approval on a few adjustments along the way. Shushana was always so friendly and welcoming every time I stopped in (and I'll admit, I stopped by several times!). She ensured I had all the paperwork I needed for my final state inspection, which the van passed with flying colors! A big thank you as well to the kind gentleman who helped me when I came in to clear out the camping gear that had been destroyed -- your help meant more than you know. Yes, it took some time -- older parts aren't easy to come by, and a few features needed tweaking -- but the end result was absolutely worth it. The van looks and runs beautifully, and I already took it out for a camping trip right after the repairs were done. I couldn't be happier! Mistakenly brought my car to Fine Line late night after an accident. The next day insurance wanted my car on their own lot so arranged to pick it up in a couple days. Fine Line performed ZERO work, was not authorized to do anything and other than storing my car and moving it to the back of their until insurance picked it up, they had no other business with my car. Fine Line charged my insurance almost $2000 in erroneous fees which was then passed down to me. Fine Line refused to deal with me to dispute charges and "claimed" to call my insurance. They act like insurance companies are evil but I'm out lots of money due to Fine Line's shady practice. Would love to resolve this but Fine Line continues to give me the runaround read more

I'll summarize my day, I went to an unnamed body shop too see if I could get an estimate on an early Friday Morning. the uninterested receptionist went straight to method of payment and setting me up for an appointment MONDAY MORNING Fast forward my day 2 shops later after being directed to websites and being advised "by appointments only", or "we can't repair only replace" I pull in to the lively lobby distraught that I would not be able to have my car looked at any time soon and stressing the money it may cost, I was greeted with hospitality, offered a drink of and a clipboard to get my info, not only did the friendly adjuster escort me to to take a peak at the potential damage on my car, he called one of the technician's out who immediately began to investigate. proceeds to disassemble identify and fix the problem WITHIN MINUTES!!!! My wife's new Hyundai Tucson was rear ended, causing tailgate and bumper damage. Their State Farm Ins wanted me to take the vehicle to Crash Champion Collision right next door but when I went in for an estimate and mentioned State Farm, they wanted me to schedule an estimate 2 weeks out. Instead, I came to Fine Line Auto, where Wes immediately gave me an initial estimate. It took State Farm 2 weeks, to approve the supplemental estimate, after the tear down, but once they did so, Fine Line immediately began working on the vehicle and were done within the promised 7-10 days, finishing it up on their half day, Saturday. When I took it back a few days later, to address a scratch on the rear quarter panel, they quickly resolved it within a couple of hours. My only complaint is that Wes did not communicate at all, when we were dealing with the State Farm delays. We were rear-ended on the off ramp at Carlisle this week. The lift gate on our Honda CRV was crumpled, and we feared it would pop open, and all of our vacation luggage would end up on the highway. We Googled body shops, and Fine Line popped up, and was open. We drove there and we're greeted by Trey who had Ken come out to look at the damage. Ken pulled on the lift gate, and assured us it would not pop open, but he went the extra mile, and taped it shut for our peace of mind, and to keep moisture out. That fix lasted all the way home from PA to NC. So, we probably won't go through Carlisle PA again, but if you live in that area you can't go wrong with Ken and Trey at Fine Line Auto Body. Deflection, distraction and disinformation should be the name of this location. It was my mistake for coming here when I should have been 2 doors down at Auto Body Collision & Glass. But when I asked Prescott (the employee that greeted me) if I was at the correct location he lied and said yes. Prescott took my information and got me a ride to Enterprise Rent A Car across the street. It wasn't until later in the day when I received a call from the Grange insurance agent, handling the claim, that I found out I had dropped my car at the wrong body shop. When I called Prescott to ask him why he lied to me he stated that I could have my car repaired anywhere (true) and that their shop would quickly and efficiently take care of the damage. So I opted to leave my car there. BIG MISTAKE. The insurance company sent out their adjuster and wanted to total the vehicle. WRONG! I called their client who hit my car and they agreed to pay for the damage done through their credit card. I called Prescott again (since I wasn't receiving any calls from him) to ask why he hadn't gotten back to me about the adjuster's report. He claimed that he knew nothing about the report. So I told him to call the person who damaged my vehicle and get his credit card information so the work could proceed on my car. This didn't happen. A couple of days go by and I got a text from the guy who hit my vehicle saying he was waiting for a call from the body shop. I was beginning to get a bit frustrated with the lack of communication from Prescott so I called him AGAIN and he stated that I needed to come back to the shop to sign the authorization form for repairs to begin. Why didn't you tell me this a week ago? So I drove back to the shop, spoke with the "manager" Dennis, signed the form and he said he would call the person who hit my car right away. DIDN'T HAPPEN! Another day goes by with no action so I called Prescott AGAIN and was not happy. They finally call the guy, got his credit card information, called me back to verify that this was done (surprise,surprise) and said work would be completed by Friday. Two days go by without contact so I called Prescott AGAIN to see if the car was completed. He said they were unable to start it. I asked why he didn't call me and he LIED again saying they fixed the car outside so that he could meet my expected deadline of Friday for pick up. I waited until Saturday, drove up to the shop and found the car unrepaired still sitting where I had parked it. Now I'm pissed. I confront Steve (again another manager) and ask him why I had been lied to about my car being repaired. He said that they couldn't get it to start so they couldn't pull it in the shop to do the work. NOT WHAT I WAS TOLD. Steve and I had a heated exchange where he threatened to call the police to get me removed from the lot. Didn't happen. He backed down when I asked who was the owner and how could I get in contact with him. Steve finally cooled down and took the correct key for my car, moved it into the shop and began the work. I walked inside the waiting area of the shop and asked another employee who was the general manager of the entire operation and she stated that he had just pulled up and was coming in the door. I can't remember the name of the gentleman but he was a hell-of-a-lot more professional than Steve. He said he would get the car repaired and call me as soon as it was done. I left and, before I got home, got a call stating the car was completed. Since I had other plans for Saturday I didn't pick up the car until Monday. It was completed as they said and ready to go. Don't know if it was because I'm Black, or the repair was not a lot of money, or the car was an older vehicle, or because Prescott is just incompetent but I know I will never recommend them to anyone for any type of repairs. And suggestions for the shop: BE HONEST with your customer. If a customer doesn't have an appointment with you, just say so. Secondly, COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CUSTOMER. A simple phone call to me, the very first day, saying you had the wrong key would have greatly reduced the time my car was at your shop. Also, a daily call back to let me know the status of a.) insurance adjuster. b.) was payment made on the claim, and c.) actual finish time of the vehicle is not only advisable but should be required by all of your front office employees. My brakes were giving me trouble as I was driving and I knew I needed brake fluid and was nervous to go any further. I pulled into Fine Line and asked for help and told them I would pay for just the little brake fluid to get me to the shop I was headed to. They jumped to help me and put the brake fluid in for me for free, as well as told me the nearest quick service shop to go to. Kind group of helpful employees and I will definitely come back in the future when I need a service they can offer. read more

My car was hit by someone in a McDonalds parking lot and the person was on company time so their company was paying for the damages to my car how ever the processing company called sedgewick is a terrible company who took almost 4 weeks to get fineline the money to pay for my car needless to say fine line had my car done in a week but this pos of a processing company took for ever so if you have to deal with sedgewick i pray for you but rest assured fine line is the best repair company around this is the second time I used them and they are very courteous and help full I hope i dont need use a repair place again but if I do im a customer for life read more

Can I leave a negative star? I took my vehicle in to get minor work done. After 3 weeks, I called for an update and they said they haven't started, maybe 1-2 weeks until it's done. I call two weeks later and same response. 1-2 weeks. Two weeks go by and then it's a "it'll be done on Friday." Then on Friday they say Saturday. Then on Saturday they say Monday. Then on Monday they say Tuesday. On Tuesday they say it's finally done. You have 1 hour to come pick it up. When I get there, they say cash or check only. So I have to go get cash. Then I get back and they say, no we need exact cash. And act like it's my fault that I should have known that. We pay up, they proceed to tell me that they had to jump my car multiple times to move it when I just put a new battery in the vehicle last year. I get inside my vehicle and theres trash, old parts of my car, new parts of my car they didn't finish installing, and whole cans of cleaner on the floor. Worst experience I've ever had. read more

Unfortunately, my wife was recently involved in a non-injury accident that was not her fault. We recently purchased her new BMW X3 less than two months ago and reached out to the dealer for body shop recommendations. Fine Line Auto Body was not one of them. She received a voicemail from Adam (who misrepresented himself as if he was contracting with Nationwide Insurance) and wanted to set up a time to start her repairs. The only reason my wife returned the phone call was because she was concerned that Nationwide (who is the at-fault driver's insurance company) began to set up the repairs for her. After calling Adam back, it was discovered that he was actually representing Fine Line Auto Body, stating that they contract with Nationwide. As he began to tell my wife that he would set up the repair, she informed him that we had already chosen a different body shop for the repairs. All crash reports are public record, which is why you will receive these unwanted calls from body shops and attorneys trying to earn your business-which is a pretty underhanded way of doing business, in my opinion. After she informed Adam that we were going with a certified BMW body shop, his demeanor changed to being rude and started interrogating my wife as to why we were going with the other body shop. When she kindly responded that she was just more comfortable going with Achbach Body Shop, Adam continued to rudely "educate" her on the number of certifications of Fine Line Auto Body and, eventually, hung up on her after she continued to politely tell him that we had already made our decision regarding where we were having our car repaired. I really don't know how they expect to earn business when they treat people this way. Furthermore, friends of mine, who have used Fine Line Auto Body in the past, were not very pleased with the work they performed. This place is the absolute best. Seriously, first impression, right when I walked through the doors I was immediately greeted and handed a rose. I was given a quote. And decided to stick with Fineline auto body. I didn't have to stress at all. They handled everything. All I had to do was hand over the keys and they took care of everything with my insurance company. What won me over was the fact they provided me with a rental for the time my car was being repaired. Even though I didn't have rentals insurance. They still lent me a car!! On top of it all....! I didn't even have to pay for the full deductible which was a blessing. My car looks spanking brand new. Fineline persuaded me to use their services after an accident a few years ago. They paid my deductible and also gave me a LIFETIME warranty on the door they fixed. A couple years after the door started to rust along the edges. NONE of the other doors did this, only the one they replaced. By this time I had moved 3 hours away but they had me send pictures of he door. They agreed to fix it free pf charge so I drove the 6 hours to get it fixed. They gave me $50 for gas but NOTHING for my time. That was 2+ years ago and the SAME door is rusting AGAIN. I had a recall on my Toyota and asked why this door keeps rusting. H instinatly said 'it's because they're painting the door but should have used Black Out tape.' Black Out tape is widely used in the automotive industry and he couldn't they didn't recognize the the first or SECOND time they fixed the door. On May 15th I texted pictures to Paul of my door. I have been getting the runaround every since. The lady who calls me does not make any decisions all she does is relay messages back and forth. I even suggested I get it fixed where I'm at and they pay a portion of he bill because I'm tired of the back and forth. As of now they say they'd fix it free of charge but can't guarantee they'll pay for gas. At this point, if they can't get it right in 2 tries I'apprehensive about them getting it right the THIRD time. I honestly don't feel like wasting 6 hours of my life again when I have no confidence in their workmanship. No matter what incentive they give you, take your car elsewhere and get it fixed right the FIRST time!!!! read more
