McCombe Body Shop - After: Looks great!

McCombe Body Shop

McCombe did a great job repairing the damage to my car. It looks like new!…read more The estimator, Trina Willis, was professional and easy to talk to, and she dealt with my insurance company. I also appreciated the Carwise app, which allowed me to track the progress of the repair.

I brought my 2021 Nissan Rogue to McCombe (CollisionRight) after a parking-lot accident on…read moreSeptember 6 damaged the rear passenger door. State Farm's estimate was $3,124 -- four days of work. I first spoke with the shop on September 8, and again on September 15. During the Sept 15th call, I asked to bring the car in during a vacation we would take a month later. On October 7 I emailed the estimate. On October 8 I emailed adding again the request to schedule the repair for October 15-20, while we were out of town: and asked what they needed from me to get it booked. That email was never answered. I dropped the car off on October 14 anyway. We returned from vacation to a phone call as I was in the airport returning home: great news - the replacement door had arrived, that morning, on October 20 -- and not one hour of work had been started yet. The earliest completion they could offer was October 23 after my wife already needed the car back for work. I had State Farm move the claim as dates no longer mattered. On Oct 23rd Caliber Collision on Taylor Rd. in Reynoldsburg took the same car, the same claim, and the same estimate: the door is in paint today, October 28, they text me updates without being asked, and they expect to finish this week. Six weeks from first contact to zero work started. A shop that holds your car for a week and starts nothing does not have a scheduling problem. It has a respect problem. I cannot recommend McCombe.

I gotta give it up for AAP. Trust me when I tell you that…read moresending Grandma here will please her. She will have a friendly individual walk outside and test her vehicle battery. Show her 3 prices or quality options of batteries. Then they will change her battery for her, and thank her for her business. This is the customer service with a smile that she remembers. Military discount. Coupons. Email coupons. FREE tool rental. Your vehicles info stored in the store computer, and online for you. All this.... and free battery testing, installation, wiper replacements, diagnostics, and more. I admit I have used many but not all the services. I do regret that there is not ONE universal network to share. If you see a part online that is available at another location not your own, you may be asked to re-input your data at this location also. I find the staff to be friendly and helpful. The have general auto knowledge, and store merchandise familiarity. Most visits are walk in. Tell them your vehicle info, ad the part you need. They offer good, better, best quality. Most will know of a special and tune you into a promotion("add $2 to qualify for a 20% discount"). Returns could not be easer. Mechanics always buy more than they might need, because you never know what you'll find when you get it apart. Just keep your receipt for the easiest process. Lots of specialty tools to rent for FREE. You pay for the tool as if you are buying it. You get a full refund after you return the tool set, clean and in tact. No daily or hourly rate. Family members that call me with an automotive question, I always send to AAP for a free diagnostic test, and the codes. They can tell you what the check engine codes mean. "Gas cap is not tight" Yes, that is more common than you think. Google your code before just handing it to anyone that is going to say PAY ME!
